View Full Version : Barca Lead Bidding War
Paris St Germain president Francis Graille has revealed that Barcelona have moved into the driving seat to sign Manchester United target Ronaldinho. He told PA that the bid from the Spanish giants was 'completely' superior to the offer from United, and that he was keen to get the sale done. Even though Barca have proposed the inclusion of a couple of players as part of their bid, which is believed to be around the £20million mark, PSG are claiming that United must move swiftly to increase their bid.
I hope Barca don't get him, I ronny want's chamions league football he should come to us.
i just read that on teletext aswell ;) i still think he will go to man u though.
Although I'm not a United fan, I hope Ronaldinho does go to Man Utd. It would be great to see him playing on The Premiership on ITV every weekend

I'm starting to lose interest with the whole Goofy thing now. Why don't they just sign someone else easier to get hold of. Sod him! What about Rivaldo or Davids?

A bit annoyed with the saga meself. PSG are being completely uncooperative, gits, they should just except a fair price for what is essentially an unproven footballer (in club terms).
Rivaldo and Davids are both good, but I think Fergie's definitely aiming for younger players, consider the signings so far, and Kleberson's only 24 as well. Also annoyed about joaquin's refusal; has the kid no ambition? Hasn't been a great 'news week' for united yet...
I must admit , I think that PSG are just draggin' this thing out to get as much money off UTD as poss. I can't see the guy going to Barca , certainly not for footballing reasons anyway. I thinkit will just turn out to be another case of Man Utd paying more than anyone else would have to for a player.
I have just read on United we Stand's web site , that Fergie has gone over today with Maurice Watkins ( solicitor ) to get the whole thing sorted once and for all , don't hold your breath though !!
We'll keep the RED flag flyin' high
'cause Man United never dies.
he will cum to united no doubt - uefa or champs league?? hmmmmmmm
Yep, PSG are just being money grabbing frogs. The Barcelona rumour is just an attempt to push up the price United have to pay for Ronaldinho. Because it's Untied they think they can name their price - and they most probably can. It's just extremely frustrating.

If Milan can't find any use for Rivaldo, I doubt he's any use at this point. He and Davids are too old to buy for loadsa money now.

True, which means that they'll command even higher fees if the fee is low. It used to be about the football
didnt the price rise from 10million for ronaldiniho??
Man utd have placed another bid for ronny , but PSG have to reply within 24 hours, or man utd will look elseware Click Here (http://msn.skysports.com/skysports/article/0,,1-1097403,00.html)

What about Ballack, Ze Elias, Okocha, Sas and that other Turkish guy who is really good? And Gattuso?

I concur.
Other clubs are always trying to take advantage of Man U when it comes to transfers. It seems like PSG didn't want to sell to United tho, even if our offer matched Barca's. Despite Ronaldinho saying he wanted to come to OT.
Still, the affair ain't over yet. It should be sorted by six I suppose.
If we don't get him, I'm not sure how concerned I'd be. Obviously if Fergie's keen to sign him, I'm all for it. But you have to wonder about his attitude. At PSG, he was notoriously inconsistent, but could usually turn it on for the big games (eg. Marseille). And I'm not sure if he'd be fully committed to United; he's already said he'd rather move to Spain, and he doesn't seem too concerned at the prospect of moving to Barca instead of United, otherwise they wouldn't be able to agree personal terms.
We shall see. If he comes, I'll welcome him. If he doesn't, I won't lose any sleep.

Well... look at this link...

Knew Utd wouldn't get him or more importantly PSG were pissed off with Utd for approaching Ronaldinho first (as they always do and never get punished). And I reckon Goofy didn't really wanna go to England or up north like at any rate.
Bet he goes to Real at the end of next season after Barca kindly acclimatise Goofy to Spanish football for Real. Remember where you heard it first! ;-)

Yeah, that's not bad thinking. It depends on his season I suppose, although Barca have to be UEFA cup favourites, so you could see Real bidding for him. It'd cost them tho.
An interesting article on BBC Sport: http://newsvote.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/3080277.stm
its official - barca have won the race to sign ronnie becaue man u faffed about 2 much - well done kenyon

Was anyone else aware that Quaresma also went to Barca?
I thought United would exploit the Sporting Lisbon connection to get first refusal on him.
man utd have blown their chances of the c/l and they have lost kleberson at the same time. stupideous.

Where'd you hear about losing kleberson? I thought his transfer was pending work permit.
i heard that klebersons move would only go through if ronny signed! oh well, lets hope its the work permit.

no i wasn't. i'd have thought he would have wanted to play in the champions league.
footballs a funny game becuase the most silly things happen,, players prefer uefa cup instead of c/l. interesting.

You'd think. I think Duff is overpriced at £17m, but at least he wants to come to United. I think Kleberson should be tied up, unless he was only being signing if Ron was. I wouldn't mind if the Ron fund was used on a striker in the £10m-20m range. If Scholes dropped back into his natural position and we got a prolific partnership going, we'd be unstoppable.
so now weve lost ronnie, who do you think fergie shall bring in as a striker for RVN?

Raul. We can only hope!
I've always quite liked Morientes as well, and he gets treated badly enough by Real to consider a move.
Can't think of anyone else at the moment, it would probably have to be a young player as seems to be the policy at the moment. I'm not sure strikers are the priority at the moment, although I thought ronaldinho would have been used in a Cantona-like role.
i like portillo but jus imagine raul & rvn10. wow! how beautiful.

There's nothing wrong football wise with Kluivert. Utd could afford him and prob bring his wages down by the fact he'd be with RVN and in the CL? That might be very deadly? Imagine RVN and Henry!
we can all realistacallu see kluivert partnering either RVN or Henry but i can never see henry and rvn unless its at madrid

Kluivert stays at Barcelona, that's for sure since a couple of days...
It's ashame though, Kluivert and van Nistelrooij would have make a great couple... Kluivert is more a technical player, Ruud more of a goalscorer... Sounds good together, plus it would steam them ready for a king's couple at EC2004 :D
but kenyon pisses me off because he spends so much time persuing one player and then loses him at the end. idiot.

It was handled badly. I don't really care about losing Ronaldinho (he flew into El Prat airport yesterday - how appropriate), but we're now left franctically trying to sign a big name, we should have had a better contingency plan in place!
man utd will need a striker before august! FACT - a well known marksman who can create and provide and score. crespo or totti. we can only wait.

Buy van der Vaart from Ajax... He is what you say here...

Crespo would be too expensive considering what he was bought for a season ago, and I never really rated totti. Van der Vaart is good, and he plays in a wide position so might be a good purchase.
