Just trying to do a wee poll to see what you all think cause all my friends think he is utter shite and i think hes actually allright.
I like him for Uited. Does well. Four five seasons ago to like 2002 he was very good. Now, you can say he is getting old, but is still solid. Makes mistakes a lot now.
I think he is quite shite and his £50k a week salary is outrageous and the only reason he is deemed so good is beacuse of lack of good right-backs in the premiership and all around the world for that matter

I think he's a hard working player. And he knows if he doesn't try hard, he'll lose his place cos he got no special skills.
And he showed in Euro 04 and Premiership, he can cross and help attack, so I think he's not bad. People think he's shit cause they remember those costly mistakes he and his bro made playing for England in Euros and WCs.
No question he's overpaid though, like 80% of the premiership, a player with no special skill just don't worth that sort of money. The likes of Ronaldino, Reyes, Henry, Giggs, Zidane, etc,they worth however much they earn, cos they can do what the rest of us will never be able to. The likes of the Nevilles getting 50k a week sometimes makes me think if I should watch the premiership, to be honest. It's hard not to be jealous about that.

However, he's an odious irritating twat.
He does well for england and man utd hes a experienced defender,good crosser of the ball and very solid in defence

I go along with the general consensus here, solid enough to justify his place (not that there's exactly a wealth of opposition) but I despise him.

P.S. And thats one of the main reasons Man utd PLC are after falling behind the big clubs in europe.
Gary Neville tries hard, but his ability as a football player is not there, arguably the best english right back is Glen Johnson

Au contraire, Carlos, Salgardo and Lauren are hardly examples of the most competant defenders in the world. Gary Neville's better than all of them. Carlos and Salgardo constantly shirk their defensive duties to lose possession upfield. Gary Neville is probably one of the best right backs in the world, certainly better than Carlos, Salgrado and Lauren.

I don't rate carlos as a defender at all! As a footballer, he's good, but can u honestly say he's a defender?
Again, G. Neville's crosses are always underated.

i like him as a player and a person, which is surprizing because people like rio, henry, beckham, all get on my nerves out of football!!
However, Neville is a great player, he is always consistant, great crosses and he also gets the odd goal or two!

lol. your a gas man dude.Neville is has no flair what so ever, he can't skip passed players like other more talented fullbacks such as Cole, Carlos and Cafu.
P.S. I rate Neville as an average defender, no way is he world class, no way. :p

Dont like him much but hes full of drive, passion, determination and always gets stuck in!
he hasn't got much quality tho and class midfielders wouldn't find it too difficult 2 get past him
Nasty-Pasty: Listen mate, saying that Neville is better than Carlos in anything, other than having hair on his head is utter bullshit. There is absolutly nothing that Neville can do better on the pitch aside from arguing with officials. People always say Carlos is a poor defender, but that's just because he adds so much to the offense. There aren't many fullbacks who are as fast and strong as he is, thus making it pretty difficult to pass him, his crosses are (remember the cross to Zidane? When did old Gary deliver such a beauty?) better, his passing, vision, pace, stamina, attitude, well...everything. Carlos, like Cole, is the ultimate modern fullback. Gary Neville is just a poor excuse.
