View Full Version : Excessive picture reduction
In an aim to reduce load times for people with slower connections and just make the forum look tidier in general we would kindly ask everyone to limit excessive pictures and small movies in the sigs and avatars. What we’re classing as excessive are .gifs and multiple large images.
As of today admins will remove images from people’s profiles that they class as excessive.
450*150 pixels maximum.

do you consider my avatar and sig to be excessive? if you do i will kindly remove it for you. :)
We're getting rid of gifs, so if you could take them out of your sig and make replace them with still versions in a smaller format that would be great.
Thanks.

Probably best to, yes.
Size is supposed to be 450 (width) x 150 (height).
i guess mine will have to go:(..........i'll change it later, if thats cool with u lot
Probably, and I'd say naths is definately too big
You're only meant to have one picture in there, so pick

I thought you called me a prick then! But I mis-read it. I've changed both sigs and got a new one which is within the boundries.

I think the picture in my sig is a decent enough size but is there a rule regarding how many lines long your sig can be?
Everyone please remember .gifs will be removed from sigs by admins along with any picture way over the official size of 450 x 150.

I'm replying, to answer Tom's question.
Yeah um I forgot to reply to that. Text isn't too bad so as long as it's not super long it should be fine.
LOL, mine has to go. Got to get to work on Photoshop again.
How Ronaldo7UTD's signature has survived is beyond me.

No.
Any sigs below the specified values result in a 2 day ban.

Max image width should be 450 pixels.
Max image height should be 150 pixels.
No more animated gifs. And no huge text that makes the sig take up a lot of space.
Can people please sort their sigs out or they will be removed for them.
Gues this pic is way too big?
How can I make a pic smaller, don't know a lot about computers but if you can tell me as simple as possible I would be very happy since I like my new pic in my signature.
Can anybody please help me???? I don't want to get banned!!!!

Well triple posting aint exactly gonna help.
Use the edit feature - or even better wait longer for a reply.

You wouldn't be banned for using a pic that is too large, it would probably be removed for you.
Go to the sticky (at the top) thread in the Testing/Advertising section where some nice person will help resize any image for you.
And try to wait more than 30 minutes before trying to bump a thread.

Several people are using images in their sig that are far too big.
So fix them up quicktime or they may be removed by the admin.
Are images still allowed? I had this really small cover of a CD as my sig and it was removed? It might be possible that an admin tried to remove my old one which I had just changed.

Teekay, why do you need so much space between each line of your sig text?

It's fixed now... but does it really matter?

Yes it looks untidy. Your sig is still far too high. Just the links on the same line, and whats the point in having your name in your Sig as well.

People still don't care to read the signature image size rules.
From now on, if I find any sig images that are too large, they will be removed and a message left in its place.

Can i just ask why we have to resize our signatures etc and yet Zyg and TeeKay and probably many others have a small picture in thier signature? i mean i did ask a while back about my old signature which was only 400 x 100 and yet the pictures other people have in thier sigs are 280 x 150 or somewhere around that

If it wasn't for the fact other admins would flame me, I'd probably ban you for a day. Read the forum rules regarding signatures, which we must of mentioned a million times.

The signature cannot be more in width and lenght than the rules say.

IS this joaquin pic/sig a small enough size to have as my sig ?
p.s from now on i'll always read the forum announcements and warnings :o
codename, don't want to speak for the admins but it doesn't break the rules with regards to size.
