X-Port Information
An X-Port is a small device you use to connect your PS2 to your PC using the USB ports in front of your PS2 to the back of your PC.
The wire is about 2 meters long and most people have to move their PS2 closer to their PC to make it reach. When you connect the PS2 to the PC, you do not need to plug it into the TV.
Once connected, you insert the X-Port CD into the PS2 and load the X-Port program on your PC (installed using the supplied PC CD).
Once this is done, you can use the PC to explore the files on your PS2 memory card. You can then copy any file from the PS2 memory card to your PC hard disk.
You can download X-Port files [.XPS] including PES2 and WE6:FE option files from a site such as
http://www.showusmiracle.com/
and send it to your memory card. If you want to send an option file to your mem card, it's a good idea to backup your original option file first as it will be over-written.
If you don't want to delete any of your great PES/WE goals, you can send them to your hard disk for storage until you want to check them out again. You can zip up the files to make them smaller and easier to email to people - eg sharing of option files, formations and goals etc.
Option files contain only data which can be edited manually in the games themselves, such as player names, appearances, club kits/flags etc. Nothing to do with patches can be stored on option files and you won't be able to load patch info using the X-Port.
So realistic kits and logos and advertising boards etc are only possible through the use of patches and not X-Port option files.
Different patches have different player rosters so if you saved the option file with Wedoit 3.0, and then play Wendetta, you will notice the national players (eg Spain) play for the clubs they have been replaced with, eg Spurs (they wish!). To stop this happening, you either need to play without loading the option file from the memory card or you have one mem card per patch.
You can get an X-Port from
www.play.com
Use the search option on the left side and type "X-Port".
£17.99 is the best price around.
http://www.play.com/play247.asp?page=title&r=PS2&title=110622
EDIT- The above was the best at the time.
Now you should check out
http://pesinsight.com/pesinsight/xport.shtml
for a slightly cheaper X-Port. £16.99
Having an X-Port can save you from hassle and upset at trying to play PES/WE one day for your PS2 to tell you that your option file is corrupted and you will have to start again. It will save you many hours of editing.
Hopefully this will answer all questions for the use of X-Port.
If not, ask away and I will edit this post to add the info.
:)
Guide to Using X-Port:-
Load up the X-Port software to see what I am talking about.
Near the bottom you have 3 buttons in a line.
'MEM CARD', 'PC DATABASE'and 'CODEJUNKIES.COM'
Ignore the 3rd one. All we need is the first 2.
When the PC DATABASE button is highlighted, it shows you what files are in your Savedgames folder in your X-Port folder (where you installed it to). If you put a tick on the box for any file and then click on RESTORE in the top left, the file will be sent to your memory card.
Some files which are the same are all shown together so click on the file first and you get details of more in the SAVES AVAILABLE window on the right. An example would be that I have about 10 PES3 Option files. In the GAMES FOUND window, you see one file for the PES3 Option file. In the SAVES AVAILABLE window, you'll see all the different ones you have at the moment. Then you would click the tick box and then click on RESTORE. That is how to send files to your mem card.
To send files to your PC, click on the MEM CARD button at the bottom. It should access the card to see what files are on it. Then it will show you the list. Tick the box of the file you want to transfer and then click on the BACKUP button which is now in the top left area. The file will then be sent to your Savedgames folder where you should rename it so you know exactly what it is.
With PES goal files, I think it's best to first use the in-game Gallery mode to view all your goals and write a quick description of them, eg
Goal 24 - Zidane Volley from Pires Cross (or something). Then you should send the goals one by one to your PC and as each one arrives, rename it as
"PES3 Goal 24 - Zidane Volley from Pires Cross.xps" - you may or may not need to add the .xps bit depending on your Windows options and whether it shows you the file extensions.
This way, you can tell which PES game the goal is for so you don't get confused between PES2 and PES3 etc.
And that's about it. If you want to share your goal with someone else, right click on it and choose SEND TO and then COMPRESSED (ZIPPED) FOLDER and then there will also be a zipped up version of the file which you can upload to frutsel or email to someone more easily.
Update: Download all x-port and max drive software from

Addition 1:
The goals videos you have seen are those which have been emailed to someone with a TV card who has made the replay into a video file. An X-Port on its own will not allow you to view your goals on your PC. You need a TV Card.
Options to view your goals:
1. Make the video of the replay yourself with a TV card.
2. Send your replay file to someone else to kindly make a video for you.
3. Swap goal replay files and transfer them to your memory card to view them.
Good post - clears up everything I had a haze before....... well almost........:p

Cheers for that. Glad to help out.
Addition 2:
You cannot play your PS2 games via your PC using an X-Port.
But you can connect your PS2 to a PC monitor using various cabling, which I don't know much about.
This is possibly what they did to show us the new PES3 pics. Either that or they ran the program on a PC.
I should be getting an X-Port soon. It's my birthday in a week so that means money!
it could have been a digital camera or a screenshot off the production line.

I ordered an X-Port over a week ago and it's still out of stock. How frustrating!

Are there any files anywhere for those of us in the States with WE6 International?
you could try showusmiracle.com or a google search.
Doxology

I already tried Google...and showusmiracle.com says: Do you accept replays scored on Winning Eleven 6 International (US Release) or have any plans for an option file? Sorry but I don't accept replays scored on WE6I or have any plans to produce an option file for the game.

It's all there.
Doxology, sorry that they don't support your version.
Maybe consider playing the more popular versions?
Or you can start up something and be in charge of all files to do with your version.
well no ones gonna be bothered to post that info again so just read the first post.

Try the downloads page of Showusmiracle, they have a link to a WE6I file (bit outdated though).
Also, if you fancy some interesting changes (the whole of the Prem for example), try this thread:

Make sure you read the whole thread as the first post was before an update.

Im gonna have to get me an x-port - the hours of my life i have spent editing!!
http://www.play.com/play247.asp?page=search&adudisc=y
Get it from play.com = 17.99. Cheapest around.
I ordered my X-Port from www.play.com
I had a long wait though as it was out of stock for ages. I finally got it last Saturday. It's extremely useful!
is it available in India?
Zygalski
17-08-2003, 07:23
We're not sure if it is available in shops in the UK which is why everyone who has one has ordered it from the

X-Port help required!
I'm using it as normal. The memory card - the one with all my PES/WE data - causes the X-Port program to crash when it tries to connect to the card. But the other memory card works fine.
Have checked the memory card. There is about 900KB free and there are no corrupted data files.
I've tried restarting the PC and reinstalling the software but the same thing happens. One mem card works and the other doesn't.
Any ideas on what is wrong?
(BTW, sorry to everyone else who is thinking of getting an X-Port but this is the first and only problem I've had with it for over 6 months)
Cheers.
Zygalski
19-08-2003, 19:43
OK. Figured it out with some help.
The WE7 files on the memory card causes the program to crash. Very strange. Taking them off the card fixes it.
Hopefully we'll get this sorted soon.
If anyone has any ideas for sorting this or if they have this problem too, please share your experience.
This is how I figure it:
Memory card with no WE7 files = fine.
With WE7 files -> causes program to crash so you can't upload or download new files until you remove them.
Noonster19
20-08-2003, 10:27
If I buy an X-Port can I still us the option File thats available then, or is it going to crash everytime I try to copy it onto the memory card?
Zygalski
20-08-2003, 10:54
You can copy anything TO the card. At the moment there is a problem taking anything off a memory card with WE7 files but this doesn't affect everyone so there should be a way to sort it out soon.

OK thanks allot mate, I better get my Xport ordered then...... I guess I can share/Download goals also.....
(OFF TOPIC) Do other games support Xport also..... or is my £17.99 just gonna be used for this??
Zygalski
20-08-2003, 12:23
You can use X-Port for ANY PS2 memory card saves to backup onto PC.
Or you can download some files with cheats activated from various sites. Yes you can swap goals and basically all your files too.
Noonster19
20-08-2003, 12:31
Right Im going to Play.com to order it, sounds like its gonna be worth the money, really fancy showing people my goals, and being able to download the latest Options files etc.....
Might have to order a DVD film while im there.
Thanks for the help mate. :)

I really need help, i've installed my X-Port but how do you Backup game saves from your memory card to your PC ?
Coz i can't see WE7 in the games menu.
I can also see games that i don't have nor have ever played, why is this ?
And why can i not see some of my memory card saves like GTA Vice City and GT 3 their ????????????/
Zygalski
20-08-2003, 14:55
At the top click 'SAVES' and then at the bottom on the left there is an option to connect to memory card. Try it. Once connected, you should probably backup files one at a time so you can names them (if they're from the same game)
Copy the downloaded WE7 option file to the savedgames folder so you can send it to your memory card.
Be Careful not to click on Format or Delete!!
I think it's quicker to delete using the PS2 browser screen rather than the X-Port.
Let us know how it goes.
georginho
20-08-2003, 15:00
OH, (dumbass i am)
btw would you recomend that i back up everything on my memory card ?
And what about configuration ?
georginho
20-08-2003, 15:03
Right, so i save my PES2 Goal Replay's (there's some belters in there) one bye one ???
And do they go into my folder as soon as they have saved ?
And do you rename them when their in your folder or do you rename them on the X-Port conrol screen ?
Zygalski
20-08-2003, 15:07
If you do it 1-by-1 you'll know which slot number they are from so you can name the files properly. Otherwise you won't know which is which as they get similar names.
What I do is back them up 1-by-1 with the slot number: "PES2 Goal - 14"
and then I check what the goal was like in the replay mode and then I change the file name to:
"PES2 Goal - 14 - Beckham Free Kick"
Something Like that.
Best to only rename the filename (.xps) I reckon.

Do you mean you look at the goals on the WE7 goal replays, or can you do it on the X-Port Control screen ?
Coz i don't know what the goals are like to name them.
Zygalski
20-08-2003, 15:28
Save them and make sure you label them with the slot name (1-36 or something).
Then load up PES/WE and use the goal gallery option to view the goals so you know which is which before you delete them. You can only view the goals in the game.
georginho
20-08-2003, 15:32
Yeah that's what i thought you meant,
but how do you know which goal is which by looking at a saved file in the (savedgames) folder ? (hope you know what i mean)
Coz i wouldn't know what..... say a ronaldo goal was in the savedgame folder if it was only labled PES2 Goal Replay 12 etc.
Zygalski
20-08-2003, 15:36
You know which it is because the X-port tells you the position number for each replay/formation file from 1-36. Name it when you backup and you should be OK from then on. This is why it's best to do them one at a time. Is that OK?
georginho
20-08-2003, 15:54
Okay that's the goals saved.
I thought you meant the numbers on the file side.
So i just delete the goals on my memory card
now.
How do i send them and formations to people on the web ?
And off topic but i got an RGB Cable, but it plays the WE7 in a wide screen mode and i'm losing a lot of the screen area, do you know if you can fix this ?
btw i have a 27inch (diagonaly) TV if that helps.
Zygalski
20-08-2003, 16:01
Just zip up the .xps files and you can email them to people or upload them to your web space and share a link to it. I use www.frutsel.org for this.
There is an option in the Main Options to fix the screen a bit. The bottom option. You can move it around a bit and it saves the new position (don't use X to exit or it won't save it).
Hope this helps.
I'm off to go home now.

Btw i have a really good (PES2 Option File) that i used before i got WE7 if anyone is still playing PES2 and wants every name correct, Loads of players attributes updated, changed to correct boots for the player same as they ware in real life, and updated flags and team strips team names formations and new players replacing old players up until a couple of weeks ago (Salas at River Plate, Teves at Boca, Ronaldinho at Barca and Ronaldo and Beckham at Real Madrid starting line up etc) all updated buy me, then i'll try and get it posted either today or as soon as i can.
IT'S ONE OF THE BEST PES2 OPTION FILES OUT THEIR !
YOU HAVE TO HAVE AN X-PORT THOUGH
£17.99 from www.play.com

georginho
20-08-2003, 16:55
Zygalski, how do you get the files onto the futsel website once you've zipped the option file ?
Coz i use winzip and i double click on the (option file) icon in my folder and then i click on it in winzip but the X-Port Menu Screen comes up.
Coz i want to put my PES2 option file on it so i can post a link here.
Zygalski

What I do is this:
Right click on the file and then go to:
'Send To' -> 'Compress (zipped) Folder'
This gives you a .zip
At frutsel, Click on the 'Browse' button and find your file then click 'Upload'.
Then post a link to the file by: Right clicking on the link in frutsel and 'Copy Shortcut' and paste it into your message.
Give it a try. Best option file so far would be the beta version by MrCoopz (or my updated version which I can't transfer!)

81,000 WEN available and almost everything already bought from the shop.
A few player stat updates.

There's a lot that needs to be done to that.
It needs a lot of the line ups changed and players positions changed, but the falgs and strips are good also the classic teams and players save a bit of time.
But i am going to update it quite a bit as their is a lot to be improved.

Won it at work. We all put about 60p per week and it gets draw fortnightly. Twice in a row. 1st time I got second prize (£30). As you can imagine, everyone loves me at the minute
Zyg, I've just ordered an X-port today from Play. My question is this: Which option file do you normally use and where can I get it? I had a quick look on a link from an earlier post at showusmiracle.com (I think it was called) and they did'nt really confirm what was on. :(
Is there a one with all players correct and strips, flags etc updated?
And one more. If I found a file with all the players names entered but no flags is it possible to mix or use my already personal edited file aswell or does this not work?
Thanks in advance....... :)

and i have updated the lineup's with all of the new players in their new clubs, for the Spanish, English, Italian teams, and some other team lineups and kickers updated to be more realistic (i watch a lot of Spanish, English, Italian football so their correct.)
The file was mostly alright anyway i've just FINE TUNED it by sorting things out like boots, hair etc and the things mentioned above.
YOUR BETTER TO HAVE AN UPDATED OPTION FILE THAN AN ORIGINAL IN MY VIEW.
But the only thing is, as of this moment when i try to go to the frutsel website, it says bad gateway, so i CAN'T post the link of it until this problem is solved.
BUT you can get the file by giving me your email address and i'll email it to you zipped.
BTW i've got a goal that i scored with Burgos (Goalkeeper) for Atletico Madrid aswell if you want that too (he comes up for a corner at 1 - 1 v Roma in injury time and get's his hat wearing head on it and wins the game 2 - 1 for me.)
Zyg, what's been updated on that 2nd evo web file ?
It'd be good if it does work but we can't tell unless someone tries it.
You should ask some people who have the Pro evo 3 preview code on evo-web to try it zy.

If you mean the file they released last Monday (25th July) then the second one is much better. There's info on it in the thread. Their boots aren't too good though.
geroginho, you edited the first evo file? Maybe you should check the second one... actually, let's all wait for the third one since the transfer window is now shut.
I'm interested in your goals but my X-Port ain't too working. Email me your goals and I'll check them when I can.
EDIT- Sure Jag, like they'd listen to me! I'm not too bothered about it anyway. It would probably be quicker and easier to edit in-game.

ZYGALSKI I CAN'T GET YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS FROM THIS SITE.
NO !!!
I updated the 2nd option file, so my version is probably the most updated file at the moment until the Evo Web v.3 option file comes out mate.
I've done all the transfers up to TODAY already mate.
I don't want to keep downloading option files with transfers done, coz i can do them myself with the help of a couple of websites.
And i've updated SO much, like over 100 players attributes and boots and hair etc, and i don't want to download a new option file with transfers done, BUT with all the boots and attributes not updated, coz then i'll have to do the boots etc ALL OVER AGAIN, coz everyone has different opinions of what players attributes should be modified to.
But i think my worldwide football knowledge makes my option file as realistic as it get's for a football game.
Coz i know what hundreds of players from all over the world are like, coz i've seen them play a lot, (obviously not everyone but lot's) unlike some of these guys who come on the forums and SAY they know the correct starting lineups, when really their just going buy what they seen in 1 or 2 games.

I got your option file and goal. Will check them when I get a chance.
To contact Kezman:-

I received an email from showusmiracle yesterday. It was from dar@showusmiracle.com
I'm guessing the 'mart' email account is full of goals at the moment?!
I uploaded my sig picture to frutsel.org (which isn't working at the moment - can't seem to get into it) and pasted the link into my signature.

WE7 - X-port Problems
Anybody having x-port problems with WE7?
well i was and think i may have found the solution
i was ecountering the following error
"Sharkport has encountered an error and will have to close, sorry for any inconvenience"
I found that by removing all WE7 files it fixed the problem and stated working again, but when i put the WE7 files back on it stopped again.
I then formatted my spare memory card and put the WE7 files on - now it works fine.
conclusion - if you have a spare memory card, format it and use it only for WE7.
if you don't have a spare on - format your only mem card and use it only for WE7 - after all WE7 is the only game you need till PES3 right
======================
Sounds good. I think I need to get a new memory card though. 2 ain't enough these days.
:D My X-port is awaiting unopened at home as I type this! I am like a little kid at christmas at the moment! 1 hour until we are united! :D :D
Zygalski, how to format your goals so you can see them on your pc? i have a vga card and the x-port is coming.
Which programs you must use ore what else i dont know.
thanks.
You have to play the replay on the TV and connect the TV with the PC via a TV-card so you can record the replay as an avi or mpeg file.
thats shit, then i while have to plug that whole f*cking cable in mine pc and have to install.
Butt thanks for your reply larsson appreciated.
cheers
Hope there was nothing wrong with my explanation, I´m not an expert in these things but somebody explained it to me.
i will give it a try soon as i get mine x-port. and i will let it know...

To be able to view your goals on your PC, you only need a PC TV card and not an X-Port.
X-Port is only for the transfer of memory card files, not viewing.
Zy do you heard something about X-Port problems with PES3-files like we had problems with WE7? And do you know if there is an update for the X-Port software to fix that problem coz it´s quite annoying if you want to save your replays on your PC and the software is crushing down.
Zygalski
14-09-2003, 20:38
Haven't heard any problems for PES3 yet but we won't know till the game is out.
Seems like formatting your memory card will fix this crashing problem if you have it.
Of course it fixes the problem, I know that, but my problem is that I want to transfer my files to my PC to save them there, I don´t want to delete them, this way the X-Port is useless for me, I can have only one option file and only a couple of replays.
Zygalski
14-09-2003, 21:16
Maybe if you transfer the WE7 files temporarily to another memory card, format the first mem card and then transfer them back, everything will be cool.
Know about this method, but I don´t have a second mem card, I don´t have to much games so one card is enough. I´m looking for an x-Port software update, if you find it somewhere please pm me or post it here
Zygalski
14-09-2003, 21:36
There is no update and I haven't heard any other method to fix this problem. Borrow a mem card if you can.
To be able to view your goals on your PC, you only need a PC TV card and not an X-Port.
X-Port is only for the transfer of memory card files, not viewing.
Yeah ok but you can use for it right?? and as larsson said must you first look the goal on your tv and then you have a videoformat and you canwatch it on your pc and put it on internet or something?
Cheers

I'm not too sure what you mean GFK.
mine english isnt that good he :p
But you said :
To be able to view your goals on your PC, you only need a PC TV card and not an X-Port.
But you can use your x-port for watching goals on your tv right?
No you can´t GFK. X-Port is for connecting PC with the console in order to trade files (use your PC as a huge memory card). Viewing goals on the PC must be done with a TV-card, I´m not 100% sure about this procedure, you can transfer goals via X-Port to your PC but then you have them on the hard disk in X-Port-files-format, and in order to watch them on PC you need them in video format (avi or mpeg), so you need the TV-Card
Zygalski
15-09-2003, 19:40
If you have goal files on your PC, you can use the X-Port to transfer them to your memory card. Then you have to load up the appropriate PES/WE game and go to Goal Replay mode to watch the goal as you normally would.
You need to run the game to watch the goals.
Yes i understand the working of a xport zygalski. But im only wondering if someone else could see mine videos for example i have a very strange goal with vieri and i would like to know your thoughts about it. So when i have mine goal replays in x-port file and i want you to see mine goal for example could i manage mine x-port file by myself and put them in a video file ( avi for example)
Do you understand? its difficult to say what you wanna say in a different language
I hope you understand,
Thanks!
Zygalski
15-09-2003, 20:30
The easiest way would be for you to transfer the X-Port goal file to your PC and then email the goal to someone else so they can transfer it to their memory card and watch it.
Either that or you make an avi video yourself and then share this video - but this doesn't require an X-Port at all.
yeah i understand it thanks zygalski! One question is it difficult to transfer a x-port file to an for example avi file???
Im going to use the x-port for the space, so i can save all mine goals!
Cheers
mine 200th post YES

I believe he is from Austrailia and wanted an X-port or replica thing over there. So then, Zyg asked him if it was pal or NTSC in Aussie.......... unsure if it was in this thread or another.
Aha if it is so then it is so..............:)
Very helpful info there Zyg.
Thanks!
sorry 4 the confusion boys
yeh it did strat in another thread but i was told 2 put it in here
There is a software for the X-Port available in the download section at www.codejunkies.co.uk , could it be helpful for the people with WE7-X-Port problems ? What do you think Zy or someone else who has knowledge about the X-Port

larsson, if you mean the stuff at http://uk.codejunkies.com/downloads.asp?c=GB&cr=GBP&cs=£&r=1&l=1
then this doesn't help matters for WE7 errors.
If you mean another thing to download, please give a link as the codejunkie site is a big pain to try to find stuff in. Cheers.
To me it seems that saving goal replays causes problems with X-Port. Other files are fine.

Questions from an Australian PS2 user.
1. Does anyone know where an X-Port can be purchased, either online or in store (Sydney)?
I checked Play.com and they only deliver to Europe. Play Asia only have NTSC X-Ports.
2. Is the PAL X-Port compatible with NTSC roster/option files. I guess it is if you have WE7 and PES working.
Thanks.
PS World Cup Rugby starts tomorrow, whoopeeeeee!

WE7 files do work in a PAL X-Port. I think all X-Port files with work for both PAL and NTSC versions - you may just need to get the one that works for you.
Is Australia PAL or NTSC?
Maybe http://www.gameshark.com/productinfo/
or www.codejunkies.com/ can help you find more delivery options.
Let us know how it goes.
According to Play.com my X-port was posted today, so it's arrival should nicely coincide with PES3, with any luck. Is there a thread for available option files with correct names, transfers etc?

Check the Editing section for option files and stuff like that. There isn't a retail version option file just yet. pesfan will release one on the day of release. I might put my current one in there just for fun (in case pesfan get delayed or something).

so what do you need to be able to use patches.
Zygalski
17-10-2003, 00:52
To patch, you need:
1. An image of the original disk on your PC,
2. The patch,
3. ppf-o-matic V3 - the patching program.
4. A CD-Writer and a blank CD to write the patched version onto.
5. A patching guide such as the one at:

(It's for WE6:FE but the same principles apply for newer games too).

As of 4:30pm today - out of stock, 3 to 28 days
I ordered it on the 10th, it was "sent" on the 12th and I got it (although they sent the wrong thing) on the 17th, so it takes a week I guess when it's in stock.

is there any chance that u could just use a usb cable so u dont have 2 get and xport cable.

i was just browsing another ISS site when i was reading about Patchin.
I seem to be missing something so some help is needed to answer these Questions about X-Port.
Q1. Once I have An X-Port,Can i download the Latest Option File,And This Will depending what it contains..update My Game.
Q2. I saw ppl talking about Patching etc etc, and how i need to burn things etc..this i dont want as my PC is rather shaky and unstable when burning stuff.
Q3. Basically Once I have X-Port Can i get updated Teams,Formations STRIPS!!!! and logos?????..WITHOUT NEEDING TO BURN STUFF ETC ETC.
as u can tell im quite a newbie when it comes to this sort of Stuff..altho ive owned nearly every ISS since the beginning of Super nintendo..ahaah
Please someone answer these questions.
Thank You.
1. You can download updated Option Files for PES3, so eg. you don´t have to do the transfers for yourself.
2. Don´t understand the question mate :) Actually there is no question ;)
x-Port has nothin´ to do with patches
3. See 1. You can update everything via X-Port that you can edit in the ingame-editor.
New sounds, orignial-kits and stuff you cannot transport via X-Port, you need to patch your game for it.
craigcl1
19-10-2003, 01:10
Does it make the strips as real looking as possible tho without the use of patches.?
Zygalski
19-10-2003, 06:11
Using an X-Port file for kits will give you what someone else (possibly me!) has created using the PES3 edit mode and that is all. This will save you time in searching for the correct details and inputting them into the game. A lot of the kits I've adjusted on the option file do look very realistic (with no sponsors on though).
When burning anything on your PC, you should not use any other programs as this uses up your memory etc and causes problems with burning. If you use only the burning program with nothing else running, you should have no problems.

yes u put the pes3 data onto ur memory card using the x-port, and this makes everything updated. having an xport also makes ur entire hard drive on ur pc a memory card essentially.

play.com received more X-Ports on Wednesday but I guess those went out to people who had ordered them previously. I'd recommend you to order one and then you will get it in the next batch. Either that or you can try buying it from somewhere else like www.codejunkies.com but it will be more expensive there. Good luck.
can u use your x-port to save option files for other games? and if so what websites provide these downloads? also, can anyone tell me whether more and better option files will be released for PES3 as i'm still not sure whether to buy an x-port just to download one option file. thanks.
u can use an x-port for all games, keeping back ups of memory card freeing up space.
Anyone know of any links for PRO EVOLUTION SOCCER 3 kit updates?

UberOne, PES3 Option file updates can be found in the Editing section.
GFK, I think you are getting the error due to having WE7 files on your mem card? If this is right, then you'll have to delete all the WE7 files except the option file to make it work.

So i should remove all we7 files ( replays, training save, ml etc.) except the option file?? And should i also delete WÊ6FE files??

That's what happened to me. The option file (the evo-web one) is fine. But definitely the goals and ML cause the program to crash for some reason. But you don't have to delete them completely. If you have another mem card, you can transfer the files to that one (but then that one won't work on the X-Port).
It's a strange situation and this is the only game that causes X-Port a few problems. It could be due to the patches but I'm not sure.
Once your mem card is free of WE7 saves, it will work fine :)

Just one query is the disc with the PC software on the same as that that goes in the PS2 ? as I only have one disc.
Thanks
Luke
You should have 2 different discs - one says "PC' the other "PS2". Loading the PC disc in the PS2 will lead to problems.

I have lost my PS2 disc. Does anybody know where I can download it, so that I can burn it onto Cd. Alternatively is there any other software available that I can use as I have the X-Port cable etc (just have the PS2 disc missing!).
Hey guys,
just got my x-port 2day but i cannot get it to work no matter what!! I know there are other posts regarding this problem but none of the suggestions work!!
the problem is the usb error connecting toPS2!
I have manually installed the drivers as well as cleaning USB ports & everything else suggested + i have no WE7 save games on my memory card, but still it doesnt work!!
The only thing i can think is that i have a PES3 option file already on my memory card, would this cause the problem or have i just got a duff x-port??
Please help or it`s going back to play & i ain`t getting another one!!
where did u get ure x port from ?

Try using the X-Port with another memory card, maybe try to borrow one just to check it out. Maybe try connecting it to another USB port. Do you have the PS2 connected to a TV? If not you need to wait over 30 seconds after having turned on the PS2 with the PS2 X-Port disk in it to make sure it's all loaded properly.
Does anybody know if there is such a device (X-Port) here in OZ?

I've had similar problems "USB error connecting to PS2" using XPort V1 with the V2 update downloaded from codejunkies and drivers manually installed etc., with my windows 2000PC. So now I'm ordering the complete V2 discs etc, hopefully that will solve my problem.
Yep, WHL, XPort is available in Oz. Try 'The Gamesman', that's where I got mine from (mind you, it doesn't work)
X-Port is back in stock At play.com for £17.99

sorry excuse me if these have already been asked- but im new to the x-port and was wondering
-if it has an OFFICIAL site?
-Or is there a main website where you can get all the downloads?
-And finally how many games does the x-port work with?
the x-port has a site (which i carnt rember off the top of my head) but u can get x-port file off other sites as well, the x-port is a bit of kit that tranfres memory card data, so all game work with it. it mostly used to back up memory card on to a computer (so u get a huge memory card without the cost) and also like in the case of pes 3, u can download a option file to put on your memory card, hope that helps!!

For X-Port stuff, you can check out www.codejunkies.com
www.showusmiracle.com is good for PES & WE related files.
An X-Port will work with any and all PS2 files on your PS2 memory card.

mightybees, you can go to this thread (http://forum.pesinsight.com/showthread.php?t=2381) for PES3 option files. The later ones are the better ones. Or you can get some from www.showusmiracle.com
Once you've downloaded the option file, unzip it and copy the .xps file into your X-Port Savedgames folder.
After connecting the PS2 to your PC, run the X-Port software and then you can send the option file to your memory card. It will ask you if you want to overwrite your current option file. If you've done some work on it before, you may want to backup your option file first. Once you've transferred the new file to your mem card, you're ready to play.

You should have received 2 CDs with your X-Port. One with redbox at the bottom is for installing the X-Port program onto your PC.
Connect your PS2 to your PC using the X-Port and the USB cables.
Turn on the PS2 and put in it your X-Port PS2 disk - it says "X-PORT" in big letters and near the bottom in a blue box it says "FOR USE ON EUROPEAN CONSOLE".
Wait for this to load.
Unzip the option file you have downloaded and copy it into your X-Port Savedgames folder. It would be easiest if there is only one PES3 option file in this folder.
Load the PC program for the X-Port software. And then Locate the PES3 Option file in the menu. It should be the one you put in the Savedgames folder. Click on RESTORE and it should send it to your memory card. It will ask you if you want to over-write your current option file. Click YES. (If you did a lot of work on your own option file, make a save of it first).
That should be it.

Please help guys

mattyrozza, to update like you metioned, you need to patch it. Guides for patching your game can be seen in the Editing section.
You need a PS2 that can play imported/patched games either by being chipped or modded. Follow the guide to make a CDrip of your PES3 DVD. Then follow the patching guide to patch your CDrip and then you can play it once you've burned your patched version. If you need any help on these methods, ask in the Editing section and people should be around to help. You can also check out jag87's thread on the various methods you can use to play imported/patched games. Good luck :)

This is the first time I've heard of an X-Link.
Just saw:

It does seem to be very similar to X-Port. It says it can do the same things.

Have U heard of this before?
And is the "ultimate update disc" different from an X-Port?

Ultimate update disc is very bad from what i have heard. An Xport is much better and you can use yyour xport also for other games. The ultimate update is just for PES and for nothing else.

You can download PES3 PS2 option files. That's the whole point of using an X-Port. So you can send the option file to your PC, then email or upload it for others to download and send to their mem card using their X-Port.
All option files only contain what you can edit normally in the in-game edit mode. You can't add sponsors in the edit mode so you can't have an option file with sponsors on it either.
To get sponsors, you need to patch your game. Patching info is in the Editing section of the forum.

cheers Zyg that was a lot of help.(not being sarcastic) So really all u can do with the X-port is like upload option files that dont have sponsors or anything?can i not download WE7 files on to it?(stupid question prob, but i need to know!)
Zygalski
22-12-2003, 19:51
Yes, you can download memory card files for any PS2 games. Then hook up your X-Port and transfer the files to your memory card. PES, PES2, PES3, PES4, WE6:FE, WE7 and so on. The best WE7 option file around is in a sticky thread in the Editing section of evo-web.
X-Port is only for the transfer of files between your memory card and PC hard disk. The editing of these files is done as normal on someone's PS2. Using an X-Port saves you many hours of editing your game and it is useful for storing all your mem card files on your PC - such as all the amazing goals we all score every day!

I have a Qn about "Option file".
What does it include?
- Created players?
- Trophies?
- ML Teams?
- Secret players?
- Replays?
If there's an Option file with correct names, flags etc., but no trophies, it means that if I use it, I would not have the trophies?
There can only be 1 Option file, so the downloaded one will overwrite the one with trophies, created players???
Got my X-Port for christmas!

Yes, there can be only one PES3 option file on a single memory card. You could also have another option file for PES1, PES2 and WE7 on the same mem card but only one option file per game.
If you save a new option file, it overwrites the previous one.
The option files do include all details of players (appearances, created ones and all), teams (kits, formations, flags and all), PES-shop (items bought), trophies. It does not include replays or saved games like Cups, Leagues, ML mode or Challenge Training. When you save a new option file to your mem card, the files for Formations, Cups, Replays etc are all stored in the same slots as they were before, when on yours. You will have just updated all the details that have been manually edited by the other person.
It depends on which option file you download. Some have trophies unlocked and some do not. If you check out Georginho's option file for PES3 in the Editing section (sticky thread) it has most trophies won and most shop items bought. Last month, I bought everything from the shop and when I saved his new option file to my mem card, there were still a few things unbought. Probably because I (and my brother) play the game more than he does so we have been gaining more PES points. But the items are easy to save up for again and have been bought.
Hope this helps.

And good luck, jag87 on Ur new X-Port!!!
I got the X-port and an re-conditioned console from Sony.
So, I had a look at Georginho's option file (transfers done, classic teams, not the retired players, nice flags and lovely boots!).
I think PES3 will always save the option file to Block 36 on the card in slot 1, so I switched the card I normally have in Slot 2 over to 1, and loaded up Georginho's file to that Memory Card.
So I have my original option file data on one card, and Georginho's on the other. That way I can switch between them by switching the console off (don't forget!), then swapping the cards over.
Oh, I labelled them with a paint pen, so they aren't mixed up!

You can also load the other option file by going to the main Option menu or in Edit mode and select to Load Option File. This will save you the time of re-loading the whole game. Best to make sure that the Auto-Save function is turned off so you don't lose either of your files though.

OK. Hook up your PS2 to your PC using the X-Port in the USBs.
Put in the X-Port disk into your PS2 (the one with blue writing "For use on European Console" and after a minute, load the PC X-Port software. Once it's loaded, you click on the button that is 'MEM CARD' in the bottom left area. Now you can see the files in your memory card. Add a tick to the one you want to transfer and click "Backup" in the top left. The file will be sent to your X-Port 'savedgames' folder on your PC.
Hope that helps.

I had a look at the Xploder bundle in Game, it looked like it would do the same as an x-port. With the bundle, you also get a Save Manager facility to zip (and unzip) games saves to and from the memory card. That sounded useful.
If anyone has tried these items, did they do the job - transferring files between PCand PS2, and what about the Save Manager?

I have searched high and low all over the net and shops... and it is impossible to find an XPort in Australia... i have had to order mine from the US via Ebay for about $32 Australian + postage which is a bit pricey... close to $30 Australian...
Hi All,

I think it may work with a PC emulator but I'm not certain of that. There aren't any extras when using updated option files. You only get what you can edit in Edit mode. Kits with logos etc and other jazziness comes from patching your game.
Thats great Z. I have the new version of virtual PC, Althoughit is tiresomely slow, It will be worth suffering for all the goodies. Good things come to those who wait & shy boys dont get any sweets and all that.
