I've only just notived this, but Ronaldinho and Puyol look so odd standing there like that. They just don't look if they're standing naturally, sort of like a couple of dodgy waxwork models.

Absolutely!
Just read that benfica are after Maxi Lopez and Larsson. Hehe we offered Saviola. I really wouldnt wanna see Maxi or Larsson go they are both great back up for etoo and both add something a little different to etoo. Oh and woodgates career goes from bad to worse, he looks set to be injured even more time now. Real Madrid know a bargin when they see it. hehe what makes me laugh is the fact 2 seasons ago they had the chance to sign Milito but didnt because of a knee injury "supposedly" and now look at him his gone from strength to strength. Whats Woodgate done? get a nice sun tan is all.

Saviola will probably play in Espanyol next year, he hasn't tripped to Japan with the rest of the team and his pass to the Espanyol is near to be closed.
What do you think about that? I really like Saviola but is a fact that any great team in Europe is interested in him..
And Supa Kev... i'm sure Madrid is going to set three years without a title...
I also think Real ain't goona with SHIET this season, they still have the same porblems as before. Yes, it is partly because they have weak players in the defensive sector, but mostly I think it is the way the club is run and the fact that Figo and Zidane are at the decline of their careers, Raul playing shit, but having to be a starter because he is Real's golden boy. Same story with Beckham, playign just because he is good looking. They keep insisting on this "galactico team", but that is in the past, it doens't work, maybe I am wrong and it iwll work this year for one last time before Zidane retires and Figo leaves, but I asked my self that the last two seasons, and no results. The team literally struggles every game, it is annoying, that they still get all this talk even though they are not very good. Sorry, I realize this is the barcelona thread...
But anyway, yeah, too bad Larsson is still around, maybe he will have one or two seasons left in him to help Barcelona, he is still around onyl because he didn't play at all last season, so he still has to prove himself. I think an attack with Ronaldinho, Deco, Eto'o and Saviola though is better than one witht he other three and Larsson, but we'll see. Barca is a fast skilled team, and they kind of lose that will LArsson, although he is a man for the area, but Eto'o already takes care of the goals. If I were Rijkaard, I would hold Saviola around just in case, but I know that that is impossible because his salary is too high for a sub. I guess if worst comes to worst, they lend Saviola for one more season (if he goes to Atletico MAdrid, that would be something, playing along side Torres and Kezman), and he comes back next season after the cup to replace old LArsson, if the Swede fails to perform well enough. I don't think they should sell Saviola though, he is a VERY good player even though he is tiny.

I was really surpurised when i knew the news about Baptista, i really expect to see him in Barcelona next year as it was a extended roumor that he's signed a precontract with Barça.
Anyway and thinking it twice, we've probably the most balanced, talented and strong midfield in Europe just with Deco, Xavi, Van Bommel, Marquez, Edmilson, Iniesta, Motta, Gabri, so we don't need anyone else in that position.
I won't give credit to Madrid next year altough Baptista is a great player they've a very bad balanced team with a shitty defense and always depending on the inspiration of Ronaldo. They can't fight with our FCB.
Hey SMASON, the t-shirt is very cool! With Eto'o in the back, cooool!

You're right, Sevilla wanted to sell him this year just beacuse Baptista'd cost three milions euros next year and it was a bad bussiness for Sevilla.
Anyway Baptista had said several times, especially last year, that he love Barcelona bla bla bla. In fact Baptista wanted to wait a year in Sevilla one and then come to Barcelona the next season. Is logical that he's gone to Madrid just bacuase of the money and also because Sevilla didn't want to wait one season for selling him.
Anyway we keep being the best team in Spain and probably in Europe, don't need Baptista at all and no comments on Robinho, Ronaldinho is miles away from him, easily the best player in the world for the next five years, and he's in Barcelona...
And about the t.shirts, ask for a credit card and buy them in the official site!

I think Ezquerro is more a winger than a midifielder as Baptista is. Baptista can play everywhere in the midfield is a kind of player more similar to Deco or Van Bommel but with more offensive vocation. He's a great player indeed but we don't need him at all because of our well balanced team.
i think barcelona wouldnt need to sign another player , cuz every position is full of world class players , everyone of them . havin baptista is good for barcelona , but i think ezquerro fill taht space , no ?
Ok, I'm Barça till I die but I have to disagree with the whole "every position is full of world class players" Ezquerro has nothing on Baptista, I would of taken Baptista no questions. Goalkeeping area isnt world class in my opinion, I mean Valdes hasn't even got a Cap for Spain so he can't be world class. And to be honest I would of liked us to sign a stong defense right back, Beletti is great but when we are 2-0 up or whatever I would prefer him to be a little more cautious in his attacking. But all in all we still have the best team in spain, Madrid have done it all wrong with the transfers once again! I mean scoring goals is not their problem.
Kluiverte
01-08-2005, 14:15
Of course that Ezquerro is far different from Baptista, and of course Baptista is a better player, but Ezquerro will make his role in the team being a good sub. You can't compare them. The fact is Barca needed more a player like Ezquerro than a player like Baptista.
Madrid is signing forwards when their defense and midifileld are poor, for me is perfect...
Good news my people. We will not have a sponsor spoil our wonderful kits this season! I cannot give you a link to a source because i saw it on the news in a sports channel that is quite reliable.

Why not ? I`ve seen the presentation of the kits by myself
Well the kits have been released already for this year so if the board did decide to get a sponsor then it'd be for next season, so that doesn't make much difference anyway. So the fact that there isn't going to be a sponsor this season doesn't mean that there won't be one next year.
I think that Barca could win the La Liga again they have signed a few new faces haven't seen them play but they sound good, good luck on ur quest for consectutive La Liga titles

IMO this season will be decisive for Messi as he'll surely play a lot with the first team in La Liga and also in the Champions League so he'll have to show everyone the kind of player he's.
I personally think he's strong in his mind, don't tell me why but it's my impression after seeing him playing lately.
All this talk about him being the next Maradona must really piss him off. For a start, he's not the next Maradona, he's the first Leo Messi, and there's so much pressure on the guy to be a star. The way he's being hyped he's never going to live up to the expectations.
Messi has ALOT to learn still...
anyway, Saviola has found his team, got loaneed to Sevilla... great buy for the guys from Andalucia

This is completely irrelevant, but I thought I'd post it anyway. I'm currently reading the autobiography of Brian Clough, arguably the greatest manager of all time, and I read how he was given an interview for the vacant manager's job at Barca in the seventies. But he blew it when they asked him how he'd deal with the situation of 100,000 fans waving white hankies at him. His reply, very typical of him, was "By then I'd have learned enough Spanish to tell them all to piss off." I wonder if that would have worked?

Rijkaard is starting to annoy me. I had a fit when i saw Oleguer enter the pitch. That fecking amateur isnt good enough to play in my fecking hood let alone an elite football club. Brilliant performances by Deco, Xavi, Giuly and Ronaldinho as always. That Edmilson is a real classy player and very confident. Bommel we didnt get to watch enough of him so i couldnt really make up my mind about how he will fare in the team but the guy is a real presence and very predatory. I think he will score quite a few this season. Twas a good game but i felt bad for Betis they deserved to score one at least but Valdes would have none of that.
I dont understand why the hell Rijkaard allows an amateur like Oleguer to play alongside such a pro like Puyol...
EDIT: Did anyone else think it was strange that Rijkaard had Ronaldinho and Eto'o reverse their positions? I didnt like that one bit. Eto'o cannot perform a playmaking role for shit.

I'd rather see Marquez play at centre-back, but he was injured, and Oleguer isn't as bad as you make out.

Because Oleguer will benefit and will become a better player who is capable of staking a claim for a regular place. And what better time to do it than in a glorified friendly?

I agree with you here. Eto'o should definitely be in the middle. It is rather foolish playing someone who's best quality is scoring goals out wide. Ronaldinho however can play anywhere.

Smart with the ball in his foot, good defender, great passer especially with the long passes (pure Ronald Koeman style!) i'm amazed with him and he'll be determinant for Barca. Barcelona made a £17 million bid for Real Betis wing ace Joaquin a fortnight ago, it has been revealed.
AS says Barca introduced the offer over concerns with the form of Frenchman Ludovic Guily on the right-side of their midfield. The £17 million bid included striker Javier Saviola, who eventually signed for Sevilla over the weekend.
Betis president Manuel Ruiz de Lopera remains insistent that Joaquin does not need to be sold, having revealed offers from Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona over the last three months.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta has revealed they have secured first refusal on Sevilla fullback Daniel Alves.
The Brazil international only signed a new deal at Sevilla last week following over a month of speculation linking him with Liverpool.
Laporta is believed to have struck the agreement during negotiations for Javier Saviola's loan move to Sevilla over the weekend.
"I have the word of (Sevilla president Jose Maria) Del Nido and that is all we need," said Laporta when asked about Daniel's situation.

The Tannadice Park boss was keen to sign the young full back on a season-long loan after impressing the Tayside club during a summer trial.
However, the Spanish champions were unwilling to let The Terrors have the services of the 22-year-old for the current Scottish Premier League campaign.
"Our move to get Pena is now completely dead," Chisholm told the Daily Record.
"Barcelona have said he's not available, so we'll keep looking elsewhere to strengthen that area of the team."

wooh! we jus won the super copa... but personally i thought it was a disgraceful way to claim it. not only were we playing at home but losing to a "under-strengthed" betis too...
ah well, maybe the players were relying on the 3 goal cushion too much.
anyway, next target... to defend the liga champions' status and of course to win the champions league (hope we meet chelsea again and cain them)!
We got Oleguer to thank for both goals but still Rijkaard chooses to use him instead of the Marquez, Puyol and Edmilson combo. He substituted Belleti with Marquez and moved Oleguer to the right back position for fucks sake! I dont like Rijkaard right now. And i completely despise Oleguer.

Samulel Eto'o scored in something like the 8th minute, nicked the ball from teh Betis defender and fiished it superbly!
A bit dissapointed with Barca last night, losing to a weakened Betis team at home. Although Barca did have their chances but unfortunately couldn't finish them, what the hey we still won the Super Copa:D

Anyone here saw the match against Juventus last wednesday????? LEO MESSI WAS ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! A must see!
He dribbled easily Cannavaro, Perroto, Vieira!! Incredible, the way that Juve players stopped him was with faults, faults and faults. Three yellow cards were showed to Juve players due to faults upon Messi. Really impressive.
Not only made great dribbles and moves, he assisted Iniesta for the first goal and was near to score at least two goals by individual efforts.
Please wellcome the sensation of the 2005-2006 season... LEO MESSI!

eto'o is ok in that match , he should have scored though . but the worst of all is oleguer , he's the one that always made the mistake , it's 3 matches in a row and the reason the opponents score is always oleguer . just sell him away man ! any defender is better than oleguer

Yes, it was very dissapoiting, but after seeing the match, Barca deserved to win, there were a lot of chances to score but there was no way of scoring, i get crazy seeing it.
Anyway, Barca played great as they used to do it last season. I bet for Barca again this year, i think that our team is strong just beacuse is that, a real team, eleven players playing very close and making the best football (is my opinion), just bad luck last saturday.
About Eto'o, i think he's one of the classest forwards nowadays in Europe, there's no doubt about that.
About Rijkaard... why he puts Eto'o on the left wing and makes Ronaldinho play as striker??¿?¿? is he going crazy?¿?¿ is he smoking too many joints lately??? for god's sake!

I was wondering about that myself. He was trying him on both sides as well. When Larsson came in Ronnie moved to the left and Eto'o to the right...I dont think the first game of the season is a good time to try out new tactics.
Kluiverte

Yes it was very dissapointing to see Eto'o on the left side. I understand the tactic but last year Eto'o scored 24 goals playing as a classic forward...why Rijkaard has to change something that worked perfectly?
No mention to the great season of Ronaldinho playing in the left side.
Let's hope Rijkaard put a little of sense.
Regarding the saturday match i've to admitt that neither Xavi, Deco and Edmilson played as they're supposed to do it and when the midifield doesn't work properly the barca gameplay gets worse. Let's be patient!!
I also don't see why Rijkaard makes Ronaldinho a center forward when he is really a playmaker/striker who plays on the left. The team did not work with Eto`o on the left and ROnaldinho in the middle. Also, why isn't the defense Belletti, Puyol, Marquez/Edmilson, Gio? or Puyol, Marquez, Edmilson, Gio with Van Bommel in the midfield? I don't think Bommel should be left on the bench so much.
I like having Larsson as an option to come in to make Barssa play with three attackers, Larsson in the middle, with Ronaldinho and Eto'o on each side, but they stil need to work on that formation, although it will come in handy in the future.
Messi is also a good option, but let me just make one thing clear, Robinho is light years ahead of Messi. The argentine is not going to have too many appearances this season neither me thinks.

Did you guys hear anything about the clause in Rijkaards new contract that states he can leave for AC Milan at the end of every season if he gets the opportunity.
I do not know if this is a reliable Source (http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/sep6c.html).
why does he want to go back milan ? he's doin well in barca right ? unless he does a souness , then he can leave anytime
Barcelona whizkid Lionel Messi could be allowed to leave the Nou Camp for NOTHING due to a contract cock-up.
Messi remains barred from playing for Barca in Spain because of his non-EU status. The 17 year-old signed a new contract through to 2010 and with a £100 million buyout clause on the understanding he was a Spanish national.
But because of a cock-up over his qualification papers, it's understood the contract signed does not hold until Messi qualifies for a Spanish passport - which at the earliest won't be until December.
Messi insists he wants to stay at Barca, but the situation is dragging on and the longer he does not play the more unlikely he will be considered for Argentina's World Cup squad.

I also read this on some site, but I did not really believe it as I always understood that you were only not allowed to field more than 3 non-eu players at the same time.
But that you were allowed to have more than 3 non-eu players under contract? And don't they already have more than 3 non-eu residents under contract (Ronnie, Eto'o, Marquez, Edmilson, Motta, Silvinho, Maxi)?
Maybe some of the guys from Spain can shed a light on this?

I today read on a Dutch footbal site that Rijkaard denied that he asked for a buyout clause of € 1,5m in the "Marca" newspaper?
But on the other hand I also read that Berlusconi had backed Ancelotti. And when Berlusconi publically says he backs you, you can assume that this is your last year as the AC Milan manager :innocent:

Last news says that Barca won't accept that clause that Rijkaard is asking for, and is also known that Berlusconi wants Franky, we'll see but i bet for Rijkaard sitting on the Barca bench for several years more.
About Messi and the problems on his contract... He'll surely will be on the pitch next Barca match against Mallorca in Camp Nou so there won't be any problem with him. He's said once and once again that he wants to stay in his beloved club. Laporta is fixing that problems on the contract and Messi will stay in Barcelona with his fixed contract. As you'd know, Messi came to Barcelona when he was 13 years old.
I'm sure that Messi will be the sensation of the season...let's wait...
He's wouldn't go for nothing, because he'd just reject whatever contract the other club offered him.

I think so, in fact i think we'll place Guily during the season... It's a long time since people is talking about Messi and i've seen him playing several times, he scored twice last year against Albacete if i'm not wrong... But not great appearences till the match against Juve last August, he was the best player of the match by far doing great dribbles to the likes of Cannavaro, Vieira... great. He also made a great assistance to Iniesta that finally scored... He completed a great match and i hope he keeps improving as he's only eighteen.

Eto'o needs 2 calm down a bit. Bit of composure in front of goal and he will score more goals. Good game tonight, shame bout the red cards but game already won by then. Think we still need a quality defender tho. Looking at Robinho he could torment our defence. He looks quality for Real. (hate to say it i hasten to add)

Larsson is the second alternative in the barca attack, the first is Eto'o of course. I think Larsson will play more than Maxi, that's for sure.

I adore Deco, he's great technic and passing as well but after that he's running, pressing, disturbing the rival, he's a complete midfielder very balanced.
Deco is a football god no doubt. Eto'o, as i have said before, is a selfish kunt and should pass the ball more often. I like the fact that he is predatory but he really should keep a leash on his pride. He kept on trying and trying to get his damn hat trick we could have scored a couple more if hed only set someone up. But he did score two good goals, headers strangely enough! So ill forgive him his sins this once :).
Vommel and Ezquerro seem to be adapting quite nicely to their new club and im sure it wont be long before they start scoring goals.

I'm with you about Eto'o, when he gets obsessed with scoring he's selfish and fails every single shot...(do you remember the end of the last season?) but we have to admitt that he's a GREAT player and not only a striker as he is good dribbling, passing, creating spaces on the defense, really class.
About Bommel, i like the way he plays, he need maybe more minutes on the field to develop his football. I really expect a great performance this season.

I want to stay optimistic about tonight's game but Bremen is a team with a lot of height which may prove to be our undoing. They are very dangerous with corners and set pieces. Yeah, you can see it in goal.com and uefa.com. Lionel Messi has signed up until 2014. wise, real wise from Barca.
He is apparently on 'first team wages'. Does anyone know how much that is? Because if it's £40,000 or something stupid like that then that's rather dumb on Barca's part because he won't play often this season or next probably, and he'll be earning far too much. However, if he's on lowish wages, say £10-15,000, then that's very shrewd business because he'll be earning that for a while, even when he's world class.

Just a question for you Barcelona fans on here, would you ever condone and agree to the selling of Xavi to Man Utd?

No Way ..., He And Puyol Are The The Spanish Talismen For The Catalans There Would Be An Uproar From The Fans.
Xavi is a catalan and far too valuable just like Puyol. I doubt they will ever sell any of them. They're both loved in Barcelona and besides i doubt they would want to leave anyway.

Never.
i dun think they would sell xavi , he's pretty much indispensable to the team

No way would Barca sell Xavi. He is an incredible and an influencial player in midfeild. I would hate to see him leave Barca.
Rijkaard needs to freshen things up a bit. Eto'o isnt doing a damn thing these days apart from that game against Mallorca when he got lucky. He should give Maxi and Larsson a fucking chance. And maybe try Gabri as a right back for a bit. I also hate seeing Bommel and Ezquerro on the bench. We are so predictable these days its making me sick.
I am pleased with the rumours that Henry might be coming to Barca, him and Ronaldinho in the team would kick some Spanish ass.

Get Larsson on. He will help turn somehting around... his aerial abilities are the best in Spain!

why does rijkaard wanna switch to a 4-3-3 formation when the 4-4-2 served him well last season? vanbommel and xavi in the centre would be a good pair.

OK, first,Henry won't leave us to join Barca. Second,Barca really need to refresh their tactics. Both of their goals against Valencia were pure luck(the 1st one was supposed to be a foul on Vicente).Ronaldinho isn't really dazzling like he was two seasons ago.even last year,he only delivered in doses, never really reaching the heughts of that 1st season at the Nou Camp.Barca's key man is Deco, but he can't do much without some support.Problem is how can Rijkaard pick two from Xavi, van Bommel and Deco? If Barca don't find that magnificent form soon, things are gonna get real ugly for them, real fast.
Well it seems that he did change the tactics a bit last night and it worked out just fine. Bommel and Ezquerro scored their first goals of the season and Maxi would have too if Eto'o had not stolen it from him. Literally. Larsson gave a lovely performance even though he didnt have a goal to show for it. Now on to tuesdays clash with the Italian revelation Udinese. Good news is that Iaquinta has refused to extend his contract because he wants more money so the club didnt let him play this weekend and probably will not play in the CL game.
where's ronaldinho last night ? is he injured ?
Rijkaard chose to rest both Ronaldinho and Deco for the next CL game.

Missed the game, were Barca all over Betis ?
Nice to see Van Bommel score, i was just waiting for that moment and as soon as i found out i was overjoyed, he is a great player and deserves to start more. Don't know much about Ezquerro though so shall watch some highlights later.
Anyway about Iaquinta missing the cl game, good news as he his Udinese's best player imo, and an infuencial goalscorer. With him missing from the Udinese squad it is a massive boost for Barca.
We were actually fortunate in that game against Betis because Oliveira pulled a Rooney early in the game. He protested a yellow and then proceded to clap his hands in the refs face so the ref told him to fuck off.
If Udinese do not reach some kind of agreement with Iaquinta and refuse to let him play this Tuesday then we will probably win with considerable ease.

I expect Ronnie and Deco to be ultra motivated tonite because of their ausence last match against Betis.
I'm really happy bacause of last match, barca showed how a great team is winning in a very hard match without the two most brilliant players (altought Xavi, Puyol, Eto'o and co. are great players) Deco and Ronnie. It'll help the rest of team to get really confident to know they can win without them in the field.
I really like Van Bommel, great great great player, he's omnipresent on the field and creates a lot of chances of scoring apart from defending, pressing and running all the time. Very good impression caused Ezquerro too, i didn't expect him to play so well as he did, he scored and assisted Maxi/Eto'o in the third goal. I liked his speed and also his skill (superior to Guily by far but no so quick as the french), he's a good option for the attack as he can play in both sides and also as classic forward.
And the last good new for Barca, Messi is spanish since yesterday what it means that he can play La Liga from now on... That's so good... Messi is gonna be a superstar, the revelation of the season for sure.
About the match tonite, hope to see Barca playing a great football and winning, i expect 3-1 for Barca.
Cheers!

Maxi Lopez played few minutes against Betis, did it quite well, he's good movements in attack. Eto'o stealed a goal from his feets (if you see it you'll know what i mean) and assisted Ezquerro for scoring the fourth goal.

Aye... had a feeling that Barcelona would net four. Excellent display by Deco and Ronaldinho. Back to form now, then.
Well for the sake of Panathinaikos,. i strongly hope Ronaldinho gets injured, even just for their next cl game.. If Ronaldinho plays in Athens, it will be very, very hard to win. Eto'o would be dangerous aswell, Deco can hit top form at anytime..The only thing we can take positive coming to the match on October 18 is that, we beat them last time they came to Athens, 1-0. Although we lost 3-1 at the Camp Nou,:(. Worrying times for PAO, hope we wont give up, give a fight..

Anyone know what the rumor is about Ronaldinho's new "gold" Nike Air Zoom Legend?? I'm watching Barca v Real Zaragoza right now. The camera seems to focus on Ronaldinho's boot every chance that it has.
BTW, Barca is doing great so far. Giuly and Eto looks quite dangerous. 33 minutes in the 1st half.
Those boots cost £4,000 and are made of 24 carat gold.

So I guess thats why the camera was focusing on his boots so damn much. Man, he better score some fantastic goals with those boots ;)
He just pulled one back with a penalty, now just 2-1 down with 11 minutes left, should be exciting.

What a game! Barca was on the verge of losing but they finally come back! Barca performance was very poor but they did well to get the goals back.
Those boots cost £4,000 and are made of 24 carat gold.
Holy shit!
They were saying in Barca TV that they were made specially for him. When the reporter asked Dinho about them as he was coming out of the dressing room he didnt seem to be too impressed about it. 'They are just boots' he said...
You gotta love the guy.
I have a new found respect for Eto'o. What a steal. Thats precisely what he is really good at and is the best at it.
Bommel is such a great signing im so happy that we got this guy.
It was a draw in the end but the come back was glorious!
We really do suck defending set pieces, dont we?.
Oh well, on to Riazor now and a very difficult game against Deportivo.
Just wondering any injuries today? how about any long term injuries?
The only injured players at the moment are Gabri and Motta. They are not serious injuries though, so they should be playing soon enough.
ahh.. i see.. thanks then muad'dib.. if ever a player does go injured please post it up alright? i need those informations regularly.. thank you.. ;)

There wont be any games played this next week because i think its WC qualifiers weekend again. But after that we are playing away against Deportivo. Tough match.

it's being a hard beginning for Barca, they're not showing the streght and team play showed last season, anyway i think it's just a question of time seeing barca at the same level showed last year, even better than that i think.
Better i'm sure. Just wait till Bommel and Ezquerro have completely assimilated their teammates' style of play.

What is Ezquerro really like??
I'v seen a few matches this season but from what i have seen of him didn't really impress me. For example in the Barca Udinese match(not sure if it was this match) when he came on as a sub he kept loosing the ball, then would kinda ruin Larsson's chances to go through on goal. Is he like a skillful player, goalscorer, flop or what??

He's mainly a winger but he can play as forward too, he's quite skillful and has a goos pass too. I expect him to play more often as i'm confident on him.
About Van Bommel i expect great things from him, he's a great player.

I don't expect Ezquerro to ever hold down a regualar first team place, however he is a very decent player to have around, because he can cover all of the three attacking positions. It's always good to have a player like that in your squad.

That's exactly what i think about Ezquerro, his role is to be a good sub prepared to play at any moment.
Do any of you think that as part of the rotation Rijkaard will start Larsson up front with Maxi in the bench and will leave Eto'o out so he will be fresh for the PAO game?

hmm.. i think thats more possible to be honest. yeah, if they do drop points in La Liga, they can retain it. But dropping points in the CL can cost damage.. im not saying Eto'o decides barca's results, but he can score, and against Pao. i feel he will, :(.. and besides, barca will be looking to finish the CL group stages asap.. and as much as i hate to say it, they will be looking to get six points from PAO, three in athens, three in barcelona.. so yeah, i think Rijkaard is more cautious on the PAO game.. Hopefully Pao has other plans..

I won't wonder if Rijkaard do that. It's said that in the next rotation Eto'o will be out of the team. But i think Deportivo is stronger than PAO and Eto'o will play.

Tristan's shot was superb, it came off the bottom left and right to the foot of Valeron.
Barca needs to be more dangerous up to. They can't seem to control the ball inside the '18.
More dangerous than that!? The one thing we are good at is our deadly counter attacks and superb ball possesion. What we need is a good partner for Puyol not a second rate-catalan-connected-amateur like Oleguer. The only reason he plays is because the fucking nationalist scum likes to have two center backs and goalie of catalunian descent, its so fucking obvious. Who in their right mind takes out Marquez instead of leaving him and bringing in Edmilson to replace Oleguer. I swear i feel nausea everytime i see that fool play.
looks nice.. hopefully we can capitalize on Barca's mistakes in Athens..
Yeah I agree we need a change at the back, and I think either Valdes or Oleguer need to be changed.
Valdes is not the problem, he is a decent keeper, that's why he won the Zamora last season. Plus there's no-one to come in for him really.
Oleguer, he does need to be changed, he's making too many errors as of late. The centre backs should be Puyol and Marquez, with Edmilson anchoring the midfield. Belletti and Gio the full backs.

Yeah I agree.
Oleguer is not worth a place in the back 4 now. Puyol, Marquez, Belletti and Gio make there best 4. Barca could definetly do with another good defender.

Oi, Hands off!!! :realmad:
He's hinted he'd like a move to Milan though but Im sure he'd settle with Barca(I think the word settle is an under-statement). :D
yikes 10 points from madrid , don't look good man , gotta win more matches and wait for real to slip , so many la liga clubs are doing well this season , and yes muad , i hate oleguer like u too . i was disspointed when rijkaard let him start first team , for fuck sake use marquez and puyol !!
Were only 5 points away, Pier. I dont really hate the guy. I just think that he is the one that should be on the bench. He is a good defender but not a great one. And he has no attacking skills whatsoever. I'd love to have someone like Gallas or Alex or Kompany who are so versatile.
