View Full Version : Terry venables next newcaslte manager? Soon to be by looks of it!
Terry Venables will this week have further talks with Newcastle chairman Freddie Shepherd over the possibility of replacing Sir Bobby Robson as the Magpies' manager.
lol unlucky newcaslte :D
what u all reckon a wise decison??
How can you mis-spell Newcastle twice in the same post?
He's just said he's had talks, nothing else, there's nothing concrete yet. Also, on Friday, Sheperd said he had never spoke to Venables, he flew out of the country on Friday aswell. Then today Venables said he had spoke with Newcastle, so I don't know who to believe.
I wouldn't be happy at all if we did appoint him as manager, I just don't think he is the right man for the job. I doubt his heart would be in it, he doesn't have the passion.

You get the point hopefully?

i think that says it all really. he would be an utterly ridiculous appointment! steve bruce is the best option IMO but im not sure he would give up his post 4 birmingham, given the gr8 job he is doing, 4 a team that is looking in a real mess, even though he is a geordie. if venables takes over i honestly think newcastle would be in danger of getting relegated.

lol he cant do that bad surely can he? i know he didnt have a good time at leeds and most other clubs he was manager of england so he surely must know something abt football

if he doesnt pick them up very soon after taking over, then i reckon he could, yeh. Their attack is obviously quite talented with bellamy, shearer and kluivert all capable of scoring goals but dyer & robert wouldnt have the bottle for a dog fight and most of the team r relatively young and would therefore b inexperienced and probably(excluding James Milner) not have faced it before.

yeh he obviously does, but i think newcastles situation is more serious than most ppl think. venables is an ok manager but newcastle r in need of a manager who would give him a gud kick up their arses and get them 2 start performing and actually show their potential! For years the 'youngsters' such as dyer, jenas, bramble and others(including failure Hugo Viana) have been expected 2 deliver the goods but r starting a rapid downfall that needs 2 stop soon 4 the sake of their careers and newcastles future.
