Covent Garden's a good please to visit as well.

Also, is anyone getting those Empire Poker adverts next to some thread titles? Or is it just some adware I've managed to attract?

.....
10 Downing Street
Soho
Tottenham Court Rd
British Museum (cool building *shrug*)
The Strand
St Pauls Cathedral
Kensington Palace
Diana Memorial too if you want
Westminster Abbey
The Planetarium
Hampton Court Pal
and my fav London Zoo ;)

I'd suggest just walking about and doing it yourself, make sure you know where you are but there's so much to do just piss off out and you'll end up somewhere good - there'll always be a nearby tube station you can find if you get lost anyway :)

How much is it to get into London Zoo?

Pig
24-08-2004, 12:27
Have visited the vast majority of the places, just haven't been in this part of the world for a couple of years. I like leicester square, harrods and the imperial war museum. I haven't visited london zoo but don't really like zoos andway.

Places I intend to visist are oxford regent and sloane streets, knightsbridge the london eye and perhaps the british museaum.

I didn't like hampton court palace, maybe it was because it visited when I was about 12 but it just seemed crap.

My grasp of public transport in the city is quite good, its these bloody busses in lewisham that confuse me.

What about the natural history museum on Cromwell Road and the science museum on Exhibition Road near Hyde Park? ;)

Pig
24-08-2004, 12:47
I like the natural history museum, in fact i like both but won't visit either this time.

I wouldn't mind visiting leicester square again, saw some drunken tramps get arrested there last time i went.

The only buses in Lewisham that were worth me getting on were the 36 and the 136.
There's that weird loop thing they do around the shopping centre but when they come back round, them move in a sensible way. :)

Don't go on the London Eye, it's shit. So, so, so poor. You get just as good a view from Alexandra Palace, and it doesn't cost £20 to stand on a hill.

London Zoo's actually fairly expensive, either £11 or £13 - I can't remember quite which. If you are planning to visit the Zoo, go early - you need plenty of time (about 5 hours, at least) to mock all of the good animals. It's always fun to spit at the camel.

I expected everyone to be recommending clubs and pubs, not actual sites. For a night out, there's nowhere better than Trafalgar Square/Leicester Square. Lots of tourists, lots of places to eat/drink, lots of opportunities to pull. There's a very open-air and laid-back feel to it, as well. Not many actual "clubs" - but there's places to get to know people and find a quick score.

When I have a good think about it, I'll return to the thread.

Unbeatable.

Primrose hill? Where is that?

As for meaningless crap i will get something for you cheryl. Don't mind pricey but never thought i'd see him again.

I made spag bols. Peeled and chopped a million tomatos, a little onion and a clove of garlic. Friend the garlic and onion then the mince and then added the tomatos. Reduced it for bout an hour and served with 2 for 1 garlic bread from tescos. And yes cheryl wine.

Tomorow I will be mainly visiting grenwitch, and then into the city on thursday.

Also if you're in Oxford Circus, don't forget to check out "Niketown" - it's got practically every Nike product going :)

If you're still in London by Sept 1 - then get yourself to Excell in the Docklands area and you can see "Gamestars Live" where there's a very good chance you could play PES4!

That bloody great hill near Regents Park. ;)

Not really a nike man but may look into it for the experience.

I'm not really a pes fan, am here because p is one of my best mates. Have played pes3 but was defeated rather badly. Am going home on the 27th so I will miss such an opportunity.

The place is lets say culturally diverse, living in a village in the north i rarely see such such things. Not saying it's a bad thing its just very different to what i'm used to. Well i'm used to knowing everyone in Weardale (the dale where i live) so this place is rather strange.

Friend the garlic and onion

There has to be a joke in their somewhere...

things

Do not refer to them as "things." There'll be uproar. Believe me, I know.

As for Niketown, it's a heap of shit. I actually don't mind Nike products, but I went there to buy some Air Force 2's, and all they had were the ridiculously over-coloured fluorescent-green-and-grey-type basketball trainers, and they were also very expensive. Really, the shop's useless for the 'regular' shopper.

Oh right, well fry the onion and garlic then.

I was trying to be politically correct which was a first for me. I wasn't refering to black people as things, i was refering to cultural diversity as a thing. Anyway disrespect of any form can result in a warning or more likely a severe name calling so bringon any complaints. Thank you for the advice though.

I wasn't having a go, or complaining - I was simply saying watch out, the vultures are about.

See threads with my name in them for further details.

Don't take it as getting defensive. I really dont give a shit about these vultures, it's not like they can complain. It is 10 warning points for disrespecting an admin, even one who is here for no good reason. These people have no good reason to be all pc, its not like we live in south africa.

Back on topic ;)

Who suggested Nike Town, Oxford Street has some nice shops that aren't there primarily to mug off tourists and sell decent stuff but NT is one of the biggest rip off shops going

Try Carnaby St or obviously Camden you aren't a "Nike man" as you called it :)

I'm in Edinburgh next week for a couple of days, anyone from arorund there?

Travis Bickle
25-08-2004, 15:33
Not a big fan of Edinburgh, too oldy-worldy and touristy, its like Chester with more foreigners, you'll like the castle though. Glasgows well better stayed there for 6 months, good times.

Pig
25-08-2004, 16:34
The details of the trip include drinking and not much else. Maybe there will be a stagger arround the caslte.

Any good shops in Edinbourgh?
