Help with custom avatar

I dunno what's wrong, but whenever i try to copy and paste or upload a custom avatar, and i chose to save changes, it says that the site can't be found and it doesnt save my changes...when i use one of the original avatars and i hit save, it works...any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
