Has anyone here heard of Gmail? It's the e-mail service from Google that gives anyone who signs up 1000 MB of space, compared to hotmails 2 mb of space. It's still in its Beta testing stage, so it's super exclusive, the only way you get it is to get an invite from someone already with it, they got it straight from a Google worker.

I just got an invite from some guy, I offered a link to a site where you get a Vaio laptop for 40 dollas. It's got some great features that others don't have, you can search through all your mail using a google-esque search engine, it does some crazy thing I'm yet to figure out where you can sort your mail into separate conversations.

I didn't need all the extra space, I just wanted it because it was so exclusive. :D

I'd like to find out more about this. Sounds interesting. Is the 1000mb exclusively for emails or can you use it as a file dump as well?

I think it's only for e-mails, I'm not quite sure though. I haven't seen any options to upload anything yet.

I'd stick to yahoo anyway. Cause they upgraded their memory limit to 100 mb too.

Bah like you could fill up your inbox with 1000mb of emails :o

How big is the attatchment size limit in your mails, if it's higher then Hotmails frankly rather shit 1.something mb then that's good news

That's the thing, I don't need it, the only thing I use e-mail for it talking to a few of my friends, I hardly have more than 10 messages in my inbox at a time. It's just the fact that it was so hard to get that made me crave it like a vampire craves the blood of virgins.

Click-a-roo (http://gmail.google.com)

They say it's going to be free.

And razor, I wouldn't have a problem giving anyone any invites, but I don't have any yet. I've heard that google just gives them to it's members at random. I would give them to anyone that asks after a few of my friends get them.

Don't you just have to register an MSN passport with your gmail address?

Trying tapping in your gmail address and password into MSN Messenger. See if that works, a window might pop up prompting you to register a Passport.

My Hotmail account was recently upgraded (by them, I've never paid) from 2MB to 200MB. Personally, much more is a bit ridiculous unless you're receiving full-length movies or games via email.

I noticed that. I have been on gmail for months and haven't used it a single time. Seems very wastefull. I can't find where to invite people.
