View Full Version : graphics card problem
This seemed like the most suitable place to put my thread.
Just got a new graphics card (Radeon 9800Pro 128mb) and when I play a game for say 10 mins or so, it will freeze and the pc will restart, I didn't have this problem before I installed the card so I'm pretty sure its the card causing the problem. It's on the newest (I think) Catalyst drivers from last months PCZone dvd.
PC Spec:
P4 2.8ghz 800fsb
Asus P4P800 motherboard
512mb DDR ram
Sapphire Radeon 9800 Pro 128mb DDR

[enter that nerd]
well not really i just felt it tied in with travis' post...
it sounds like a heat problem...
has your computer done this before u got your new vid card if so then see how hot your CPU runs at, it should not be much hotter than 60c, if it has only started since your new vid card i would call up the people you purchased it from, because it sounds like your GPU is over heating.. and your card will more than likely need replacing... let us know how u get on...

if it is only with Warcraft 3, get the latest drivers for your vid card and the latest patch for W3 and see if that fixes it.. coz it sounds more like a driver issue.. what vid card u have BTW?
i had a simer proplem, windows updated its self and every now and then the card crashed, once i deleted the update it worked fine again
