What do you lot think about the new T.I. song called "bring 'em out", the chorus samples jay-z voice in it.
Also i think that nelly is not a hip/hop artist i think he is a pop artist, i have never in my life liked one of nelly's songs and also he has gone too far with his last single with that country man  it's a joke his making a joke of the hip/hop game  I just had to get that off my chest.

hip hop as a whole is in shambles and never will go back to the good days.

Hip-Hop is f'd up at the moment. Chingy and Nelly are not Rap artists, they only get hot beats with whack lyrics, anyone can be succesful using that formula.
The last good year of Hip Hop was 1996, then it all starting going downhill, though 2000 was before it hit rock bottom. Now all you see is teenage girls dancing to beats, and talentless artists making it. Rap is entirely commercial now.
Entirely commercial NOW? It's always been that way.
Did you know that The Sugar Hill Gang, who recorded the first successfull rap record ("Rapper's Delight"), was assembled in a recording studio? They'd never played any parties, nobody had ever heard of them, but they were a hit and representing for the rest of hip-hop (who'd never heard of them). They were a BOY BAND.
Sometimes I wonder how much of it was NOT "commercial" and/or pandering to the lowest common denominator back then. Was it just because we were younger and didn't see it?
Oh well, for every Sugar Hill Gang, there's a Grandmaster Caz.
Although, I still most definitely rock the fuck out when that "hippy-to-the-hip-hip-hop" drops. Don't get it twisted.
If you go to a proper hip/hop party, i mean 100% pure hip/hop you wouldn't be hearing no chingy, nelly, murphy lee or any of that shit.
Hip/hop need to go back to the days where it represents black people well, where it told stories and gave you information in the song that you wouldn't normaly get.
Now yeah it is all about bling bling, light skinned woman, money, cars and being gangsta. Like jay-z said it is all wwf.

hip hop has lost its essence and is now total garbage, when i used to listen to westwppd there were a few gems (big, nas, jay, fugees) that came through, now when i listen it is utter crap, with artists who don't give a shit about music and hip hop. the reason for this i think is the fact that the music industry has taken a battering due to piracy and downloading therefore execs r less likely to take chances thus diluting hip hop music to the joke it is now
They don't want a concious artist speeaking the truth in Hip/Hop like they do reggae music (number one black liberation music) so they just make crap radio records.
There quite some sensible artist like talib, nas, common, dead prez and a few more.
Has anybody here bought the cam'ron album "purple haze", the album is alright give it a 6/10 because the guy has only stlyle and some of the beats to the album dersevered to be given to nas where he'll rap serious on it. Sometimes when i listen to cam'ron i don't really take him serious.
When all these rap artists started to make new enemies. this was a new trend which
now became common. And I think the rap artist thought now that if they have other rap enemies, they are gangsta. This influces any kind of person to listen to rap music with no meaning and the only reason they are listening to it is look and act gangsta. That is load of crap. There not even being there real selves. And this is the same with rappers.
Just get a load of poeple dancing with some randomn beats the same lyrics five times in a row and a fight happening and that is your rap video. Nelly is just pop and Chingy is a joke. And 50 pence is a cry baby. The songs he makes and all the rest of his crew always has a gunshot or glass smashing with loads of swearing which usually spoils the song. You should never get hime to do your remixs. Dont you think because of 50 cent people like him are portrayed differently

the only cam album i own is confessions of fire which is ok, but he is wack now :D , i agree reggae is free music but remember that it is becoming more commercial these days.

I agree that 50 is week lyrically, the only reason he sells records is his imagery of the ultimate black geurilla gangster. I believe the only way to save hip hop is taking the lead of Talib Kwalli and making concious records and pushing them into the mainstream, like the fugees did a decade ago

there r a few good uk artists, i listen to a couple of the underground stations in my area. i still think that the music is in its baby stage because some of it sounds a bit ammature but thats because ther isn't much support for our artists from the bigger record labels
Entirely commercial NOW? It's always been that way.
Exactly, people are making a crisis out of what has always been around. Commercial rap. MC Hammer anybody ?
As for someone saying hip-hop died in 1996 ? Explain please. If this is due to the death of 2pac, then that comment is very ignorant. No genre revolves around one artist.
And come on now, none of us in this thread are even near our 30's. We still have alot of old school hip hop to listen to. I have gone back to Eric B & Rakim - Follow The Leader, EPMD - Strictly Business etc. Some people haven't even come across those 2 quality albums and have the cheek to say hiphop is dead.
To me it isn't and probably will never be. It'll just be driven to underground status, which is what it started out as.
i cant stand people like jay z,p diddy, nelly,r kelly ect i fucking hate all there shit, the game is a breath of fresh air
i agree a lot of the hip-hop thesedays is nout on the old skool stuff..i have went back to listen to Eazy and NWA..i also love listenen to Dre and Snoop when they were on Death Row.
but as Gunplay said its never gonna die and in my opinion after another year or two of commericial hip-hop the hip-hop scene will pick up again.

I see you didn't see Mos Def's latest video :D
only messing, thats a one off. But the reason I mentioned it about Game is cos people would expect artists like him (mainstream, commerical type) to rap about women all the time, but he doesn't.
I like Common, Mos Def and Talib Kweli BTW.
Nas is better than them IMO though.

''This Can't Be Life'' is about 5 years old, but I think you already knew that. Beanie Sigel has been less productive these days, maybe because he's incarcerated. Anyway he was ''rippin it up'' a few years back.

Sure have. Quite a while ago, I like that track. Even though I can just about understand what Peedi Crakk is saying, he's still one of my favourite rappers nowadays.
Gunplay there was this pirate radio station over here in the south that had the latest show of kay slay's drama hour on hot 97 over in new york every thursday at 12am to 2am. I don't exactly know if it was latest but that had juelez satana on the show, he was saying he had a new album coming out called "whats the game been missing" and a mixtape called "more crack". Also they were playing freestlyes by papoose, jr writer, play asia and some others. Also they had exclusive tracks from styles p's new album called "i'm black" and he was soundind very wise on that record. There was also had another guest in there called mano, he sounds like shit rapper wasn't really feeling him. I going to listen agin next sunday if they do this kay slay show recording and see if it is consitently being because you know how pirate radio is  and also find it out the frequency today and see if you could get it there over in east.

More of an R'n'B artist, but the news is worth a mention.
R&B singer Houston has reportedly attempted suicide by gouging out his eye while on tour in London.
According to reports, Houston tried to jump off a balcony, but was stopped by his security detail.
After he was prevented from leaping, he then was locked in a bathroom, where he gouged out one of his eyes.
Last year, the Hip-Hop oriented singer scored a major hit in "I Like That" with Nate Dogg and Chingy.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with Houston during this tragic time," Capitol Records said in a statement.
Earlier this month, Houston was nominated for "Best New R&B Artist" by the 2004 T M H Honors. Winners were supposed to be announced on Jan. 31, but results have not been returned

50 Cent to appear on The Simpsons
50 Cent is to guest on The Simpsons in an episode called Pranksta Rap.
According to MTV in the episode Bart sneaks out of the house to attend a 50 concert and then fakes his own kidnapping to avoid being grounded.
The rapper's appearance on the show will air in the US on Fox TV on February 13.
I guess that he will be the first ever Gangsta to appear on the cartoon

Games new album is top, As i am only a youngster, i wasnt old enough to walk in the prime days of hip-hop. But as it goes now i think that hip-hop and rap are just becoming twined together with r&b and pop. I dont no if im speaking for myself here but i like to listen to rap with a decent rythem and some wicked lyrics that acctually mean something, Ive also had enough of this murder inc. aftermath thing. Cant they just both shut the hell up! especially ja rule, moaning little pill head!
I wonder what on earth made him do that?
I thought things were going well for him.
He was on a radio station here a couple of days ago. I could tell he wasn't normal by the interview. He seemed weird, sounding like he was incredibly drunk.
He's been under psychiatric care though, for a while, so this isn't as surprising as we should think.
Seriously, gouging your eye out  !
Edit: Just seen the picture after the incident. I'm going to vomit now. Bye

50 Cent: Bulletproof
Last year, 50 Cent rolled the dice, passing on a lead voice acting role in the hit, "GTA: San Andreas," opting to make his own game instead. "I'm out to destroy the competition and my video game is no different," he crowed. "I plan to shake up the video game world like I did the rap world."
“50 Cent: Bulletproof" follows the rapper through the NYC criminal underworld to uncover an ugly, international conspiracy. 50 Cent will contribute music for the game including freestyle rhymes that players mix in the game's music lab. Expect more screens, video and info on MTV.com's GAMES area launching this spring.
http://www.mtv.com/games/video_games/peep_show/50_cent_bulletproof/
There's a short video trailer there aswell. The graphics are looking good. It will probably turn out to be shit, but I like the sound of the 'music lab'. Hopefully on the xbox version you can save any song you have to it, to be played in the background.
Yeah that sounds good......but the gameplay will probably be crap.
Ja Rule pleads guilty to Toronto assault
Rapper Ja Rule walked away with a $1,500 fine Monday for punching someone in the face at a downtown nightclub last year.
The performer, whose real name is Jeffrey Atkins, pleaded guilty to assault for an incident that took place last June. He initially faced the more severe charge of assault causing bodily harm, which could have resulted in jail time. "Hopefully this was a one-time outburst," Justice W.P. Bassel told Atkins.
"You'll pay a price for this . . . by the publicity that will flow out of this."
The courtroom was packed with teenagers anxious to see Atkins, who was dressed formally in a black shirt and dress pants.
The only words he spoke inside the courtroom were "yes sir" to the judge.
The New York native, known for hits like Holla, Holla, has been headlining the Roc Tha Block Tour.
In recent years, much of the publicity surrounding Atkins, 29, has stemmed from a feud with fellow rapper 50 Cent.
Bit of news there $1,500 lol
Does anybody know who Maino is.
Bit of news there $1,500 lol
Haha, the judge apparently doesn't know that if a rapper beats someone up, it's not bad publicity.

I dont think the Hip Hop Empire has collapsed. It is just going through a reformation. It might not appeal to many listeners today as it did in the early 90's or so but I still feel that there is pride among hip hop artists. Has anyone here heard of Immortal Technique? He is from New York and he actually has something to say that people would listen to.

Man when i heard that i just kept rewinding it........the way he raps.......he like has this brilliant style and charisma......and when he spits it's like he doesn't put any effort init.......him and nas are a dying breed of classic rappers. Personaly i think Jay-Z is the best rapper.....the most consistent rapper, with the sick flow.

You saying my name to entertain your crew
I don't play no games, when shots exchange you're through
Fresh off probation I gotta charge to throw away
My lawyer say for eighty large it'll go away
And that ain't no money to Jay
So you could get it broad day on broadway while TRL's taping

Quit playing them childish games with grown men

He was taking a couple of warning shots at The Game on that freestyle. I know what you mean by the way he doesn't seem to put much effort, it's like he's not even trying at all. Great rapper, not better than Nas though.

Aye, I and Jonny heard that a while back. Greatness.
Why didn't rakim and dr. dre get along.......some explain to me.
Also Gunplay have you got the new game mixtape.......the new DJ catch 22 mixtape and also the the papoose mixtape?
Rakim - Me and Dre man we decided to cut it short man. We had creative differences. Basically I wanted to do what I felt the world wanted me to do. My man Doc (Dr. Dre) wanted me to bring the guns back out, simple as that and I respect that 'cause that's the way he gets down but I don't think the world wanted that from Ra at this time. So I decided to come back to the East Coast and get it poppin' back off man.
Rakim -after a while I felt that way I wanted to do things, he definitely wanted to do some things different and my thing was, I don't like to quit on nothing. Once you're in the ballpark, lets straight ball. So you know we was trying to make it work and my problem was trying to please both sides of the fence and you can't do that. So at the end of the day, Dre respected me for it but you know I had to stick to my guns and you know keep that integrity up as far as what I do and stay focused to what I do cause I think that's what people respect me for till this day. You know just stickin' to my guns and never changin' and always going my own direction. I never did what everybody else is doing at the time. I always try to go left if they going right or talk black if they talkin' blue.
Rapper Nelly's Sister Dies of Leukemia
Jacqueline "Jackie" Donahue, a sister of Grammy-winning rapper Nelly, died Thursday at a St. Louis hospital after a long battle with leukemia, the artist's publicist said.
Donahue had been diagnosed with leukemia on March 29, 2001. The cancer was in remission for nearly two years before she suffered a relapse, prompting Nelly to arrange a number of bone marrow drives. A match was never found.
Publicist Jane Higgins said Nelly and Donahue, who had the same father, were very close as they grew older. Donahue, a 31-year-old mother of two, worked as Nelly's stylist until her illness forced her to leave that position.
In March 2003, Nelly and Donahue formed a campaign called "Jes Us 4 Jackie" to find donors for Donahue and others, and to raise awareness about bone marrow donations.
Donahue's family said in a statement they were "deeply saddened" by her death and offered their thanks for those who had supported her and the bone marrow drives.
"We are very proud of her efforts to educate and raise awareness about the disease and the need for African-Americans to join the National Donor Registry," the family said.
"She will always be remembered for her loving spirit, energy and unshakable faith."
The 30-year-old rapper said through Universal Records that several dates on his tour had been postponed.

Yes Kanye West is regarded as hiphop. He's a breath of fresh air infact, great producer. The College Dropout is arguably the best album of last year.
baby bash 'suga suga' yea i heard that nothing special really.Kanye west anyone know when he releasing new album?.
Anyone hear this from nas: regarding 50.
To sum it all up, 50 is still a new artist," he continued. "I would say he's got a good five to six more albums before I can really respond to him. With my other battles, it was different. This is not really my thing right here. I would say he would needs about five to six more albums."
When asked about being called out in "Piggy Bank," the rap veteran didn't seemed too fired up. He simply charges it to the game.
"It's reality, being put in a big publicity stunt," he said. "My name being in stuff like that is not out of the norm — it's just hip-hop music. You have moments where you'll be like 'Ah, this is not cool. Then you have moments when you're like 'I think this is cool. It keeps people listening.' So either way, it's all good.
"Why is it always Nas that people wanna go after?" he considered. "I think something about me intrigues a lot of artists. I'm not so crazy with media. I'm not so out there. Still, I care just the same as somebody who tours all year, who has 50, 60 videos a year," he joked. "I care about my music and I care about the game just the same. I think people are just curious."

ppl go after nas because of the lack of respect within this hip hop generation. Nas rarely comes back at ppl if he gets dissed because its like yourslef gettin dissed by 8 year old in the streets. So dissin nas is a way to get their name out their. Plus ppl don't rate nas as highly because of his albums have never come close to illmatic. But you can say bout Jay-z and reasonable doubt. Plus nas has never rly changed his style to sell records so other artist see him as a flop or a failure which leads to the title has been.
50 is a trouble maker if you actually look at 50 hes doin excatly what eminem did to sell records diss famous ppl, tho em did this on a lower scale. 50 has already been beaten everyones jus waiting for the nas did to bury his hip hop career n turn him offically into pop.
I really think Nas has had it harsh. People expected him to surpass Illmatic which is the best hiphop album ever. It's damn near impossible to better that album. He even says himself on Stillmatic:
''They thought I'd make another "Illmatic"
But it's always forward I'm movin
Never backwards stupid here's another classic''
As for Jay-Z he did surpass Reasonable Doubt, with Blueprint 1. But none of his albums have ever came close to Illmatic, so Nas is better than him.
As for Nas being disrespected. I don't think so. He is still looked as one of the best rappers alive. Illmatic was something magical. He shouldn't worry about 50 Cent, as he is known for dissin everybody for hype.

Nas is quite a hypocrite though. I wouldn't be surprised if he eventually did make a track that disses 50.
I feel Nas has pretty much lost it. He's still a good emcee but there's better out there. I'd rank Cormega higher than him and I can't wait for his next album.

Its funny cause if you hear Reasonable Doubt Jigga was biting Biggie lines Hard. After Big died he had to switch up and turned commercial. Then Nas( even though he had a critically aclaimmed album) decided to turn pop( Ochie Wally Wally  ). So in effect Jigga is better than Nas at selling, while Nas is better at storytelling, generally rhyming. :welcome2:

You've got to be kidding me.
No Cormega has 3 classic albums already. The Realness, The True Meaning, The Testament are all classics in my opinion. Nas only has one real classic album (Illmatic) he's other albums don't even come close. Stillmatic is good but isn't a classic. Cormega just seems more consistent, he doesn't have many, if any, filler tracks and commercialism in his tracks. You get listen to the whole album from track 1 to track 14 with Cormega, unlike Nas.

That is one heck of an opinion, but seriously mate. Someone saying Cormega is better than Nas is laughable. I think Cormega is a really good underground rapper. But he has not and will never make as much of an impact to hiphop like Nas has. Nas' Illmatic album itself, buries Cormega's whole discography. Harsh but true.
Stillmatic is a classic also.

Yea but that was in 1994 look at Nas now. Street's Disciple was sub par, God's Son was average, Stillmatic was good but not outstanding. Look at the impact 50, Jay-Z, Snoop have on hiphop but does that make them better rappers than Cormega, AZ, and other underground artists? No. A lot of people say AZ's Doe or Die is just as good as Illmatic but he just never got the publicity. Saying Illmatic buries Cormega's whole discography now that's laughable. Cormega's albums came out in 2001 and 2002 with the exception of The Testament which was recorded in 1997 but didn't get released till last week or two. If you were to matchup The Realness and The True Meaning to Stillmatic and God's Son. Cormega's are easily better. Better lyrics, beats, and no Braveheart guests (Thank god). I'll agree with you that Illmatic is the best album out of the two artists, but it doesn't bury Cormega's albums. If it did then Cormega's albums would crucify It Was Written, I Am, God's Son, Street's Disciple. As of right now Cormega is a better artist. Nas needs to go back to his roots, make more tracks with AZ, and ditch the whole Braveheart garbage if he hasn't already, and stop trying to make club songs (You Know My Style, Ochie Wally Wally, No Else In The Room (What kind of crap was that?)).
Yea but that was in 1994 look at Nas now. Street's Disciple was sub par, God's Son was average, Stillmatic was good but not outstanding.
Streets Disciple was not subpar at all. Infact it was close to a classic, if he had only added some songs he decided to suddenly shelve.
Look at the impact 50, Jay-Z, Snoop have on hiphop but does that make them better rappers than Cormega, AZ, and other underground artists?
I said impact to hiphop, as in the music genre itself as in making a landmark album that is way past it's time line and epitomizes hiphop itself. Not making an impact commercially which Jigga, Snoop and Fiddy done. Anyway we were talking about Nas mate. Where the heck did 50 Cent and Jay-Z come from ?
No. A lot of people say AZ's Doe or Die is just as good as Illmatic but he just never got the publicity.
What kind of publicity ? Nas said himself:
''My first album had no famous guest appearances
The outcome ? I'm crowned the best lyricist''
Saying Illmatic buries Cormega's whole discography now that's laughable. It does as he has not been able to come close to it. We are talking about Illmatic here, not some above average album.

I agree if he would have added Serious to the tracklist it would have been better but no where close to classic. If that album is a classic you must think a lot of other albums are classics. In my opinion a classic album is an album where you don't skip songs and can go all the way through it from beginning to end.

To be honest streets disciple would have been a classic if he shortend it dwn to 1 disk and chopped off the shit. Comega is ill but u forgot he only has to appeal to the underground market while nas has to appeal to all hip hop lovers. You can't really compare an established mainstream artist to a underground artist. Nas is successful in mainstream hip hop with a style that isn't very popular in mainstream
It is hard to say what is the best hip/hop album because there is to many good albums, and even if you put the best songs from classic albums on one CD there would be tracks people won't like or say that shouldn't be on there.
But everybody has a right to there opinion........

Any Wu fan should go get Disciples of the 36 Chambers: Chapter 1. It's a live performance with all the Wu members there bringing the gritty hardcore sound back. I find it amazing how a group of 9 emcees can all blend together and put out some best hip hop ever. If you aren't a fan of the Wu or haven't heard any of their cd's then I recommend you buy Enter the 36 Chambers. Now that's a classic and definately one of the greatest albums ever made!
Anyways Gunplay I have Nas concert on my iTunes. I could upload it onto yousendit.com if you want me to.

Heres an offical review of Lost and Found - Will Smith
Review courtesy of allhiphop.com
Lost and Found
Artist: Will Smith
Title: Lost and Found
Rating: 3 & 1/2 STARS
Reviewed by: Houston Williams
Will Smith is madly in love with Hip-Hop.
This is the only justifiable reason why Philly’s first prince of rap would even bother making another rap album. When you are a $20 million-per-film sort of movie star, who needs to rap? However, when you are making that sort of money, you can do whatever you want and Will Smith does just that on Lost and Found (Interscope), a return to his roots.
Eminem once boasted, “Will Smith don't gotta cuss in his raps to sell records, well I do.” Lost and Found bears no “Parental Advisory” sticker and listeners looking for raunchy music should look elsewhere. But, what the Philly native lacks in vulgarity, he more than makes up with refreshing candor. On “Party Starter,” Big Willie comments on the sweeping changes the industry has undergone since his 80’s heyday. “A call for the days for the unadulterated/ When the artistry was cultivated/ You know back when rap was smart and multilayered/ We could rap without A&R’s and ultimatums.” Furthermore, Will gets laced with a plethora of quality beats from The Freshmen , Will’s Overbrook Productions, Polow The Don and others like Kwame.
Will’s candor extends throughout Lost and Found and frankly, he exerts more freedom of speech than your typical gangsta rapper. For example, on “Tell Me Why,” he and Mary J. Blige craft an emotional rollercoaster ride that rivals Jadakiss’ “Why.” With emotion unseen in the movie star, he yells, “Tell me why did James Byrd, Jr. have to be touched/ Tell me why did Martin and Malcolm depart from us/ tell me why did the sniper make that little boy shoot/ And why is human life always denied /Tell me why did Mandela have to live in a cage/ Tell me why did my brother Sterling die at that age…What am I supposed to say to my kids when they say ‘Why?’” Other songs like “Ms. Holy Roller” and “Mr. Niceguy” address weighty personal topics.
The other half of the album is pure, clean fun and that’s something sorely lacking in Hip-hop music these days. The beats are bouncy and geared to get the party poppin’ like it was live from Union Square in 1986. Truthfully, the problem with Lost and Found is outside of this album. It would appear that the label (Interscope Records) is more willing to put all of its energies in artists like 50 Cent, The Game and Eminem. Certainly, that’s a reality, but with the right push this album would be a platinum seller. And artistically, it more than rivals 50 Cent and Eminem, but falls under Game’s debut.
There are times that Big Will Smith sounds old school’ish, and that’s just what the game needs – a touch of old school. Will Smith was lost but only time will tell if fans will find him.

Yeah i got a line from "Dont stop" on my sig.
So I got The B Coming album. Like wrigh2uk the first thing I noticed was the sheer amount of guest appearances. Very Mixtape-esque.
After a thorough listen from the first track all the way too the last track. I must say, this album is pretty good. No way a classic. I'll tell you why.:
-The album has too many guests, hardly get to judge Beans' talent on it.
-Some guests end up ruining tracks ala Freeway on ''I Can't Go On This Way'', Oshino & Sparks on ''Tales Of A Hustler Pt.2''
-It has one of the worst tracks ever, ''Oh Daddy''
-Due to having so many guests, some end up outshining Beanie, Redman absolutely makes Beans disappear on ''One Shot Deal'', Peedi Crakk and Twista are better on ''Gotta Have It''
Anyway not taking away the fact this album is solid. He has some incredible songs ''Feel It In The Air'', ''Bread And Butter'', ''Lord Have Mercy'' and ''Change''. Great to see Beanie Sigel still the same and not severely changed by the commmercialised side of rap. In other ways his incarceration has helped him. Though it might have damaged his productivity.
I give this album a 3.5/5
Gunplay i like that track ''Oh Daddy''.

So hard to explain but here i go :
Mirc is software which i fink was originally designed for chatrooms but this has now been manipulated after all the diff versions. Now people have rooms on mirc in were u can download albums, movies apps, off bots who are owned by them or other ppl, haven't u ever download an album and its got sumthing like

RNS
on the title of the album - these ripper groups operate mainly on mirc
thats a really basic way to say it seen as u have no idea about it, shits complicated to use but once u learn how to use it, its very rewarding , seen as mirc gets advance and retail versions of albums, when albums leak they leak onto mirc first of all.

That and ''Corners'' exemplify hiphop mate.
It's looking good, esspecially with Kanye producing alot of it. Should be a good album.
Now heres where it gets interesting. 50 cent has claimed that this was a fixed fight from the beginning. If 50 cent were to purchase Jadakiss's publishing from Puffy, even for double the price Jada owes, he would infact basically have the LOX signed under him and therefore he would basically control Styles P's next release. This would mean that he would make money off of his cd just like he did with Game's. So all the Hype that 50 has been starting for Jada over this beef will only in end profit for him. Now remember it is not confirmed that 50 has bought his publishing yet but it could be a possibility, because as you recall the Bad Boy-LOX parting was not on good terms and may have led to burnt bridges with the LOX and Puffy. Puffy might just end up selling 50 the publishing because 50 is hot right now and having 50 owe you a huge favour is a very good thing. As well Puffy is an arrogant son of a bitch and is a smart business man, he knows the LOX are going nowhere and it will take them a long time to pay him back. Good business for Puffy is to collect on the money NOW.
Listen to "i run new york" 5o cent ft tony yayo dissing jadakiss.

^ No ones gonna respond back i fon't think , Fat Joe definatly won't respond , maybe jada i dunno if he does its jus to raise his profile commerical wise, and nas is 50/50
Okay so i've just listened to Common's ''Be'' album and I must say it is superb. Common delivers on every track, this is what hiphop is all about people.
What I really like about this album is it has that soulful-feel, if you know what I mean.
Common absolutely rips ''Chi City'', he really unwinds on it, talking about his view of hiphop. And the track ''Testify'' is just incredible, I can't even explain it. Also even if you don't like Common you'll love the track ''Go'', got that typical Kanye West feel to it.
I could go on about every track, but would rather cut it short incase of a change in the final release, but if you are a fan of Kanye West, Mos Def and Talib Kweli, then this album is unavoidable.

Dr. Dre has decided to abandon work on his highly anticipated final LP, according to the cover feature article in the upcoming XXL magazine.
Dr. Dre and the newest members of the Shady/Aftermath family including Busta Rhymes and The Game share the cover of XXL's May issue. According to SOHH.com sources who've reviewed the issue in advance, Dre announces that he is no longer planning to release his long awaited final LP, Detox. Apparently, the good doctor has given up the project that was heralded as "the most musically advanced Hip-Hop album ever" by fellow co-producers including Scott Storch.
Dre will now have more time to work on a slew of up and coming projects including Busta, who is scheduled to release his next offering in early 2005.

Don't even get me started on the shitty ass rock I use to listen. I used to think Nas's best song was "Hate me now" (Holy shit lol!). Of course that was when I was in 6-7th grade. Then I started learning about other artists from friends and even MTV, when they use to play Dead Prez's "Hip-Hop" I almost shat my pants, the point being is that they have to start somewhere. I'm sure once they expand their library most of their opinions will change.

Nelly is pretty much a joke now, especcially with that 'Over And Over' song. DMX has always been crazy. Guilty Conscience was one of the first Hip-Hop tracks I can remember listening to. But some of the commercial rap thesedays is like 'Hip-Pop' if thats what it's called. I didn't like Candy Shop at all whereas where I live everyone couldn't stop singing it, or attempting to for that matter, imagine the agony. A couple of Eminems' tracks have been weak that he has released in the last year or two, like 'Just Lose it' and 'Mosh' - good idea with Mosh but I just didn't really like it.

lolol....how come Game started having beef with 50 cent?? someone told me about that last week I think n I never kenw anything about it.
2 Main Reasons
50 cent got jealous of all the hype around game and started underming the game (saying he was goin no were till i sorted him out, hes onli selling records cus im on them stuff like that)
Plus when 50 took shots at nas, game didn't wanna be involved and 50 saw this as disloyal and kiked him outta gay unit, even tho game sed he quit gay unit

But they cooled it for now because the nypd were scared of violence i think, then they had that conference were they shook hands
And it was all a big publicity stunt by both Game and Fiddy, again revealing such a great business mind 50 Cent really has, sold 1.1 million copies in 4 days. He is now tied with The Beatles' record.

yeah exactly all the 'beef' did was hype up both their albums, you gotta give it to him 50 is good at that stuff
And it was all a big publicity stunt by both Game and Fiddy, again revealing such a great business mind 50 Cent really has, sold 1.1 million copies in 4 days. He is now tied with The Beatles' record.
Yes. In a sense.
One of Game's men got shot in the leg I think as well as scraped in the shoulder by a bullet.
He has a great business mind though, thats why he is selling so much. Because a lot of his records are commercial, although sooner or later his rapping about getting shot will eventually put people off him..
Although I think he raked in over $50 Million in 2003, and this year 'The Massacre' has sold a hell of a lot more than his previous album. Just think how much money he is going to make, I also heard something about 50 buying this LOX thing or whatever as well to gain more profit. The man's on top of his game, put it that way.

Yeah, it was related with the beef.
Apparently Game was fuming when 50 aired him over Radio about the boot.
Then went along to the station along with his 'posse'. And while 50 was being interviewed by FunkMaster Flex there were some shots fired by one of 50's bodyguards while 50 and Olivia got escorted out of the back door. One of Game's friends got hit and scraped by the bullets.
Then a couple of days later, apparently Game's mates went past 50's record building 'Violater Records' and shot at it a fair few times and apparently smashed a window or something in the front door.
So if it was just all a set-up to sell records, then I think it got a little out of control, but I guess it definetely still did the job if it was set-up.

Its cliche you know but they have gone from nothing to everything so quickly that they still act as if they were in the 'hood', games 'willing to do two life sentences back to back' so please dont push him lol

Well Game still goes back to the hood an awful lot so that counts for something.
I was thinking what the worst case scenario could be for Game....

Game said he never wants to leave the hood where as 50 cent has left the hood and all he raps about is how hard he is and the hood when he doesnt even live there!!!!

Most rappers turned to rap as a way of getting out the hood instead of hustling, If its a better life for them then good luck to them...redman still lives in the hood-although his house is huge!
They usually want their families to be with them, and they dont want to move out of the hood coz of all their relations there.

Someone mentioned something about The Game still being in the hood and 50 Cent has moved yet he still talks about the hood...and they made out as if it was a bad thing to move out the hood....If doing something to better your life is wrong then what was the point in 50 Cent getting into the rap industry?-He got in it to get away from dealing on the streets...
