Portsmouth did well to win on their debut, Sheringham and Berger scored on their debut which showed they have good new signings.

jardel aint gonna make a difference is he? To score you have to work as a team and i thiink jardel will be a flop.

The new signings for the newly promoted clubs seemed to do well and some scored - Sheringham, Berger and Ferdinand. Portsmouth did better than I expected today, but it's early days. First day results aren't too much to go by.
I think that Man Utd will be championship winners this season again. Ronaldo looks to be a class act, I'm looking forward to watching 'The Premiership' tonight to see him play. From what I've heard on the radio and on TV, he was brilliant. I think it's too early to comment on how the other clubs will fare. I just think Man Utd have too good a squad, and will sail to championship glory! Arsenal simply haven't signed enough quality.

I'm actually quite shocked that Fulham managed to win!

He really does sound like something special! As I said before, I'm looking forward to 'the premiership' tonight! I suppose that will be the main game.

Veron scored for chelsea @ anfield. 0-1 @ h/t. a good goal for chelsea. why didnt he do that for man utd??

elliottume
17-08-2003, 16:14
I'm not sure. Hopefully now we'll be able to see the true Veron! :D

jag87
17-08-2003, 17:43
yeah maybe we will. He played alot more fluently today i think. Deserves a pat on the back. Chelsea won 2-1 at anfield which is proper good i think.

controversial penalty decision though. Owen sent it miles wide and the ref told him to take it again! :(

Lucky Jimmy Floyd scored late on.

he missed and even if cudicini was off his line a little, it wouldnt make a difference because its not like he saved it.

elliottume
17-08-2003, 19:17
yeah, it was a referee error.

I have a feeling that Arsenal will def challenge and if Chelsea gel as a team they might be awesome. I wouldn't be so confident after 1 game. I bet Fergie isn't!

To be onest i dont think chelsa was that good i think they was just as good as be4 but with back up............... maybe if they play betta together then maybe!!! but i still think that it'll be:

1st. Man U
2nd. Arsenal
3rd. Newcastle

rebusrahman

Paul B

I reckon that rebus could be right. I think that Chelsea will challenge Arsenal for 2nd spot.

rebusrahman
19-08-2003, 15:35
U can't just expect them to be amazing straight away? It will take at least third of the season I reckon then there may well be fireworks!

jag87
19-08-2003, 18:21
chelsea wont win anything except the carling cup maybe or have a good fa cup run. Thats all. the team needs a season or two to gel. They didnt look convincing at liverpool even though they won.

rebusrahman
20-08-2003, 22:01
Well it was Liverpool and Chelsea have only played like 5 games together so far! Man U only played Bolton (who they were unable to beat last season!)

jag87
03-09-2003, 15:13
But we won convincingly 4-0! We deserved that!
