so, i started a master league and did not buy any player...i sucked three long years in the 3. division till i bought a few average dudes and payed them horrible much of money and still sucked...i went bankrupt after the 4. season :)

of course i started new to play away the blame and shut the laughing ps2 up. i bought my "glorious triangle" (blanco, mccarthy, dario silva) and went straight to the 2.division.
2.division seems hard, but we won't go downstairs so fast ;)

did u buy any players?

the best players you can get who is not contracted to a club has got to be rebrov. i try to buy him with every new master league i start. in extreme mode it took a couple of tries but i eventually got him.

Well I went to try and shore up the defence a bit when I started, so I'd recommend Chilavert and Gamarra to start with, seeing as they're not contracted to anyone, and also depending on who you play as check the Freelance players, coz you can sometimes pick up a bargain there

I would recommend Olisadebe from Polen !!!
He has a great strike and is fast !!
And checkout the brazilian tesam for some other great players like Denilson, Dario Silva.
West is also a good defender.

Every time i start a master league i buy El hadji Diouf from Senegal!! He is really fast and he scores many goals!

I have all the players you guys mentioned, Olisadebe and Diouf, up front! I was thinking of going for Rebrov too but Miranda seems to compliment Diouf and Oli on the left and right wing well.

The Free Lance section is always good for bargain buys, also I reccomend picking up a promising player as soon as possible, they're well cheap and can be trained.

I also reccomend buying a Japanese player, in particular H.Nakata. Nearly all the Japs are sell cheap and they're good buys.

Hope that helps:).

Is it just me?? Or are there some players in PES 2, who are much overrated?? Roma´s Casano!!! He is incredible in the game, and he always scores against me!!

Have anyone bought him?? Is he good??

:p
I'd recommend Olisadebe as well. He has electrifying pace that leaves defenders standing, plus he scored four goals (well, I scored them) in one cup game. Also, Brad Friedel has really sured up my defense and has saved the team's skin on more than one occasion, just like in real life.
You can get Edilson (he's called 'Adelson' in the game) quite easily, he's great too.

I started as Man U and bought Ferdinand (who was freelance!) because I feel that defence is very important. He has done wonders for me. Then I bought Stoitchkov to increase my scoring ability and that was that. He scored 4 goals in his first match! Money well spent I believe;)

I then decided to strengthen the midfield and put in a bid for Beckham!? He declined and my midfield is as weak as ever. Any suggestions? Have I spent to much money in one go? This is my first Master League attempt so I'm a little unsure. I have won all but one of my 8 first matches so I feel that I'm on top of things, but I need to know if there's something I'm forgetting.

Cheers:)

When I played the master league I was Liverpool and I bought the actual players that were on the current Liverpool team and in my second season I was promoted and just continued to buy the players and get promoted, but if you don't want to do that I suggest you buy a good keeper first, then concentrate on defence, then buy strikers. Three players I can recommend are Jari Litmanen, Christophe Dugarry and El Hadji Diouf. These three work particularly well together. Put Diouf on the right and Litmanen and Dugarry in the middle and they create some wicked oppotunitys to score!

I usually get Nakata from Japan straight away. He is ridiculously cheap but still performs well.

Juninho Paulista is a must!!, Van der sar is not contracted to ne1, since fulham arnt in the game, (surprise!!)
Emile Mpenza(Belgium) is even better than olisadebe, fast with v.powerful shot!!
Boehme, for germany, useful on the left wing, with very gd free kiks.
Roy keane and gaurdiola are useful if you can accomodate them. i.e playing a DH

if we're talking freebies then in goal it's gotta be Chilavert.
defence probably Suarez of Mexico
midfield fadiga of senegal
attack olisadebe of poland or diouf of senegal

You must buy Yourri Djorkaeff from France :D. He always seems to perform well for me. He is especially good when you play in Div. 3 and when you're just starting out because he's a terrific player for good value wages. Also Issa from South Africa seems to be good for me and Mutu from Romania and Quim from Portugal. They are all free transfers so look out for them when starting an Extreme Mode in Division 3...

i usually play with inter, but i hate the fake dimwits you have to start with. so i sack 7 of them from the first game on, and when the DIV3 transfer window opens i start buying the real team players from the freelance and national team lists. for every player i achieve i sack an old one until i have a realistic team. because the team work skills of all these new players are very low in the beginning, i usually don't promote the first season, but after that everything goes pretty smoothly...

Babangida is always a good first buy because of his versatility. Fadiga is also good to have.

That's a decent team.
If you don't like Diomede why don't you get rid of him?
Give him away for free!

i just did, so subtract ciomede from that team. he was originally there as just another body for suspensions(im a hard tackler, but havent received a straight red in a while, all double bookings) and injuries. instead, im trying to get dyer, is he a bit too good to leave on the bench tho?

I don't like going for the same players every time I start. I know who's available, and I search about for a while.

This time around I've got Magallanes, Joaquín, Sand (scores a ton off of his head), and numerous others. A lot of them have been mentioned already.

Into my second season, and I've already got a team that's been actually bought as opposed to acquired on frees.

GK - Rustu
DC - Chivu
DC - Hyypia
DC - Campbell
DM C - Vogel
DM C - Guardiola/Sergio
ML - Kily Gonzalez
MR - Joaquín
AM C - Aimar
FC - Ronaldinho
SC - Owen

I started as Liverpool (don't ask me why), which allowed me to get Michael Owen, Steven Gerrard (who I sold), Hyypia, Henchoz, etc. I bought Sergio as I was impressed with him in the CL over the past few seasons, and so I made him ever-so-slightly better in the game to reflect it.
