what do you think??? i think its better than I Miss You
Personally I thought the two new songs actually showed a bit of muturity in their music (about time too, they must be nearing their 30s now). I liked I Miss You quite a bit and Feeling This too to a lesser extent.

yeah didn't think too much of feeling this but i miss you is a good track, at least they've realized that they cant keep goin on singin about teen problems wen they're in their 30's which is wat a lot of bands try to do.

I feel that the new album has a new side to Blink that is nicer to see. They are being a lot more mature. I mean the songs are just really deep when you listen to the lyrics. They have new musical styles being incorperated are awesome. Using a spinning microphone to make a new effect. Or facing the amps into a shower stall thing. They are being a lot more indepth with their ideas. I have liked Blink for a while now, and I love all the albums, some more than others. Cheshire Cat and Buddha were the best. Dude Ranch was very good aswell, but when Enema of the State came out I think that they were trying to get into the "MTV" type listener. TOYPAJ was a maturing state, but still had some joke songs, which I liked, but when the ST album came out they really showed that they weren't all potty humor and they did have a side that really can show love and relationships well. To me, the new album is the best since CC and Buddha.

A mate of mines got all there albums, he found this the hardest to come by though. He got it for £25 today up in town, good deal i think you'll agree. We saw one for £300 on eBay, it was signed though:D
He wanted me g see them live with a few others but its on the same night as a Stoke game so i told to feck oooff!:D
I wouldn't call myself a big fan but i don't mind them, plenty worse bands...

adam's song
carousel (live)

Pre-dude ranch was good stuff too. Buddha and Cheshire Cat.
WTF. That album sucked ass! (That, as Buddha and Cheshire Cat were the same album, different labels). The new album is excellent, i'm not saying this is the case for everyone, but I sense a bit of 'I'm gonna sound cool by saying I hate new stuff and like old stuff'. I'm not accusing anyone of this, maybe you all genuinely don't like the new album, but certainely a lot of my mates at school have said such things. It's pathetic really. New album kicks ass, but Enema of the State can't be beaten.

Dude, how can you say that? Thoughs albums were really different, if you listen to one and then the other right after each other you will notice it. The albums ,CC and Buddha , were all done when they weren't well known, and I guess to me that means that they were just having fun writting songs that were fun to listen/play. The new stuff is more serious and mature. I like the new album probably the first one since Dude Ranch to tell the truth. Dude Ranch was their breakthrough record I suppose. Old stuff = fun/immature. New Stuff = Mature/and an attempt to get a new group of kids to enjoy the music.

Fun and Immature was exactly what is was. Tom and MArk sounded awful. It was shite music. Carousel and M & M's were the only good songs and even tehn, Carousel sounds better live when Mark and Tom have worked on their voices. But hey, your personal opinion is it was a better album so I respect that

Everything after Enema of The State is wank dude, if you like things after that then you may as well just listen to Good Charlotte and other Pop-punk bands. Before that album they were far more punk and had much more attitude.

Blink 182 are no more.
"US pop punk trio Blink-182 has gone on an "indefinite hiatus" with no plans to work together in the future.
Tom DeLonge, Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker aim to "spend some time enjoying the fruits of their labours with loved ones" after a decade together.
"While there is no set plan for the band to begin working together again, no-one knows what tomorrow may bring," the band's record label Geffen said."
So... what was your favourite Blink 182 song? Mine was probably either Adam's Song or Stay Together for the Kids.

"For over a decade, Blink-182 has toured, recorded and done non-stop promotion all while trying to balance relationships with family and friends.
To that end, the band has decided to go on an indefinite hiatus to spend some time enjoying the fruits of their labors with their loved ones. While there is no set plan for the band to begin working together again, no one knows what tomorrow may bring."
got it from blink182.com but that message is gone why?
Facts:
Tom Delonge, Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker are the best of friends.
They love their band.
They love music.
They love their familes and, chances are, they support the band

Barker said. "When it's time and we get our fix from our kids and we get enough quality time with our loved ones, then things will be right again and maybe we'll have a rad new Blink record."

"Blink, as far as I'm concerned, is over," Barker said. "I have the Transplants going on. I have a project going on with Mark Hoppus. It's called Plus 44, and we're recording and writing as we speak. I just kind of see that as the past. It just ran its course, and now it's time for something new and fun."

tomo1811
17-04-2005, 11:01
was gonna start a thread about this but why waste space anyway...
i was tlking to a couple of my american pals and what it seems over there is that Mark and Tom wanted different things, tom wanted to continue with blinks emotional style as perfectly captured in the last album, where as mark wanted to return back to the fun style of blink enema state kinda music. They were gonna produce a double album with both styles on but then all agreed that this could be putting Mark and Tom up against each other and decided not produce anything and end the band... i have to say tht is the best explination ive heard so far, i dont feel there was arguin jus disagreements of the next step.. wha ya think
skullverine
17-04-2005, 13:24
IMO, Tom was the one that wanted to have some quality time with his family because Mark and Travis has just started a new side project
