Cheers guys. Had to rush to get it done before the game, but just about managed to do it in time.

GOAL Update

Alizee Lyonnais 0-1 Barry

The visitors are soon into their stride, and break the deadlock just 6 minutes into the game.

Ronaldinho shifts the ball between both feet, and passes to Eto'o, who lays it off to Jesus Navas at an acute angle on the right side of the penalty area. The pacy Spaniard darts past the inexperienced Armand Traore and fires the ball into the roof of the net from a tight angle. A perfect start for the team aiming for a third place finish.

Preki 1-0 Rafa

Just as the doctor ordered, for Steve Nicol. Sol Campbell pumps a long ball upfield which Bonera makes the fatal error of allowing to bounce, and Adriano latches onto the ball and lofts it over a stranded Marcelo Grohe. It looks like an uphill struggle for the relegation threatened side from this point, with the defensive setup being breached early into the contest.

Just read back through a load of pages and enjoyed the reading about Nikos being a cheat, again.

I think it was Mat who started me wondering about his shifty-ness, not sure thought but either way, his team will be well looked after by... Anyway, what players does he lose because of the cheating?

Top Gun

He doesn't lose any players unless he had deals already done. He will lose players when the swap occurs between the teams coming up from D2 and the ones going down from D1.

I'm guessing you might be getting his team? ;)

Nah, Im just curious ;)

I was told who he'd lose by James but I forgot who he said, but you have reminded me of the relegation rule, that entitles his squad to lose Kaka and Villa/Tevez.

The free transfer rule was scrapped at the beginning of the last transfer window. It caused more problems that it was worth, and the player swap method works much better.

"Don't Get Down..." Words of encouragement from Nicol.

http://images.worldcupblog.org/www/steve%20nicol.jpg

Manager Steve Nicol knows that it would be easy to feel sorry for his squad following their narrow miss of promotion after Joel FC gained last second victory.

"We could easily sit here and look at the past," Nicol said. "But we need to move forward and continue to improve."

With David Beckham, Alexis, and Jermaine Defoe all likely ending their spell with the squad Nicol knows there is work to be done.

"I have some moves I want to make but it is tough to see how everything is going to go right now," Nicol continued. "I think even with the squad we have we could still compete but I think we're one piece away from guaranteed promotion."

Nicol also shared some of his plans for the off-season.

"I think Lee Young Pyo played his last match for the squad," Nicol informed the media. "Hopefully he can find a better fit."

Nicol also wants to find a D3 squad to take on Gonzalo Castro.

"He's going to be a tremendous player, we saw that when he took the pitch for us this season," the manager went on. "He just needs some more seasoning, hopefully something he can find in a D3 squad."

Finally, Nicol dropped the biggest hint at a major change up.

"We want some more youth at the back. With Sol Campbell, Lillian Thurham, and John O'Shea we have plenty of experience, but maybe moving one of those three could help us get a little more athletic and explosive back there," Nicol concluded.

Golden Boy Is Silva

http://www.panorama-actual.es/archivos/imagenes/silva-jpg-ok.jpg

There have been many rumours circulating in the football world concerning the future of MBV Arkestra's Spanish starlet, David Silva. According to several sources, there has been huge interest in the 21 year-old winger. These rumours have been quashed by MBV Arkestra manager, Arsene Wenger, who said, "Silva is very happy at MBV, and neither he or his agent have indicated a desire to move", when asked during a charity event at MBV's home, Twickenham stadium. Some football pundits, however, believe Arkestra's failure to achieve promotion could result in MBV being pressured in to losing their top earners, including the influential Swede, Kim Kallstrom (pictured below).

http://www.paktribune.com/sports/imgfiles/K-Kallstrom_Sweden.jpg

David Silva has had an impressive debut season at MBV, despite only getting a regular place post-Christmas break. His introduction to the team's midfield injected an increase in creativity and a more direct style of play to the team. His impressive dribbling skills, passing and shooting abilities helped MBV score the second most amount of goals in Division 3 this season. "He would be a huge loss to the team, and to the league as a whole", commented MBV club captain Quique Alvarez. He has gained many admirers this season, and some have claimed such interest from managers in the "handsome" youngster has become rather inappropriate.

Dalglish promised class and he delivers. Juninho Pernambucano passed a medical here today at El Kop and looks to sign pen to paper within 24 hours. Juninho, a proven midfielder in Europe has won many caps with his national side and many top clubs were after the Brazilian's signature. After lengthy negotiations with Charlie, Finally a deal was struck. Juninho and Lucas Leiva (FSL) would move to Real plus £4m for Jermaine Pennant, who is making way for David Beckham, Ashley Young and finally club legend, Steve FInnan will head to de Mess on a half season loan.

Lucas Leiva, a young brazilian central midfielder claimed to be the "Brazilian Gerrard". A box to box, fierce player who won Brazilian player of the year and also captains the U20 Brazil national side. Leiva will join Verdadera on a season loan with the possibility to make it permanent.

Dalglish announced the news to the press after hours of negotiations. "We can confirm that we have met an agreement with de Messi and Juninho and Lucas will put pen to paper tomorrow evening when the window opens. I promised the fans that I would add world class to the side, in order for us to compete in the second division and I would definately say Juninho is just that. Lucas is also a major star when in Brazil. He has come in and will replace Rio Mavuba who has now left us. Hopefully these are the two of a list of signings which will be made over the coming weeks. We can also confirm David Beckham has passed a medical today."

Verdadera have now agreed terms with two of the world's best midfielders, giving way to Steve Finnan who was needed at de Messi. Real will be keen to land a striker and also a defender in the next few days, as they promise to field a strong XI next season.

Good reason to smile

An incredible improvement in the second half of the season saw Rijkaard's men move from the relegation zone up to the top 5, playing a brand of exciting football, and providing tricky opponents for anyone. When installed as manager, TG United looked doomed to relegation, but the Dutchman proved an inspiration to the club, helping them rapidly climb the table and look set for another strong season with him in charge.

Reason to be hopeful

No promotion, but an unbeaten League campaign and the start of a new era headed by Francesco Totti should help lift the gloom. Nicol managed his squad well, keeping in touching distance of the promotion places throughout and taking his team to the WCL Semi-Finals, but luck was not on the American's side this season, with a number of draws costing the team their promotion hopes, and he will hope for better fortune next season.

Division 3

Disappointing end of season, but greatness awaits

Despite being strongly tipped for the Division 3 title, MBV Arkestra ended up in 4th place - which would be deemed unacceptable by the fans - and lost the Peace Cup final against rivals Cali FC, however Wenger has built a strong squad with much promise for the upcoming seasons and deserves credit for what he has achieved thusfar.

All managers of the season have had 10m added to their transfer budget, and each manager of the month receives 3m.

Shocking but expected news arouse today from FC Cali's Football Ground that Gerard Houlliér is apparently struggling to keep hold of his talisman Forward Didier Drogba. Gerard mentioned briefly in a recent press conference that "I have had many offers for Didier. I am, of course, willing to listen to these offers but that doesn't mean I will definately negotiate. I am currently thinking about a deal, and at the moment I cannot make up my mind. This is obviously expected as Drogba can walk into any team in the whole world". Drogba has also spoken on the matter, and has recently said "I love it here at FC Cali at the moment. And if we gain promotion then I would be more then happy to stay. I don't mind where I am playing Football at the moment, as I am enjoying it too the full extent".

Simao could be sold

Nicol looks for a striker in return

http://blogs.abc.es/media/simao.jpg

Manager Steve Nicol is entertaining the idea of changing his base formation and would need another striker to complete it. The new formation would no longer need the service of wingers and Simao would be the odd man out.

"We would need to sell Simao to change but it might not be worth moving him," Nicol said. "Simao is a very valuable player so we would only make the deal for an equally spectacular player."

Didier Drogba is a player Nicol is rumored to be interested in. The star striker had a successful run with the Merseysiders earlier this season.

Pundits think the following could be what Nicol has in mind:

---------------Howard-----------------
-Ferriera----Thuram---Campbell---Riise--
----------------------------------------
----------Cocu----Hargreaves-----------
----------------Ballack------------------
----------------------------------------

The prize winnings have already been added to the transfer funds, so you have a 50m transfer budget, or 45m minus the cash you owe to TG.

So, if you were manager of the month more than once, will the £3m be increased accordingly?

Didier Drogba, just one of many targets

Real Verdadera have made a fast start in the transfer market already agreeing terms for class acts such as David Beckham, Juninho Pernambucano, Nani and Daniel Agger. However, Kenny Dalglish stated he will not be satisfied until he completes a deal for a world class striker. Original spanish reports suggested David Villa was a target but after a recent move to Joel's outfit, it rules him out. According to a reliable source. Wells and Dalglish are in deep talks with FC Cali manager, Gerard Houllier, over a possible move for Ivorian hitman Didier Drogba. Drogba is not the only name Real have been linked with! There are rumours that Dalglish has made moves for Merseyside USA's Adriano and also Joel's Luca Toni. A move for Alfonso Alves could also be on the cards.

Kenny Dalglish has classed a striker his main objective, however will look out for a right back, a defensive minded midfielder and also maybe a left back. "To be able to compete in the second division, the squad needs improving. We have acquired some fantastic talents but I am far from done." An encouraging piece of news for Verdadera fans

Di Double Signing!

http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/42142000/jpg/_42142888_cup12.jpg
Di Michele celebrates scoring for Palermo

Marcello Lippi once again pulls out a surprise signing, David Di Michele departing from FC Corleone in order to make his way across to Turin. The deal is reportedly in the region of £4m. Di Michele comes with a wealth of footballing experience, he played only two games for FC Corleone yet in both games he was part of the winning team. Plucked out of Serie B by Udinese, he also played for both Reggina and Palermo in the tp flight of Italian football.

He is noted for his pace on and off the ball, generally playing off the front man or wide. He is a technically gifted player with great technique, the ability to finish moves neatly or to rifle shots from well outside the area. He is predominantly right footed, but is capable with both, allowing him to play down either side. Just as for scoring and creating goals, from both open play and set pieces he will be a handful for any defence.

The signings don't stop there though...

http://www.dw-world.de/image/0,,1746110_1,00.jpg
Di Natale after netting for Udinese

Antonio Di Natale, Italian international, has also signed in a three year deal with LSA Originale? Lippi's presence is rumoured to be a major factor in the decision to leave Real Verdadera. If the reports drifting about each club are to be believed the deal is between £6m and £7m in value.

Di Natale's similarities with Di Michele go beyond just their names, Di Natale is also a very strong dribbler that can play out wide or behind the front man. Di Natale has all the attributes needed to play in these positions, and is a truly all round performer. He may only be 172cm in height, but a good leap makes up for that, and a surprising amount of upper body strength makes sure he isn't bullied by centre-backs!

His main strengths however are his pace, agility and reactions. Even coming from deep he can get in behind the defence to deliver a deadly cross or provide a tidy finish to a through ball. He is more than capable of playing in front of the defence however, great vision combined with neat passing make him an excellent provider for others. Yet with great technique he is certainly able to hit the net from some distance, and has been known to score from extremely wide positions.

Italian pundits are suggesting the pair are more likely to be used in a wide capacity, with Di Natale looking likely to be first choice. The versatility and class of both will be causing concern for all Division 3 full backs who will have to consider a way to prevent the pair from causig mayhem in their backline.

Experienced midfielders want out

Guus Hiddink has been left stunned today as Dutch veteran, Edgar Davids, and the creative Argentine, Juan Sebastian Veron, have demanded a move from London.

Their motives were simply because of limited first-team action at the Division 2 team. "I've told Guus in no un-certain terms where I stand. I want out" whined Davids at the press conference held earlier this morning. "Shit team anyway" moaned Veron, sourly.

Hiddink has replied in a similar fashion to the Argentine with a blunt "sad day if anyone gave a shit". Sad day indeed. Davids is up for 2m. Veron for 3m.

I cannot confirm anything yet, but I'm willing to listen to offers for Joao Moutinho, Maxi Rodriguez and Jose Jurado, be it on loan, a trade or a permanent deal. If you want to pm me an offer, I will consider them over the next few days. I won't reply to them all instantly, but I will consider them all.

Starlets Looking for a Chance to Shine

Two of Asgård United's newest sensations are likely to be loaned out for the coming campaign, reports from Asgård Online TV state. The Division Two club have always prided themselves on unearthing new talent in transfer windows, and the recent signings of Jose Sosa and Renato Augusto, certainly fit the bill.

http://img78.imageshack.us/img78/5255/josesosazd4.jpg
A big part of Argentina and Asgård plans

Argentine midfielder Sosa, 21, caught the eye of Bayern Munich while playing for Estudiantes, but it was Asgård United that acquired his signature.

At home on the right hand side of midfield, the talented youngster has not only been capped at full international level but included in Argentina's squad for this summers Copa America.

Speaking in the online interview, Brian Clough had this to say: 'There's no doubt in my mind that he will soon become a huge part of Argentina's future, along with the likes of Messi, Mascherano and Tevez. It won't be long before he's being praised every bit as much as them.'

http://img519.imageshack.us/img519/2535/renatoaugustofl7.jpg
Heavily linked with Arsenal and Lyon

The younger of the two starlets is Renato Augusto, a 19 year old attacking midfielder, not dissimilar in style to Rivaldo. Several major European clubs have been linked with the young goal scoring playmaker, but again Asgård United captured his signature.

Speaking in Brazil's oldest daily sports paper, Jornal dos Sports, Augusto had this to say: 'I am very happy to have joined this club. I know I can have a very positive impact on the squad and am raring to play. If I must go out on loan first, that's fine - I don't believe it will be long before I am playing regularly'.

Brian Clough went on to say: 'I'll most likely look to loan these guys out to begin with, but I don't imagine it'll be too long before I want them back. I invite any interested parties to make offers, but urge them to be proactive: top talents like these won't hang around.'

Inzaghi slots another home!

First it was Beckham, then Juninho and Leiva, Nani and Agger joined up with their new team mates and now another five players have joined up with the Real Verdadera squad. Yes, Real have certainly been busy in the opening few days of the transfer window. The fans expected changes, but certainly not of this calibre.

Firstly, and arguably the most important signing, Italian striker Filippo Inzaghi. El Kop needed a world class finisher as their spear head in attack and after failing with bids for Didier Drogba and also Luca Toni, Dalglish managed to land Inzaghi for a whopping £6m. It could be argued that this amount is too much for a striker who is aging, however, Dalglish stated that it isn't age which counts, it is the player's performance. Inzaghi is certainly not "past it" and with two goals in the Champions League victory for Milan, supports the hitman's claim. Real Verdadera chairman Rick Parry told press that "Inzaghi is just what the club needed, a goal scorer of the highest quality and Dalglish did very well in bringing him here." The Italian not only is a great poacher of goals but has the versatility enabling him to play alone up front and also within a pair.

Of course, Mr Inzaghi wasn't the only one making the move to El Kop yesterday! Young midfielder Jose Sosa joins the midfield ranks on a season long loan from Asgard United. Sosa will apply back up on the right side for David Beckham and is more than capable of taking on that role. Tim Cahill agreed to a permanent move sending unused Andriy Voronin with a suitcase of £2m to Norway Utd. The final two moves saw Gareth Barry join Real in a deal where Ronald Zubar went the opposite way plus £6m and finally, Verdadera managed to pick up up coming left back, Jeremy Mathieu. These two full backs signals the exit of Franck Quedrue as there seems no room to accompany three left backs. Jonathon de Guzman and Ze Roberto have been officially tranfer listed after fairly mediocre spells with El Kop..

Mark Sullivan Resigns From HeadHunters F.C

After a disapointing end to the season which saw HeadHunters miss out on promotion via a penalty shootout, manager Mark Sullivan has decided it was time to part ways with the club.

He had this to say "I've had a great time managing this club but after a disapointing end to the season I feel that it's time for me to leave. I put my all in this season and it purely wasn't good enough.

There are other reasons for why I am leaving but I dont want to discuss those now as I feel it is not the right time to do so. Im looking forward to a nice long break from managing and I shall look into my future when the time is right."

Our sources believe that player power was one of the main factors in Sullivan's exit. His refusal to allow Barzagli and Iaquinta to join bigger clubs caused major problems behind the scene and both players made clear that they would not work under Sullivan any time soon.

Management Changes

As most of you are probably aware, we have been discussing a management change with Calculus' team the past couple of days. Due to a lack of activity in the last couple of months, unfortunately we have had little choice but to replace him, though are happy to announce the promotion of Sully, who will takeover the Division 1 club with immediate effect.

Bammers05 will be taking charge of Sully's old team in Division 3, also with immediate effect.

Although Sully has experience of the League, and Bammers already has a good idea, please allow them a little time to settle in before bombarding them with offers.

Best of luck to both managers.

He was originally going to be Calculus' assistant manager, but we then realised that would be pretty difficult with Calculus not around much, and Sullivan prefers to be a lone ranger. ;)

A jubilant Massimo Ambrosini

The signings have been coming in thick and fast for LSA Originale?, it started with the aquisition of Di Michele and Di Natale on the opening day, after a pre-agreed deal for Aguero. The following day saw still more activity from Gigli, it began with the young Juventus starlet Claudio Marchisio, a special talent having played twenty six games for Juventus at just 21 years of age. His arrival saw the departure of Claudio Maldonado who failed to make an impact last term. He was later joined in midfield by Massimo Ambrosini who signed from Headhunters FC for a nominal fee of £5m. Along with Brocchi, their wealth of experience should prove of great value to both the club, and to Marchisio.

After a succesful period with LSA Liedson's future no lies elsewhere with FC Vipereffsee, after his services were relinquished for a fee of £9.5m. Liedson's departure opened the way for another big signing, Tommaso Rocchi, former MVB Arkestra striker, who signed a four year deal with the club. The final sum totaled over £8m for Rocchi, who is now looking likely to spearhead the LSA Originale? attack as Mido also departed for £4m. When asked however Gigli would not confirm that spending on strikers is finished.

The defensive line has also seen a reshuffle, Matt Taylor's loan period has finished and he has returned to Norway United as Gigli refused to meet the club's valuation of the attacking full back. The void left was quickly filled however, Lippi was keen to bring the Italian international Manuel Pasqual to Turin, from FC Inter Course. A bid of £5m was accepted, and Pasqual signed a five year deal, on a salary understood to be quite 'competitive'. Sebastiano Siviglia is the last name to join the ranks, in a quiet deal for the small fee of £1.5m.

There were other departures however, Enzo Maresca's long expected move came when FC Vipereffsee paid £8.5m for his services. Lippi had only good words to say about Maresca in his departure and wished him all the best for his career. Centre-back Felipe's departure, while also expected, was not so amicable. He found himself confinded to the bench for the majority of his time under Lippi and was informed he was surplus to requirements at the Stadio Olimpico. He moved on to FC Cali for £7m, as they look to prepare for life in Division 2.

Marcello Lippi is scheduled for a press conference some time early in the next week, where will perhaps learn more of his intentions for the rest of the window. For now things are looking positive at the Olimpico and fans are sure to be pleased with some excellent signings.

Two of the biggest captures in LSA history!

http://www.wldcup.com/pictures/wld2006/0606/pic141.jpg
hernan Crespo scores for Argentina against arch-rivals Brazil

Today, to much surprise from the footballing community, Hernan Crespo signed a three year contract with LSA Originale?. A deal, involving recently signed Gionatha Spinesi going the other way along with a cash payment, saw Crespo snatched from under the nose of other interested teams.

Crespo has had a succesful tenure at Clockwork Orange and joins LSA in high spirits, his goal poaching instincts, off the ball movement and aerial threat are sure to result in a bundle of goals in Division 3. President of LSA, Gigli, has reportedly indicated that while the spending is not completely over, there is unlikely to be a great deal of new faces arriving after this big name striker.

However before Crespo's arrival, two other names were confirmed as LSA players for next season. Firstly David Pizarro formerly of Newton Heath FC, Pizarro arrives with a wealth of Division 1 experience that should come in useful, especially if LSA Originale? are to push for promotion this term. Pizarro is expected to be starter alongside Massimo Ambrosini or Christian Brocchi in central midfield.

He may not be as combative as his fellow midfielders but makes up for that with technical ability, he is a gifted passer of the ball and has a nack for creating space for himself to pick out his passes. Pizarro will sure to be looking to get the ball down the flanks to the likes of Di Natale and Aguero, ore perhaps sliding one through for the ever dangerous Crespo or the battling Tommaso Rocchi.

Zdenek Grygera may be wishing he'd delayed his transfer, for unfortunately he signed for LSA on the same day as two huge summer transfers. That doesn't lessen his impact what so ever, for an initial fee of £1m, that will increase to £3m come the end of the season, he will certainly strengthen the backline considerably. He is strong, confident and experienced at every level, having received nearly forty caps for the Czech Republic. He is most comfortable at right back, but his versatility allows him to play centre-back and defensive midfield to a high standard.

Only one or two more signings are expected in the media, but LSA have so far managed to surprise everyone with their signings.. will it continue?

Merseyside USA get active in window

Recap neccesary after flurry of bold moves by Nicol

One of the things Merseyside USA manager Steve Nicol said he wanted to avoid was a major turnover in personel on a squad that missed promotion by two points. His main concern was improving depth. With his first five players brought in it is clear that he is sticking to his gameplan.

http://newsfromrussia.com/images/newsline/300268_MEDIUMSQUARE.jpeg
Timmy Simons-DMF

A clear need for Merseyside USA was to improve their quality at the center of the pitch. Having seen Clint Dempsey and Gonzalo Castro, two natural right-sided players, perform in the center of the pitch it was clear the Yanks needed a few good men. Timmy Simons is one of them.

Simons has been a workhorse in every midfield he's ever been a part of. He has World Cup experience with Belgium and has a close personal relationship with Merseyside stalwart Philip Cocu. This chemistry could be very important in Simons holding off the other competitors for his roster spot.

Julian De Guzman-DMF, RB, RMF & Jonathan De Guzman-RMF

After acquiring the services of the young and very talented Jonathan De Guzman, Nicol decided to bring in his versatile older brother Julian to help the young starlet settle.

Nicol is expected to look to loan out the younger Guzman which could spell the end of the elder's tenure with the Yanks. However, those close to the team have been impressed with the versatility of Julian De Guzman and his very high workrate. It is likely that Julian De Guzman will need to out perform Timmy Simons in the friendlies to make the squad. There is also a slight chance that Julian De Guzman could make the squad as a right back but with so much talent in front of him it is doubtful.

Jo-ST & Roberto Soldado-ST

When Roberto Soldado's signing was announced earlier this week many thought that the Yanks were all set with strikers in their side. Soldado has been the owner of a great goal scoring record no matter where he has played.

The young talent that is João Alves de Assis Silva or Jô as he is referred to was apparently too much for Nicol to pass up for this season. He signed the aspiring goal scorer to full season loan deal. Jô is considered one of the bright young strikers in football.

The signing of Jô, however, has soured the attitude of Roberto Soldado as he assumed he would be given full reign of the third, if not second striker ahead of the incumbent Aruna Dindane. This turmoil has sprouted rumors that Soldado could end up at Lucentum Club de Fútbol.

Ze Roberto-LMF, CMF

This window has seen the Merseysiders' average age drop considerably but as everyone has seen when Nicol sees a veteran player who can doa job come available he will jump at the opportunity.

Ze Roberto will be expected to back up Simao Sambrosa at left midfield or start at the left wing and allow Simao to play on the right wing, a position that has caused much concern with pundits this off-season.

Ibrahim Sonko-CB & Andre Bikey-CB, RB

Ibrahim Sonko and Andrew Bikey have both played together in the past and their chemistry could go along way to making this squad. It was once believed that Nicol would only keep one between Sonko and Bikey but Bikey's aptitude thus far in practice at right back has put both Julian De Guzman's job in jeopardy but has also solidified the backline where Paulo Ferriera has been out of form.

Mark Viduka in action for Aussies!

Australian powerhouse striker Mark Viduka was released before the awaiting press yesterday after putting pen to paper to join Real Verdadera on a three year deal.

"We have been watching Mark for some time now and we actually enquired about him whilst Mark Sullivan was in charge! He seemed pretty keen on keeping him. Then we heard the news that he was being replaced, so we waited behind the scenes to see what was going on. We managed to snatch Mark right at the last minute, the same thing which happened to us with Hernan Crespo, but that's football and you have to deal with things like this." Kenny Dalglish, Verdadera boss, tells Menorcan media.

Viduka paraded the El Kop with the no. 10 shirt, formerly Vagner Love's last season, does that signal an exit for the former CSKA striker? However, it needs no worry for now. Viduka was ecstatic after agreeing the terms of contract. "I was aware of interest for me, but when I heard the Real Verdadera were after me I could not refuse. It's a chance to work with Jack Wells, Rick Parry and Kenny Dalglish and the major factor is second division football. I feel that I can really excel in a team with major class in it."

Dukes wasn't the only one making an entrance in the second week of the transfer window. Versatile defender, Tomas Ujfalusi, made the swap from Merseyside USA for a deal worth £1m + Ze Roberto and Jonathan De Guzman. Ujfalusi can play in all positions around the back four and will give Verdadera a utility player which was very much needed. "We fought off strong interest to sign Tomas and we believe he has a job to do for us and we want him to be a major factor next season.".

After the resignation of Sully, fans didn't have to wait long until a new manager came in, in the form of Bammers05, formerly an assistant manager to Calculus at Green Army.

Bammers was quick to bring in some new players, the most notable of which was Espanyol striker Raul Tamudo, who came in to boost the teams firepower up front, along with him came a

But not all of the transfer activity was players coming to Dial Square, in fact, Willy Sagnol's transfer was as part of a trade with Charlie: 9, which also saw 6m come Dial Square's way, while talented Chelsea midfielder Jon Obi Mikel went to Golazo de Messi FC. Also departing was Australian forward

Mark Viduka, rumoured to be unhappy with the transfer of Raul Tamudo, which could see him thrown out of the 1st eleven. He went to Real Verdadera, for a deal which saw Verdadera give Dial Square 4m now with another 3m soon to come.

As for future transfers, Bammers has said that he wants to bring in some wingers and perhaps a commanding central midfielder. He is also expected to name a captain in the next few days.

SENNAsational News

Marcos Senna was officially unveiled as the captain of MBV Arkestra earlier today. The new summer signing has been wearing the hallowed red and white armband during recent friendlies, and his leadership qualities have impressed manager Arsene Wenger. "He [Senna] has been a great inspiration to the other player, so far", Wenger explained. "He's not only guided his teammates well, but he has also led by example."

Senna leaves the press conference pleased with his new role.

Senna was absolutely overjoyed with his new role as club captain, replacing the recently released Quique Alvarez. "I am happy to have this opportunity", said Senna during the press conference. "I will try my hardest to do as good a job possible for the other players, the manager, the club and for the fans. I am determined to lead MBV to the title and D2."

Senna was signed as part of a deal which saw himself, Eidur Gudjohnsen and Christian Wilhelmsson (both pictured below) arrive at Twickenham Stadium from Asgård Utd, with David Silva and Sulley Muntari heading in the opposite direction.

Defence is strengthened as new faces arrive!

http://www.thethaovietnam.com.vn/Library/Images/11/2006/10/11-10/Kakha%20Kaladze.jpg
Kaladze at press interview

LSA Originale? have announced the signings of two new faces, however the media see the two signings as drastically different. Twenty-nine year old Kakhaber Kaladze has signed a four year deal with LSA, after a swap deal with Clockwork Orange that sees Stefano Fiore and Sebastiano Siviglia going in the opposite direction. Kaladze has had interest from a number of clubs but after long negotiations he agreed terms with the Turin club.

In a press conference, scheduled to unveil him to the public, Kaladze clued the press into his motives for dropping down to a Division 3 side; 'I feel that LSA Originale? are building a squad here, they have ambitions that I share. I do expect to be a Division 2 player once again... we know it's going to be difficult, but I'm willing to do everything I can to make it happen and I know everyone else here will do the same. We all have a goal here and hopefully we can make the fans happy!'

When questioned he said; 'Of course there was no bad blood between me and Clockwork Orange, it just happened that our interests split. I was no longer in their plans as a club. I cant hold it against them, I enjoyed my stay there but football is like that sometimes. We have to move on, and if I'm lucky enough to return their I do hope I'll get a warm reception, for they're a great set of fans and I thank them for their support!'

The other signing has yet to have such an illustrious career, for he is only twenty years of age. Domenico Criscito signed for a straight fee of £2.5m, he has joined the club on a five year deal for a competitive salary, especially for his age. He has been been tipped for a glittering future by many people, yet his greatest compliment came from arguably the best goalkeeper in the word, Gianluigi Buffon who described him as the best young defender in Italy.

It is expected however that Criscito may spend his first season away on loan in order for him to garner first team experience. Marcello Lippi has made it clear that he is a keen admirer, and is looking forward to working with the youngster in order to make the most of his talent.

Noble in action

MBV Arkestra have decided to put the England U-21 International midfielder, Mark Noble, up for loan. "He is still very young, and I would like for him to gain valuable first team experience", explained MBV manager Arsene Wenger. Mark Noble has shown immense potential and made a huge impression at his previous club West Ham United. His dynamic performances caught the eye of Wenger last season, after his emergence turned round the fortunes of West Ham to save them from relegation.

It is believed that MBV will be looking a forward to be loaned in exchange for Noble's services, to fill the void left by Tommaso Rocchi. Ole Solskjaer appears to be top of Wenger's hit list to help fill the desired four striker criterion. Rumours have been circulating around the terraces that the Norwegian striker feels he has done all he can at Norway United. The arrival of Kuranyi and Vorinin to Old Trafford has fueled further speculation of the veteran striker and current manager of Norway United's future.

New Coaching Team At Arkestra

http://img471.imageshack.us/img471/995/henktencateuo4.jpg
Henk ten Cate shows his delight after joining MBV Arkestra

MBV Arkestra have added to their tactical and technical know-how, by employing the services of Henk ten Cate as the new assistant manager. Arsene Wenger is believed to have become very friendly with Ten Cate after their last footballing meeting in the Champions League final when they were at their previous clubs Arsenal and Barcelona. "We hit it off immediately", explained the new assistant. "After the Champions League Final, we chatted about our desired tactics, and as it turned out, we both enjoy an attractive, passing, attacking and flowing style of football." In Spain, the pundits believe that Cate was the true tactical mastermind behind Barcelona's recent success and not Frank Rijkaard.

Some critics believe the arrival of Ten Cate as the new assistant is as a direct result of MBV's failure to gain promotion to D2, with many believing that Wenger needs help. Despite having arguably the strongest D3 team last season, Arkestra's season ended quite disappointingly, with no promotion and narrowly missing out on the Peace Cup. Some football writers believe Cate's appointment could see Wenger leaving at the end of next season with Ten Cate taking the top spot. MBV chairman rubbished such talk when interviewed at a charity golf game, "That's rubbish", clarified Dragonfly.

http://img260.imageshack.us/img260/1539/coachingstaffjd2.jpg

Arsene Wenger also added a full coaching staff to help mould his players to legendary status, and for them to play at their full potential. Wenger has signed recent legends of football to train the players and show them what it takes to be as great as they once were. The new goalkeeper coach is Peter Schmeicel, arguably one of the greatest goalies of all time; defence coach is Tony Adams, former Arsenal and England captain, always has been a commanding force in defence, and he has had coaching experience already; midfield coach is Fernando Redondo, an Argentine legend who had everything as a midfielder, he was a complete player; and finally, coaching the strikers will be Alan Shearer. One of the finest forwards to have graced any football pitch, and Wenger will be hoping Shearer will show the current strikers how to finish off teams, because one of MBV's problems last season was they would dominate teams, but would fail to put away chances to put games out of sight.

These new appointments shows clear ambition from the D3 team to move to the top of the FL as soon as possible.

Bakari Sagna (born February 14, 1983 Sens, Bourgogne) is a French soccer right-sided defender who has been playing for AJ Auxerre in the top division of French soccer since the 2004-5 season. Sagna has played for the French under-21 team during the 2006 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship. He has been linked with English giants Arsenal and Newcastle United.

He received his first call-up for the senior France National Team on May 24, 2007 for the Euro 2008 Qualifiers against Ukraine and Georgia

After impressing chairman Mat with Bakari's constant bombing forward and energetic displays for AJ Auxerre shown on French highlight shows, Scouts were sent out immediately to report back on the promising full-back. After a few more games at club level and a call-up for the France senior squad, other clubs such as Arsenal were rumoured to be interested in the youngster, we could see that Sagna was AFC Chelsea-standard and brang him im as soon as possible on a 2.5m deal.

However, as it says in the aforementioned thread, requests for entry are taken via PM. I wouldn't want to jump into James' thread and put stuff in there, but feel free to draw up your own profiles, as Mat and Rambo have, and PM them James' way. Chances are they'll get in.

TEAMS OF THE YEAR

Division 1

Goalkeeper: Petr Cech

http://de.uefa.com/ml/images/players/ucl/220X220/49029.jpg

The Czech #1 edged out Casillas in the voting, following a wonderful season, where he conceded just 4 goals in 15 games - a stunning achievement in any instance.

2nd: Iker Casillas
3rd: Timo Hildebrand

Left Back: Fabio Grosso

http://de.uefa.com/ml/images/players/ucl/220X220/65197.jpg

The Italian lands a place in a Division 1 "all-star" team again, after several more impressive performances, particularly in the latter stages of the season.

2nd: Ashley Cole
3rd: Philip Lahm

Centre Back: Roberto Ayala

http://de.uefa.com/ml/images/players/ucl/220X220/51473.jpg

As solid as they come, Roberto Ayala had his most successful season yet, outperforming Chivu, Nesta and Puyol to become the mainstay of the treble winners defence. Helped to keep out the likes of Henry, Villa, Van Nistelrooy and Shevchenko, and had a huge hand in the club's outstanding defensive record.

Centre Back: Jorge Andrade

http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/fifa/gen/tr/pl/s/184465.jpg

Part of a rock solid defence alongside Kolo Toure, his strength, aerial ability and poise helped Division 1 newcomers, Racing Club Combine Harvester, narrowly avoid relegation, after a torrid second half of the season.

3rd: Carles Puyol
4th: Fabio Cannavaro

Right Back: Daniel Alves

http://www.weltfussball.de/bilder/spieler/12541.jpg

A one man wrecking machine, the energetic Brazilian dominated the right flank all season along, and was a star performer for The Green Army.

2nd: Giourkas Seitaridis
3rd: Luis Miguel

Defensive Midfield: Gennaro Gattuso

http://www.uefa.com/ml/images/players/ucl/220X220/30014.jpg

The incomparable Gattuso displayed his usual hunger, grit and determination to allow the likes of Iniesta, Messi and Quaresma more freedom to attack. The season didn't end as positively as the Italian would have hoped, but you can bet he will be doing all he can to not let the same happen next season.

2nd: Mahamadou Diarra
3rd: Esteban Cambiasso

Central Midfield: Steven Gerrard

http://www.uefa.com/ml/images/players/ucl/220X220/31484.jpg

6 goals from a central midfielder may be enough reason alone to include them in a 'Team of the year', but that only tells half the story with Steven Gerrard. His patented drive from midfield troubled teams througout the season, and the complete midfielder won a number of man of the match awards along the way.

2nd: Cesc Fabregas
3rd: Xavi Hernandez

Left Wing: Robin van Persie

http://ru.uefa.com/ml/images/players/ucl/220X220/53130.jpg

A key member of the high flying Newton Heath, the Dutchman was at his supreme best on the left or right side of a 3 man frontline. Troubling defenders with his quick feet and unpredictability, the technique and control shown by Van Persie was often awe-inspiring.

2nd: Arjen Robben
3rd: Robinho

Right Wing: Cristiano Ronaldo

http://fr.uefa.com/ml/images/players/ucl/220X220/63706.jpg

A nightmare for defenders, Cristiano Ronaldo's pace and acceleration alone can leave the opposition red faced, but when he combines those attributes with such quick feet, close control and dribbling ability, the Portuguese flyer becomes nigh on impossible to stop.

2nd: Lionel Messi
3rd: Joe Cole

Striker: Thierry Henry

http://de.uefa.com/ml/images/players/ucl/220X220/24057.jpg

Despite failing to land The Golden Boot™ for a third successive season, Thierry Henry caught the eye time and time again, with another string of fine displays. A good first half of the season for Racing Club Avenido, but really came into his element when he moved to TG United on loan. Forming a magnificent partnership with Ruud van Nistelrooy, they combined to help the club fight off relegation and eventually claim 5th spot.

Striker: Ruud van Nistelrooy

http://www.uefa.com/ml/images/players/ucl/220X220/38901.jpg

The prolific hitman scored a bucketload of goals yet again, and is now the proud co-owner of The Golden Boot™. Showing an incredible knack for being at the right place at the right time, the Dutchman has supreme movement, and world class predatory finishing.

Division 2

Goalkeeper: Igor Akinfeev

http://www.uefa.com/ml/images/players/ucl/220X220/66794.jpg

Cat-like agility and lightning fast reflexes make Akinfeev a goalkeeper with an extremely bright future. Leaving the opposition often frustrated, the youngster pulled off a number of world class stops.

2nd: Artur Boruc
3rd: Edwin van der Sar

Left Back: John Arne Riise

http://www.uefa.com/ml/images/players/ucl/220X220/34234.jpg

Predictably, Riise's powerful left foot was on hand to fire some rocket fueled strikes at goal, and a large number of them troubled the keeper. With a handful of goals and assists to his name, the Norweigan also proved he is strong in the defensive aspect, with some tough tackling, strength and balance shown.

2nd: Gael Clichy
3rd: Wayne Bridge

Centre Back: Nemanja Vidic

http://pt.uefa.com/ml/images/players/ucl/220X220/41382.jpg

Immense power and body balance, Nemanja Vidic often simply cannot be surpassed. Excellent aerial ability make Vidic very accomplished at both ends of the season. Still at a ripe age for a centre back, the Serban gladiator can scarily become even better!

Centre Back: Ricardo Carvalho

http://de.uefa.com/ml/images/players/ucl/220X220/31429.jpg

3rd: Sol Campbell
4th: Raul Albiol

Great timing in the tackle and leadership made Carvalho a key member of La Naranja. Often used in a 3 man backline, he was everywhere blocking efforts and providing a defensive barrier.

Right Back: Massimo Oddo

http://de.uefa.com/ml/images/players/ucl/220X220/66327.jpg

His bombarding runs down the right wing become a key aspect of the relegation threatened side. Showing good defensive strength, Oddo also provided good width with some good dribbling and inviting crosses.

2nd: Douglas Maicon
3rd: Micah Richards

Defensive Midfield: Torsten Frings

http://www.uefa.com/ml/images/players/ucl/220X220/38946.jpg

Superb alongside young Joao Moutinho, the German provided the promoted Division 2 side with a great balance in midfield, but was not afraid of getting forward to support the attack. A true box-to-box player.

2nd: Daniele De Rossi
3rd: Anatoliy Tymoschuk

Centre Midfield: Andrea Pirlo

http://de.uefa.com/ml/images/players/ucl/220X220/26917.jpg

Not many superlatives have not been used to state how good the deep-lying Italian playmaker has been this season. Had a massive impact on Old London Town's excellent passing and creativity.

2nd: Diego
3rd: Michael Ballack

Left Midfield: Rafael van der Vaart

http://www.uefa.com/ml/images/players/ucl/220X220/47516.jpg

9 goals in total this season was a terrific return from the Dutch midfielder. Part of a fantastic midfield, he regularly showed impressive attacking ability.

2nd: Simao
3rd: Amantino Mancini

Right Midfield: Shaun Wright-Phillips

http://www.uefa.com/ml/images/players/ucl/220X220/68471.jpg

A menace for full backs all throughout the season, Shaun Wright-Phillips found his top form to help his team gain promotion in a fiercely contested promotion battle. Chipping in with a number of goals and assists, the slight winger supplied a regular flow of delighful crosses, combined with clever control and dribbling.

2nd: Bastian Schweinsteiger
3rd: David Beckham

Striker: Javier Saviola

http://www.uefa.com/ml/images/players/ucl/220X220/60961.jpg

While he may have been outscored by Alberto Gilardino, it was "Conejito" who was the star performer for the Division 2 winners in attack. His linkup play with his gifted midfielders and Obafemi Martins was often a joy to watch, and his finishing and movement was top drawer.

Striker: Luca Toni

http://www.uefa.com/MultimediaFiles/Photo/competitions/WorldCup/223780_MEDIUMSQUARE.jpg

Displaying all the attributes that have made him one of the world's most feared marksmen, Tonigoal led the goalscoring charts all season, before a final day brace from Van Nistelrooy made him the joint top scorer.

3rd: Francesco Totti
4th: Miroslav Klose

Division 3

Goalkeeper: Ricardo

http://de.uefa.com/ml/images/players/ucl/220X220/33797.jpg

The controversial stopper was on hand to help FC Intercourse to mid-table, in what was an underachieving season for the Division 3 side. Ricardo made 3 penalty saves.

2nd: David James
3rd: Guillermo Ochoa

Left Back: Leighton Baines

http://www.4thegame.com/media/00/03/49/baines_leighton_wafc_profile_2 006.jpg

A scorer of two goal of the season contenders, young Leighton Baines showed great promise, displaying poise, composure and control, however it was the Englishman's tidy passing and beautiful crosses which really made fans sit up and take notice.

2nd: Matthew Taylor
3rd: Gareth Barry

Centre Back: Ronaldo Naldo

http://fr.uefa.com/ml/images/players/ucl/220X220/101324.jpg

A fine season for the Brazilian centre back, who also managed to get his name on the scoresheet on 3 occasions.

Centre Back: Andrea Barzagli

http://www.paktribune.com/sports/imgfiles/Andrea%20Barzagli_Italy.jpg

The key defender in what was at times a vulnerable looking defence for the promotion chasers. In what was a disappointing end to the season, with a penalty shootout loss meaning the Italian missed out on promotion to Division 2, it was through no fault of his own - he showed great defensive strength for most of the season.

3rd: Javi Navarro
4th: David Rozehnal

Right Back: Steve Finnan

http://de.uefa.com/ml/images/players/ucl/220X220/34371.jpg

Despite only joining in mid-season from Merseyside USA, the impact the right-back made to the cause cannot be understated. Real consistency was shown from the reliable Irishman, who always made life difficult for the opposition with fine defensive displays, while he ensured he got forward to support the attack.

2nd: Rafinha
3rd: Christian Panucci

Defensive Midfield: Rio Mavuba

http://www.football365.fr/resultats/photos/BORDEAUX_MAVUBA.jpg

A excellent future awaits Mavuba. He proved why he is highly regarded throughout Europe, uniting with Aquilani to form a brilliant central midfield.

2nd: Sulley Muntari
3rd: Jon Obi Mikel

Centre Midfield: Tiago

http://it.uefa.com/ml/images/players/ucl/220X220/52694.jpg

A fine passer of the ball with a keen eye for goal, Tiago always impressed despite being part of a under-achieving club.

2nd: Alberto Aquilani
3rd: Stefano Fiore

Right Midfield: Bernd Schneider

http://www.weltfussball.de/bilder/spieler/44.jpg

Pipping Jermaine Pennant to a place in the team, Schneider proved what an asset he is to any team. Great work rate, passing and creativity made up some of the most important aspects of the veteran midfielder's game.

2nd: Jermaine Pennant
3rd: Andres D'Alessandro

Left Midfield: Alessandro Del Piero

http://www.goal.com/resultsimg/3684.jpg

Finally showing why he is regarded as a footballing legend. Top performer for LSA Originale?, and a number of goals and assists to his credit.

2nd: Pavel Nedved
3rd: David Silva

Striker: Didier Drogba

http://de.uefa.com/ml/images/players/ucl/220X220/70482.jpg

The powerful Ivorian had a tremendous impact on FC Cali following his shock move. Firing in goals from all angles, he provides unrelentless danger to the opponents.

Striker: Pauleta

http://www.euro-goal.info/eurox/europe/images/photo/2006-7/pauleta.jpg

Despite going through a goalscoring slump in mid-season, the veteran striker used his experience and craft to good effect, and ended up scoring a very respectable amount of goals.

PLAYERS OF THE SEASON

Division 1: Roberto Ayala

http://worldcup.itv.com/Images/35806.jpg

The veteran stopper makes history as the first defender to win the award, following a incredible season for the treble winners.

Division 2: Andrea Pirlo

http://img.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2006/06/wc/pirloR130606_228x251.jpg

Simply majestic. 10 assists to his name in a fine debut season for the double winners/

Division 3: Vagner Love

http://www.sport-express.ru/foto/249str/1520_500.jpg

Perhaps a surprising choice considering his failure to make the team of the season, but Vagner Love made up for not scoring quite as many as Pauleta or Drogba, by posing defenders with more problems. With very good close control, pace, skill and dribbling

Prolific hitman

Luca Toni and Ruud van Nistelrooy both lay claim to the golden boot, following solitary goals from the pair on the final day of the season. It ends Thierry Henry's hopes of winning a third consecutive boot, falling 2 goals below the target. Van Nistelrooy and Toni have been in superb form all season, helping their clubs to impressive campaigns.

FLA Manager Of The Season

Division 1

Top Gun (Frank Rijkaard)

http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/english/doc/2006-03/06/xin_310303071044194249292.jpg

Division 2

Preki-USA (Steve Nicol)

http://www.mlsnet.com/images/2005/11/10/KiVAnyTZ.jpg
Reason to be hopeful

No promotion, but an unbeaten League campaign and the start of a new era headed by Francesco Totti should help lift the gloom. Nicol managed his squad well, keeping in touching distance of the promotion places throughout and taking his team to the WCL Semi-Finals, but luck was not on the American's side this season, with a number of draws costing the team their promotion hopes, and he will hope for better fortune next season.

Division 3

Dragonfly (Arsene Wenger)

http://www.arsenalhq.com/img/coaching-staff/Arsene-wenger.jpg
Disappointing end of season, but greatness awaits

Despite being strongly tipped for the Division 3 title, MBV Arkestra ended up in 4th place - which would be deemed unacceptable by the fans - and lost the Peace Cup final against rivals Cali FC, however Wenger has built a strong squad with much promise for the upcoming seasons and deserves credit for what he has achieved thusfar.

FOCA OFF!

That's too the Tournoi de Mjolner of course! The draw has been made for the tournament also, plotting Foca against Wan Seattlewangsa FC, AFC Chelsea and Old London Town. Ollie has been very busy over past 72 hours too.

Minutes ago, the rumbling of Luciano Zauri joining the club has been confirmed in a deal worth around £4.5m. Zauri is yet to speak but his agent told of his delight at securing the deal.

Ollie also spoke at a press conference earlier today before the confirmation had arrived, "He's a lad I've watched and been impressed by. He can play on both wings and that means he'd be a great asset to this club."

Holloway went on to confirm that he'd made several players available and was hoping to get some deals sorted in the very near future. "There's palyers at this club who I inherited who couldn't cook my tea good enough let alone play football." Not one to mince his words, Ollie continued, "Postiga, Ridgewell and Tudor are those boys. They're not my kind of players and they're available to a good or bad home.

"There's one or two boys who may revel in being loaned out, but at the minute, Kev Mirallas would rate up there. He's got a bright future ahead of him, but I think he needs more regular games.

"Obviously we can still strengthen the squad, but our team is taking shape nicely. Many teams will be envious of some of our players."

How Postiga, Tudor and Ridgewell go about finding a new club and if Ollie can get some more troops in for the cause remains to be seen. We can just wish the team the best in the upcoming tournament which kicks off against Wan Seattlewangsa FC on Tuesday.

GOOD LUCK BOYS!

Verdadera Chase El Nino

Reports from El Kop suggest that Real Verdadera are planning one last bang in the current transfer window. Kenny Dalglish has done extremely well to build a squad worthy to compete in the second division and after the recent signing of Amauri, it seemed that this was to be the finale of Real Verdadera's transfer activity.

However, according to two main Menorcan papers, "La Gazetta" and "El Kop", Dalglish plans to crash out of the transfer window with a bang! Verdadera owner, Jack Wells, a huge supporter of the spanish ace, Fernando Torres, is believed to be planning to swoop for the Avenido striker. It looks impossible that this deal would be permanent as El Nino's £27m price tag is well above Verdadera's budge, although it is believed a loan deal is being lined up.

When Wells was asked on the matter, he calmly replied, "Fernando is one of the few players with extreme talent! Of course i'm interested, who wouldn't be? It would be incredibly difficult to bring Fernando to Verdadera. However, I will do everything in my power to sign a player of his calibre if given the opportunity."

The final piece of transfer news circulating the Menorcan outfit is the future of Rafael Sobis. Sobis appears to be fairly low in the pecking or order or "priority list" and could seek a move elsewhere. Sobis boasts a lot of talent, having had a good season with Real. The Brazilian, is definately a special talent but it is unlikely to be used this season and could be on the move if only as a loan..

Fans will no longer get to see Di Michele in LSA colours...

In a transfer that shocked our correspondents here at Gazzetta, David Di Michele has been transferred to Norway United for £7m before he even stepped onto the pitch for the Turin club. The deal, £3m more than LSA originally paid for him from FC Corleone, is seemingly a good piece of business, even if it is a somewhat strange affair. When he was unveiled pundits were discussing whether he'd be starting, or a utility player... none predicted this.

According to reports coming out of the club, the move was induced by FIGC's enquiry into illegal betting on games. After the probe into the player's conduct, he was immediately transfer listed and clubs were contacted about a potential move. The official
