Glad someone's debating the list finally.
I was quite surprised not to see AZ's famous verse on Life's A Bitch to be honest, I thought it would be a certainty.
I like Lyrics of Fury, but they have made better verses. There have been so many good verses though so a list like this is just futile. Can't disagree they are good though.

It's hard to make a list like that because it really is a matter of preference and it's a lot harder to determine the grounds of what to make the list from. :/ If that made much sense.

friend of mine gave me Reebok artist spotlight..pretty good stuff.
Lil Wayne's Tha Carter III becomes the first album in more than three years to sell a million copies in a week.
The opus sold 1,006,000 copies to debut at #1 on Nielsen/SoundScan's list of the best-selling albums in the U.S. That's the biggest sales week since another rap album, 50 Cent's The Massacre, bowed at #1 in March 2005 with sales of 1,141,000.
Frankly, I was starting to think that the days of albums selling a million copies in a week were gone forever. Rascal Flatts didn't even come close in 2006 when Me And My Gang opened with sales of 722,000. Even the red-hot Kanye West fell short when his latest, Graduation, bowed in 2007 with sales of 957,000. And those were the biggest one-week sales totals for those years. Until this week, the heftiest tally for 2008 was less than half of West's total. Mariah Carey's E=MC2 had held the record for 2008 with sales of 463,000.

Impressive. I was expecting good numbers but not of this magnitude especially for a decent album like the Carter III.

Had to laugh too, there's only a few good songs on Tha Carter 3 to be honest. Seems like the drugs have gone to his head, half of the shit he says just doesn't make sense. Still can't believe this album got rave reviews, hype is ridiculous.
It was okay, had a few good songs but it doesn't warrent "best rapper alive" status.

Got that latest Little Brother album, still haven't given it a listen though. Will do soon enough mind, especially after The Minstrel Show which I still lsiten to every now and then.
The new Nas CD which is coming out soon is shaping up to be great, only been a few songs released so far but they definetely sound like Nas has that motivation again. His new album doesn't have a title like, but I'm sure it will be easy enough to find coming up to it's release.
Just seen Stillmatic on Play for £3 so it's definetely worth a buy mate: http://www.play.com/Music/CD/4-/148136/Stillmatic/Product.html
If I get more time I'll post a few more suggesstions definetely mate.

Don't get me wrong I look out for My favourite artists still, Nas, Jay, Common, Mos Def a few others but i haven't downloaded a mixtape for years and I rarely go looking or give new artists a chance unless I hear them on MTV etc...

Finally some new Dr. Dre production, it's as if he's been hiding under a rock for the past year. I've almost lost hope in Detox ever being released, but according to Bishop Lamont the album is 60/70% done. This is apparently Lamont's first single from his album The Reformation set for this fall. Any new production from the Doc is always a treat and is the closest possible way to hearing what Detox would sound like.
Bishop Lamont - Grow Up (http://www.zshare.net/audio/146306111e693165/)

They say I'm all about murder-murder and kill-kill
But what about Grindhouse and Kill Bill?
What about Cheney and Halliburton?
The backdoor deals, on oil fields
How is Nas the most violent person?
Ya'll don't know talent if it hit you
Bringing up my criminal possession charges with a pistol
I use Viacom
As my firearm
And let the lyrics split you
Who do you rely upon?
They shoot shells at Leviathan
I'm dealing with the higher form
Fuck if you care how I write a poem?
Only fox that I loved was the red one
Only black man that Fox loves is in jail or a dead one!
Wow! Just. Wow! Nas reminding us, that he is the same bloke that made "Ether".

That album has classic written all over it, just gave it the first listen through and theres not one track I even thort skip that one... Thank god I still check for Nas even though I've fell outta love with rap music.
Album is outstanding. "Queens Get The Money" is easily one of the best introductions to an album I've ever heard.
"I'm over there heads, like a bulimic on a see-saw"
The track with Game and Chris Brown is weird in a way that I didn't notice Jayceon on the track, but went back and listened to it only to be shocked, he's on the second verse and sounds identically like Nas on that, from the flow, voice even to the punchlines. Talk about being a fan  .
Good to see you back man, thanks for that Bishop Lamont track. Completely forgot he was releasing it, downloading it already, I expect to rape it on the iPod.
Haven't 'acquired' the new Nas album yet either, but after some of the latest things I've been hearing, I really can't wait now. I was told that the "Be A N***** Too" song wasn't on the album though, this true ? The song is great so I really hope it's on, downloaded the 8 minute video for it which is always a good watch/listen.
PS: The album cover is easily one of the best in recent years.

Quality, thanks. I'm guessing when it's released as a proper album in a case etc, it will just be a "UK Bonus Track" as always described.
got my copy last night and with first listen impression is its typical nas, a heart on sleave and heart felt delivery of an album. like wat they did to the beat on 'slave and the master'. an outstanding album and has agen cemented his place as my greatest of all time.

Wow! I can not believe the power of youtube! I've been looking for this rare music video for the past 8 years. Ever since my older brother had it on VHS back in the mid 90's, which he used to watch religiously. The track itself is just timeless to me, the flawless production combo of Sam Sneed & Dr. Dre is the main reason for it. This was during the Death Row Era, when they were a powerhouse in both the hiphop and mainstream industries.
Unfortunately Sam Sneed suffered a brain tumour in the late 90's thus forcing him to abandon his music career, but I've just found out he made a full recovery a few years back and is back to producing again, not sure if he's still rapping though.

Very nice logic, sir. Maybe you'd hear the tunes a bit better with your head out of Nas' rectum though.
Untitled does have some mediocre production, and Nas' beat selection is something that's been criticized since Illmatic, but just like a good beat doesn't necesarilly translate to a great song, a mediocre beat doesn't have to drag a song down.
There might not be much mindblowing production on the album, but there's certainly plenty of great songs.

Thank you, good post. Indeed, but it does annoy me greatly still.
The fact is though, 'Illmatic' would be nowhere to close to being the classic it is known as today without the likes of DJ Premier, Pete Rock, Large Professor, L.E.S, and Q-tip. My point is: production and beat selection can be the difference between a master-piece and a decent album.

Indeed, great logic suggesting I'm up Nas' arse because I have eardrums that actually function properly and a brain that is able to translate sound waves into speech.

Mediocre? What makes a beat mediocre to you? The only beats I can see being judged as "mediocre" on this album are "Hero" and "Make The World Go Round". And that's only because of the actual producers Polow Da Don and Cool & Dre, which is just your typical hiphop ignorance, just because a producer dabbles in pop culture, it does not mean they aren't "hiphop" enough for an album, like say DJ Premier. This album is fantastic, the beats compliment the outstanding lyricism from Nas and don't outshine him like most mainstream rappers such as Fat Joe, who has a great ear for beats, but this works against him with most of the time the beats being too much for him to match.

Stop living in the past. Nowadays you don't need to have DJ Premier on board in order to make a classic album or Pete Rock (who's last album was very disappointing). Rap music has changed and so has the sound of it, we have new producers nowadays who are the equivalent to Large Professor back in the 90's, such as Jay Electronica (who is hugely impressive by the way), Mark Ronson (Amy Winehouse's Back to Black), DJ Toomp (Kanye West's Graduation) etc. Beat selection does make a big difference, but you're going on as if the beat selection on this album is awful, which I find hilarious.

I didn't say it did. :erm: It was just an example of a team of super producing taking something very good onto the next level.
And dude... have you been living in a cave or something? Nas has been hugely criticised for a while with his selection of beats and Untitled was a prime example of why. If you find that hilarious then I don't know what's wrong with you. Don't get me wrong, Nas is still the man and his lyricism and flow is completely on point.
Out of interest, if this is a classic, how would it rank amongst Nas' other material?

Erm i never said anything about DJ Premier or pop producers. Polow da Don is a genius in my eyes and one of the best "new" producers out there (and Hero is an excellent beat imo). Mediocre production is mediocre production, doesn't matter if it's by Pete Rock or The Runners, or if it's boom bap or crunk. I can't listen to the album right now to point them out, but there are certainly a few songs that aren't really impressive beat wise.

And dude... have you been living in a cave or something? Nas has been hugely criticised for a while with his selection of beats and Untitled was a prime example of why.
At no point did I say Nas was never critised for his selection of beats. Ofcourse everyone has been critising him since Illmatic, expecting him to release album upon album with perfect production quality which is harsh in my eyes. I think the criticism is forced and boring now. People are just giving his albums a quick listen and saying the same thing "he has no ear for beats blahzayblah", without properly giving thought to what the purpose of the album is.
Untitled is a politically fuelled album, it's main subjects are discrimination, black history and the recent "Nas Vs The Higher Powers of American Media" incidents. I believe the beats compliment the theme to the album perfectly, people who don't, simply don't understand the messages Nas is trying to send through this 9th studio release of his.
Out of interest, if this is a classic, how would it rank amongst Nas' other material?
I hate ranking albums. This is the main problem with hiphop fans today, people are just comparing, constantly comparing rather than listening and appreciating the music made.
I admit I used to suffer from this disease too, it's one of the stupid reasons I stopped listening to hiphop music for awhile, which now looking back was just ignorant.
I mean if you're going to compare every Nas album to Illmatic and continue to say "this album is not a classic", then we might aswell not bother having a discussion. This comment is indirectly aimed at you Keyser and JoeyM, because judging from recent posts I believe you 2 carry this sort of mentality. Or I'm probably being over critical.

I can't even be arsed right now. Get off your high horse though for a start.
"people don't understand it"
"I used to be the same as you"
 Right.
Well we might aswell not have this discussion, because my statement was a matter of opinion (one which a lot of knowledgable heads can agree with) and you went off on a 'good music' schooling which was simply wrong. I appreciate good music, and can appreciate some of the top songs on Untitled whilst recognising a lot of the beats are meh. And that has NOTHING TO DO WITH ILLMATIC or anything he's done previously.
It seems to me, more than anything, you fail to hear past much more than the lyrics and concepts which (as always) is top notch from Nas - otherwise I am astounded at how people can't see it.

A Triple H (High Horse Hypocrite), defined  .
Call it being on a high horse as much as you want, my opinions are based on facts, period. Regardless if you feel that I'm being all high and mighty about it. I don't really care about your opinions on my personality, you're not a female so let's stick to the subject please.
I went off on a "good music" thesis because you didn't and still haven't elaborated on why the production is "meh" :innocent: , apart from talking about how Illmatic was a masterpiece. Hence why this discussion should be over, because I'm still waiting and have been for the past 2 pages.

I'm disappointed that my favorite rapper is caught wearing a Man Utd shirt in a video. He looks a bit like Anderson.
Clearly Pusha T has taste. Good song though.
I love "Fast Life", the beat is so addictive, Scott Storch really pulled his finger out for this one.
"It's the all mighty duo, you know
Critically acclaimed moving weight like a Sumo" - Pusha T
"And the boy got swagger
Popular, rolling stone, I'm Mick Jagger" - Malice
I must admit I'm a sucker for the Clipse and their kingpin-drug-dealer-bravado-esque lyrics, personally think they are the best in that department (excluding Jay-Z). Despite the likes of Young Jeezy gaining more popularity than them from it.
Agreed. They're by far the most talented of all the coke rappers that have risen to popularity in the past few years. I'd urge anyone who doesn't have their We Got It 4 Cheap mixtapes to download them now (particularly vol 2 and 3).

"From yay' tall I was MJG with the 8-Ball
A living legend - I played them keys/ki's like Ray Charles" - Pusha T
Don't even get me started on Volume 3. One of my favourite mixtapes of all time. I can remember listening to "Rainy Dayz" for a whole day, I'm talking from 10am to 10pm, on constant repeat. I seriously think their version is on the same level, if not better, than Raekwon's on Cuban Linx. Everyone's delivery was just incredible on that, especially Sandman's verse, how he just draws you into his past describing how he was introduced to the drug game, flawless narration.
And as far as Clipse as a duo. This is by far the greatest song they've done so far in my opinion.
L1DGRAysbPw
"Fear him, as soon as you hear him
Upon my arrival, the dope dealers cheer him
Just like a revival, the verse tends to steer him
Through a life in the fast lane, I German engineer 'em
No serum can cure, all the pain I've endured
From crack to rap, to back to selling it pure
For every record I potentially sell in the store
It's like Mecca to the dealer that's selling it raw
So many deceive ya
I'm more in touch with the keys/ki's, move over Alicia
I force feed ya the metric scale
Rap's like child's play, my show and tell
Within each verse you see the truth's unveiled
They manufacture proof as they lie to themselves
Puppets on the string like a yo-yo
Bouncing like a pogo, they're praying I never go solo
The wool's removed and now I see
My leg was pulled, the joke's on me
So heartbreaking, like loving a whore
Might hurt you once, but never no more
It's like trying to fly but they clipping your wings
And that's exactly why the caged bird sings
Who can nickname it, the shame rings true
Seems to me reparations are overdue
I done been to the top, I done sipped the juice
And with that being said, bird crumbs will never do
Even on my last not a penny in the bank
I'ma stand on my own, so thanks but no thanks
Keep the pranks as I bid farewell
I gotta answer to Marcus and Jennell
And to little brother Terrence who I love dearly so
If ever I had millions never would you push blow, never
I'm the best since he died, and he lied
The spirit of competition, one verse could start jihad
CPR Pusha, the flow tends to revive
Pulling the covers back, I expose what you disguise
My presence is felt, the pressure is on
A four eleven cuban helped us weather the storm
Pyrex and powder, it was back to the norm
Through all the adversity the fury was born
Niggas don't get the picture, it's written in scripture
Even ask your mama she'll tell you that blood's thicker
And I don't know how them other niggas built
And I don't know if ever they feel guilt
Or maybe niggas just too high on they stilts
But this one's on me, I'ma view it as spilt milk
Grandma look at me, I'm turning the other cheek
It's the R-E-U-P G-A-N-G
My favorite is either that or Keys Open Doors
Open the Frigidaire, 25 to life in here
So much white you might think ya Holy Christ is near
Throw on your Louis V millionaires to kill the glare
Ice trays? Nada! All you see is pigeons paired
The realest shit I ever wrote, not Pac inspired
Its crack pot inspired
The way he totally dismisses the influence of the biggest rapper of all time in a bar and a half is brilliant.
I've been on a bit of a mixtape kick recently due to the lack of albums. I got around to checking out Bishop Lamont and the man really is excellent. He'll supposedly be to Detox as Snoop was to The Chronic, which bodes well if Send A Nigga Home off of The Confessional mixtape is anything to go by.
Found this on another forum:
GZA - Paper Plates (50 Cent diss)
http://www.zshare.net/audio/15552672f6e234d7/
It's a shame that GZA has went down the route of dissing 50 Cent for attention, especially to promote his new album. We all know 50 Cent does it every time, but I would of thought that GZA had enough respect and decency not to do so. Anyway, the diss itself is a bit disappointing in comparison to the ability he possesses. I liked this though:
"Have you ever been stung by a thousand hornets,
Five hundred Killa Beez, buzzing and really on it,
Whipped with "Cuban Linx", and cut with "Liquid Swords"
Choked by "Ironman" till we crush your vocal chords..."

been listening a lot of Jay-Z recently, the black album and the blueprint in particular. And for any basketball fans i kinda like his DeShawn Stevenson diss (PRo Lebron) event though im a wizards fan.
How ironic. Likewise, I've been rotating both Kingdom Come and American Gangster back and forth. I've actually just realised I've been listening to "Do U Wanna Ride" alone for the past 4 hours and probably will continue to until I fall asleep.
Recently I have been studying this superb track intensively. The song is a tribute to Jay-Z's childhood friend Emory Jones, who is currently incarcerated, throughout the song Hov' is talking about how him an Emory grew up with similar dreams whilst boasting about his various accomplishments and how he can't wait until Emory is able to share his lavish lifestyle with him.
The beat itself is one of the greatest I've ever heard, especially how it goes into some sort of mysterious bridge on his last verse.
I don't think it's a sample either, which only forces me to conclude that Kanye West is infact not a human being!
Mobb Deep for biggest fall off of all time?
Indeed. The likes of Jay-Z and Nas have used this to their advantage. Everything after Murda Muzik was lacklustre. Prodigy changed his style completely adopting a lazy like flow. I blame their obsession for mainstream success, signing to G-Unit being the pinnacle of their downfall.
The most underrated rappers on the face of this Earth.

I apologise for my youtube abuse, but I can't believe I forgot to share that track with everyone. It's off his tour CD, which has been out for the past couple of months. I treat it as an appetiser for his album, set for release next month. Him and Royce Da 5'9 ripped the beat to shreds, it was produced by Black Milk incase you were wondering. Detroit hiphop at it's best.

Yeah the Elzhi- Preface is gonna be the shit.
games new track is decent "my life" with lil wayne. wasnt so sure bout LAX a few months back but im hearing more and more and its very good material even if its nt on the album. his interview in RWD mag recently is quite interesting too.
My Life is possibly my least favourite song released from LAX so far. I'd definetely put Dope Boys, Game's Pain and even the street track Big Dreams ahead of it. However I guess because Wayne's hot at the moment, My Life's video is being released.
My Life is defintely my favourite out of the tracks released. Tbh from what i've heard of L.A.X my expectations are not high and it could be another let down like Doctor's Advocate.

The "Sly Fox" video has been out for over a month I believe, it was directed by Rik Cordero and does not feature Nas in the video.

I'm not expecting great things. I didn't exactly like American Gangster. But at least it was better than Kingdom Come, which was pretty bad in my eyes.
I thought Kingdom Come was very solid and surprisingly underrated. American Gangster itself is a classic album in my eyes, that I'll still be listening to 10 years from now if I'm still alive, the production is exceptional and the theme is executed with such quality and desire that you end up admiring as if it was a piece of art.
Apparently Blueprint 3 will be produced by Kanye West only.

So beat wise its going to be very VERY average
I don't know that's down to opinions really, I personally think Kanye West is arguably the best producer on the planet, his chemistry with Jay-Z is incredible, the amount of classic tracks they've made together from "This Can't Be Life", "Takeover", "Heart Of The City", "Encore", "Lucifer" etc.
Gunplay's Hiphop Randomness #1
Which one of these 2 tracks do you prefer?
They both sample this:
OMrxvKiwOps
AZ Version:
UFFpFeTZXFA
Ice Cube Version:
s8eHfVBHY3Q
I could never really get into Kingdom Come but then again I only heard around half the album. As for American Gangster, I love it. As Gunplay said, the theme has been executed to perfection and the fact he stays on theme throughout justifies even more that the album should be rated highly. The production is ridiculously suitable as well and I'm definetely glad I bought the album. Jay is lyrically on point as well on American Gangter, which is great to hear.
As for the debate between the 2 songs using the same sample. I honestly like them both, they're both great which obviously makes it difficult. However Ice Cube's stood out more for me for some reason, still trying to figure out why.
anyone downloaded LAX yet?
Heard LAX, and to be honest, unless I'm missing something, the album isn't anything special. I'd rate it above "Doctor's Advocate", but not above "Documentary". There's some really enjoyable listens on the album, but there's also a few dull fillers on the album which is disappointing. I was expecting more from the album but it's still worth a few listens. Not sure if it's worth a purchase mind.

Well, my opinion is that Stoupe The Enemy of Mankind, is the best producer on the planet.
Plus, i think that Kanye West is a disgrace, and an egomaniac cunt that promotes idiocy and many of those things that are wrong with today's 'industry'.

I'm not particularly impressed by his latest album. Far too much name dropping as well.
The Documentary > Doctor's Advocate > LAX.

Obviously it's matter of opinions. To me, Kanye West is excellent, and shows every emotion he goes through and is feeling. Which is what the industry needs desperately, there is far too many artists who you can tell don't show their raw emotions and usually say 'what is required'. Kanye West is pure emotion, some people may hate him whining or complaining about not receiving awards, but in a way it just shows he cares passionately about the music business.
I'm not particularly impressed by his latest album. Far too much name dropping as well.
The Documentary > Doctor's Advocate > LAX.
I'm like you in the sense I'm not particularly impressed but I think people fail to understand that this "name-dropping" is his style, everyone has their style and it's just Game's. He addressed it a few months ago, and said he wouldn't stop because it's just how he works.
Well, my opinion is that Stoupe The Enemy of Mankind, is the best producer on the planet.

Your opinion has nothing to do with his music, but his image. Therefore I will not argue with you.

"Cali Sunshine", "House Of Pain" and "Let Us Live" are also great songs.
What angers me enormously though is my favourite track barely made the album and just about scraped onto the Deluxe Edition. Left Click (http://www.zshare.net/audio/17437578a53c6f6f/)
I'm not particularly impressed by his latest album. Far too much name dropping as well.
The Documentary > Doctor's Advocate > LAX.
His name-dropping has never bothered me. It's part of his style, some hate it and some don't mind it, latter is me, previous is you I guess.
I disagree with the rating, personally I think: Doctor's Advocate > The Documentary > L.A.X
I haven't heard that "Newz" yet, but downloaded 4 cut songs the other day, still haven't got round to listening to them mind.
I'd have to strongly disagree with your opinion of Doctor's Advocate being his best though. It maybe his strongest effort in terms of having no help from Dre, 50 Cent and previous others meaning it was his individual album. But in my opinon of course, it just doesn't stand up to The Documentary which is more standout.
I was going to post in here before but forgot, I was going to ask whether people believe either album is a classic in their opinion since it's Game's and 50's main debut albums:
http://img125.imageshack.us/img125/1042/gamethedocumentarycx3.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
http://img125.imageshack.us/img125/871/getrichordietryinbt4.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
I probably prefer GRODT, especially the bonus tracks I think they are: U Not Like Me, Lifes On The Line. I don't think The Documentary is "classic" material, and GRODT is debatable but I'd say it probably is as far as a Gangsta Rap album goes.
His name-dropping has never bothered me. It's part of his style, some hate it and some don't mind it, latter is me, previous is you I guess.

In my opinion The Documentary is by far his best album. There wasn't one song I skipped. I'm not sure it's a classic but it's a great album. In my eyes GRODT isn't a classic but it's understandable if people do think it is, great album nonetheless.
Just gone through half of Cube's new album. Not liking what i'm hearing so far.
^Agree on Cube's album. I've only skimmed through it a few times so far. Production wise it's got too many southern beats and lyrically it's pretty disappointing. I mean:
<i>I got King Kong in my trunk
King Kong in my doors
My nuts play Ping Pong from the noise</i>
really?
Gangsta Rap Made Me Do It had me hoping for some classic Cube, but oh well.
Only heard a few songs from Cube's Raw Footage, and I thought the 'Gangsta Rap Made Me Do It' song was alright, maybe because I was busy at the time it sounded better than it actually was in the background. Shame, hopefully Cube can step it up for the rest of the album which I have yet to hear.
Anyone know when Bishop Lamont's album is dropping ? Eager to hear it definetely.
I think the Documentary is a classic in terms of production, and while I'm hardly a veteran when it comes to rap/hip-hop, I thought Dreams, Start From Scratch and Hate It Or Love It are some of the better tracks that I've heard.
Looking forward to Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II in October.

I know in My Life and LAX Files, he mentiones the Dodgers, Raiders and the Sox. Theres probably some more.
August 26, 2008. MediaTakeOut.com is sad to report to you that Andre Young Jr., the son to legendary rapper/producer Dr. Dre, has died. The 20 year old young man was found dead at his home in Woodland Hills on Saturday morning.
According to reports, Young returned home from a night of partying around 5:30 A.M.. And when his mother went to check on him around 10 A.M., she found him deceased.
The cause of death is still unknown, but police do not suspect any form of foul play.

Shame really, not particularly nice to see anyone die so young. Think we all know MediaTakeOut isn't a reliable source, but they won't lie about something so severe. R.I.P.
game name drops an awful lot and it gets very stupid sometimes. the album has its moments but so did doctors advocate. if LAX is his final album then its not up to scratch. the documentary is my top album by game and mainly because the songwriting was better. does anyone else think game and 50 will reunite in a couple of years to create some material?
hunter, bishop lamonts album should be availible today.
Bishop Lamont's album won't be out till around November/December (just checked). Can't wait for it, should be one of the best albums this year no doubt.

The stuff Im listening to now....MURS, Sixtoo, Fakts One, Mr.Lif, La Coka...but I still listen to all my old records, still loving KRS 'Return Of The Boom Bap'...it seems harder to have a bit of quality control these days, what with every rapper and there dog having a Myspace page but you can find a few diamonds in the rough now and again..Ive just got back into scratching after a few years hiatus but have got the passion back and am currently doing some chorus cuts (a la DJ Premier) for some people I know...anyway, I put a few links of me on the tables below, let me know what you guys think..nice one.

T.I. feat. Justin Timberlake - Dead & Gone ...just keeps getting catchier & catchier!
also I like Live Your Life & Swagga Like Us....heard them the other night at a club and it sounded class!
CANNOT wait until November 16th :D Kanye West returns to Glasgow for the 2nd leg of his Glow In The Dark Tour!! However, I don't expect it to be as good as last year (December 4th) because last time his mother had recently died and it was very emotional for him, he did a cover of Journey's; Don't Stop Believing and he done a freestyle 3rd verse to what is now the 'Grammy 08' version of Hey Mama! the freestyle he done was insane though!!
That aside, I'm not sure if his new album is gonna go down well, the first single 'Love Lockdown' uses the autotune effect (T-Pain) and his second single 'Heartbreak' will also be the same.... I hope he doesn't overdo it with the autotune, he's used it in a few songs now, his verse on Jeezy's 'Put On' and the remix of 'Lollipop' . I just don't really see his album 808's & Heartbreak being anywhere close to Graduation!

you are officially the luckiest guy I know right now!
I've always wanted to see Nas but I live in Scotland and I think the closest he's been is Manchester, England (it's not actually that far, but when he came I was to young to go by myself!)
Is there anyone here getting the Foreign Exchange album "Leave It All Behind"?
I pre-ordered the album and it should be coming to me on Monday; in a 2 disc pack, with the second containing the album instrumentals.

Got the album and sorry to say I was well dissapointed..Phonte & Pooh are on like 3 tracks..I think Darien Brockington is featured on most..its like another Nicolay solo LP and he has gone for the Neo soul market this time around..dont get me wrong, I like a few of the tracks and when he gets it right they kick ass but it gets a bit tired half way through the album and sounds like it needs a little bit of an adrenaline pump..you guys might like it but after listening to it a few times I need to put on the Reks tune "say goodnight" to give me an energy boost...gutted!

As I told you, S-Preme is at Lupe's
concert in Chicago right now, and after we found out
about the live CD/DVD set, some minutes ago,
Lupe just announced that his
"lupEND" album will be formed out of 3 discs !
He Said:
"It ain't gonna be one album,
it's gonna be 3 albums"
CRAZY !!! That's like at least 30 tracks, right ?
Update:
The 3 discs will be called :
Everywhere
Nowhere
Down Here
and together they'll form "lupEND".
Sounds like a cool concept !
The question that remains is, if it will be a package of 3 discs or if every disc will be released on it's own. Remember when Nelly released 2 albums at a time and together they formed "Sweat/Suit"? Maybe this will be a similar thing just with 3 CDs. I hope we'll get another update about that, soon.

I must offer my condolences as it yesterday in Finland it was brilliant in my opinion, Scratch&Supernatural, EPMD, De La, Pharcyde were all great and Nas did his thing with heart and all, most of his hits from Illmatic to Untitled were played. An odd thing was that there were plenty of free spaces, the credit crunch would be the only acceptable excuse for that?

Kanye West blew Glasgow away last night...incredible stuff
still kicking myself for not tagging along with my mates to go to the o2 gig
Gun_Runner
18-11-2008, 00:20
apparently the o2 show was his best, Estelle was there and he did a couple of extra songs...
strange thing happened when he done Love Lockdown last night...near the end of the song he just told the DJ to stop and start the beat again he didn't seem happy about something. Then I saw on Youtube at one of his shows he done the same thing, and when the DJ started again he still wasn't happy so he told him to stop then he walked off stage for about 45 seconds before coming on again... I don't know if it was just part of the show or whether he was genuinely pissed off about something.
The props & visuals at the show were something else! A dinosaur type thing came out to get him and there was this spaceship who he called 'Jane' he kept coming down and speaking during the show, very good stuff!
stop rubbing it in mate. all ive got is a few shabby videos that my mates recorded.

You might like it, I guess it's personal opinion, but, it just doesn't sound like something he'd produce. His previous albums have been great, but this one just doesn't live up to it.
So no sample heavy songs then?

nah not really.
I'd say it's still quite a good album, albeit a little short (12 tracks I think). Just don't expect to put it on and hear something like you did in his previous albums...
Anyone got Theatre of the Mind? If so, any good?
I like Kanye's new album...Its different to the typical Kanye...but its not gunna do him any favours staying the same is it....
Tunes like 'Heartless' and 'Robocop' are very good man
I'm not overly keen on Robocop to be honest, prefer songs like Bad News and Coldest Winter. Saying that, it's obvious that Heartless and Love Lockdown are the standout songs from the album.
Ya see, im not overly keen on Love Lockdown man...Theres just something aobut it that just makes me really think,
'man this song is whack, i ent listenin to it any longer'
Id even go as far to say its the worst song Kanye has ever released...
You can't be serious ? When the drums kick in it's epic, of course it's starting to get a bit overplayed which will ruin it eventually but I never thought I'd ever hear anyone say it's shite.
Love Heartless though, possibly my favourite song at the moment, just something about it, catchy as well.
I just theres something missing from it man...I relaly dont know what it is...
But i agree with heartless man, that tune is so catchy, its been in my head since i heard it man...Ill have to give the album a proper good listen soon, ive only heard the odd song off it...what other songs would you recommend??

I agree on those two being the standouts. Only had a few listens but the other tracks aren't really drawing me in to be honest. Definitely a chnage in style though so maybe it just takes some getting used to.

I'd recommend just listening to the whole album a few times over really, everyone likes different songs, us for example with Love Lockdown. I'm enjoying songs like Paranoid, Heartless, Amazing, Coldest Winter, Bad News and even the Pinocchio Story Freestyle which is the hidden track. The great thing about the album is that it has an identity, it all fits into place nicely. The theme is solid throughout and he doesn't really stray off this heartbroken theme much during the album, so there isn't really a sense of random songs and songs that are out of place. Really enjoying the album at the moment.

Im currently listening to Get Up by 50 Cent, it's from his new album Before I Self Destruct, which is due out February 3, 2009, and i must say i am amazed.
50 Cent has been shit for a while now, Get Rich or Die Tryin' was amazing, The Massacre was ok but Curtis was awful and this new songs is actually quite decent, if the rest of the album is like that he could be back to his Get Rich or Die Tryin' best.
When i say Get Rich or Die Tryin' i mean the original album, not the shitty film or soundtrack.
Maybe pushing the boat there mate, he released Get Up about a month ago and it's only just started blowing up in the US. It's a good club song, but not much more in fairness, he will never be able to touch his old self of the Power Of The Dollar/GRODT days, he can only try and obviously fall short.
The market is fading for rehashed rap songs, and to be honest, 50 Cent is becoming played out as he seems to just constantly rehash everything with a slightly modern vibe to it. I don't mind Get Up, but in terms of the rest of the album, I really can't see it being any good.
50 cent was played out before he even started in my opinion, ive never liked him

Woah woah woah! Hold your horses, some of 50's earlier material really was great. Maybe it wasn't lyrically as good as Common's best work, but in terms of Gangsta Rap, 50 released some great songs. I can quite easily name a few just off the top of my head, not to mention that GRODT is a solid album.
Life's On The Line
Ghetto Qua'ran
U Not Like Me
50 Bars
Many Men
Don't Push Me
Outta Control (original)

All solid tracks, none of them amazing but my comment still stands - I meant more in the terms of projects though anyway. And saying 50 isn't as lyrically good as Common goes completely without saying; he's got a few good tracks of course and can be generally listenable but that's as good as it gets. Put it this way, I wouldn't associate 'amazing' with 50 Cent at all.
Diff. strokes for diff. folks I guess.

After months of being tightlipped about his highly anticipated Relapse album, Eminem recently revealed some details about his long awaited opus.
Last month, Swizz Beatz claimed that he had produced 5 songs on the Relapse album. One of the songs that Swizz said he had produced was a sequel to Eminem's 2000 hit "Stan".
"Stan", which was featured on Eminem’s second album The Marshall Mathers LP, told the story of a fan obsessed with the rapper who commits suicide.
In a recent interview with Billboard, Eminem shot down Swizz's claims and stressed that he hasn't collaborated with the famed producer.
"There isn't a 'Stan 2,' and there won't be," Eminem said. "Stan drove his car off a bridge and I'm not writing a song as Stan's ghost. That would just be really corny."
One producer that Eminem is definitely working with is Dr. Dre. Em divulged that Dre's platinum touch will be all over his eagerly awaited album.
"Me and Dre are back in the lab like the old days, man," Eminem explained. "Just him banging away on tracks and me getting that little spark that makes me write to it. I don't have chemistry like that with anyone else as far as producers go -- not even close. Dre will end up producing the majority of the tracks on Relapse.' We are up to our old mischievous ways ... let's just leave it at that."
Eminem also spoke on a song from Relapse that was leaked last week. The song, which was titled "Number One" by various mixtape DJ's, featured Eminem rapping as Dr. Dre.[Listen to 'Number One']
According to Eminem, the leaked song was far from complete and it's real title is "Crack a Bottle".
The Detroit rapper revealed that he was doing guide vocals for Dre and the song fell into the wrong hands. Despite the leak, the song will still be appearing on Relapse.
"It wasn't close to finished. [It was] me doing guide vocals for Dre as a suggestion of how he could lay his verses down," Eminem said. "It's like someone catches you peeping in your window before you got the Spider Man costume all zipped up! Nobody is supposed to see that. We are gonna finish it up though and get it out there how it's supposed to be."
Eminem expects to have Relapse in stores next spring. He also revealed 50 Cent will be releasing Before I Self Destruct in February.
Really wanted a Stan II. Still gonna be a good album though.

haha to be honest, it'll probs be more like a concert than a gig....
But i hope you enjoy it, and we shall be expecting a full analysis when your next online :D
Just got back, found out quite a few of my friends were there as well, one of which was on the stage since Game asked everyone at the front wearing red to get on the stage (along with lasses).
Waited about 2 hours for Game's set, was getting annoyed, purely because the floor was sticky and my shoes kept getting stuck to the ground. A few fights nearly broke out, one of which was between me and my friends and this guy and his mate, they were just obviously too drunk and hadn't fucked in a while as they were crazily aggressive. I walked past him whilst getting my phone out my pocket and he thought I was trying to grab his balls or something stupid. :faceplm:
Was awesome when Game came out though, he didn't really need to pause for breath much which meant his songs flowed well, which was quality. It was hilarious when he pulled this little kid on stage, he put all the BWS chains on him, was seriously weighing him down. :chanlaugh: Game wanted him to rap Dope Boys for us all, but he was too scared and almost started crying, Game opted more to laugh at him as opposed to comfort him. :chanlaugh: He stayed on stage though and kept the chains around his neck for a while, and got a good picture with Game, so I bet it was a great experience for him.
I'll type up more later when I can be arsed, about what songs he played etc.
Oh, I also shook hands with Clyde Carson, a supporting artist from BWS.
http://aintyourdogmasterp.unblog.fr/files/2008/07/ldf26389336617a14b2480135683a8 f751.png
My legs are still aching from standing so much, with a lot of it being on my tip toes since there was quite a few 6foot+ guys knocking about. I woke up this morning with cramp in my right calf, and it wouldn't go away, I honestly felt like crying it was that painful. It finally went away after about a minute and a half, then I managed to get to sleep for 30 mins, then I caught a cramp in my left calf this time. :chanlaugh: If I had a gun next to me, I'd have probably killed myself.
Was a quality night though, there was quite a few of my friends there that I didn't know were going, one of which ended up on the stage with Game and BWS. The supporting artists were good, especially Clyde Carson who had the most time on the stage out of the supporting BWS artists. However because these were just supporting artists, the crowd didn't really know the songs and the atmosphere seemed quite dim, but this was more due to the fact we were just anticipating The Game. Everyone was in the building at about 7:30 but they kept us poised and waiting, as Game didn't hit the stage till just before 9:30. When he did though, the roof went off and I was glad I was in the standing area, everyone just started bouncing.
I was mainly expecting songs from LAX but he basically played all his best work which was quality:
Westside Story
Hate It Or Love It,
How We Do,
Put You On The Game
Higher (which got a great reception, the production on that song is immense :w00t)
Other songs he done that I can remember anyway were:
One Blood,
Let's Ride,
Wouldn't Get Far,
Ol' English,
California Vacation,
LAX Files,
My Life,
Money,
Cali Sunshine,
Game's Pain,
Dope Boys
He also done a few other songs which escape me at the moment, he performed some of the above songs a few times which was great, especially Dope Boys which he done 2-3 times as it really got the crowd hyped with the heavy drums and rock feel. He also partially done Jump Around by Cypress Hill and couple of other random tracks to pay homage as it were to classic songs, a nice touch to be honest.
I really hope he comes back to the UK though, Game's performance was ridiculously solid, much better than I expected which feels superb to say. I just wish my phone was better as the videos I took with my camera are very poor quality, there's already quite a few videos up mind on YouTube so that's a relief. I was hoping to buy a shirt from the merchandise stand to add a little to the experience, but I wasn't prepared to pay £20 for a shirt.
The night was wild though, alcohol was being thrown everywhere, crowd bouncing, was overall a quality experience.
Sorry if it's a little long, but I tried to keep it as brief as possible, I really did, I think I've even probably missed out a few parts too. Woop woop!
Arr that sounds awesome man....
screw buying shirts, theyre always expensive lol
What did he open with man? was it a massive massive tune??
He started with Dope Boys, a hard rock inspired song to get the crowd pumping I guess. Great song mind, completely different to the usual Game songs which is what makes it a standout track.

fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck!!!! thats so sick....so jealous
Awesome mate, glad you enjoyed it :)
Was just listening through "The Score" album again from The Fugees and recognised the beat from the song Zealot. I'm positive the beat has been used since The Score came out by another artist, but I can't put my finger on who, or the name of the song, I can remember it though because I think it was a good song.
Hmm...
Got me thinking now Hunter. What part of the beat though? That little repeating vocal part or the main beat?
The repetitive vocal part that starts at the very begininning and lasts throughout, the main beat doesn't kick in till about 30 seconds. As I say, it's the main repetitive bit, 'tis very memorable and it was definetely used in another song over the last few years but it's killing me not knowing.
Teen rapper Soulja Boy may have been robbed at gunpoint earlier this week at his home in Atlanta. However, reports are still unconfirmed.
Via text messages on the rapper's official Twitter page, he left an ATL night club "zooted" at around 11:30 p.m. on Monday (December 29). Then hours later, the next day, two more texts popped up, stating robbers kicked in his door, and almost took his life.
"Thanking God for my life," Soulja Boy's Twitter message read. "Six n****z kicked in my door and tried to kill me."
"Glad we alive, they had AKs and pistols and tried to kidnap my boy Jbar," another message read later that afternoon.
Later Tuesday evening (December 30), the messages mysteriously disappeared, and the teen rapper hasn't addressed the alleged attack as of press time.
Ever since the shocking messages, the rumor has popped up on several gossip sites. Then on New Year's Eve, two masked men posted a viral video (via Bossip), claiming responsibility for the crime. However, the men claimed that they were the only two robbers and not six, as Soulja Boy originally said. They also said that only one pistol was used, and not AK-47s.
In the video, the two men boast of monitoring the young rapper's movements, attending his album release party, and then following him by to his home.
While the video was first met with skepticism by online fans, a rep for Soulja Boy confirmed to AllHipHop that an incident did take place. However, no further information was released, other than stating that the crime is "a serious situation."
:lmao:
"Thanking God for my life," Soulja Boy's Twitter message read. "Six n****z kicked in my door and tried to kill me."
LMAO
Fucking great stuff
That's karma for infecting the music we love. And freestyleh. Where is that guy anyway?
haha yeah, He'll cry when he reads this...
He really has infected it aswell, he's gotta be the worst 'Hip-hop' artist since vanilla ice :D
Cant even use Hip hop and artist in the same sentence with him. Lets leave it as him being a leech.

just came back from a Lupe Fiasco Gig. Pics will be up shortly guys.
I was fairly close to the Front and got a few sick shots of the chi-town MC. Brilliant concert and the lass in front of me as even lucky to be sung at by Lupe as they exchange points and what not during Sunshine, love being 5'11".

nope, he had a tight as 6 piece band with his brother on keyboard/piano. It sounds better when its not solely from a DJ. Real tight aswell, the guitarist did Jill Scott's bit on daydream and he did not disappoint he belted those notes!
20. Chamillionaire - 'Venom'
19. Slim Thug - 'Boss of All Bosses'
18. Joe Budden - 'Padded Room'
17. Jadakiss - 'The Last Kiss'
16. Busta Rhymes - 'Back on My B.S.'
15. Saigon - 'The Greatest Story Never Told'
14. Wale - TBA
13. 50 Cent - 'Before I Self Destruct'
12. Lil Wayne - 'Tha Carter IV'/'I Can't Feel My Face'
11. Big Boi - 'Sir Luscious Left Foot'
10. Clipse - 'Till the Casket Drops'
9. Raekwon - 'Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II'
8. Rakim - 'The 7th Seal'
7. Mos Def - 'The Ecstatic'
6. Kanye West - 'Good Ass Job'
5. OutKast - TBA
OutKast's critically acclaimed double album Speakerboxxx/The Love Below was originally intended as two separate LPs. Apparently, packaging them jointly wasn't a bad idea, as that set went on to sell over 10 million units. There's no arguing that Big Boi and 3000 have been contemplating their respective solo albums for a long time. Thankfully, the two have confirmed that they're working on their respective solo projects, after which they'll reunite for another OutKast album.
4. Lupe Fiasco - 'LupEND'
How do you go out with a big bang on your final album? If you're Lupe Fiasco, you make it three discs long. Lupe's third album, LUPEND, is further divided into three sections: Everywhere, Nowhere, and Down Here, respectively.
Lupe is a talented MC, and Food & Liquor and The Cool deserve to be mentioned among the best hip-hop music of this decade. However, the cynical bastard in me is skeptical about a 3-disc rap album. Hip-hop double albums have been disappointing in the past, with a couple of exceptions. So, imagine how much of an uphill task he has created for himself. I'll be more than happy to eat my words if he delivers 100% pure quality on every disc, every verse, every track, every beat on L-U-P-END.
3. Jay-z - 'The Blueprint 3'
Ask any Jay-Z fan and they'll tell you that his 2001 CD, The Blueprint, remains one of his best albums ever. Jay has been trying to recreate the brilliance of that album ever since. The first Blueprint follow-up, 2002's Blueprint 2: The Gift and The Curse, marked a low point in Jay-Z's catalog, as the album suffered from excessive filler material and forced collaborations. Cross your fingers and hope for Jay to recapture the magic on Blueprint 3.
2. Dr. Dre - 'Detox'
Dr. Dre swears that this is the year Detox will finally see the light of day. File this one under I'll Believe It When I See It.
1. Eminem - 'The Relapse'
Any hip-hop fan who isn't looking forward to Eminem's new album either needs to check his pulse or find a new hobby. Or both. A few missteps here and there notwithstanding, Em is still one of the nastiest MCs of our time. His fifth major album, The Relapse, is undoubtedly the most eagerly awaited rap project of 2009, rivaled only by Dr. Dre's Detox. Speaking of Dre, word on the street is that he's manning the boards on The Relapse. This is a welcome development because Eminem is a better rapper than he is a producer. It's a good idea to let Dre work the knob so that Slim Shady can focus on his rhymes. "Crack A Bottle," a mid-tempo collaboration with Dre and 50 Cent, is expected to be the first single from Relapse.
Should be a good year ahead.

cant wait til HOVA's new record drops.
Definately man, I wonder how he'll improve on the wonderous album that was the Blueprint 2 !??!?!
By not releasing it as a two part thats how.
Detox will probably be delayed another year, i've given up on the album.
The ones i'm most looking forward to are, Venom, The Relapse and Good Ass Job.

Someone rep Hammer for me, that video was quite excellent. Keyboards, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, beat machine, the guy has all the necessary tools really to make some good quality music. Wonder if he's sent off any demos of this off to Kanye, seems quite unique.

Yeah you're allowed to as long as it isn't stupidly inappropriate I imagine. Just copy and paste the link that says "embed" to the right of the video and paste it into one of your messages, you can add a fancy colour and border to it once you click embed too.
I anticipate this video greatly now.

I seen these guys do this set live at the DMC's...this is a video of the 6 minutes they did...
I have been to see loads of scratch DJ's over the years and I love the technical side of the artform (I do it myself...check my own vids on youtube...search for DJ Alkemy) but sometimes when Im in a club I wanna cut the rug and not listen to scratch routines all night...I think this is the benchmark for any DJ group...funky, the timing is immaculate and its humerous too....just listen to the whole 6 minutes without tapping your foot....let me know what you think guys...nice one.

argh! i didnt want to know that. Best stick to my normal drum set.
Which leads me to my next question...do you guys like it when hip hop acts have a band behind them oppose to just the DJ?
I suppose its an alternative to what we would normally see. Ive seen Hova do it a few times. I know sometimes when he performs 99 Problems he uses the Back In Black rift. Kanye did that Late Orchestration in London with an orchestra so its nice to hear.
It varies for me, some bands work well with live music, rather than a DJ, if you know what i mean lol
Like some peoples music can give a lot to a live drummer, because they can improvise a lot...You'll know what I mean if you listen to Jayz perform Encore....The drummers go crazy man
Plus they'll usually have absolutely huge drum kits man
AgentZero
22-01-2009, 22:27
true that! IMO sound quality is better with a band. It may not be perfect but it works. Some rap acts wouldnt be able to fully utilise the band aswell. I dont imagine Dr Dre to front up with a 6 piece.
Yeah man, acts like the neptunes work really well with a band, because well, they are a band....but I cant imagine them with a standalone DJ
I'd love to see Soulja boy perform with a live band haha
Tranvis barker on drums :ninja:
Why didnt Soulja Boy just become a dancer. He seems alrite at that. Rapping, nah not so much.

Which leads me to my next question...do you guys like it when hip hop acts have a band behind them oppose to just the DJ?
I think we need that in Hip-Hop these days..you need a bit of presence on stage...back in the day it was just "two turntables and a microphone" but if you spend 25 quid on a ticket I think you deserve the whole live experience (unless you are Dilated Peoples, who rock places with just them and Babu the DJ)...The Roots have been playing with a full band for years & years now...even acts like Fingathing (a DJ and double bass player) been using more instruments in there shows. If ya gonna go to a 50 Cent gig then dont expect it (he sucks anyway) but I suppose it depends on who you go and see..maybe there music wouldnt suit a live band..like if I went to see Non-Phixion and they had guitarist and pianist there i would be laughing my butt off but maybe in a say,m Common gig, it would suit his music really well.
Yeah true say, but to be honest theres nothing like seeing a live DJ and an MC rocking a crowd of hundreds....
Run DMC style haha
Hunter, heres a nice read.
During the recording of the album, Lupe Fiasco's father died,[1] his good friend Stack Bundles died, and his business partner and mentor—Charles "Chilly" Patton—was sentenced to 44 years in prison.[2] When asked about the album's dark side, Lupe Fiasco replied:
Oh yeah. A lot of loss. I lost my father, I lost my business partner to prison, and I lost some friends. It was a very dark period. It still is in some aspects, but you know, I'm kind of coming out of it. But especially during the time that the album was being cooked, in my head it was a very dark kind of period.[1]
Lupe Fiasco's the Cool expands on the story Lupe told on the track, "The Cool", from his debut album. Fiasco introduces the characters the Streets and the Game.[3] The album tells the story of the little boy from "He Say, She Say" who grew up without a father, and the people that step in to raise him are the Streets and the Game.[4] Speaking on the concept Lupe said:
I expand on the story, I introduce two other characters, the Game and the Streets. The Streets is a female. She's like the action personification of the streets, the street life, the call of the streets. The Game is the same way. The Game is the personification of the game. The pimp's game, the hustler's game, the con man's game, whatever. Then they've got supernatural characteristics. Like the Cool, his right hand is rotted away. The only thing that rotted away was his right hand. It represents the rotting away of his righteousness, of his good. And the Streets and the Cool kind of have a love affair going on. So she's represented by this locket. And the locket has a key and it's on fire. And as a gift to the Cool on his rise to fame, she gave him the key. And the key represents the key to the Streets. So she wears a locket around her neck at all times. And the way the story goes, she has given that key to tons of people throughout time. Al Capone, Alexander the Great, whatever. She's giving them the key to the Streets. Fame and fortune — but also the prices. The Game, he's represented by a stripped-down skull, a skull with dice in his eyes and smoke coming out of his mouth. The billowing smoke is actually crack smoke. It's not a full concept album; it's more spread over like five [tracks], really abstractly.[5]
Lupe also stated that there are plans to spin The Cool into a horror-themed radio program, and a comic book.
Thanks mate, was indeed a decent read. I was actually listening to Food & Liquor this morning during my 30 minute walk into the Newcastle centre nd 30 minute walk back, was even surprised at how good it was. Completely forgot about how amazing the album is, I'd even put it up there as near perfect. Will give it another listen later before stating whether I think I could class it as ultimately a classic.
EDIT: On Sky Anytime, there is a program on MTV and MTVHD called Jay-Z: Storytellers. It's epic stuff, basically him doing a small concert with a live band to showcase his American Gangster album and explain the concept and details of the album. Definetely worth a watch, I've saved it onto the Sky+ box, shall be keeping it too, will watch it again in the future.

Exactly, no matter how good the songs are, they'll be recycled.
I'm sure Lupe Fiasco wouldn't rip his fans off like that though, I can imagine he has something special up his sleeve.
On the talk of Lupe Fiasco and especially his LupE.N.D. album, well, it has been cancelled indefinetely it seems. Take a look at this guys:
You might be thinking that Lupe is playing us once again, just like he's been doing with Japanese Cartoon, but I'm confident that this is straight legit information coming from the man himself. Early yesterday morning, Lupe Fiasco posted an announcement on the FNF Army message board regarding the future of his highly anticipated, three-disc final album titled LupE.N.D. Brace yourselves for what you're about to read after the jump.
Due to circumstances beyond my control...the album roll out has changed radically...LUPE.N.D. has been postponed indefinitely!!!
As a matter of fact consider it cancelled until further notice!!!
Sorry Guys & Gals!!!!...the rumor mill and bitch ass cowards are going to have a field day with this one!!!...I'll just keep quiet about the actual reasoning so everybody can put their very special two cents in...
OK..so what now???
Actually an album is still coming in June...Thats Right!!!...Drum Roll Please...
"THE GREAT AMERICAN RAP ALBUM"
Yeah thats the new title...
want the tracklist?

See ya'll in June and again in December and again next June...
LupE.N.D. right after that...when the liberation comes!!!...
also JAPANESE CARTOON "IN THE JAWS OF THE LORDS OF DEATH" drops the same day as "THE GREAT AMERICAN RAP ALBUM"...Matthew Santos this spring...oh yeah...FNF UP!!!
I hate the music business...but I love music...Grammy's Here We Come!!!
So there you have it. LupE.N.D. out, The Great American Rap Album in. In reality, Lupe is just expanding the release of his three-disc album idea over a six month period from June '09 to June '10, and who knows if LupE.N.D. is coming after that. I'm just stoked so see Lupe throwing away his retirement plans for more classic hip-hop that we can appreciate for the rest of our lives. No disposable garbage when it comes to 1st & 15th Entertainment. Now for that C.R.S. project...
Click Here (http://www.weyowzers.com/2009/01/lupe-fiasco-not-retiring-after-all.html)
Not sure what to think exactly, but if it can prolong his retirement then I don't mind one bit. Plus, the thought of 3 albums from Lupe in the space of a year or so is already making me wet. Word.
