it would have been cool to see mac d in the premishership. but i think he has done the right thing in staying at barca
Brilliant, Ronaldinho decides to stay at Barca at everyone thinks he's made the right decision and 'good on goofy' etc...
I'm sure this is exactly what all the Man Utd fans were thinking when he chose Barca over them last season. I'm sure you were all full of the same 'well done Dinho' when that happened!
Ronaldinho is a fantastic player and i hope he made the right decision, i dont want to see him throwing his career away by going to the wrong team like other players have done in the past :)

More anti-Chelsea bullshit. The envy levels are ridiculous now.
It's Chelsea, Champions League semi finalists and league runners up. Who've just appointed the most sought-after manager in the world. Not fucking Wrexham.

i aint got nothing against Chelsea, iam just saying i dont want him to ruin his career by moving to the wrong team, he might do really good for Chelsea if he moved to Stamford Bridge but if he doesnt then thats a waste of good talent.
i would say the same thing if my team Inter were going in for him :)

So, using that logic, no one should ever transfer teams in case they suddenly turn shit?
Looking at this from another point of view, where would you rather live?Dreary, cold, wet, overpriced cities of London or Manchester. Or, the beautiful city of Barcelona, where he can enjoy the mediteranean climate, better quality of life and play at one of the greatest stadiums in the world for a club that is so much more prestigious and successful than Chelsea.
Ive been to Barcelona and it is that good. Hmmmm, tricky one that. ;)

yes of course, only players that are brilliant with the club there at though.
Ronaldinho is amazing at Barcelona, why should he leave if it could ruin his career.
Cannavaro isnt playing good with Inter so if he leaves he has nothing to lose because he was playing rubbish at Inter anyway, you see what i mean? :)
What about ambition? Players shouldn't have ambitions if they're playing well already?
Progression? Players may want to play in different leagues, all players want to experience different leagues and places to play football. But if they're already playing well in one country they shouldn't go elsewhere?
Surely 'brilliance' is not only applicable to one country either? If a player is truly brilliant where they place should not be an issue.

so how do u think united fans have felt for the last eight years. i bet you were really happy when united missed out on him. i personally would like to see him in the premiership because he is the best player in the world in my opinion. i think he has stayed at Barca not becasue of football but because he is the best player at barcelona and he feels as though he is valued highly by them. he likes getting all the praise from the press in barcelona. i fdont think he would shine as much as chelsea because he would be around better players. its the same with Rio ferdinand he was absoloutely fantastic as west ham because he was their best player by far. there are other examples too but i can't be bothered naming them. Basicly he enjoys being the best By Far.

i sooo agree with you jamez. i'd never swap barcelona for london! and with ronaldinho doing so well at barcelona, they almost look like they can begin to challenge for top honours again. at barca, he will be a hero no matter what he does, and if they were win the championship or european cup, hell the fans would probably erect a statue of him outside the ground!
barcelona are so much more a prestigious club than chelsea. the only reason for many foreign players to go to chelsea is the money and maybe for a chace to work with mournihio. but a club like barcelona offers so much more, it offers honour, history and recognition. i think anyone (except chelsea fans ;)) would rather play for barcelona. at the moment anyway, maybe in a few years things will change.

Football is like a religion in Barcelona. In fact, they consider the stadium to be a monument itself, something to be proud of, and thats why its one of the few clubs who actually attract tourists to its stadium. Their trophy cabinet is out of this world, and i wouldnt bet against trophies being added in the coming years.
This is not anti-chelsea, but if you want to play with the big boys now then you have give respect to teams like Barca.
Yeh but incase you haven't realised Barcelona arent the team they once were. theyre in debt and they arent going to do well in the champions league. they wont be winning the league any time soon. I'd rather be playing for a better team than a presitigious team like liverpool. why doesnt anyone go to nottingham forest, they used to be good. arent they a prestigious club?
I think my anti-chelsea accusation got a little out of hand here and suddenly every thinks I've accused them of it. I only said it to the people who were talking about Chelsea like they would Tottenham etc...
I know Barca's a big club etc... etc... but let's be honest, they revolve around Ronaldinho. They even need Ronaldinho for their finances, it's him that gets people to the Nou Camp every week, which helps the clubs debts. Barca probably paid him a massive signing-on fee as they know that without him they'd fail miserably in all competitions and their attendences would take a fall as well.

yeah but they finished second in the league. they are on the way up again. you have to realise with examples like liverpool/nottingham forest. ask yourself 1 question, where would you rather live liverpool or nottingham OR london? i'm guessing the majourity of you would say london. then ask yourself would you rather live in barcelona OR london. i know where i'd choose!

so now that his buy out claus is 150mill euros... how many pounds is that?
Barca is a great club and they'll do even better next year, after getting rid of all the dutch no-good old timers (Kluivert :) yay I'm so glad they ditched that loser, Overmars who was good in his day but is too old, Cocu, Reiziger - another old timer, and Rustu - who turned out to be a total flop). This is going to help them financialy.
Another thing is that like Real Madrid and the Spanish government (debt erasure) the City council of Barcelona will probably (as they have done before) help Barca out.
This goes for finance.
For players - Barca are as good as many English teams, I'd probably rate them as good as Chelsea or Man Utd (not as good as Arsenal though :D).
They have an awesome midfield (Davids, Xavi, Ronnie, Motta and Gabri who are pretty good and let's not forget Luis Enrique who might not be able to play full 90 but is a very good player) a very good striker (Saviola) and they are going to try and get Trezeguet, who is an awesome striker. They've got Puyol, Van Bronkhorst and Marquez (who turned out to be a solid defender). All in all, I'd say that they could beat any English, and for that matter, any European team on any given day.
So Ronnie's decision was pretty solid IMO, plus the fact that he's been there for only 1 year, he's in no rush to move on to different leagues and stuff like that, and he'll get paid lots next year as well, and probably even in 3 years time.
Good call by Ronnie.
