I'm making a final version now. ALL the teams are falling into place.

found it so strange before, why dit they edit the place of the leagues? in the part where they show the screen where you can choose your team, the italian league was lined up first, than dutch, then spanish, english, france and germany. On this pic (league format), They first have england, than France, than Germany, than Spain, Holland, and last Italy. Because they had'nt had the licenses on this pic!, im sure this screen is changed afterwards, and now does have the correct line up, (italian, dutch, spanish, english, france and germany) Anybody understand me?

Yeah, I think the picture where there's only two sections is for Exhibition matches, and where there are 4 seperate (1/4, 2/4, 3/4, 4/4) is the Master League.

Compare this list with the pictures and aside from a few Spanish teams (who may be mixed up) and a few of the guesses at the bottom, and you'll notice that this is pretty much the confirmed list of teams.

I'm almost certain that that's Boca Juniors and River Plate down there. Also very likely Cruzeiro and Santos next to them. Which is excellent news.

(The teams are right, but the screen where we get them from is wrong, because they havent got the licenses here. The final screen is the one from the team-selection in the promo film. The one before you see this screen.The only difference between those are the team line-up and the official flags of Spanish and Italian teams.)In the new line up they are in the order: National Teams (Page 1) Italy, Netherlands, Spain (Page 2), France, Germany (Page 3), 22 Other (Page 4)

Hopefully, Konami in Pro Evolution Soccer 5 or Winning Eleven 9 may branch out to the scandanavian countries. If your adamant enough to have Rosenborg, someone may create a patch for you mate. :)

The one thing above all else I want to see is the ability to put created players into club teams - its the necessary enhancement to last WE7/PES3's belated transfer mode. Does anyone know if this will be implemtented ?

West Ham have been relegated last season, not lately, so thats why theyre not in it jamesdoyle. At the end of the day, theyre not in the premiership, and the trop leagues from last year are in. So they dont deserve to be in it. If reputation alone was enough, we'd also have teams like nottingham Forest in. On reputation terms over the years, Forest are clearly bigger than many of the teams currently in the Prem. So stop whinging :D

This sounds like a pretty cool new feature. Not like on pes3 where it's given offside as soon as the ball crosses the line, another step towards total realism.

I just don´t get the sense of putting 4 South American teams in :rolleyes:
Either put at least 10-12 in, so we can play a little league or cup, or leave it completely out. But not 4.

There's still a chance they might not be 4 South American teams, but it's looking very, very much like it. I searched for other big teams from some of Europe's smaller leagues last night after making the list and none have colours that match those four other than maybe Rosenborg with Santos. But the teams next to that flag wouldn't make sense as anything other than Cruzeiro, so I'm assuming that it is indeed Santos.

I'm certain anyway that my Boca Juniors and River Plate guesses are right because the colours match perfectly and they are right next to each other. Then the next two flags' colours match Cruzeiro and Santos, the two biggest teams in Brazil.

I know it will defenately feel very different from WE7 as always. I saw some vids where you can already see the big difference with WE7. I just think that the vids don't really show the real strenght of the game. I think I can only judge the game by playing it, and I feel like it won't let me down..... :D

When you getr this game - is someone going to put up a list of how the Premiership teams compare to each other in terms of the ability Konami has deemed them worthy? I want to know if theyve got the abilities right, ie - Wolves should clearly be the worst team, Arsenal the best, judging on last season. AND Southampton should be better than Portsmouth (better f*cking be!), as well as Tottenham, Blackburn etc!

Southampton and Pourtsmouth are two very evenly matched teams. I would say Pourtsmouth was the better now with the players they've aquired.

Pretty out of date teams since it takes 8 weeks to get approval. So no Samuel in Real, which tells you where we are at. However the rosters are larger and I was able to load up a large amount of English names from my WE7I save. I just noticed switching players from team to team is VERY easy. In the edit menyu there's a separate option for it and you just click a payer, then select the team you want him and he's there...no need to scroll around for an empty slot where to insert him!!!

The presentation and cut-scenes during gameplay dont interfere with the gamepaly at all, they really help make the athmospere better.

And especially, there is the impression that it is a game quite different from the other episodes (basically other games in the series). ethics forbid me to speak more before the date of official release, but i would like to retranscribe a great moment of loneliness. during the Argentinna - France game, I find myself with Aimar alone at the penalty spot, I believe its off-side. However, I shoot and I score! Large zoom on Aimar who expresses his joy... and who suddenly looks towards the touchline while celerating. i see the linesman which has his flag raised. it was all there to make me believe it was a golad but then i get angry.

I can say to you that it is the most realistic game that i have known. I can also insist on the fact that the vidéos are misleading: it is incredibly different from all the other episodes in terms of gameplay.

is patching for this game going to have to be done on DVD's cause i am going to need to buy a dvd writer then. i cant see any way of being able to rip the dvd onto cd if there is no foreign commentry to be taken out. has anyone got any idea whether this game will be able to get ripped or not?

Yes most likely a DVD will be needed. Unless rippers will rip the commentary and music etc to make it fit on a normal CD...

Christiano - Southampton are clearly better than portsmouth, having finished above them every year for decades, and being in the FA cup final and the UEFA cup last season. How can you not rate Beattie, who has scored over 40 in his last two seasons, or philips, playing some of his best football ever? Anti Niemi, best goalkeeper in the premiership according to many people? Anders + Michael Svensson, both regular Swedish First teamers, aswell as new boy Mikael Nilsson, who played very minute for them at Euro 2004?

If you dont know what youre talking about dont say anything. They wrent a lot worse than us, but they clearly are still not the club or team we are. So theyd better not be rated as highly.

About the new dribbles...to be honest, I dont know how to do them yet...I've seen some nice individual animations on Ronaldo, but as for the new tricks I dunno how to do them yet...the pratice mode is Extensive with loads of tips on how to do everything complete with examples so I'm gonna have to check that out in more in-depth.

There IS a lot of different animations for moves..so not everyone crosses in the same way...some players lean back, some like Ronaldo pass more on their outer sole of the foot (which looks really cool, just like he did at Euro 2004).

Based on about 7 years of playing the series I'd have to say I've never had had this good first impression on the game...like in WE7I in the ball's bouncing off players and difficult to dribble things caught my eye, but in WE8 nothing feels wrong..but that's after 6 matches. The ball physics are great...as is the player movement. Like in WE7I you can cause free-kicks by just running into players without using X or a tackle. But it feels really right here whereas in WE7I it was a bit uneven.

Heading is improved over WE7I too.

I've tried long pass methods 1 and 5. Now with 1 you can centre the ball quite accurately. The Short passing seems more accurate too, actually a whole lot more accurate.

The players faces look really, really good. Scholesy looks incredible. Also the jerseys get dirties (socks and shorts so far) and it looks great. Also there are creases in the shirt textures and small bits like that.

The AI feels really good...the centrebacks seem better, they didnt get out of position that bad. You can also control the keeper by pressing L1 and Triangle, when you do that you can control him fullly, so I tried that in a one on one situation and it worked great!

Trading players into other teams is SO painless now. Just click on a team, then player, then the team you want him in and thats' it. The empty slots are automatically filled. None of this pain in the ass scroll down, find empty slot etc crap.

I dont have the capability of taking videos (frustrates me too) and to be blunt, I dont care about the variety of boots. Though Beck's Adida's look exactly right

Couple of weird things...I dont where the stadium change and difficulty level options are yet

Considering this is the first person not completely inebriated and able to string a few coherent words together about the actual GAME, then it does sound like the game is going to be fantastic.

I won't be eating any pies Travis, because I never condemned the game - all I said is the videos were unimpressive, and not to go over the top on how good its going to be when we know little about it in terms of how it plays. I comment on what I see, not on what might happen or on past performances, its called objectivity you might want to try it.

Looking forward to his full report eh!

P.S - what he said about the player swap thing is brill. It would of taken a good few hours to get the Chelsea team up to date :D

No...what has happened in the past or what might happen is a matter of opinion, therefore if you take it into account then that is subjectivity. For example you might think PES1,2,3 is the best thing sliced bread therefore PES4 is likely to also be the best thing since sliced bread, however a FIFA fan may of despised PES1,2,3 and therefore decide that PES4 is going to be terrible as well.

The bugs are minor and seem to happen when there SHOULD be slowdown. those areas(especially in real life )get kicked/headed into too fast to get a defensive or offensive reaction. All I gotta say is this Riot guy has been class so far. Real cool overview.

The servers are overloaded and you won't be able to download it until someone puts up a new mirror. You may as well note even try and download it because by the time its finished the game will be out.

@Prandelli - It is an MPEG file. You should be alright playing it on WMP. If not, then download the Kazaa Lite Codec pack as there is every player for every type of file in it.

It ran fine for me. The usualy cheesy style konami videos which dont make the game look its best. But even with that it still looked fantastic.

Gameplay....ACE!! Forever I've been asking and moaning about the speed of the gameplay...I nearly wet myself when I saw the slow build up by Brazil and not every portugese player darting towards the ball like a stampeding bull :D
