Who do you think is the greatest cartoon character ever created? It can be kids cartoons, family cartoons or adult cartoons. I would have to say Beavis/Cornholio!

Off the top of my head I would have to go old skool. Bugs and Daffy are tied at the top. They were the inspiration for everything to come.

Definitly Buggs and Daffy. Hilarious cartoons and clasic. They are the first on my mind.
Roadrunner and Wile E Coyote were the best IMO

Homer Simpson & Samurai Jack are great.
But let's not forget He-Man, Skeletor, She-Ra, Inspector Gadget and there's loads more....
(not that I ever watched She-Ra of course - I heard about it one time!)
Homer simpson and Tom and Jerry were always the best things to watch if you wanted to be amused.
It's gotta be Homer for me as my sig suggests! :D

You must have deference to the old skool! Without them there would be no Homer... but speaking laterally without Homer there would be no oratory, no storytelling and therefore no Homer!

Okay, maybe late eighties cult anime isn't everyone's thing.
It's gotta be Homer Simpson...or even Peter Griffin from Family Guy.
Much better than your animated animals.
Mr Bean was cool too in his little green mini?

Let us not forget Dangermouse and Charlie Brown and Snoopy.
The way Lucy pulls the ball away from Charlie Brown every time he goes to kick the american football, classic!!
I'll most definetly have to go along with Pete Griffin from Family Guy, asbolutely quality, far more entertaining than Homer if you ask me :)

Hey! I must be getting a reputation as a complete arse. Well deserved of course. Anyway, yes, I have seen Akira (years ago) and it was excellent. As a cutting edge piece of Manga then it was incredible to watch but very long.
Tetsuuuuuuuuuuuuuuoooooooooooo oooooooooooo!!!!!!!

tetsuo was the man, optimus prime would kick his ass but.
So much nostalgia, so many great characters...
Bugs Bunny was always a real favourite of mine, as as Yosemite Sam.
Homer definitely gets it in terms of contemporary characters though.

Milhouse (Simpsons)
Bender (Futurama)

has to be Eric Cartman hands down, look out for the 'Casa Bonita' episode of South Park on the new series, not sure when Sky One will show it.
For me it has to be in this order.
Raph Wiggum.
Top Cat.
Dangermouse.
Smurfette.
Dangermouse.
Penelope Pitstop.
Mr Bean in the animated series :D
Peter, Chris and Stewie Griffin from family guy are all fantastic but Quagmire takes the gold, he is my idol...
