I am making a Link for people to write in on what phrases and comments should be made by the commentators. I find them highly annoying and seem to be perfect at picking the wrong lines for the wrong time. It is quite late for me so I will write up the phrases and comments I believe should be made. I am just hoping some of you can contribute your own ideas.
Thanks

just listen to the atmosphere as the two teams enter the arena for what should be an absolute cracker.

They should add certain things such as "Beckham- took that beautifully on his chest oh and wot a ball into the path
Of V.nistlerooy" just to make it seem more scripted!!!
And also make the names sound more flowing as a lot of them sound really out of place!
Maybe they should play a match and get the commentator's to commentate and take extracts out!
Its just a thaught.........

Sorry to mention the dirty F-word here, but I really think that Fifa 2003's commentary is in a different league compared to Pro Evo 2. I am a rabid hater of all things Fifa, but you've gotta admit that it's better. The commentators in Fifa babble on about what certain players have done in previous matches etc and don't ever mention that 'the pitch looks black under the lights'.
The commentators in Pro Evo should use the past tense a bit more and talk about nice set pieces or moves during replays or just after it's happened. Current events and a build up of excitement as players string together passes and get closer to the box for a shot. Simple "Beckham, Scholes...holds onto it...Giggs is free....backheel to Beckham...What a shot! Right into the top left-hand corner..."etc, etc. Not that much to ask, is it?
If the stats feature is anygood in PES3 it could also be linked to the commentary and facts about players or teams can be said by the commentator.

I would have to agree Fifa's commentary is in a completely different league to the PES series.
They really need to rescript everything. They need to add in history, facts (Interesting and funny), in general they have their work cut out.
The roots of the problem is very simple:
They must have a 12 year old writing the scripts. Why you ask?
Example: 'He heels it back.'
Is it just me or is that extremely poor english?
Maybe they could use a phrase similar to this.
'That was an extremely cheeky backheel from Henry, It's caught the opposition off-guard.'
The timing of the commentary needs to be improved as well as the use of phrases actually being relevant to the passage of play.
Lets pray they take note, and act upon peoples grumbles.

They should say different things depending on the superstar, for example :(Zidane) "An absolute genius he is", or (Beckham) "His accuracy is pin point perfect".

what you say gooner about the bad english is completely true. konami have even admitted that themselves. apparantly they just did a direct translation from the japanese game when creating the script which is why the commentary is so bad. peter brackley or trevor brooking should really have said something but i guess they wern't bothered as long as they were getting paid :)! but don't worry because apparantly konami are employing some english people to write the scripts this time around.

I had a kind of guess that they just translated the Japanese to English. I'm glad you say that they are going to employ English script writers.
Thank God!
You are attacking with Brazil and the ball slips behind the goal line only for the commentator to shout "crespo". What ? In fact there are mentions for pretty much every Argentine player from time to time. Bizarre.
I'd like the highly annoying "let's look at this incident" "now this incident" - in fact no commentary here is better than "now this was a very interesting incident"
perhaps the commentators could just talk over the highlights about the match, read out a few stats or talk about the game.
when henry scores they could say "henryyy yees, fantastic finish from the sublime frenchman!" and stuff like that. little facts like "that takes henry's goal tally to 15 goals in 26 games"
And you've just slaughtered a team 14-0 with them having 3 sent off and 2 own goals. No shots, no corners, 32% of possession when trevor lets the viewers know that " well they took a bit of a beating but they didn't play that badly"
lol also the obligatory "well it was a good game to watch, even though the goals werent there" it was 4-1 trevor!!!!!
maaaan it gets so repetitive. also the "well he played quite well with his approach play" .. what!!? my goalkeeper??!!!!
So a short pass to the left back must be considered good approach play ! And the %0 yard curler that hits the bar with the keeper beaten only to informed that " he didn't try very hard with that effort". But at least bad fouls are called unlike 'real' t.v. commentators

"He's gone round one...two and it's still Giggs...still Giggs...and...oh...he's scored!"
"Don't forget league form can count for nothing in a cup game"
"This lad is the top scorer in the league at the moment"
"What a fantastic save!"
"XXXX need to get a goal if they want anything out of this game"
"It looks like XXXX are going out of the cup unless they can nick something here"
"Would you believe it!?!"
