I'd of thought so, they're only friendlies after all. They should just be to help you get your team in shape.

I officially have a problem with co-owned teams seeing as they automatically get two votes compared ot a single owners 1...its not a big deal I just wanted everyone to notice it.
Phatmann
13-05-2005, 16:28
I am no longer Soliloquays co-manager, so I'll only be voting for him if I feel he has the best team. However I feel there have been some dodgy alliances going on, which I don't like the sound of.

Yeah "partnerships" aren't going down very well for me. Don't like the sound of it. Although, if you have a problem with it, there is 10 players in each league, if we all pair up, it evens it out.
Highway Penguin
14-05-2005, 00:17
Pair up?
lol.
You guys.... just vote and have fun.. After all it is a Fantasy league, not real life. You aren't loosing any rep for this etc.
hp , are u goin to delete off the useless choosing posts now ? they're taking a lot of space and becoming rubbish , oh yeah and why is there no draw option ?

What partnerships are you referring to - pairing up with someone else to vote for each other's team!!!??
That'll be horrendous :D
It's just for fun man, even if you're relegated you don't lose anything, except a place in the lague.

guys, this will be my last post until I come back in October. So, I'm leaving to one of the mods(FL) to take over my team.
whoever takes over my team should agree that you do not have any rights to sell/buy players.
You only have the right to change my formation
Highway Penguin
07-06-2005, 18:17
Damn, didn't see that.
I guess I can take over it....Any suggestions on the formation lads?
Oh and Yossi.
No, Fantasy League Talk Thread is for all the things relating to the FL and the Press Room was made to be used just for questions regarding matches and the squad you've got.
Oh, and why do you ask?
oh yeah , letterbomb and me have agreed to take over his team , so HP can you delete his formation's thread , cuz im helping him put up the formations. thanks

Wait what?
Sorry, I'm a bit confused here.
What I think he meant:
Letterbomb and I have mutually agreed terms so that I may take control of his team, so Highway Penguin, it would be most appreciated if you were to delete his team thread, because I am currently in the process of helping him create a new one.
Well I think it's what he's saying, judging by what he's said on other threads.

Phatmann
20-06-2005, 16:16
The thing is Hunter, HP is 7 hours behind us, so when you posted the fixtures it was 4pm where he is. Therefore, when he said he'll post it on Sundays, it could be early Monday morning for us, but still Sunday evening for HP.
Hunter, I've got a life out of PES.
If you don't want to do it don't. I didn't ask you to do dick.

You are just so ridiculous its unbelievable.
I didn't go off the rag with you and start calling you a dick.
It just shows how insecure you really are.
And no its not Father's Day today.
And I do have spare time you know, on Fathers Day people don't sit on there fathers laps for 24 hours, if they do then they need a life.
The only reason you're haveing a go at me for posting up the Fixtures is that you want all the Power and Control so you can look like the Head Chief.

As Phat said, I'm not in the same time-zone. When you are on I may be asleep. Relax next time.
Sunday = Father's Day in the States. Yesterday = Sunday.
I've got every right to call you a 'dick' for what you said.
Now, get off my back and don't post the fixtures again. I've got it undercontrol.
So don't worry about it anymore.
Ps- This is the second time you did it, that's why I got mad. You had no reason to.

You have a right to get mad, but calling me a 'dick' was just silly and not-needed what so ever, so no you shouldn't have called me a 'dick'.
If you read my post, it says its Not Fathers Day 'Today'.
PS. Last week you couldn't do them and I was asked to do them so this is the first time I've done them without questioning.

Hunter- Sunday I was at work and with my father, that's why I wasn't putting them up until later, i.e. 9:00pm for me. This is why you think that I was late. Which I wasn't. In regard to calling you a 'dick' it was because of what you said "Jesus Christ get your stuff sorted" when I had nothing to get sorted, because I wasn't late.
That's the point, you did it without questioning. I don't think you should have done it. I was going to do it, they come on when I've found 10 minutes on my Sunday afternoon. It won't kill you to wait for them now will it?
Colt- You asked him to do it yesterday? Or last time? Because if it was yesterday, then I see no point in him getting like he did towards me...?
Colt Python
21-06-2005, 19:23

I'd like to take this time to announce something. HP and i had an agreement earlier in the season that he would trade Ricardo Oliveira with me in the transfer window of mid-season. It seems the young man forgets easily and while we were having a little chat on msn in which i patiently tried to refresh his memory, he got a headache and promptly signed off( or blocked me). I find it amusing coming from someone that wants you all to PM him your deals so as to make sure everyone keeps their word. HP, i know you have recieved an offer from a rat, i might say, that knew very well that this deal was on the works. I do not want to cause dissent or bother anyone more than necessary (this is just a game after all) but i just thought it would be fair for everyone to know what i know. As for HP and Rat, i hold no grudges against any of you, children, but please stop refering to me as brotha, buddy, pal or 'my man' because we are not nor ever will be any of these things to each other. Have a nice day.
Guillermo
23-06-2005, 17:24
Don't be so harsh Muad, Vic has a very bad memory. And rat?
Harsh. That is nowhere near harsh. Besides, why are you defending him? Memory has nothing to do with this. I was merely being sarcastic. The guy gave me his word, enfatically i might add, at the time and now he wants to back away from the deal. Simple as that. He even tried to insinuate that he only said he would loan him to me. But lets just leave it at that. I'm not interested in discussing this anymore than necessary. Ive said my piece and he can say his if he wishes. I wont answer, so as not to take this too far, as long as he does not disrespect me or make extremely exagerated lies, and this incident will be buried and definitely not forgotten. After all its his word againts mine.
As for the sneaky one that i refered to as rat, which may not be the best way to describe a backstabber, he knows who he is. I got nothing more to say to him.
Guillermo
23-06-2005, 19:46
OK then, although I don't really consider rats as backstappers, I call them pyschos.

I dunno, it could just be my area.
PS-
Hunter, sorry about the 'dick' thing, I was just a little wound up.

Wow, Muad. I love the fact that you are being so damn mature.
I'll tell you why I told you that. So you'd stop whinning. You sent me your list of players asking for my opinion. Saying you'd like my help etc. I was fine with that, thinking you knew I was also picking. Anyways, who wasn't interested in Oliveira in D2. He's a top scorer left over from the D1 rounds. I left a lot of the players for you too might I add. I have no obligation to do anything for you because of two things.
1- You and I discussed this 2 months ago and I completely forgot about a deal that was so thin in the realistic aspect.
2- You made this post which shows you really could care less if you got him.
Ps- Memory has a lot to do with this. I'm done. Good luck getting Oliveira from me and Itachi at this point.
P.s.s- Alrihgt, cool Hunter. :)
Whine? I reminded you once.
1- You and I discussed this 2 months ago and I completely forgot about a deal that was so thin in the realistic aspect.
Thank you, I rest my case. That means that you gave me your word lightly just to shut me up. Nice.
2- You made this post which shows you really could care less if you got him.
I stopped caring the moment i realized you were avoiding the subject. So dont try to turn shit around. And do not bring Uchiha into this because he has got more honour, integrity and class than you have shown.
Now i'm done.

First, why the hell would you make a move for Oliveira and offer HP 30 mill for him when you knew perfectly well that he had told me he would transfer him to me?

Just what the hell are you talking about? Stay out of this. The principle of the matter remains, something which you obviously fail to notice. The reason i lost my temper with these too gentlemen is because its the second time they pull a stunt of this kind.
I realize some of you may dislike me after this outburst but somehow the alternative, which would be shuting the fuck up and keeping this to myself, wasnt really satisfying. What can i say, im not perfect.

Look. All i did was exercise my right to show outrage at someone that went back in a deal with me (he claims to have forgotten). This is the friggin press room and in my view it was made for this sort of thing. If in the process i called someone names that were uncalled for then i apologize. But their actions remain, in my opinion, ungentlemanly, which to a few of you may not mean a thing but to yours truly it means a whole lot.

James suggested it, though it may have been in jest, to have manager interviews, so all credit is due to him. Anyways, basically we'll interview a manager each week or so asking them questions about the league and their life, just to get a better feel for who they are and what not. Sound ok?
So who would like to be the first to be interviewed?

It would be hard to locate then?
Keyser Soze
23-04-2006, 14:16
It would be hard to locate then?
If anything it would be easier as it is a sticky...
But they could make the interview thread a sticky
So they would have as a sticky: Manager Interviews, with the interviews all in there
Scarface
23-04-2006, 16:08
But there's no point in so many threads being sticky's when there's not a great need, it makes the forum messy. I think this thread should be merged with the Press room, as for a thread which is supposed to have such high importance, it really doesn't offer much, and a 'Press room' gives the impression of containing managers interviews, match previews, reviews and such. They could also be copied and pasted into team threads if people wanted them there also.
You could also organise an interview yourself or with a fellow manager, you wouldn't always need myself or Victor to interview you, although we hope to be doing them regularly.

I don't know if it's been mentioned, I think it would be a good idea to split the Press Room in to 3 division.
Sure, I'm in. :)

Rosicky To Czech In At RCA?
http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/41675000/jpg/_41675020_rosicky203.jpg
Fabio Capello has been linked with a big money move for highly rated playmaker, Tomas Rosicky, and is a known admirer of the Galaxy FC star. With Xabi Alonso and Cesc Fabregas already in the club's ranks, it's questionable where the Czechoslovakian would fit in, but Capello has not moved to end speculation. When asked if he planned on bringing Rosicky in, the wily veteran answered "We are looking at many different options, but it is not our policy to talk about press speculation. I have been given significant funds by the board to strengthen where I feel necessary, and we will sign 3 or 4 players in the summer, with 2 of them being midfielders, but the names shall not be revealed as of yet." With Rosicky finding it hard to break into the Galaxy FC lineup, he is rumoured to be growing in frustration, and looking for a move elsewhere. Rosicky refused to comment on the speculation, instead preferring to concentrate on his immediate future at Galaxy.
The media's been stirring things up again
David Trezeguet looking to move on, hoping to land at Stade Gerland?
http://img117.imageshack.us/img117/310/prodavidtrezeguet5un.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
In the most recent events of transfer talks, Lyon coach Gerrard Houllier is determined to secure the services of French international David Trezeguet. It is said that the Lyon faithful miss his presence and that they would prefer him even over Shevchenko, who may be used to lure David back to Stade Gerland. When approached by the media regarding on bringing Trezeguet or not, Houllier promptly replied "Nothing is confirmed, but David is a player that we really adore here and him to come back will be something special. Like I said though, nothing is confirmed yet and these are mere speculations". Then asked about Shevchenko, Houllier said "Andriy is a fantastic talent, no doubts. The thoughts of him leaving are simply rumours. But there are many other options, options we are willing to take". Trezeguet seems to be a very top priority.
David Villa also linked with Lyon, will he be looking to move on aswell?
http://img117.imageshack.us/img117/9904/343822mediumsquare8nj.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
Spanish hitman has been recently linked with French team Alizee Lyonnais FC. There has been no real talks yet officialy, but it is believed that Lyon's board has already approached David and have enquired about him. Whether it is be a big money move or a trade, even the possibility of trading some special stars from Lyon, is yet to be seen.
Franck Ribery staright swap involved with Joaquin Sanchez?
http://img130.imageshack.us/img130/9500/41172904ribery2037le.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
Rumours has it that French wing wizard may be tempted with a move back to France despite his fair chances in the RCA first team. Franck has made a huge impact before his move to London, and he is expected to do more after the World Cup with the French national team. Surely his value will rise and he will become more of a star, someone Lyon are deeply interested in. The offer? A possible move for Spanish talented winger Joaquin Sanchez going the other way. No one knows though if this is true or simply rumours.
Over the past weeks, Lyon have also been keeping close tabs on Bel Air playmaker Francesco Totti, Rangers' Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Minof's Brazilian Ace Adriano, RCA French King Henry, and most recently Galaxy star Cristiano Ronaldo.
From Lyon's side, it seems that the players in are all available for talks.

"No-one's place is safe"
AFC Chelsea manager has made it known that he is in search of an attacking midfielder. Hiddink, who has recently been appointed of the newly-formed club said: "We've got a talented set of players here with a great mix of personalities who should gel well together as a group. The only real thing we lack is a real playmaker to play behind the front two, and hopefully I can rectify that in the next transfer window." Hiddink also revealed he is in talks with several managers looking to bring some more fresh faces in for the in-coming season. Hiddink went on to say: "Overall, I'm happy with the team and hope to be challenging for silverware by next season, no doubt. Our striker-force is fantastic with Vincenzo (Iaquinta), Tavano, Johnson and Fabiano all challenging for a place in the side." Guus Hiddink then hinted a possible deal for an attacking midfielder: "Who knows, maybe there will be some changes to the front-line. I could consider exchanging one of them (strikers) for a play-maker. Who knows? No-one's place is safe at the moment, anything could happen transfer-wise between now and next season."

Hamann Out, Senderos In?
http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/315/hamann0tr.jpg
Hamann has not played for Asgard United since Clough became manager
German midfielder Dietmar Hamann has spoken of his discontment with life under contract with Asgard United and in doing so has opened the door for a summer move.
Having spent time on loan with two different clubs this term, the vastly experienced midfield ace is understandably concerned about his prospects at his current club. In an interview with Die Welt, Hamann is quoted as saying 'Whilst I have a friendly relationship with him [Clough] I wouldn't say I feel comfortable at Asgard. The players and fans alike are fantastic but my loan spells this season, whilst being at better clubs, are a clear sign that I am not valued as I should be.'
Such a point is hard to argue with, as Clough himself has stated, 'Dietmar is a great player with huge experience but with the introduction of Marcos Senna, I deemed it to be too difficult to keep Dietmar at the club this season. We'll sit down and talk soon but at this time I can give no assurances that he will be ours next season.'
...
In other news, Philippe Senderos has announced that he is extremely keen to secure a permanent transfer to Asgard United.
http://img226.imageshack.us/img226/5025/senderos3hx.jpg
Senderos has been impressive this term for Asgard and hints at permanent stay
The young Swiss has looked an assured presence at the back this season since his move from Racing Club Avenido, with fans and neutrals alike heaping significant praise upon the young centre back.
In an interview with Asgard Online TV, Senderos gave a hint as to his intentions, 'I like Asgard United a lot. The players around me are fantastic, helping me to learn. The faith that the manager has placed in me has really helped to develop my game.'
The positives for Asgard fans continued as Senderos went on to confirm his desire for a permanent move, 'At Avenido I am in great company, but I do not get enough games. Although I train with great players, there is only so much I can learn from training. At Asgard I play alongside other great players, not only in training but in the big games too.'

An upset Lisbon Lion fan grieves
--June 11, 2006--
Derry, Ireland Although only at the helm of the Lisbon Lions ship for a few months his impact was felt and noticed throughout the world. Charlie9 brought respectability back to the Lions after it all seemed lost in the beginning of the season, bringing in such stars and fan favorites as John Terry, Didier Drogba, and Allessandro Del Piero.
In a shocking move Charlie9 went against his earlier word of sticking out his contract, Charlie9 announced today that he will be stepping down as manager of the Lisbon Lions effective immediately. Charlie then went on to announce that he would be taking a position with Division 2 promotion fighters Merseyside USA. The position is being titled "Lead Advisor in Player Personel." His actual responsibilities in this new position are currently unknown.
"I am just streched out too thin these days," Charlie9 said at an emotional press conference. "When I'm not working, I'm either sleeping or having sex, and I need more time for sex. I am looking forward to working shorter hours while still helping the Yanks gain promotion."
In a prepared statement from the Lisbon Lions board members they said, "We respect Charlie9's unrelenting sex-drive and understand that he is a man that can not be stopped from finding his place of true happiness in the world. We are thankful for everything he did for the Lions and we realize we worlds ahead of where we are before he got here. We hope we can continue the winning attitude that he instilled with the Lions players and fans and we are taking the search for a replacement as we speak."
When read this passage at the press conference Charlie9 choked back tears and could only muster, "I will never forget the Lisbon Lions, but I have to do what I have to do...no pun intended."

Cheating In The FL, Again... ?
These last few weeks has seen two cheaters be caught out on dodgy voting in their matches for their teams to gain an advantage over other managers. Despite only being given a little points deduction, and some transfer cash taken away, they still remain in the league... Cheaters will be tolerated it seems.
In my opinion, neither manager wouldve came clean about it if they hadnt of been caught, despite their claims that they would have. Both managers have since 'learned the errors of their way'.
Being told that a manager had been PMing other manager to ask them to vote in their games was something that outraged me, especially as I just played the team of the cheater, a manager told me of the manmager who Pm'd and asked for his vote, but before I could come clean, the manager had been alread found out for the dirty cheat he is... Cheat to win? Someone is a Eddie Gurrero fan.
Cheating should be dealt with seriously and shouldnt give the benefit of the doubt to someone who has been around for ages, if cheaters are caught they should be removed and put at the back of the waiting list.
Tho nothin quite yet can be proved, cheating still goes on in the FL...

~ Disillusioned Pirlo Seeking Escape Route ~

- Pirlo: Out of favour -
Impressive performances during Andrea Pirlo's half-season at defending league champions GWP prompted Galaxy to swap him for Xabi Alonso, giving GWP £30m as well to seal the deal. He guided Galaxy to third place in the league, and followed up his fine contributions this season. But in recent months, rising star Tomas Rosicky, a signing from Newton Heath involving Joe Cole and cash, has snatched his place in the starting eleven, often relegating Pirlo to the substitutes' bench.
'I'd been playing we regularly for the past one season and suddenly I've lost my place. It is frustrating to watch cup games from the bench when I deserve to be out there playing.' The AC Milan and former Internazionale star declined to comment on his future, preferring to concentrate on the month-long World Cup tournament, where he is a first choice international midfielder for Italy.
However, Galaxy manager Jose Mourinho said, 'Andrea is a very important player for the team. There is no way we are going to sell him or other first team members.'
Pirlo and his agent have recently been photographed in meetings involving members another Division 1 club. Gossip columns have not been short of transfer rumours either, with some articles having gone as far to suggesting that the deep-lying playmaker is already certain to leave the club at the end of the season, to an anonymous destination.

I'd think this is bad news if it weren't for Preki considering leaving. hahaha.
To be honest with you, most D3 managers are looking pretty naff. The prospect of them moving in to a real team is actually scary. However we need to give them time to prove themselves, then boot them out when, sorry if, they dissapoint us.
This is a tricky time, with no defined transfer rules yet and a lack of quality managers to fill spaces, but I'm sure next season will be a blinder. ;)
EDIT: It's also pretty good now to be fair. In D2 at least.

Division 3 was rushed. We should have waited until we found 6-8 members who we felt sure would be good contributers, rather than it being a first come, first served basis, but never mind, all is not lost. There are positives to come out of the process so far. arsenalboy and cali clown, who a lot of people were quick to write off, have shown signs of being good managers, and there's others who certainly can be. If some do not improve once next season begins, they can easily be replaced. I have 4 or 5 good alternatives lined up, who i'm confident are capable of taking a role in any league, so that's no problem.
As for the transfer rules, everything said in the announcements thread still stands. The only thing left now is to determine how far above and below the transfer values we can bid, I think it will be around 40-50%, and the full player transfer values will be posted soon. I need to speak to Victor on msn about it, as it's too difficult via pm's, but hopefully it'll be sorted out over the weekend, and reinforcements, if necessary.

Sweet, I hadn't seen that post in the announcements thread. Looks good.
I still want to see a limit on how many players a team can own though. There are certain clubs that have too greater monopoly on good/promising players, in my opinion.

this is gonna kill transfers. I guarantee there will be virtually no deals done with this pricing nonsense. I say cut the amount of money floating around and keep it an open market.

If you just cut the finances, you'd surely have to do it by percentage. That would mean that although everyone has less, the gap between rich and poor will remain the same. So I dont really think that'd work mate.

well those with money earned it, but it will make each dollar more valuable which will result in more life-like bids for players.
Then we should reduce the prize money substantially and heavily punish the relegated squads.

I guarantee the transfer window will be active. The only pricing nonsense is the current transfer system. The market will be open enough, the values will not be set in stone, but there will be restrictions to make the transfers more life-like and interesting.

Chris, the price aren't ment to determine how much you must pay for a player, they are simply guidelines to make the transfers a bit more logical. It will hopefully end the nonsense trades that are making the league a lot less fun. I'd like to try and bring back the things that originally made the league popular and enjoyable, for some reason we're losing too many managers because of the lack of fun.
Anyways, James we need to speak on MSN.

In some cases, not all.
I think the new rules will certainly reduce the likelihood of managers taking advantage of others, while retaining an openness that keeps things fun and interesting. If that turns out to be wrong we'll just have to tweak things.
I also like this idea, price tags to be more realistic. I think FM2006 is also a good way to base the players tag prices. I'm not trying to act childish here, but someone like Mertesacker costs realistically 7m, but not 15 or 20m. If you get what I mean.

True, but was he not 28m for Juve though? Something well over 20m. A class keeper can seperate you from a very good team into a great team IMO, but it's a shame the quality of keepers seem to go un-noticed in the league usually when it comes to voting.

Ribery with compatriot, Thierry Henry
With recent speculation linking Franck Ribery with a move away from Racing Club, the club have moved to end the constant rumours.
At a press conference today, Fabio Capello and Franck Ribery were in attendance, in an attempt to put the issue to rest.
"Franck is not for sale at any price. He is a fundamental part of our future, and it'd be a foolish to let him go. I have received numerous offers for him, but all have been rejected, and we do not encourage any further bids for him" Capello stated.
Franck Ribery continued, "After a lot of hard work, I am now the first choice right winger at this wonderful club. I am working with many world class players, in a world class team that is attempting to win back to back championships, and playing some great football. I've spoken to Mr Capello, and I can see nothing but positive things from this club in the future. Why would I want to leave?"
In related news, Fabio Capello would not comment on suggestions that Joe Cole is likely to move to the defending champions. Last week, the Italian manager claimed that Cole is a summer target for the club, but today would not comment any further on the statement.

Clough Targets Eidur
http://www.teamtalk.com/Images/60183.jpg
Gudjohnsen has been the target of much interest in previous weeks
In an exciting development, it has emerged that Asgard United have sealed the purchase of Offside Athletic's versatile forward, Eidur Gudjohnsen.
The talented Icelandic forward has had an up and down season and has previously stated his desire to gain first team football. It was only a week or so ago that reports emanating from Boston, USA, stated Merseyside USA manager Steve Nicol was a keen admirer of the player. Reports from Reuters a few days later indicated the deal was nearing completion.
However earlier today a BBC photographer obtained images of Gudjohnsen making a visit to Asgard United's training ground. The shots, expected to enter circulation in tomorrows tabloids, clearly show the Offside Athletic star in a happy mood both upon his arrival and departure from the training ground.
In a press conference earier today, intended to reflect on the teams confident weekend display, manager Clough was quizzed about Gudjohnsen and had this to say: 'Although I'm not happy about this story being leaked so early into the season, I have little choice but to announce that after a long standing interest in the player, we have secured his services.'
Clough would not go into the details of the deal but it is widely believed that Gudjohnsen will come in as part of a trade deal seeing Roque Santa Cruz moving to Offside Athletic.

Athletic de Bilbao you mean?
:)
Anyways, I want to do a bit of a rant real quick. We are in week 12 or so and people are already doing transfers. What is this? There is plenty of time during the transfer period to do transfers and you get more money during those periods as it is when people are looking to buy. I am not selling any of my players or buying any until the window opens. I know it will hurt me, but I find it ridiculous to be dealing right now. We are no where near the opening of the window and deals are pretty much just words for the time being as either party can pull out if they want. I could sell my entire team and then at the last minute cancel it. It also kills the transfer period when it does come. Since all these prior deals are done, there isn't as much activity, which defeats the purpose of the window as you are given weeks to complete moves. You can argue that there still will be transfers, but who will want to trade players they just got? After all they did spend some time aquiring them. The window is already semi-static and these early deals are only going to increase its deadness.
I made a few contacts a couple days ago only to find out the players were already sold. That's nearly 10 weeks before the window opens. :shocking:
This is a free market league, so you can do as you please, but I think the early deals are going to hurt the month to 2 months we have off for break and it's irritating as hell finding so many players already sold.

Well considering the new transfer rules, is there any point on us doing deals right now? Half of them might be ludicris deals which we have seen so many of the past season.
If i'm being honest, the transfer rules right now are pathetic and that's a reason why i don't find this fun anymore. So if we do deals right now for next season that would be disregarding the new transfer rules in a way. If we were all to wait until the new season, when the new rules are up and running, and then we began, there certainly would be alot of deals flying about the place, which would make it alot more interesting. So far, the only deal i've seen that will fall well short of the rules is £45m for Jerome Rothen. Clough Questions New Look Transfers
http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/1920/clough7vq.gif
Brian Clough has made public his concerns regarding the new system
The following is an excerpt from an interview with Asgard Online TV:
'One thing that does concern me about the new transfer rules is this; Is there going to be a rule that enforces a limit, not only on how much a player is sold/traded for, but also how little? I get the feeling from what has been said by FIFA, that any deals deviating too much from the valuations will be stopped.
If, and I say if, this is the case then I must say that I am totally against it. The primary purpose of the new rules is, in my opinion, not simply to make prices more realistic but to protect managers from exploitation, thus bringing back some honour and good will in to the transfer system.
In my opinion, anyone wishing to sell/trade a player for less than his value, in terms of cash or player, should be allowed to do so. If a manager has a player that he doesn't like or value, or he just wants to make some room in his squad, then a reduced price deal surely demonstrates that there is a little more honour in the market, something that it has lacked at times.
If I've miss-interpreted anything then all I can say is oops.'

Sepp Blatter responds to enquiry over new transfer policy
One thing that does concern me about the new transfer rules is this; Is there going to be a rule that enforces a limit, not only on how much a player is sold/traded for, but also how little?
Not to begin with, but if the new guidelines are exploited, such rules will be put in place.
Jack Warmer (Fifa Vice President) and I have discussed this, and feel it's best to keep the transfer activity an open market, in so much you will not be forced to bid within certain set fees, although the player values should not be ignored. They have a purpose, and should act as guidelines.
We reserve the right to cancel a deal, if it's deemed unfair/unacceptable. We hope to not have to cancel many deals, if any at all. Aslong as everyone is sensible and uses some common sense, there shouldn't be many problems.
We request that further talk on the new transfer rules be put on hold. The confirmed rules will be announced this weekend, so everyone will have a full understanding of it then.

Bianchi has been left stunned at the shocking news, but is said to be holding out for close to a staggering £46m record deal for the wonderkid, which will enable the promotion contenders the funds to strengthen other areas of the team. Bianchi refused to comment on the issue, but was seen looking fuming in a local pizzeria.

Decision Time For Senderos
http://www.4thegame.com/media/00/02/91/senderos_philippe_afc_profile_ 2005.jpg
Senderos will make decision on future within 14 days
Swiss ace, Phillipe Senderos, will make a decision on which club to join, within the next 14 days, he revealed earlier tonight. Having attracted attention from a number of clubs, in both Division 1 and 2, "Big Phil" is close to making a decision on his future. Having spent a successful season at promotion contenders, Asgard FC, and with two-time League champions, Racing Club Avenido looking to strengthen their defence further, it was thought Senderos would stay put for at least another season. However, after being told he would not play any part in the final three games of the domestic season, the 20 year old centre-back was said to be both shocked and disappointed at the snub. This has led to rumours that Senderos would prefer a move to a top division club, to truly test himself amongst the worlds best strikers. He had this to say in a Fifa press conference earlier this evening, not doing much to either deny or support the latest rumours:

"I have had a great season at Asgard FC, and it fills me with great pride that I have earnt so much praise and recognition. I have to admit that I am disappointed not to be playing any part in the crucial run-in, which may affect both my future and Asgard FC's. I feel the manager may be making a mistake both he and the club might come to regret, but while we still have a chance of promotion, there is hope. I do owe a lot to the manager for giving me my chance, and I both respect and thank him for that.
My aim is to test myself against the world's best strikers, and that usually means playing for a club in the top division. Whether that leads to me returning to Racing Club Avenido, staying with Asgard, or joining another team, I do not know yet, but I have been contemplating my future a lot recently, having received a number of offers, and I will make my final decision within the next fortnight."
Reyes, I have one question, is that Messi transfer going through?
Because that is pretty dodgy with the new transfer rules

Do you really think Nedy would sell Messi? ;)
Messi's valuation shouldn't be far off that, but i'm sure Nedy has no interest in selling his key man.
I don't think Messi is worth 46 million, sorry reyes, thats abit overvalued if you ask me

Considering he's been linked for over 50m, his age and raw talent; it's not. And I don't see how many can argue that it is, in contrast to today's transfers.

Haha, you right James, you right.
Nice article anyway ;)

`Le Sulk' will be expected to bang in the goals for Chelsea
Reports have suggested a deal is on the table between DFS and AFC Chelsea, where Dubai Faithfull are said to be showing the door to hard-working Massimo Ambrosini, stubborn Frenchman Nicolas Anelka and defensive rock Frank Baumann. The first deal struck is a huge one which is said to be; 3m, Anelka and Ambrosini heading to AFC Chelsea with Andy Johnson and Bresciano off to Dubai. The second deal included hardman Baumann, who was swapped with Swedish centre-back Olof Mellberg and 3m from Sheed's huge pocket given to AFC Chelsea to balance the deal.

A tussle between the two players that's been involved in trade talks
Apparently, the Frenchman Claude, hailed as the 'Perfect Midfielder' has joined Alizee Lyonnais FC. With a few players from the Lyon club going to Galaxy FC in a potential big summer blockbuster deal, although this is not confirmed. Even the managers can't confirm this. Watch this space..
