I use Adobe Premiere, I don't know any other programmes !!

Oh, sorry. I use a couple of programs. AVIEdit, RAD Video Tools, VideoPak and Adobe Image Ready.

First I use RAD Video Tools and convert the non avi vids to avi. Then VideoPak to convert the vids to avi again with the MJPG compressor. Then I load it up on AVIEdit and select what part of the video I want as a gif. Then export those frames as a gif. Then I go to Image Ready and then resize the gif. Then in Image Ready, I preview in browser and save tht gif. Then load it again on AVIEdit and export the files again as another gif with different frame rates. Because usually the gifs are 2/3 mb. So I change the framerate to bring it down to 400-600kb.

I assume your using IE?
Try using a different/better browser (something like Firefox or Opera) and you should be able to save the pics as whatever they should be.
