Who you lot think that Chelsea will sign next?

Do you think even though they've got all this money will any of the big stars go there?

i wish theyd take interest in world class players instead of buying for the future (bridge, johnson etc). Duff would be a step forward coz zenden is crap but they should offer dosh for ronaldinho, figo and big names.

Nothing wrong with signing for the future when it will only be a season away. Figo is 32? No point continuing to sign players with short term futures like Chelsea used to?

i spose its not, but it would be nice to be linked with some world class players. No doubt that geremi and duf will improve our squad but id love to see a pires or davids :(

im prepared to give it time though

I don't think they'll be getting huge star names just yet. But buying players like Geremi and Duff puts them in the right direction. Big name players are attracted to clubs with existing good players - Geremi and Duff fit that mould although they are not Zidane-starlilke players, but they will be.

Big name players also like clubs with ambition and Chelsea are showing plenty of that at the moment. All their links with big names in newspapers is ensuring that. £70million for Henry is as ambitious as it is rediculous! Be patient, they're on the up, but it will take time. Money (when used well) does give you success - but it takes time.

I agree... star names do not always brings silverware. Geremi and Duff are absolute quality and sort out the wings in a snap. Look at any player... they had to start somewhere and I don't believe necessarily buying big talent = success. So chill ginja and enjoy the new season!

roy makaay and edgar davids and even man u's seba veron. chelski have the potential to be competing with real madrid if the sign all the players they have been linked with!

Remeber that money can't always buy success. The reason they r in the Champions League this season is that they brought no1 last year and they gelled as a team.

rich_rlc87 - yeah that got to the champions league ok but wot about when theyre in it, they cant succeed with out having some decent talent in the squad. since they were last in the champions league, say 00 or 01, they have lost players since then. they need a player such a luis figo who can teach chelski about the c/l and wot the teams are like.
