View Full Version : Virtual world cup 2003
Let's organize virtual world cup. How?
It will be played on PES 2. Actually, computer will play it on my PES 2.
You should pick a team and send me tactics(formation, lineup and stuff). So,you see it's not necessary to have the game.
You think this is interesting?Sign up!!!
Just write which team you want in here. Don't send me tactics yet. Wait until we have enough members. I'm just not sure should you send me tactics on mail or in special topic in here.
I'll post schedule and groups here when we have all the members,ok?
When a game is played I'll post a result and a short description of match.
OK we need 32 teams.
If you have any questions post here.

Northern Ireland!
OK,Northern Ireland it is. Thanks for signing up!!! I'll inform you on this thread when does the cup starts.
Cause it started good I already have 3 teams you can start sending tactics to my mail markodj2001@yahoo.com
If you are wondering why to my mail answer is simple: other contestants will not see it.
Teams taken:
Northern Ireland
Brazil
Argentina
Zygalski
20-07-2003, 10:04
England please.
(do you have an X-Port?)
England it is for Zygalski. I think I know you from ISSworld forums, that serbian site.
Zygalski you can send me your tactics now on my mail ( markodj2001@yahoo.com )
No,I don't have an X-port cause I can't find it here in Serbia.
Teams taken:
Brazil
Northern Ireland
England
Italy
Argentina
Zygalski
20-07-2003, 10:26
I don't think anyone can find an X-Port in shops.
Check out www.play.com for the cheapest one.
Use the search option and type in "X-Port".
I'll email my tactics a little later on.
Thanks.
Yes, I've been at ISSworld but there's never anyone there or any interest in anything. PESinsight is the best place to be at the moment.
Paul B will have Holland.Ok.
Teams taken:
Northern Ireland
Argentina
England
Brazil
Italy
Holland
You can send tactics to my mail,PaulB.
I agree with you,Zygalski, there is nobody at issworld forums but that's because people don't know for the site.
No,I'm not planning to take an X-port cause I don't have money.
Zygalski
20-07-2003, 10:35
OK, but if you do get 32 players, it would save you a lot of time and effort in assigning tactics to the teams as you could just load up the tactics files.
Hope you're into setting out tactics as some people make a lot of changes!
hitmanuk2k
20-07-2003, 10:39
you know, it would of probably been easier for you to run this tournament on one forum instead of several....
OK,I' didn't understand you quite here. How can I load up that tactics files?(if that's what this is about)
Perhaps you're right, but I wanted so much to start this and I can't wait for it to begin,so...
Zygalski
20-07-2003, 10:45
People with an X-Port can email you their formation files from their memory card and you can use an x-port to transfer them to your memory card and then when the appropriate match comes up, you just load the formation for the right teams and that's it.
No repeated fiddling with player movements or positions.
Plus you don't get blamed for misunderstanding what they email to you.
It would be easier but I really don't have money for an X-port.
i'll take spain please. :)
OK SPain is taken now.
7 taken, 25 to go.
All of you signed up you can send me tactics.
We have two more guys signed up.
Come on people sign up!!!
And you signed up start sending tactics...
Homer J.
20-07-2003, 14:34
I will take France... Cause Holland is taken :(
Homer J.
20-07-2003, 14:36
Eey Paul B, wouldn't you like France... Holland is my home country, and France is better :)
Lorenzinho
20-07-2003, 15:10
i didnt see ne1 take italy!!!!!!!dam! ok portugal is mine then
Ok I think I owe you an explanation.
The thing is that I run this game through three forums. I wanted to start this in a very short time.
The forums where I started the same topic are this one,iss extreme and pesfan.
That's why Italy is taken.
Taken teams now are:
Northern Ireland
Republic of Ireland
Brazil
Argentina
England
Italy
Portugal
England
France
Holland
Spain
Senegal
You agree who's gonna take France and who's gonna take Holland. Just let me know.
damn. i chose spain when France was still available.
OK Jamaica and Germany are taken now.
We have 19 places left. I won't be here for the rest of the day so new news tomorrow.

Can I have Belgium plase?
Tactics coming straight away!
hitmanuk2k
20-07-2003, 18:55
im sure i saw this on evo-web as well markony....
Ok Homer J, you can have Holland. I'll take France! I probably would have chosen France anyway if I had realised it hadn't already been taken!
is cameroon or nigeria available?
Homer J.
21-07-2003, 10:32
Thanks Paul! :)
And yes Jag, I believe so...
Zygalski
21-07-2003, 10:35
How much depth are people putting into their tactics?
I'm guessing I've gone a bit too far with it....
erm could i have Nigeria if they are avabliable instead of Jamica?
Homer J.

You probably take a standard formation and say the people you want in? I assume...
Zygalski
21-07-2003, 10:41
I believe Nigeria have been taken by someone from issextreme.
Why did you pick Nigeria?! Too late now mate!
Zygalski
21-07-2003, 11:54
It may be better if you try to claim a team and a backup rather than asking for them as anyone else who claims them (even on other forums) will get them even if you ask first.
Pounce like a tiger!
ok - i have germany and cameroon as a backup :)
Sorry you already took Jamaica
Cameroon for jag87.

21-07-2003, 12:41
Zygalski, I'm from the Mike Bassett school of management so my tactics will be 4-4-2 throughout. No position editing, attacking attitude will be set to defense. I'm not even afraid to reveal that, because no tactical tinkering from the opposition will ever break down the rock solid defense. Bring it on!
Zygalski
21-07-2003, 12:48
Not sure how well your team will be able to handle the opposition though. Brazil could give you some troubles.
I'd like to see how the groups will be drawn.
Meaning I want to see the groups basically.
So you can try to scare the opposition players!
RRAAAA!!
4-4-2 with attacking attitude please. cheerz.
Homer J.
21-07-2003, 13:14
Markony,
Paul B and I have switcht, so I have Holland now and he has France...
Sorry I saw that but I missed it when I wrote teams.
Sorry.:)
I'll post til the end of the day rules end stuff cause I think we should start on wednesday.
9 places still empty. Come on people!!!
What do you think:should I mail you the schedules or to post it on forums?
Zygalski
21-07-2003, 13:52
Will the groups be seeded or randomly drawn?
Groups will be seeded cause I think it would be better.
I'll post groups tomorrow.
What is the better way: send groups and results and everything to mail or posting it on the forum?
posting them on the forum would be easier for you
Zygalski
21-07-2003, 14:13

Zygalski
21-07-2003, 16:52
What time is that in GMT?
7pm?
Also, is it possible to compare how much tactics people have sent you with a difference in the length of the -------- with a longer line being more tactics? I'm interested in seeing it once. No need to keep drawing stuff....
Thanks.
Most of the contestants didn't change much, basically one of two players with attacking attitude, several of them are using default, and only you(Zygalsky) and Paul B sent me TACTICS!!!! Just kidding.
I can see you really analysed your team and I wish you best luck.
But,don't forget,sometimes luck is...
elliottume
21-07-2003, 17:13
Markony, I did send you the tactics for Belgium - if you didn't get them, can I have default with Wilmots captain and taking all setpeices. Cheers!
I'm so stupid!!! Yes you did send me the tactics but I didn't see it til now. Sorry.
Homer J.
21-07-2003, 17:41

22-07-2003, 09:39
Thanks for taking the time and effort to do all this markony.
(Summer holidays by any chance?)
You'll be sick of the matches after a while of not playing!
BTW, what form arrows will the players be set at?
Can we see the groups yet?
Homer J.
22-07-2003, 10:05
I'll be on vacation while this happens, but I'll be back the 30'th, so I might see the final ;)
Zygalski
22-07-2003, 10:13
Live final on MSN via webcam?!
Homer J.
22-07-2003, 10:22
And with the drawings, I think it's fair when like the 8 best are in 1 drawing like it goes in real life... They being the group leaders, or is that a stupid idee?
Chuck Morris
22-07-2003, 10:24
I'm in i'll take Ukraine........Shevchenkoooooo !!!!!!!!!
Zygalski
22-07-2003, 10:31
And the blue-boy takes the team with the best striker in the game. Good luck to you - hope my team doesn't draw yours!
Homer's seeding idea is good.
Guess it's just up to markony.
But seeding would ensure that good teams meet for the later stages as a china-greece final wouldn't be that interesting, would it?
Chuck Morris
22-07-2003, 10:42
Thats the thing though Z, Ukraine are a one man show! I still hope i'm in your group though, I'm gonna kick your arse bitch!!!:D
By the way did you get those vids i sent to your emrul account??
Zygalski
22-07-2003, 10:50
No I haven't received anything.
I think there's something wrong with that email service.
Haven't received anything at all.
I'll make a new acount at Yahoo and let you know when to send them. Sorry about that.
Or maybe hitman can provide some of us with a nice new email address at pesinsight.com
Zygalski@pesinsight.com ;)
I quite like to play as Ukraine. A few useful players in there.
Oh, and you're not going to beat my team mate!
England for the World Cup!!!
(Wish I could use Rooney....)
Chuck Morris
22-07-2003, 10:52
So you have made the boy wonder on your game then?
Zygalski
22-07-2003, 10:57
Of course man!
At first I made him too good based on the Turkey match.
But I reduced his stats based on the player creation section.
He's cool.
i have, but i didn't go by the stats that I found in the player creation centre as they were all really high. i made him with quite low stats, nothing higher than 90. most were around 70 and 80
Homer J.
22-07-2003, 11:13
You really think high of that racoon don't you :)
Nice goal against Arsenal(it was Arsenal right?) and 1 good appearance in the national team, but that doesn't make you a world class player yet...
Chuck Morris
22-07-2003, 11:21
I take it you haven't seen all his matches for Everton then have you?
Homer J.
22-07-2003, 11:35
Nope, we don't get to see it...
Hello guys. What's up?
I'll post groups today,like I said.
Yes groups will be seeded. The best 8 teams are in seed 1, 9-16 in seed 2... and so on.
We only have 2 places empty so...I think I'll put CPU for China and South Africa if nobody signs up by 2 pm today.
fastcow10
22-07-2003, 12:23
What basis are you seeding it on? FIFA world rankings?
Well yeah.Since I don't know you well I think this is the best.
fastcow10
22-07-2003, 12:37
I think so, as the only input the players have is tactical anyway. Having said that, you could stick me in the group with south africa and china! Nah, only joking, bring it on!
Homer J.
22-07-2003, 12:37
I always do in first:
Brazil, Argentina, England, Portugal, Holland, France, Spain and Italy...

22-07-2003, 12:51
Homer, many would say England should be second in their group and maybe Argentina should be another top seed.
Homer J.
22-07-2003, 12:55
Well, I'd like to stick to the original thing, only then you should put Germany in and do Portugal out...
markony, you typed argentina twice in the seed 1 section. replace that second argentina with england.
Homer J.
22-07-2003, 12:57
Uuuh Zygalski, you aren't in the league, or do I look over England?

It was an accident.
Zygalski

:) Yay! Top seed!!
Hey, no worries - simple mistake.
(I'm just wating to be drawn with markony now - actually I'm not sure if it is possible but if it is, I'm sure it will happen)
:)
The guy who should tqake Senegal is going to a vacation and he will be out of town next month. So,I guess I will take Senegal...if that's ok with you.
Also this is the guy who will be Denmark,he's also from my town:
(His words) Just to introduce myself. Name is Slobodan, nickname on our local forum Scorrpion. I'm looking forward to this. GOOD LUCK everybody!!!
Homer J.
22-07-2003, 13:55
I won't be here either, but that isn't such a huge problem is it?
Zygalski
22-07-2003, 14:01
No probs, cos you won't win the cup!
Or if you do, we'll keep the trophy safe for you.....
Homer J.
22-07-2003, 14:16
Don't you go cheat on me he!
Like:
"Ooh that Homer guy is on a vacation anyway, then Northern Ireland can win against him..."
Zygalski
22-07-2003, 14:21
Damnit, the plan is ruined! ;)
:D
Chuck Morris

Hey guys. Hope Senegal is really gonna be 4th in this cup.
Here it is,THE OPENING MATCH:
France(Paul B,pes insight)-Yugoslavia(t406jaw,pes fan) 1:1
Pires 35’ (assist Lizarazu)
Djukic pen. 81’
Yellow cards:
Vieira
Desailly
Milosevic
Shots 10-7
Possesion 54:46
Fouls 3:3
The opening match was played on the rain. We saw two totally different halfs. In first better team was France, whose players didn’t allow opponents to cross the center. The only chance for Yugoslavia was in the fifth minute when Mateja Kezman got a through pass from Lazetic, but didn’t manage to shoot very well.
After that, there were three in a row chances for France. First Trezeguet with header but Jevric made a spectacular save. Then Henry went through all the defenders but his shot ended in audience. Finally, in 35’ Lizarazu played a wonderful through pass for Pires and it wasn’t hard for him to score.1:0. Zidane had a good center shoot from the freekick in 42’ but Trezeguet sent the ball wide.
Then in the other half Yugoslavia woke up. Mihajlovic shot a very nice freekick from 36 meters and I really don’t know how Barthez managed to punch the ball to the corner. In 67’ on the center shot from the byline by Lazetic Kezman shot a header right in the arms of Barthez. 72 minute could bring the tie but Kezman didn’t score opened goal after Barthez was on the ground from the previous defense. France captain Desailly makes not-reasonable foul in the 16m and gets a yellow card. Djukic was sure from the penalty line. French guys tried something after this but it stayed 1:1.
Man of the match: Dragoslav Jevric(Yugoslavia)

Shots 4-8

Possession 51:49
Yellow cards:

Don’t be fooled by thought that Ukraine is one man team. Great piece of teamwork they shown in this game really denied that fact. It started with a good chance by Eto’o which he unfortunately missed. The one-two pass played from Shevchenko and Melaschchenko through the three defenders was great. Shevchenko shoots but Alioum Boukar punches it only to Rebrov who elegantly puts the ball into the net. The same two players participated in another action, again with one-two but this time Shevchenko shoot over the bar. In the second half little better play from Cameroon. Samuel Eto’o dribbled Luzhny and Holovko, but his finishing was bad. The keeper caught the ball with no problems. Then once again the masterpiece from Ukraine. Fast passes from Nesmachny to Yashkin,Yashkin to Rebrov,Rebrov played a through pass to Shevchenko but this guy hit the post. Mboma had a chance to score a goal, but his header, after the center shoot from Geremy, went wide. I should only mention the chance Rebrov had when he shot from the byline and shot hit the bar. All in all, great game from Ukrainians. Cameroon players aren’t worth mentioning. Their manager can only hope that if he changes something the game can be better.

E.Mpenza 39’
Wilmots 43’
Shots on goal 12:3
Fouls 2:2
Possesion 57:43
It really was just a classic routine win for Belgium. All in all, this was a boring game. Belgians took initiative from the beginning. In the 5th minute wonderful head-to-head pass from Verheyen and Wilmots but Belgium captain didn’t manage to score a goal. The game mostly played on midfield. Beautiful through pass from Walem for Mpenza in 39 th minute. Mpenza dribbled two defenders and scored a fantastic goal from the penalty line. The ball hit the bar and went into the net. Just four minutes later Wilmots used mistake by the Chinese defense. A classic shot through the legs of the Chinese goalkeeper. There was one more chance worth mentioning in the first part of the game. Walem was in the lead role. He shot magnificent from 30m but goalie punched it to the corner. That’s pretty much all happened in the whole game. Inspite of two chances for Mpenza and one, I could say, chance for China, nothing worth watching happened during the second half. Final score: Belgium 2,China 0. That reflects happenings on the pitch.

Well I'm off to play Brazil-Senegal.Hope for 1 point.
I cannot believe this!!!
Brazil(dannypea,big football forum)-Senegal(markony,chairman) 0:1
Diatta 44’ (assist Fadiga)
Shots: 7-5
Fouls: 1-0
Possession: 52:48
I know what are you going to say: ”Impossible ! Markony is lying!” But believe me, I swear this is truth. I couldn’t believe myself. I expected a decent lose but…No Comment.
My tactics(4-3-3 B,defence attitude, counter attack strategy) showed good.
From the very start Brazil was intended to go offense. But their actions ended around the center of the court where were excellent Aliou Cisse and Salif Diao. In the 7’ minute H. Camara got a long ball from Diao but shot went pretty wide. First half played in midfield most. Senegal guys got corner when the ball deflected of Cafu on S. Camara's center shot. That was THE 44th MINUTE. Khalilou Fadiga centered the ball and Lamine Diatta jumped higher than the defenders to get the ball in the net. It was like a dream come truth for Senegals. In the second half pretty much the same picture. Except , this time Brazilians had couple chances(Did I say couple?). In the 62nd minute Denilson had chance from the edge of 16m,but the ball went high up in the sky. A few minutes later Rivaldo shot from around 25m but Silva made spectacular save. In 75’ Cafu centers the ball and Roberto Carlos tried “scissors kick”(I don’t know how English people say this,so I used pure translation). Ball went little over the bar. Last chance was in the injury time, when Rivaldo brilliantly shot on the volley after the center kick made from Cafu. Silva was the hero again. He punched that ball in the throw in. Final whistle. 0:1.
Man of the match: Tony Silva(Senegal)
Can't believe it myself. Way to go guys!!!

Italy(Lukazan,pes fan)- Japan(pete7stephens,ISS extreme) 3:0

Vieri 49’ (assist Tomassi)
Totti 82’ (assist Del Piero)
Shots: 10-1
Fouls: 2-0
Possession 61:39
Red cards:
Albertini(Italy) suspended for two matches
In this game only one side played. Italy . There wasn’t really anything good happened on the pitch until the 40’ when Albertini got red card.He deserved it. He fouled his opponent from the back. That thing got Italy mad. Four minutes later on the through pass by Del Piero between two defenders Vieri scored a goal.
What marked the second half were two magnificent goals from Vieri and Totti. I was watching the game calmly when Vieri got the ball from Tomassi on the center of the court. He dribbled four guys(!) and then from,I can surely say, 35m with his LEFT leg sent the ball in the top left angle of the goal. I jumped(I was sitting). My mouth was opened and my eyes almost out. What a masterpiece from Vieri. I was planning then to write here that this goal(if you can see it) would be pronounced as a Goal of the cup,but then come even more wonderful goal in 84’.
Del Piero centered the ball, but not the way CPU usually center the ball, the other way. It’s thing which is in the game performed pressing L1 + O. Anyway, after that, Totti shot the ball on the volley but from turn and the ball hit the post then the bar and eventually goal. I couldn’t believe myself. To conclude, Japan is not worth mentioning in this game, since he didn’t even play. If Italy continue like this I’m not sure that anyone can be in their way to the title?

England(Zygalsky,PES insight)-Norway(tomo1811,pes fan) 1:0
Joe Cole 83’ (assist Dyer)
Shots: 5-5
Fouls :2-2
Possession 49:51
You wouldn’t believe me how even this game was. It was a game with a little real chances. Almost nothing worth mentioning, except that goal. Don’t get me wrong this wasn’t bad or boring game, there just weren’t the chances. You know,Zygalsky sent me SO MUCH tactics, so I put 100% of me in the game to fullfill all of his demands. And I thought:”He’s so going to lose!” but I was really mistaken about that. Tomo1811’s team wasn’t bad but England used just one defense mistake. Dyer centred the ball and Joe Cole played no-jump header. Ball is in the net.England won. By the play shown, perhaps the tie would be real result, but Zygalsky put so much effort to make something out of England and he did it.

Argentina(oseany,pes fan)-Sweden(The_Turk,iss extreme) 1:0
Crespo 27’ (assist Claudio Lopez)
Shots: 11-3
Fouls: 4-2
Possession: 63-37
Argentina really was good here and oseany showed he’s good for tactics. Swedish just didn’t know where are they. It started really offensive from formal hosts in this match. Ortega putr a strongly shot from 20m but Hedman managed to punch it in the corner. Once again the same guy tried to score but sent the ball wide from around the edge of 16m space. Goalkeeper’s mistake in 27’ brought the only goal. Lopez made through pass and instead of catching it Hedman let the ball pass him. After that,it was not hard for Hernan Crespo to score an open goal. 1:0.
Sweden couldn’t pull up after this. They continue defending their goal instead of attacking opponents’. First action in the second half and a big chance for Argentina. Ortega made a low pass from the byline and Crespo shot on the volley but wide. I should just mention a great shot from Crespo in 77’ when he hit the post. I think that number of shots and possession tells everything about this game. Argentinians won 1:0,but I must say it could have been 3:0.

This was the first game without goals in the cup. But,not without chances. There were plenty of them. Before the match, one side of me expected this game with a dose of sarcasm and other side hoped for an interesting game. Wales’ players were encouraged by victory of Senegal and so tried to do the same. Well, we could say they worked. Cause one point for Wales is a lot. That’s the real picture. Well,mufc_rule must thank Paul Jones excellent goalkeeper for this point.
Don’t get me wrong. Turkey didn’t play bad,but you must agree with me that this is a failure for them. They had their first chance in sixth minute when Okan found a way to the goal but didn’t found the way next to goalkeeper who elegantly caught the ball. Wales had couple of chances but when the time comes to shoot that is…Oh,my God! All of their shots ended in the sky. Hasan Sas is the tragic man of the match. He missed two headers that could have been goals. And he also two times failed to surmount (I found this word in dictionary, first time hearing about it)
the goalie. Well mufc_rule found good defense tactics for Wales. And for Turkey it’s just a little luck they didn’t have, but now they have less chance to advance to the second round, especially now when Senegal defeated Brazil.

Well this was a solid game, but I just didn’t enjoy it. Anything but the two goals didn’t really happen. There were a lot of mistakes from the both sides and neither of them couldn’t really built good chances. First half was with no excitement at all. Only one solid chance but Koller missed it. Australia decided to defend their goal. But,their resistance was broken in 71’. Smicer took the ball away from Murphy and easily scored a goal. Australia tried with two shots from about 20m after that but they didn’t have what it takes to tie. So, punishment came in last minute when Nedved centered the ball and Koller jumped even higher than the goalie to score a goal. Australia didn’t have any real opportunity in this match. Perhaps gangsta9 should change tactics for next match.

Pretty much British group G(Norway is intruder). This was a great match between two Ireland. I must say on the very beginning Northern won and they totally deserved it. They scored a goal on a start of match. Mick Hewitt centered from corner and Mallack scored with a beautiful header. Rep. Ireland didn’t know what hit them. Northern guys continued to play magnificently. In 15th minute they had a great chance which Milton missed. Given managed to punch it in the corner.
You know I think a fact that on the end of first half the shots were 6-1 for N.Ireland and possession 62-38 percent tells enough. But,in the second half, fastcow’s boys returned to their half. Ireland started to attack but didn’t manage to organize useful actions. Roy Keane tried from 20m but hit the bar. That and a wonderful header from Morrison which went wide were only real chances in second half. Well,fastcow10 claimed that he’s good in tactics. And nmaher61 perhaps should think about his boys’ game.

Possession: 45:55
Yellow cards:

I’m so sorry that Jamaicans didn’t manage to draw here cause they deserved. They fought really good entire game. I think that their defense is to blame for this result. Defense made two stupid little mistakes that allowed Gravesen and Tomasson to score two goals. Denmark scored first goal in 25’. Madsen made a through pass for Gravesen and Gravesen scored an easy goal from the penalty line in the top right angle. 7 minutes later Barton made a wonderful turn to fool Helveg and then shot from about 20m to score a goal. And then I really thought that Jamaica is in psychical advantage but Denmark managed to get back in the game and scored a winning goal. It was in 65’ when Rommedahl played a through pass(yes, again the same kind of action) and Jon Dahl Tomasson shot so strong in the bottom of the net that goalkeeper only managed to see the ball going to the net. And that’s it. It’s a damn shame that Jamaica didn’t take a point, but their defense blew it. Denmark is now first in group and is going to the next game with big dose of confidence.
Man of the match: Jon Dahl Tomasson(Denmark)

Like in the other match in this group the result was 1:1. Scotland started really offensively and in the first action after freekick centershot Billy Dodds scored a goal with an excellent dive header. It’s good for Scotland to know that they have a class player like that in their team. He had a couple more opportunities but just didn’t have enough luck to bring a win. But,enough about brave Scotland. Portugal played well too. Their play was really attractive and they have shown that they deserve nickname “European Brazil”. They scored their only goal after a one-two pass made by Rui Costa and Joao Pinto. Rui Costa after that pass made couple of bicycle dribbles and scored a wonderful goal in the top left angle of the net from 20m. It was great to watch these two teams playing on the green pitch and I really enjoyed the match. Hope I could transfer you the feeling I had during the match.

Well Nigeria lost and Holland won. It was a good match only for the two facts. First is that it was played by two good teams, teams with fast players so the game was pretty fast. The other fact was a great performance from both teams. They knew that this is a derby match and put a lot of effort in the game. Holland was more lucky and Nigeria didn’t have so good goalkeeper. First attack could have been a goal. Kluivert tried with a shot from 25m but goalkeeper punched it in the corner. I just must say that I would give Stam red card for that foul he made. But he got only yellow. In 37’ Van Nistelrooy scored only goal. Overmars passed the ball to him and he scored a classic goal in the top right of the goal. Nigeria tried to tie in the second half. Their best chance was in 71’ when Agali made a dribble(like a fakeshot) to cross three guys. He just didn’t manage to score a goal since goalie punched the ball. The rest of the match didn’t have real chances. Holland was,all in all, a better team. Perhaps the whole team wasn’t better but attackers definitely yes. Three points for Holland.

This is a great game for Spain and a terrible game for Uruguay. Not only they have lost they even managed to get a red card. It was a nightmare for Tais. He got a yellow card in the first half and a red card when he blame a penalty in 73’. Uruguay actually didn’t start so bad. They had a chance on the very beginning of the match. Magallanes just missed to score a classic goal. The whole first half Spain attacked but they didn’t have any real chances til the 60th minute. Luis Enrique made a good low pass from the byline,Raul got the ball and from half-turn shot scored a goal. The ball hit the post and went in. Spain were very persistent to score another goal and they did. From the penalty kick. Mendieta shot the ball in top left and Carini went down left. To the end of the match nothing important happened. All in all,in the most dirty game on the cup,Spain took 3 points and left nothing for Uruguay.

You know because of electricity I had to play and watch 8 games in a row(electricity came in 3:30pm GMT 16:30 CET) and to write quick reports. So I kind of get tired of this for today. This was one of those more intersting matches. I really enjoyed it. There were not so much real chances, mostly because of attackers who put every shot wide. On the other side both teams played well and made really attractive actions. The only goal, scored by Gavillan, was after the corner taken by Suares. It really was a masterpiece. He jumped somewhere from the penalty line and sent the ball in the top left angle, where the three goalkeepers couldn’t caught it. Paraguay showed a better game and won. Germany just claimed that the top seed teams aren’t always the best,at least it is like that in this cup.

YES! Read it and weep ROI, a glorious, glorious victory for Northern Ireland, and indeed pesinsight. The supporters are heard to be reminiscing of the 1982 WC match in which the mighty Spain were toppled. Clearly they consider this most striking act of giant killing in the same vein. While the manager has previously been accused of tactical simplicity, this result suggests he's a pretty astute fellow. Some cynics will cry 'fluke', and more than likely they'd be right. But nonetheless: glory, glory Northern Ireland!

Germany(Pedro Rodriguez,mail)-Finland(mickey fuxxx,pes fan) 2:0
Deisler 39’ (assist Klose)
Neuville 62’ (assist Ballack)
Shots 9-1
Fouls 3-1
Possession 46-54
After the defeat from Paraguay Germany manager Pedro Rodriguez reacted quickly and send me totally changed tactics. And this time,it worked. I must say, though, that I expected more from fuxxx’s Finland but it seems Germany was too big for them. Finland thought until that 39’ when Deisler scored first goal. It was more-less classic goal just not from the same angle. Deisler stood diagonally of the goalie, about 15m far, and shot was so strong that goalie couldn’t do anything. Then Finland dropped the pace and decided to stop fighting. I don’t know why. I only know that Germany had so many chances in second half, including crossbar hit from Klose with a scissors kick. Germans confirmed that they are good headerers in 62’ when Ballack centered and Neuville scored easily. Things are really heating up in group D and instead of being one of not-too-interesting groups maybe became very interesting.
Man of the match: Miroslav Klose(Germany)
Spain(wixon,pes insight)-China(CPU) 1:0
Guardiola 94’ (assist Raul)
Shots 14-0
Fouls 1-3
Possession 52-48
You know it just isn’t fair. Chinese really earned a point here, although statistics tells different. Why? Because their goalkeeper was so damn good. Spain had so many chances but Bao Jian or something like that deserved to be the man of this match, no matter China lost. At the end Spain took three points thanks to Guardiola. Those three points claim their advance to next round of competition. Chinese left empty handed. They just showed that they don’t belong here. They didn’t have a shot whole match, but I guess the fact they have 7 offsides tells something too. Congratulations to Wixon team. His Spain are first team that can relax now when they advanced to the second round. Nobody have to be sorry for China which is run by CPU.
Man of the match : Bao Jian(China goalie)
Holland(Homer J,pes insight)-Ukraine(bluescouse,pes insight) 3:0

Kluivert 16’ (assist Van Hooijdonk)
Van Nistelrooy 63’ (assist Overmars)
Shots: 7-4
Fouls: 3-2
Possession: 54-46
I really thought that this is going to be good match. Ukraine played very good against Cameroon but they just couldn’t repeat it in this match. Holland was too strong for them. Van Nistelrooy scored first goal when shot by Kluivert was punched by goalie and then Rud easily scored. 7’ later Van Hooijdnk made an assist for Kluivert who scored somekind of classic goal from the penalty kick. Final goal in 63’ scored by Nistelrooy again, this time header. Overmars centered the ball and Nistelrooy with a header shot put the ball in top left of the net. I must say that I really expected more from this match. But this was one team show and Holland won to claim their position in next round.
Man of the match: Rud van Nistelrooy(Holland)
France(Paul B,pes insght)-Scotland(fagin,mail) 1:0
Trezeguet 92’
Shots 10-3
Fouls 2-3
Possession 54-46
Just can’t believe it. You know most of the match was pretty boring cause there weren’t any chances. Scotland defended very good and France couldn’t create any good chance. All shots went in the sky. But it was worth watching whole match cause of the last five minutes. Scotland had a great chance in 87’ . Mccan made a low pass from the byline and Dodds got the ball on five meters from goal. He didn’t get it right, though, and the ball went near the post. Then counter attack and really good shot by Wiltord. He hit the post and Trezeguet was in the right place to score a goal. Pau B’s team had much luck in this match and won, although didn’t deserve. In the whole cup Scotland doesn’t have any luck. Not in this match not against Portugal. Well they can hope for even better showing against Yugoslavia and victory at last.
Man of the match: David Trezeguet (France)

Well, suprisingly,Denmark claimed their place in second round before Argentina. This match also knocked-out Sweden. Unfortunately,The_Turk’s guys couldn’t win again, but they didn’t control play. Sweden can now just beat Jamaica in third round to save themselves from the shame. Anyway, the only goal scored by Madsen was somehow masterpiece> That’s because he shot from dead angle. The ball hit goalie, then the post and finally net. Sweden had couple of good chances, especially free kick taken by Ljungberg but missed. All in all it was pretty even match but Denmark did that something needed to win.
Man of the match: Dennis Rommedahl (Denmark)
Rep.Ireland(nmaher61,iss extreme)-Norway(tomo 1811,pes fan) 1:1

Shots 7-8

Possession 54:46
Yellow cards:

Carr
Two first round losers played in this match. And neither of them couldn’t manage to win in this game. Ireland had more chances but Norway used their only real opportunity in 86’. Flo made a nice pass for Carew. He turned and went elegantly next to Carr to score from the penalty line. In that moment whole stadium thought that Norway is gonna take three points but Roy Keane,Ireland captain tied after great action played. Quinn centered the ball and Holland made beautiful head assist for Keane who pass the goalkeeper and walk into the goal. Ireland had many chances before those two goals, but Robbie Keane and Morrison didn’t score goal. Both teams still have chances to pass in the next round, but it will be harder for Ireland cause they play with England.
Man of the match: Roy Keane(Ireland)
Italy(lukazan,pes fan)-Australia(gangsta9,isse xtreme) 0:1
Okon 48’ (assist Lazaridis)
Shots 7-6
Fouls 3-2
Possession 50:50
Perhaps Senegal beating Brazil was a surprise, perhaps Wales draw against Turkey and N.Ireland’s win against Republic of Ireland is a surprise but this is a SURPRISE!!! I so brag Italy’s play in the first round, but this was tottally other Italy. Australia played really good they played extremelly good and they won. I’m not going to talk about about Okon’s goal,it was pure classic goal after Lazaridis’ pass. gangsta9’s tactics changes are really great and thay have really good chance to advance to next round if they win Japan in third round. italy is definitely gonna have hard time against Czech Rep. Instead of being perhaps the easiest group on the cup,it can be really interesting. Is lukazan going to do something? Or his going to stick to this tactics? This is real blow for Italy cause their place in second round isn’t 100% sure right now.
Man of the match: Harry Kewell(Australia)
Brazil(dannypea,big-football-forum)-Wales(mufc_rule,issextreme) 2:0
Ronaldinho 9’ (assist R.Carlos)
Ronaldinho 76’ (assist Denilson)
Shots: 8-4
Fouls: 1-2
Possession: 54:46
Well Wales managed to earn a point against Turkey but Brazil was too big bite to chew. It all started in 9’ when Roberto Carlos made a great forward run and centered and Ronaldinho put the ball in top left of the net,in the place where Jones just couldn’t get it. Wales had only one chance when Giggs shot and goalie punched the ball, and then Bellamy missed a dive from 5 meters. Changed tactics worked for dannypea’s team. Ronaldinho proved that he is a great player by scoring another goal. The same scenario, only this time Denilson centered the ball with little sharper angle(it is done by tapping circle twice) and Ronaldinho’s head again was in right place. Brazil managed to pull up in this match but they didn’t claim their place in second round and cause of that they must give the best against Turkey.
Man of the match: Ronaldinho(Barcelona)
Argentina(oseany,pes fan)-Jamiaca(da wuu,pes insight) 2:0
Claudio Lopez 67’ (assist Aimar)
Aimar 82’ (assist Claudio Lopez)
Shots 12-5
Fouls 2-2
Possession 51:49
It was nothing but a routine win for Argentina. Oseany one more time showed that his team is world class team and will be in the final draw. Jamaica played good, but they just don’t have what it takes to win against stronger teams. Claudio Lopez and Aimar were the best players on the pitch. They played two actions with the same scenario, just reversed roles. First goal was scored when Aimar cenetered and Claudio Lopez scored with a header. Second goal was all the same.
Well this is the first group where everything is solved. Denmark and Argentina will play for first place, and Jamaica and Sweden for first place.
Man of the match: Pablo Aimar(Argentina)
England(Zygalsky,pes insight)-Northern Ireland(fastcow10,pes insight) 1:0
Owen 81’ (assist Scholes)
Shots 7-5
Fouls 2-2
Possession 51-49
Well guess there were few guys that expected better performance from Northern Ireland. They won Ireland, but just couldn’t beat England, too. Zygalsky’s team really played good and created couple of chances. The best one was for Owen after through pass by Scholes in 81’. And he used it to bring three points for England. England advanced to the next round and Northern Ireland is gonna fight Norway to win a ticket for the next round.
Man of the match: Michael Owen(England)
Czech Rep.(guise,pes fan)-Japan(pete7stephens,iss extreme) 0:0
Shots 4-6
Fouls 2-2
Possession 42-58
The most boring match on the cup!!! There just isn’t anything that I can mention here. All shots ended in the sky, many mistakes from both teams...I just can’t believe that CPU can play a match like this on 5 star difficulty. Well, things in group F are getting complicated. Czech Rep. is first with four points Italy and Australia have 3 points and Japan 1 point.

Shots 5-7
Fouls 4-1
Possession 42-58
My team really played good in this game and from “neutral” point of view he deserved a point. Kidding aside,Senegal and Turkey both played good. Turkey lead cause of Sylva’s mistake. Sas centered the ball and Sylva, instead of catching it,just touched it to Sukur. Sukur scored a goal with head. Senegal tied when Diouf played through pass and Camara Henry scored classic goal. There’s just something wrong with Turkey. Instead of beating Wales, they draw. Instead of beating Senegal, they draw. Now thay are gonna have hard time against Brazil.
Man of the match: Henry Camara(Senegal)

Instead of taking three points,Paraguay took only one. Americans had only one chance in last minute and Donovan shot but Chilavert punched it. How ever,Mathis was near and scored a goal. And Paraguay lead with an excellent goal from Cardozo. Gavillan took the corner and Cardozo jumped and scored. It really was nice goal. Well,Paraguay has match against Finland, and USA is playing Germany in third round. It will definitely be interesting.

Uruguay seemed mad in this game. Mad for losing against Spain. Well, they revenged Against Belgium. Tottaly one-sided game, but nice game, however. Magallanes played header after centershoot from Silva for 1:0. In second half Guigou made excellent through pass for the same player and it was 2:0. Belgium managed to score one goal. It was nice goal from Emile Mpenza after through pass by Belgium’s captain Wilmots. Eliottume’s team just didn’t play well, but they have match against Spain to fix it. Uruguay will play China in third round.

In this match we could see classic african football. Lots of running and chances and very attractive and good actions. It was no how boring match. Cameroon just can’t win on this world cup. They lost 0:1 from Ukraine, now the same result against Nigeria. They can forget second round but Nigeria is going to fight for a place against great Ukraine. Babangida scored only goal in this match with his head. It was more-less classic goal.

Audience really could enjoy watching the last match for today. It was rainy in Virtual city and the pitch was muddy. There were no real chances until Djorovic made a foul in 16m to blame a penalty. He got a yellow card, and Figo scored from a penalty kick. But just after the start of second half Yugoslavia tied. Milosevic made great dribbling, lost the ball but was able to return it and scored a goal from 20m. The main guy to blame for Portugal win is Pauleta. He played beautiful, wonderful, just great hhigh pass(you know,L1+X) and Pinto got alone in front of the goalie. It was easy to score and Portugal win.

Well, from neutral point of view, this match was boring match with only couple of chances. But,ny team played and it was very interesting for me. I had really bad feeling about this game before it started and I was right. Wales started really good and on the very beginning had good opportunity but Speed missed it. Senegal was better in air. Diatta had chance after corner taken by Camara, but header shot went touch wide. Well, congrats to MUFC_rule for winning two points with Wales in this cup in this group. After match Senegal-Wales which ended without goals, this match was,for a change, without goals. If CPU continues like this, don’t know what to do.
Anyway, both teams played solid game, but Norway was better, although they didn’t score a goal. The best chance was for Flo when he hit the bar with header. It was a match for honor. More for The_Turk’s honor than da wuu’s honor. But Turk ‘s team defended his honor by beating Jamaica 2:0. Da wuu will just have to sign up earlier for next VWC and pick better team. Although this match didn’t decide a thing(except positions) it worth watching it only because one goal. Ljungberg centered the ball in 45’(tapping circle twice) and Allback scored with a scissors kick. But a real one,not fake. Lack of luck for Belgium in this match. They just lose two points in last minute when Raul scored after through pass from Morientes. Belgium scored their goal after great dribbling and shot from Johan Walem, who is man of the match because of this. It was nice action, indeed. Seeing as I'm now out, because of Raul and Magallanes, I'll have more time to do my file.
OK. The opening match of second round:
Australia(gangsta9,iss ex)-Uruguay(stasman,iss ex)1:0
Kewell 70' (assits Emrton)
Shots: 6-6
Offsides: 0-0
Fouls: 3-2
Free kicks: 2-3
Corner kicks: 3-1
Possession: 51-49
Gangsta man has some good tactics. After losing the first match he won all the others. Uruguay played good in group phase but in this match they looked like in the match against Spain. Viduka almost punished that in 20' but he hit the post. Uruguay had only one real chance but Dario Silva put it wide. In 70' Emerton took the corner and Kewell made an excellent jump to score. Australia is first quarter finalist. They just proved that they play best football in Oceania and they deserve to be part of World cup.
Man of the match: Harry Kewell(Australia)

Fouls: 2-1
Freekicks: 2-2
Corner kicks: 0-1
Possession: 48-52
It was a hard match where both defences played superb, with just one mistake from Paraguayans. Just when the match started Sukur made a great through pass for Sas,but Chilavert punched it. However,Sas took the ball away from Arce and scored the only goal in the match which took Turkey to the quarterfinal. Win against Brazil made Turkey stronger than usually and they deserved a minimum victory in this game.
Man of the match: Hakan Sukur(Turkey)

Sand 37' (assist Tomasson)
Shots 9-5
Offsides 1-0
Fouls 4-3
Free kicks 3-5
Corner kicks 1-1
Possession 52-48
Just a little luck for Homer's guys. But they didn't have it unfortunately. Holland had two posts and a bar hit from a freekick in this game. It's to bad that Holland is out so early, they played really good on this cup. But Denmark either didn't play bad. The only goal was scored with header from Sand. Tomasson centered from 40 m freekick and Sand jump higher than Stam. It's just one defense mistake. I only must mention a great freekick from Overmars when he hit the bar.

This is turning into an interesting tournament for the smaller teams in it. We've already seen Brazil and Germany crash out in the group stage, now Holland have gone and we're gonna see 2 more big clubs go out as Spain & Italy play each other and England & France have yet to play each other. Argentina have got a tough game aswell against Nigeria, could we see another upset...........

It was such a thrilling match. I really enjoyed it. lots of chances, good shots. Two things decided the match: confidence and Canizares. Penalties were great. There were six rounds and score was 2-1. Italians lost confidence at the end and Tomassi missed in sixth round. Thanks Lukazan for participating and Wixon is going to face winner of England-France match in the quarter finals. Senegal(markony,chairman)-Finland(mickey fuxxx, pes fan) 1:1(pen 4:2)

Henry Camara scored--Kollka scored
Diouf scored-------------Litmanen missed
Fadiga scored------------Tainio scored

Diao missed--------------Saarinen scored
Oh,that bloody fuckin' stupid Diao!!! You son of a...!!! I didn't deserve this,I tell you!!! I just didn't!!!Arrrrrrrrrrgggghhhhhh hhhh.....
But I really didn't deserve it. I had match ball but Fad missed and that the punishment came. Diouf scored classic goal for me,while Finland goal is real masterpiece. Litmanen centered the ball Kollka made head-to head- pass for Forsell and he scored. It's just my fault. I could have attacked whole second half, but no... I must play defensively. Mickey fuxxx really showed his quality of a manager in this cup,but we'll see can his guys beat Denmark in quarters.
Man of the match: Mickhael Forsell(Finland)
Portugal(bonzo,pes insight)-N.Ireland(fastcow10,insight) 1:0
Joao Pinto 109' (assist Pauleta)

Portugal really tried to beat Northern Ireland here and eventually he did it. In extratime, though. Just one defense mistake(it's a hell of a defense) made Portugal contestant of quarters and N.Ireland out. There were lot of chances, good opportunities, more of them for Portugal. So ,to conclude,Portugal is in the quarters where they will play Australia. Northern's and fastcow proved that Northern Ireland is a serious opponent, but this is enough.
Man of the match: Joao Pinto(Portugal)
Argentina(oseany,pes fan)-Nigeria(wozbaca,iss ex) 0:0(pen 5-3)

Crespo scoered----------Okocha scored
Aimar scored-------------Agali scored
Zanetti scored-----------
I can claim that this was THE BEST MATCH ON THE CUP so far!!! It was brilliant!!! Fast and attacking play, great chances good players, excellent goalkeepers...Sincerely,goalie s made this match so good with their saves. I think I saw ball in the net 10 times in this match. It could easily be 5-5. But goalies made it to penalties. There Babngida was the tragic guy. He missed the whole goal and it was what decided the match.
Man of the match: Burgos(Argentina)
England(Zygalski,pes insight)-France(Paul B,insight) 0:1
Henry 87'
Red card: Marcel Desailly(suspended for two matches)
Shots 5-6
Offsides 0-1
Fouls 7-3
Free kicks 4-7
Corner kick 1-1
Possession 47-53
Remember how England won all three group matches by scoring goal in last ten minutes? Well it hit them back like a boomerang. When Desailly got red card(26')I really thought England is going to win,but I was wrong. England had so many good chances,Beckham hit the bar from freekick,Vassel missed from 5 meters... When French scored a goal ball just wouldn't go in. Trezeguet shot,James punched ball,Wiltord shot ball hit the post, again Trezeguet James punched the ball and finally Henry with a dive header scored and all the English dreams were gone. It's hell of a schedule so France will face Spain in quarters.
Man of the match: Thierry Henry(France)

Well done to France for winning while playing without a crucial player.
Sounds like a heck of a goal to concede!
Actually I'm impressed with how well England defended throughout, shame about the lack of goals.
OK guys just to say that I'm probably gonna be a little late with results tonight so be here at 8:30 pm GMT for all quarterfinal results.
Sorry I'm late, guys. Here are quarterfinal results:
Australia(gangsta9,iss extreme)-Portugal(Bonzo,pes insight) 1:0
81' Kewell (assist Lazaridis)
Shots:3-8
Offsides: 0-0
Fouls: 1-2
Freekicks: 2-1
Corners: 0-1
Possession: 46-54
Yellow cards:
Figo
Australia won another game and now is so self confident that they can win anyobody. Fantastic play by Portugal still wasn't enough. Australia third time in a row won with 1:0. Like in eight finals Kewell was the golden guy who scored a goal.
Portugal had his first chance in 20' minut but Joao Pinto hit the post instead of scoring a goal. Five minutes later Figo centered the ball and Pinto hit the bar. Incredible. There were a lot of good opportunities for Portugal but Australia scored a goal
after Lazaridis centerkick the ball and Kewell made great header. Portugal had luck in draw maybe, but Australia and gangsta9 proved that they should be considered serious. Can they maybe win the cup? We'll see.
Denmark(Cobi,local guy)-Finland(mickey fuxxx,pes fan) 1:4
Kollka 13'
Litmanen 27 (assits Forsell)
Litmanen 47 (assist Rihillahti)
Tomasson 61'
Forsell 82'
Shots: 7-8
Offsides: 0-1
Fouls: 6-1
Freekicks: 2-5
Corners: 2-1
Possession: 50-50
I don't know how to start. Finland showed the best game in their history. Scandinavian quarter final was with a lot of goals. Finland took the lead when Kollka hit a great shot to score pretty much classic goals. All the goals were classic, except the second Finland's
which Litmanen scored with a scissors kick. Forsell was assister here. After sixty five minutes Finland had three goals lead and it was all solved. Denmark got back in the game for a minute when Tomasson scored a goal. Forsell scored another goal after that. To conlude Finland just hammered Denmark
and will play Australia in the semi's.
Turkey(galatasaray1979,iss extreme)-Argentina(oseany,pes fan) 0:1
Crespo 83'
Shots: 4-9
Offsides: 0-0
Fouls: 5-3
Freekicks: 3-5
Corners: 2-1
Possession: 52-48
Argentina won against Turkey, against all expectations. I'm kidding. It was expected result, although Turkey could make a little more effort in this game. I guess they were tired after the match with Paraguay. Ortega made great shot, but Turkey's keeper Rustu punched it in 44'.
Nothing special didn't happened in the second half, except that goal. Claudio Lopez made a shot and Rusty punched the ball, but Crespo was in place and scored a goal. Argentina will play winner of Spain-France match in semi finals. It will sure be another great match to watch.
Spain(wixon,pes insight)-France(Paul B,pes insight) 0:1
Henry 86'
Shots: 3-9
Offsides: 0-1
Fouls: 5-4
Freekicks: 5-3
Corners: 1-0
Possession: 50-50
France barely made it through the second group. Goal in 90th minute against Scotland brought them second place in group. They had very hard draw in eight finals. England. Their captain Desailly then got a red card and couldn't play in this match. He is not going to be able to play in semis too.
Spain had hard draw too.,but they edged Italy on penalties. Now France won against Spain like against England and Scotland. With goal in last ten minutes. Henry made great solo run and with a land shot scored. Spain didn't have time to return in match. France is gonna have hard draw in the semifinals too.
They'll play Argentina. It will probably be final before final.

Australia won with result 1:0 once again. And once again Kewell
was the scorer. Kewell is Australia golden guy I think. They are
celebrating now for advancing to the final and making their biggest
success in football history. Goal was pure masterpiece from new Liverpool
player Harry Kewell. Skoko passed the ball and Kewell scored with a wonderful
shot from 25m. Gangsta really made good tactics for this
cup,but can Aussies win the championship? We'll find out. Although,
Finland must be satisfied too cause they have chance for one of the medals,
and that is huge success.
Argentina(oseany,pes fan)-France(Paul B,pes insight) 3:0
Claudio Lopez 10'
Veron 17' (assist Zanetti)
Crespo 75' (assist Aimar)
Shots 8-3

Argentina just hammered France in this match. Generally Argentina's
play was most stable in this cup. They won all the games, except
draw with Denmark. France barely managed to advance to second round.
But then they won England and Spain and got Argentina. Great goal from
freekick(19m) by Claudio Lopez in 10th minute. Goalkeeper couldn't defend it.
Just 7 minutes later Veron got a wonderful through pass between
two players and scored second goal for Argentina. France couldn't
pull back and it was all over after the first half. Henry and co.
didn't play near as good as against England or Spain. Argentina
scored third goal when Aimar made through pass and Crespo scored
with an excellent land shot. France will fight for Bronze against Finland,
and Argentina will in THE TWO A finals play Australia, biggest surprise of this cup.

I understand now, it just sounded a bit weird.
Third place play-off:
France(Paul B,pes insight)-Finland(mickey fuxxx,pes fan) 1:0
Henry 3' (assist Trezeguet)
Shots: 8-1
Offsides: 0-0
Fouls: 1-3
Free kicks: 3-1
Corner kicks: 1-1
Possession: 57-43
After losing form Argentina France really played good in this match.
You could just notice that they want bronze medal. On the other side
Finland didn't play really well. Only goalkeeper Niemi was excellent and
he saved the day for Finland, cause they could lose 4:0 or more. Two times
he defended Henry's shots from 15m. One time he punched the ball in
corner when Zidane shot from freekick. But he just made one mistake
on the beggining of the match. Trezeguet made through pass for Henry
and Henry shot,Niemi punched the ball but it went in goal.
Well,Finland can be really satisfied with accomplished on this cup.
France too. Cause it isn't little thing to be third in the world.
Ah well, 3rd place isn't that bad. I'm happy with that!

As expected,Argentina made it to the finals. Australia is the biggest
surprise on this cup. Thanks to their manager Gangsta9 they are in the
final match. Question before the match was: Can they beat Argentina?
Answer after the match was: No. Although in group stage they beat Italy
Argentina was too good for them. Argentinians started very offensively,
but Australian defence was excellent until the 24th minute. Claudio Lopez
made a run on the left side. Moore was following him,but Murphy made a
mistake when he run to help Moore, leaving Ortega alone. Lopez centered,
and Ortega was 1 on 1 with the keeper. Bosnich tried to block the shot,
but it went next to his leg in the net. To confirm Argentina's triumph
Crespo scored a goal in 43' minute. Ortega beautifully centerd the ball
and Crespo from the penalty kick scored a header. Bosnich could save it
but he didn't. He made a huge mistake. It was all solved. When referee
made final whistle Argentinians celebrated, but Australians weren't sad
either. They can actually be very happy with done on this cup.
Oseany lead Argentina to the trophy,so they became winners of the first
Virtual world cup in history.
Next year, probably,on PES 3 they will try to defend their title.

I think oseany (pes fan) deserves a bit more recognition for winning the cup, having top scorer, assist man and MVP.
But having said that, Gangsta9 did a great job to get so far with a limited team.
Any chance of being able to see the tactics of the 2 finalists so the rest of us can learn something?
I rate the tournament 8.5
Maybe more points if I'd gotten further, but my interest was reduced when I was knocked out - oh well.
markony, thanks for all your efforts and time, despite power cuts and all other hazards! Top man!!
