What I normaly do is put a right footed winger on the left wing and as you reach the box, cut inside and chip a floating ball to the back post, this normaly works best for me!!

I press "r1" and circle, and then put the power bar about 1/4 full!!

fanx, here is another thing i just learnt, when your about 30-40 yards out,
press R1 and O like you told me . . . . .and it puts a little bit of curl on it when you do so!

down the wing, double tap circle to whip it right in front of goal, the defense are usually standing still while one of your strikers goes for a diving header

the keeper would probably be standing still aswell, thats how shite they are

isnt r1 speeed boost or w/e ? .... is this cross any different to a cross where the player is stationary?

I thought it was :L1: and :circle: , if it is, then its different to a stationary cross. In training mode there should be a task for you to complete using this.

I tend to run down the flanks, just outside the box, double tap :R1: , then :L1: +

:circle: and cross my fingers. ;)

why do you double tap R1 for?

I double tap :R1: for two reason....

1. is that i sometimes slow down (to sorta fool the defender coming across to cover) and then tap the :R1: to run faster and to tap the ball forward.
Other times.. i slow down and cut back in instead of running down the flanks for the cross. This is to change it around abit..just to put ur opponent in 2 minds.. trying not to be predictable...works well..

2. the :R1: on all my controllers are busted..hahahhaa.. so i just double tap to make sure it the tap is registered.

I'm not sure if its just me... but i've got 3 controllers...but the top button of the controllers seem to bust easy.... (:R1: :L2: :L1: and :R2: )
dunno if its the controller or is just me getting excited!!!

before crossing (when running down the wings) i use the L2 & R2 buttons quite often to change the running speed and make your direction less predictable. with L2 the player will lead the ball slowly and very close at his feet, i use it when like going on a wing, i see a defender approaching, i hold L2 and cut a little bit inside and dribble at him, then 1-2m before him i cut back to the straight line i was running before quickly swaping L2 for R2 which makes the player to tap the ball much more forward (than with R1), and i`m passed the defender. after that you can additionally use R1 and you`re gone. works perfectly with players who have also good physical power. try it in training.
*fast, speed bursting (initial accelaration), and strong players are the best, like giggs, ronaldinho, martins ect.*
besides, it`s a simple tactic you can use anywhere else on the pitch too.

does :L2: really do anything? in pes3 :L1: allowed you to move very slowly and make very tight turns....
we8: super-accurate cross from the distance: make sure that there is no opponent near you, stop with :R1: and push the ball away from you with :L1: + :R1: and then do :R1: + :circle: :circle: pass... if there will be some empty space in the penalty box the attacker will be able to receive the ball and shoot with the leg or shoot directly with the head (if there is a space I suggest option 2)

crosses from the wings: fool the defender with R2 (sudden stop and face the goal) and then press:
1. forward -> R1 + circle for the hard cross
2. backward -> L1 + circle for the soft cross (good if you want to receive the ball and shoot using player's leg)

the best cross is the low cross its brilliant it fools the defenders so badly and makes them score own goals

to do it :circle: + :circle: + :circle:

although sometimes its best to deliver the cross early as possible
