View Full Version : THE BIG ONE: Utd vs Arsenal
Roll up roll up, get the betting started :)
The odds on the draw are great. My money's all going there.
Yes, for a gambler he would put all his points on a draw, as either United or Arsenal can win it.

I don't like to bet against what I want to happen but I strongly feel it'll be a draw so 1000 on that.

Oh and Jak, just a quick calculation here..if you were to place all your points on Arsenal, and they were to win, you would be the proud owner of 55221.6 points ;)

OK how's this for a deal, we all put 8000 on an Arsenal win (seen as bboy only has 9628)
We could all end up very poor or very rich indeed :D

Man Utd must win, simple as that. Fergie will have to go at the end of this season if they can even just draw, I think it's that important.

Yeah, hope so, but Edu, Henry and Pires are all fit for the match, which should boost Arsenal's attacking play..

Arsenal shall win.
They will probably struggle at the beginning but then get into it and score atleast 2 goals. Man U will knock one in at the beginning or at the end.
2-1 Arsenal. ;)
Arsenal aren't on their form, they drew 2-2 with the Greek side in CL and also drew 1-1 against Rosenborg.
Neither are United either, with their 2 goalless draws in the last 7 days.
But United have avoided being defeated Arsenal in their 4 meetings last season, the first a 4-3 win in a penalty shootout, then 0-0 at home from a missed late penalty, then 1-1 at Highbury and 2-1 win at Villa Park without Henry.
In other words, Arsenal have failed to beat Manchester United in all their 4 games last season.
They did go into the season with confidence with a 3-1 win over the Red Devils in the Community Shield, but that was only down to United missing like, over 10 players???
United have to win, and they will.
United 2 - 0 Arsenal :D

If Lehmann plays i will say Arsenal will lose or draw. Manutd is still a good choice because they must win this game to regain their title hopes.
Yes Manchester United absolutely have to win this one or they're just as good as gone form the title race.
Anyway mods, how about making betting threads for the two other big games this weekends???
Real Madrid vs Valencia
&
AC Milan vs Inter Milan

So they are allowed to draw to Birmingham, but not Arsenal?
This is a six pointer at home, if they consider themselves title contenders.
A draw will simply be not enough to win them the title, especially consider what will that do to their confidence. Remember two years ago, MU win 2-0 at home which boost them to the title, the same could happen if they win this one.
Considering arsenal didnt beat man utd in the fa cup, league last season i will say a 2-1 win for Manchester United when it counts they do deliever.
!!Come on Man utd!!!
Real Madrid vs Valencia
&
AC Milan vs Inter Milan
ill be watching for sure.
Its got a draw written all over it.
And omg at them 2 games, makes me wish i had sky.
this is the first ever time ive put a bet on while being here so ive put 300 points on man united to win

It is pretty risky, since both teams are quite good.
Man U seems like a different attackingteam with Rooney with them now, so you never know.
Good luck betting. ;)
The best option for a neutral's point of view is definitely draw, best odds and between win and lose.
But for those of you here who wanna win, and win big, bet on United :D

Don't say that, we tried that last season and look what happened! Fines and suspensions all over the place. Although you can guarantee United will come out to kick us off the park as usual.

24-10-2004, 13:48
btw, ive bet...but the odds are very poor. Youd think man u would have a really bad chance of winning. like 16/1. ( I mean as in you put 1 on and win 16 back) Not as extreme as that but something like that. i put all my points on united to win...realising afterwards i will get a better win if i put it all on a draw!...

Christ, keep your pants on girls. We're still gonna win the league, especially after we beat you at highbury. Fortunate victory today. Should have been 0-0, no-one deserved to score a goal let alone win.

Arsenal will not retain their championship, thats a load of bollocks you can't base that on one loss

No your right I can't. I'm basing it on the fact that Arsenal have never one back to back titles. The wheels are coming off! The wheels are coming off!! Arsenal are still a class act though, they just haven't beaten United in two seasons.

If you were refering to me, which of course if your not I apologise. That was healthy banter between to football supporters, the past is the past agreed. But the past is truth and Arsenal haven't beaten United for two seasons. There was no agression in my post, like many others on the site I'm extremely happy that United have beaten a team that has not lost for 49 games. Arsenal are class, simple. But that doesn't mean I have captitulated to my own clubs chances of winng the league.

Well. Thank you Mutu, I hope it wasn't the drugs that influenced you to lose your dosh :o .
Figo10 and I, seemed to have seen the light or just must have a great football logic.
Seriously though, Arsenal were making United shit their pants after going 1 - 0 down. But the presence of Rio was too large to surpass.
Man Of The Match for me was Heinze, who is looking a great bargain for Man Utd PLC. Although Lauren wasn't too far behind him.
The Premiership is looking slightly less Gunnered now, which is good.
Christ, keep your pants on girls.
Why should they ? They just broke your 50th Unbeaten Anniversary and are back in the title race. Don't be so childish, girls keep your pants off ;) .

If we lose another couple when they win, then you can call them 'back in the title race'. Are Everton etc in the title race too?
They didn't break the record either they ended it. Not quite the same thing.

Ey ? I said ''Broke Your 50th Unbeaten Anniversary'' as in United were the ''Party-Poopers''.
And they are in the ''Title Race'', you seem to have forgotten we have 28 games to go in The Premiership. Anything can happen really, Everton are in it for sure, your just underrating them cause they are Everton :) .

Yeah great that Arsenal have finally lost, I think the rest of the Premiership teams can finally heave a sigh of relief, especially Manchester United.
Must be great heartbreak for Arsenal, they wouldn't mind ending their unbeaten run at 50 games, but at 49??? And against Manchester United??? At Old Trafford???
Well although it was the same ground they defeated the Red Devils 1-0 and won the title 3 seasons ago, this time it was simply not their's.
And viewing the blow Arsenal must have suffered form their defeat, they might lose their spirit and lose their next few games as well, remember after they lost to Everton they lost 3 more following games???
And Rooney will be their Bogeyman from now on :D :D :D
YYYEEEEEAAAAAAA!!!!!!   The Great Man Utd ended the arse's run!!! dammit i couldnt find another icon to express my joy!!!

I watched the game in a London pub and it was quite frankly a disgrace, full of all the usual southern United scum which make them as popular as they are.
What did make me laugh is they were all cheering and then the league table popped up and they were like "Oh we're fifth, behind Everton."
It was good to hear about the pea soup though!!!!
7RONALDO7
25-10-2004, 12:03
O yes, it's alright to throw Soup then is it!! And to think, arsenal fans are moaning over the pen!!!!!!!!
As far as I can see, everyone thought it was a Penalty apart from Campbell and Lehmann who had the best of views. From Riley's view and mine, it looked a certain penalty. Even my mate who flows Gunner blood, even said it was a penalty, until the replay came up.
Arsenal fans are very ignorant at this moment, can't they remember when Ashley Cole tookout Andy Cole and the ref went back on his decision and awarded no penalty ? Or 2 seasons ago at Highbury when United were facing them, Henry's goal was miles offside, yet the United players still managed to shake the Arsenal players hands atleast.
Whoever doesn't accept United were playing with some extra effort compared to Arsenal, needs to see a doctor ASAP.
