federer and roddick r the 2 strong favourites 4 this grand slam (yet again!)but who do u think will win the US open??

i think roddick will win aswell. bein american he will have quite a bit of pressure on his shoulders but ive a feeling he will b able 2 pull out the shots and go all the way in this grand slam. federer is the favourite but i have a feeling he will stumble around the Quarter Finals stage.

roddick has an advantage - he usually plays better on hard court where federer prefers grass

Maria got knocked out by the old frog Mary Pierce yesterday :(
as 4 the mens side carlos moya and juan carlos ferrero have been eliminated but the other main competitors r still fightin it out, includin Tim Henman! :eek: his still in it! quite unbelieveable, if he wins his next match he will have made it further than he eva has done b4 at flushing meadows. Federer is looking hot at the moment, its going 2 take a lot 2 beat him.

Henman should fancy his chances of making it 2 the last 4 2 meet either Agassi or Federer! i felt at the beginning of this tourno that Federer will go out in the last 8 but i cant c Agassi beating him,maybe Henman in the semis :D Hewitt is looking in gr8 from, he beat Beck 2day easily in straight sets. Its still on course 4 a Roddick (the reigning US Open Champ) against Federer (World No.1) final, their is some tough competiton in their way though 1st.

Aye canny draw for Henman, I wouldn't fancy his chances against Federer though, although he's got to get past Hrbaty first, Henman has certainly made things difficult for himself so far.

as always tho he's not very good IMO...in fact he's overrated by far.
Over-rated, the only people I know that rate Tim are Boris Becker, Pat Cash and John McEnroe, everyone else (ie: people that haven't got a clue) bloody berate him. His shot selection is unbelievable but he's just a wimp he needs to get down the gym, he's 30yrs old and getting beaten on power by 19yr olds !!

If Agassi can beat the machine that is Roger Federer then Henman's gotta have a chance of getting to the final. He'd lose to Roddick of course but at least that's something. He's so consistently good but not good enough to win a grand slam.

he wont have 2 beat Roddick now after he crashed out last night in a 5 set thriller with 6'6 swede Joachim Johansson. I was looking 4ward 2 seeing a Hewitt - Roddick semi final, that could have been 1 hell of a game with the way those 2 were playin. Johansson v Hewitt wil b interestin tho, Hewitts younger sista is Johansson's girlfriend, at least she knows that 1 of them will make the final though.

Itd b gr8 if he did and Henmans record against federer is 6 wins, 2 losses but Federer has obviously improved a lot, Federer used 2 b my favourite player and i was hopin he wud win many titles 2 gain the status he deserves but now he seems 2 b turning in2 a cocky little shit and A-ROD is the player i back. Hewitt is looking formidable tho and alot of ppl seem 2 b 4gettin about him while he quietly gets on with his business in explosive style.

Also did anyone see Football Focus this morning, they had to show photos of the internationals and couldn't show the goals, sky sports are bitter people.

Federer v Hewitt final then, both won there semi's in straight sets. 4 some reason i fancy Hewitt 2 win 2nite, he still hasnt dropped a single set, quite amazin considerin some of the players he has had 2 face.
Is there anywhere on the net that has coverage does anyone know? Im sure there must b some way of gettin coverage of the US Open final on windows media player!?

Federer to win 3-1 I think, Hewitt usually seems to play like he knows he's inferior against him.

im really hopin Hewitt wins aswell, he is arrogant but the tennis he plays at times is extremely exciting to watch. Personally id rather have seen A-Rod win it than either of these but im hopin Federer won't win, if his head gets any bigger he wont b able 2 even enter flushing meadows!

o well, Federer is about 2 win another grand slam! :rolleyes: He won the 1st set 6-0, was leading 5-4 and seving 4 the set in 2nd wen hewitt broke back but Federer won on the tie-break so its now 2-0 in sets 2 Federer and 3-0 to federer in the 3rd and almost certainly last set :o

yep it seems so unfortunately :( i really did think Hewitt could perform to such a high level to have a chance of winning but Federer like u say just seems 2 answer whatever questions are asked of him.
