Mate put Mean Streets/ Goodfellas/Casino as one film 'cause they're practically a trilogy. Take out Once upon a time in America because you might as well vote for the Godfather, and then put in The Long Good Friday (my vote.) and Get Carter. Then movie it to the entertainment section.

Godfather or Goodfellas for me,

I love the Godfather as it inspired many other of my favourite films and made Al Pacino's career. It's also one the rare films whereby the second is actually as good as the first.

Most of all I love the scene in the diner with McCloskey and the Solazo when the train goes overhead.

Goodfellas I love too though, I love story, the narration, the betrayal and the bit where Joe Peschi stabs the guy to death with a pen.

But it's got to be Godfather Trilogy really.

Godfather trilogy, the first one is my favourite film of all time for just soo many reasons, Brando in my opinion delivers the strongest role of all time, hes just too good as Don Corleone, it was also the film that launced Pacino's career.... the film is as close as anything to perfection, and the scene at the end when the door closes upon Michael and Kay is just left there standing.... so cold

For me it's either Pulp Fiction/Goodfellas or Scarface -three essential DVDs in my collection. It's a close call, but I have to say - Scarface. Great acting, quality soundtrack and good climatic ending.

It's hard to choose, but Scarface takes it for me, the way Al Pacino slowly loses it, perfection.
The Godfather trilogy is also a legacy in itself. I love Casino too.

The thing is Goodfellas is The Best Film Ever Made, if the public weren't such pussies when it came to swearing and violence then it'd get voted No1 in every poll ever.

I don't reckon you should put Pulp Fiction or Reservoir Dogs in there, Pulps more of a farce and Dog's, well, if you put that in put "old boy" or some other Japanese gangster-style movie in. The genre does bring out some of the best films so you should maybe stick with the ones that have some factual bearing for the ultimate gangstER movie.

Which are Better British or American gangster movies ?

My favourite gangster film is Carlito's Way as it was brilliant and in many ways better than Scarface. The casting of Al Pacino & Sean Penn was perfect for me. One of the best bits of the film had to be where Carlito visits Kleinfeld in the hospital, and Carlito removes the bullets from Kleinfeld's gun and doesn't realize it until he is killed by Battaglia's son. Class. But the ending was probably the best part of the film, when Benny Blanco kills Carlito just as he was about to get away with Gail.

But the greatest film ever made in my opinion has to be The Godfather (Part II). The original was amazing on it's own but Part II was in many ways better than the original, especially Robert DeNiro's performance of Don "Vito" Corleone was just brilliant. Which is very rare nowadays in films where the sequel is as good/better than the original. I liked Part III, unlike many people. Andy Garcia's performance in Part III was class.

So for me the whole Godfather Trilogy is the greatest film ever made and greatest gangster film ever made.
