HOW TO DOWNLOAD THE PATCH

Method 1: Torrent
http://www.winningtheone.com/ubu.torrent
Open the torrent file and start downloading. Either right-click and save the link, then open it from your desktop, or click on the link there to open in your Bittorrent client. Please keep it seeding after you finish the download.

Method 2: FTP

Log into ftp.winningtheone.com -- username:ftp@winningtheone.com password:ftp
Download from there. IMPORTANT: Only download the folder "Ubumix2", it contains everything you need.

HOW TO APPLY THE PATCH:

1. Unpack the rar file, then, using Apache, open an UNPATCHED iso of Winning Eleven 8 (THIS IS NOT AN UPDATE! DO NOT PATCH OVER UBUMIX v.1.0!)

2. Select DATA_J.AFS, right click and select "Extract" - save to Desktop. Leave Apache open.

3. Open PPF-o-matic 3.0 - where it says "ISO File", enter the DATA_J you've just saved to the desktop (you'll have to select "all files" for it to show up in the Explorer window). Where it says "Patch", enter the file ubumix2.ppf from the Ubumixv2 folder. Click apply, and wait. Finally, ppf-o-matic will say it's finished, and you can burn your disc. But you can't, not yet.

4. Put the DATA_J back into PPF-o-matic as the iso file, and this time select "v2bugfix.ppf" from the "ubumixv2bugfix" folder as the patch. Click apply - this one will finish almost instantly.

5. Go back to Apache. Right click on DATA_J.AFS, select "Update", and replace it with the twice-patched DATA_J from the desktop. This will take a while, so be patient. NOTE: the computer often thinks Apache has crashed when it hasn't - if the hard-drive light on your computer is flickering, and you can still click on the very top of the Apache window and drag it around the desktop, it's probably working. Leave it at least 5 or 10 minutes or more for this file - if a box finally pops up and says it's ok, then IT IS OK.

6. Then do the same with the files OVER.AFS, and SLPM_656.57 - right click, "update", and replace them with the files of the same name from the ubumixv2bugfix folder (make sure you use the ones from that folder - the bugfix one). They will take a couple of seconds to apply. Then finally, do the same with the file WE8_OP.PSS (there's only one of these, and it's in the folder ubumixv2) - this will take slightly longer, but nowhere near as long as the DATA_J.

(IMPORTANT: Make sure you use the OVER.AFS and SLPM_656.57 from the correct folder, which is the BUGFIX folder. These have been bug-fixed :) )

6. That's it - close Apache, open DVD Decrypter/Nero/whatever you want to burn with, and burn your iso slowly (anything below x4 should be ok). If you're using the ripkit, apply the ripkit after patching, then save as bin & cue in CDMage.

7. Remember to start the game for the first time without a memory card, then save a new option file when Ubumix has loaded.

Ummm...well it's Yogui's bootpack 1.7, let me see... boots are not my strong point....

I know there are a couple of styles that have been done since this came out, but sheesh, this bootpack was released on November 11th, my patch was finished on the 20th, so it's reasonable. I think the best one is the Adidas boot in the top right...as seen in the Kaka pic above - the shine on it looks so great in the game.

I couldn't swear that all the boots are on all the right players, but I checked a few, and they were accurate (C. Ronaldo in gold version of the first Nike editable, Beckham in the white and red Adidas, etc)

do we have to import OVER.AFS and other files from v2 folder and then import same files again from v2update folder? or can we skip first part and just import those OVER.AFS (etc files except DATA_J.AFS) from v2update folder?

There's not that many players with edited stats - only a few who obviously needed it. I often play as Barca in League Mode, and I usually do ok so I didn't think they needed it. I think I took Eto'o's speed up, because he wasn't fast enough in WE8, but that's all. I wanted to take Real Madrid's stats DOWN, but I didn't.

Apart from the newly created players, I only altered stats of maybe 15 or 20 players in the whole game. These are the ones I remember...a few from the Premiership: Rooney - improved shooting, improved free kicks, improved aggression (!), lowered stats for consistency. C. Ronaldo - improved stamina so he doesn't run out of energy by half time. Fabregas - improved passing and teamwork. A few from Spain - Eto'o is faster, I think I improved Baptista and a few other stars of this season. I did the new database over a couple of weeks without much sleep, so I don't remember everything I did.....

larciel - no, you don't have to use the first OVER & SLPM files. The updated ones are all you need. I uploaded the main patch, then realized it needed that small bugfix, which meant new OVER & SLPM files. So the old ones are now useless, but they were already in the first patch folder, so it was too late to remove them.

I don't know... Xavi is always great for me. Thing is, Xavi is a technically limited player, but a player with great influence. So maybe it works that he has lower stats for a lot of things, but in the game he always seems to be the boss of midfield...

hi i got apache ke ke

and i got another problem ...

it is about data_j when i apply the patch to original data_j

and finished pathcing then the file size gonna be much bigger than

original it will be 894m therefore in apache , i cant replace that file...caus

im follwing this part, i did apply the ubumix2.ppf and bugfixone to

my original data_j.afs by ppf-magic sumthing...

the patched data_j should be a bit larger than the original data_j file. i suggest you redo the whole process. start with a clean ISO, extract the data_j file, patch it, and try it once more.

Your problem is you're trying to patch a rip version. You need to patch original DVD, and THEN apply ripkit.

The prob. is after doing the whole patching process and then when i tried to convert the patched iso using the Ripkit i had an error and u can see it in the attachments.

Are you sure you extracted the 'IOP' folder from the original iso?

It has to go in the rip folder along with everything else.....as a folder, not as separate files. If in doubt, don't extract by selecting all files in Apache at once....extract the other individual files together and THEN go back and extract the IOP folder on its own.

From the picture you posted, I think that's the problem. If it still doesn't work, then there's something wrong with your iso.

If you didn't have an IOP folder in there before, and you do now, no prayers are necessary :)

gedo - it's the KF ripkit. It says X-Box on it, but it works fine for PS2. If you search on here there's an ashmufc thread with a download link and a tutorial.

File size is large. about 300 mbs if I remember correctly.

you would need a modified ps2 to play the game. check out the stickies! :D

Great patch. Has just about everything that I need in a patch.

Not keen on the music though, but I can't be botherd to sort that out.

I really need xps2para+0.98 though. I've put in Sunderland AFC over what was the team that replaced PES United and plan to put another Championship (Division 1) team over the team that used to be WE United.

However I can't for the life of me get a hold of xps2para+0.98. I need this software to make changes I make fixed so that when I start Master League, the changes I make stay and nothing screws up the game.

Anyone care to pass it on or offer a working link?

Glad you liked it -- the music is all TV sports themes and weird stuff, cos it's better than just putting rap or rock or whatever. If you do that, some people will love it and some will really, really hate it. So if you put weird stuff on, at least no one's gonna say "ah shit, it's Jay-Z/Foo Fighters/Eminem/Daniel Bedingfield/whatever, I hate them".

I think there's a link somewhere on this site to xps2para+0.98 - if not, there'll be one at www.evo-web.co.uk, probably. I had problems with it, personally.

chelsea_fan -- you need to start at the beginning, mate, this patching lark isn't complicated but it requires half an hour of reading (go to the General Editing section here and read the sticky threads). You're also going to need either a chipped PS2 - expensive - or a Swap Magic disc and slide card - fairly cheap. And the actual patching is only as complicated as using e-mail or something. It's simple once you know what you're doing. File download is big for this patch though -- about 1 GB in total -- cos almost everything in the game is changed.

No it won't work with PES4, but I'm currently looking into making a stadium pack for PES4, featuring just the stadia and the new grass textures for the pitches. There are other PES4 patches (Jonboyo's being the most obvious) which give you the kits, and the balls and boots etc., but I don't think there's a patch for PES4 that has all the stadia, and there certainly isn't one with the stadia I made myself. I still play WE8 personally, but I'm going to have a good look at the stadium folders in PES4 and see how easy it is to transfer the files.

You shouldn't all keep talking about a cd-rip torrent, because the mods will box your ears. But there definitely is one about (nothing to do with me), and it's only a matter of time before it turns up on the big torrent sites. I'm only telling you lot cos you've all got the original WE8, of course...

You can get Apache from Lomungtung's ftp - it doesn;t matter that it's so slow, because Apache is only a tiny program.

The DATA_J shouldn't be a different size after patching. If you're absolutely sure you didn't do anything wrong in the earlier stages, you can try making a cd version with the ripkit, using this larger DATA_J....it might work. If not, try starting again.

Pere, thanks for an excellent patch. Love it. Having some WEN booty to go along with this and it would have been perfect! :)

But did as you suggested earlier, played the International Cup on 5 minutes games at 1-star difficulty. 7 games later (an hour or so after) and got 3,000 WEN bonus as World Champions. So could finally buy the Ball Option in the WEN Shop. Now I get to play with the Aero Yellow ball like the boys in EPL. Cool!!

When you open the unpatched iso from the we8 dvd with apache do you wait for a while or it opens instantlly? And after the patching proccess after you put the patched dvd on the ps2 when the language
selection screen appears is it in japanese or english?

Hi, it seems that http://www.winningtheone.com/ubu.torrent can't be found (404). I'm currently using the torrent found from lokitorrent but it only has 99% availability although there're 10 peers in the swarm. Initially I downloaded from the ftp but for some reason got disconnected halfway through and can't reconnect since it only accepts max 5 connections.

If anyone here has the complete files (both UBUMIXv2.rar and ubumixv2bugfix.rar), please be kind enough to reseed. I think opening the torrent for just a couple of hours is enough to make the 100% availability in the swarm and then you can disconnect. Just in case you don't register to lokitorrent, you can download the torrent from http://tanuel.com/ubumix_v2.torrent
