Wasn't there a "bowling" mini-game in Tekken Tag? I would guess it's referring to that...

well it's true. each character DOES have a different bowling style. I remember playing the bowling minigame on tekken tag quite a lot as it was the first game I got (it was one of the PS2 launch games).
