Hey y'all!! ;)
I bought a side midfielder as my fist young talent. Everytime i was 2 goals up or there was 20 min. left of the second half, I substetuted him instead of one of my forwards. That way i made sure that the chances of making assists or goals were a lot bigger. First of I gave him some points i finishing and shooting acc. so the chances for scoring goals would be better. Then i gave him 99 in speed, drible speed and acceleration - which are probably some of the most important stat for a side midfielder.
At the end I got a star player taylor-made for the my team. I made sure to get a lot of finishes and passes with him, that way he could make up to around 60 points in a game! Now I have a "winger" with unmatched rivalry. 99 in speed and acceleration. 95 in all passing skills, mentality, stability and teamwork. Stars in the skills playmaking and passing.
Becks go home i tell ya!
He's good at scoring and "UNIVERS CLASS" in making assists.
Right now i have a defender in training. He also has 99 in speed and acceleration. 90-something in defence, strength and positioning.

So if you want to earn a lot of points for your talents - make the play as forwards as often as you can get the chance. Try and force them to make the assist or score the goal themselves.

Is there a fixed time for when promising players turn to senior menbers? I've found its exactly half way thru the season. Plus do they get more points against better teams, or when u win by a better margin. Cant seem to figure it out. I scored 2 and made 2 win a match once and only managed to get 37 points. What the deal?

The way I see it, your points are given after how involved your youngster has been. It doesn't matter how much you win - except if your youngster scores 4 goals or something like that. I figure that the only way that the cpu can keep track on how well your youngster plays, is by making assists, goals and maybe tackles and passes - but i don't know really about the last two.
I have a defender and he got a lot of points eventhough i didn't score goals or made assists. The only reason why he could get that many points must have been because i made a lot of tackles and passes with him.
Or just maybe as you surgest by winning without conceding any goals or by winning by a huge margin.
- I really don't know - I'm just guessing - - - - - - - Has anybody got some true knowledge about this subject though???!
