Javier Saviola will snub Manchester United and Newcastle United to join Monaco, if he is shipped out by Barcelona.
The diminutive Argentine's future at Camp Nou is cloudy as the Catalan giants want Saviola to accept a pay cut.

His decision to play in next month's Olympic Games has hardly helped his cause for regular playing time in Frank Rijkaard's team this coming season.

Both Barcelona and Saviola have consistently stated their desire to maintain their partnership, despite heavy interest in the attacker.

Barca president Joan Laporta recently acknowledged there have been several offers for Saviola, with Atletico Madrid also in the hunt for the elusive forward.

Saviola's agent Alfredo Cabrera has confirmed Premiership duo - Manchester United and Newcastle - are keen on the 22-year-old, along with Marseille and Monaco.

Cabrera admits Saviola wants to stay at Camp Nou but if he is forced to leave the club, his preferred option is the UEFA Champions League runners-up.

"His first choice is to stay at Barcelona," affirmed Cabrera.

"But I have told him of the interest from Newcastle, Manchester United, Marseille, Monaco and Atletico Madrid.

"And, in case he has to leave, he will choose Monaco."

I bet the Man U fans are gonna be really happy that Saviola rejected them for Monaco. He probably wants to prove his point like Morientes did and thinks he will not get a game at Man U.

I am actually, i'd rather get Rooney at Xmas instead of a player who hasnt played in the Premier League.

Why would anyone want to buy a player who doesnt have the self belief to think theyd get a game at Old Trafford? if they think that, its like saying, sorry, im not good enough for you. Although to be fair, thats just 50!s opinion , Saviola never actually said that.

He probably prefers Monaco because of the sunny weather, i dont want players like that at United.

lol i doubt he even rejected us. i dont think he even had a chance to come and play for united (and thats not being arrogant) he's a very talented player, BUT.......
we now have RVN, saha, smith, solskjaer and forlan is still knocking about. add that to the fact that 2 of those players we've bought since january AND we often only play with 1 upfront, so why would we want to buy another striker?

It makes more sense buying him in the Jan window since his price will be cut down due to him only having 1 year left on his contract.

I dont know why Saviola would want to go to a team playing in the French Leauge though! Football there is rubbish!

exactly! all the good players left the fench league; cisse, anelka, trezeguet etc . .

maybe then it will be easier for him to be the top goal scorer

but its not exactly anything to be proud of isit? surely a player of real quality wants to test himself against the best players in the world, and if your talking about strikers, well surely the premiership has to be the best place to go. i think the premiership boasts many of the worlds greatest centre forwards, as i'm sure most of you will agree, so its got to be a better place to come than france.

if he just wants an "easy" challenge, then in my oppinion, he's not a top player

Don't forgot if he goes to Monaco he's gonna be playing in the champions league (Monaco are in it aren't they? :S ). Some footballers even go to Scotland for that! I doubt he was ever going to Man U and Newcastle are in UEFA.

Moreover. Would be a great signing for Monaco and Saviola.

For Monace they're getting a class player which they really need as they were heavily raped of their top talent.

And Saviola gets to be the main man, not like he would be at Old Trafford, and gets to live tax-free in the playboy capital of the world.

Barca need 'The Rabbit' he just had a fantastic season. Him and Larsson upfront is very promising, selling him is stupid.

Why the hell would he join Newcastle. U already have a problem with Bellamy Shearer and Kluivert. How can u expect to play all 3 of these players and play Saviola??

Somehow I think the "tax-free", "playbaoy capital of the world" had more to do with his decsion!

I mean come on, your Argentinian, probably support Boca or someone, where would you rather play your football?

Newcastle or Manchester?
~OR~
Barcelona or Monaco?

?

Give him the freedom of the midfield, repeatedly stand by him despite shitty performances and then finally giving him the transfer he wanted to our upcoming rivals?

we were such bastards to him.

If however you meant that we would have exposed his inablility to adjust to the english game, then thats another matter. :)
