Rounds will continue the way they are.
I explained that you must be active to join. This is why. It should not be hard if everyone is one atleast once a day for a few minutes.
Clash lost his spot to pick, so he will pick when we are done with everyone for the round.
Fair is fair.
We will do this 10 more times guys.
If it takes us a month, then it will. There is no changing now.
The picking is taking too long.
I hope that we all can visit here at more times of the day.
Besides the free time I come on, I will check this forum after I wake up and before taking breakfast and going out.
At lunch time I'll check again.
Before dinner once more, and once more before I go to bed.
That way, you'll be updated with the latest choices and the waiting wouldn't be so long. I keep checking here to see changes only seldomly. This should make the picking many times faster :)
its like ppl dun usualy go to the forum regulary like us , i always go on everytime im free like figo10 . other ppl usually go on like.....once a day and when they see its not their turn , then they go on the next day
Yeah that's exactly the problem with having an activity like this.
People can come on at least once a day but they're usually not free most of the day.
Hopefully the picking process can be sped up in the next few rounds. Round 1 took quite a long time, around 6 days or so.

Round 2's taking a long time as well, i hope The Clash comes on soon or he'll be p!**ed off!
For example here's the time we took to complete Round 1.
Total duration: 4 days 4 hours
Or 96 hours.

This is still the best option.
I bet there'll be an improvement this time round, since we're all clear on the rules already. And the picking rate has increased too - I think 3 members posted their choices in the space of 7 hours.

Right now I have a few things to clarify:
1. Are the first 11 players we pick entirely free?
2. Must they be out starting 11 players?
3. Are the substitutes bought? If so what is the budget and order?
4. Do we have a transfer window before the start of the season, to buy, sell, loan, swap etc...? And if so what is the budget?

I didn't exactly understand your last answer. Do you mean we only have 100m to spend and no more? 100m seems a lot for a minimum of only 4 extra players.
A few more questions: Approximately how long does a season take?
And what is the reward cash?

Well, that's why I'm saying, manage wisley. (sp, ?).
There is no rotation rule, so you start whoever you want.
You can buy 1 Great player, 2 class players, and 1 good player.
Atleast I think so. Players won't be expensive. The bids will start relatively low, and work higher.

I was about to PM you and suggest rules for Compulsory Squad Rotation.
That way our squad can be given new looks for different matchdays, rather than you take a look at the squad, seeing their keeper - eg. Cech - first and think to yourself: This team again. The one who players Robben on the left. Drogba as the striker. Terry as the centre-back. (What I'm saying is that there's no variation to the starting 11.)
In real life, squads are always rotated. Few starting 11 start in 2 consecutive games. Few strikers have the stamina to play every game of the season.
I have suggestions, if you agree on this, to compulsorily exercise squad roation in every team. They include a few here which I haven't thought in great detail yet:
- 2 players to be replaced every next game
- Formation to change after a maximum of 4 games
- No player except goalie to play for 10 straight games
- Once in a few games, a random player will be 'suspended'
What do you think? :)

It sounds good. I've got to do that in another league I'm in.
I'd have to up the amount of players you need.
As well as the cash, I suppose.
But for now, I'm going to say no. But I'll keep it in mind.
We'll get the first 11 done. Then I'll talk to Colt and see what he thinks. Then we'll make a poll. And from that we'll do the last players.

Does the other league you're in not practise squad rotation?
If this goes through I'll suggest the number of players we get is 16 or maximum 18, which is the maximum in Champions League games.
So the first 11 doesn't need to be our starting 11? Meaning if I keep my choice for a keeper till the last, it is still ok?
And anyway just asking, when did Colt become an admin :D
EDIT: Anyway hp, I'll see you tomorrow I suppose. Around 10 hours later as I usually see you on this times on previous weeks too. Gotta sleep now.

I was wondering what if you blow all your money on 3 players? Thwn you couldn't have the 15 players. And perhaps you couldn't do the requirements of squad rotation etc.
I think for this league you can have a maximum of 15 players. Meaning your squad can be minimum 11 maximum 15.
Highway hasn't agreed on the rule yet though.
EDIT: Good to see Round 2 only took little more than 2 days to complete.

No. Highway Penguin just gave us the team we supports stadium, with him getting Penguin Park. I got Stamford Bridge even though I'm not a Chelski fan so I asked to change it.
I want mine as the 'Santiago Bernabeu' then :)

That's what I've been hoping for for a long time. Look at Round 1, it took 4 days. Round 2 took around 2 and a half days. Whereas Round 3 only required less than 24 hours, because it was a weekend.
I'm frustrated when I've to wait for people who take over 12 hours to pick.
I don't think it'll finish this weekend yet, next weekend perhaps :)

I was so close to picking Gattuso. It was originally between Vieira, Emerson, Lampard, Pirlo and Gattuso for my first midfield pick, but once the first 3 were picked it was a toss up between Pirlo and Gattuso, but I just opted for the classier one :p ;) I've had queries about the availablity of Pirlo also, but he is indispensable to the team at this point in time. It's thought a bid in the region of £45m may test the manager's resolve :D

Yeah, you've got some good players, but van Nistelrooy is sure to slow down your attack ;)

Sorry guys, my computer's internet can't work, right now at my dad's office. Isn't usual for me to delay you all so long, I know. Hasn't been fixed yet, so I might not be on as often as I usually am.
By the way cool to see negotiations going on already.
I would like Puyol or Carvalho.
So far I haven't suffered any setbacks in picking the players, everything is going smoothly according to script, except highway snatched Puyol :mad::D

I'm sure everyone one of us, if we were you, would pick Vieira first before Hilderband. Keepers aren't the priority you know - except for some of us :D
Keepers are definitely a priority for me. Not too many great one's about these days, and I had 7 or 8 midfielders in my mind to sign, so it wasn't as important to get Vieira, although I must admit I didn't expect Vieira to be chose before it got to my turn to pick again. In other words, I only had 2 or 3 keepers i'd consider, whereas I could quite happily chose 8 or 9 midfielders I consider good enough for the team, so I didn't wanna risk losing out on the keeper I planned for.
You know Vieira's juist about the best defensive midfielder around, great in the air and good in the tackle. I was surprised he was picked quite late. Anyway, I think you should have gotten Hilderband after Vieira as there aren't many of us going after the German keeper.

How do you know? Are you fixing this!? Underhand tactics, eh? :D
At the moment, Vieira is rubbish to be perfectly honest, terrible pick he was, never would have even crossed my mind to pick him ;)
Pirlo is the rising midfield star of European football, and Hildebrand one of the top young keepers so I have no regrets about choosing them.

Of course I did, every top player has been thought of an either dismissed or added to the coveted shortlist :D :p
Seedorf crossed my mind, but for the team i've got planned, I didn't think he would suit it, so dismissed the idea ;) As a winger, I much prefer Figo, as he has superior dribbling and crossing, I prefer Seedorf in the centre or in a diamond midfield system like he kind of plays for Milan.
Now let's see who Haribo picks, if it's another i've prioritised on my shortlist, im gonna go mad lol.
As for the other teams, everyone has the foundations for a great team, but like I said earlier, it's the final few picks which will make or break teams in my opinion. It will get more difficult then.
As a winger, I much prefer Figo, as he has superior dribbling and crossing...

I'll probably play Seedorf as a right winger as I think he's all the qualities to play there, superb ball control. good dribbling and delicate crossing.

Was planning to play Maniche alongside Ballack but seeing that Maniche has been picked, I might have no choice but to stick with Lampard. Anyway don't ask me for a trade between those two :D

I suggest we do all the rounds as we have done so far, as it's going so fast. And I think some of us agree that the bidding idea doesn't sound too good.
yeah , i agree with teekay , we've discussed abt this b4 , and i thikn that it's just too troublesome...i think if we just go on choosing the subs per normal , it will be easier and will go smoother

Anyway we're going at a smooth rate now: Every round takes just under 24 hrs so if we just get on to choose our players at the same time as we've been doing so the past two rounds, it would be done in 2 days :eek: :D

I would say Reyes9, Colt and Teekay have the more dangerous teams. Some picks have been sneaky and mysterious, but they could turn out as master choices later.

No worries, find someone you trust atleast. That could be something we all need. Though most of the people I trust are in the league, haha. :)
If all else fails, I can look over your team. I won't do transfers because I'm a rival team, but I will make sure it continues to function. :)
Some questions:
- Can we release some players or not pick our exact 4 during the picking time (maintaining the minimum of 15 still)? The transfers are coming and not everybody is trading - if one manager buys from another, his team will have an extra player, and the other, a player short.
- How do we submit formal bids, and carry out negotiations?
- Can you mods see the voters on polls? That way no one would vote for themselves, unless they're really superconfident (like Mourinho ;))
- And what are the fixtures in the cup? Group phase? Knockout stages?
Few suggestions for our league:
- Issue squad numbers to every player in your team, preferably 1 to 15.
- Start your official team thread.
- Do not play a similar formation every match, have some variety.

Haven't you read the Fantasy League Talk thread? We have been talking about this for quite some time already.
There's even a list being done.
Only being able to pick these certain players would give the D2 members more choices, otherwise their teams would be complete unknowns...
Anyway, do consider using the same order for the pciking of subs. Not that I'm in favour or against anyone of you or myself, but maintaining the same order would be faster. Cos it's the order which we registered in D1.

- Subs, there will be some sort of rotation going on next season, I'm not sure exactly what kind of rule just yet.
- Last subs, they are what they are, I won't change that. It is only fair for the D2 players. It's another 40 players that they will not be able to pick. Everything helps.
- The bidding is no longer active, as many of you know.
- D2 is starting soon, so I'm hoping to get this done as soon as possible. So try to have your picks done or atleast in the order you want now, so when it's your turn you are ready.

Pier69, i don't like your idea in the slightest. Who chooses who gets injured? Even if it's HP, he'll obviously be inclined to pick our best players e.g. Kaka' for me.
Just do a random pick, should be fine with our 15-man squad.

not 6 players getting injred in ur team at once , it wont just affect ur team ,but all in d1 teams. it will be random like , today ronaldo was badly tackled by zambrotta and inured a ligmaent or smtin like that . so if ur unlucky u will get 1 or 2 of ur players injured , not 6 in ur team at once , u are ridiculously unlucky if that happens . the probabilityof that is very little as we hae 10 teams. with injuries and bookings, the league will be more realistic and more fun . except keepers they cant get injured. get waht i mean ? oh yeah loren. we get injured randomlyso it doesnt matter if the one that get injured is a key player , that way its more realistic . and i think HP is a fair guy and he will pick randomly as normal , even if his key player ike ronaldinho is injured or sumthin like that

Yeah hp is fair, but I don't it he should literally 'pick' the player to be injured. It would be better if he did a draw, totally random then.
I get what you mean pier. Good idea, though I think the maximum number of injuries/suspensions should be 4. Our squads shouldn't drop lower than 11 players who can take part in matches.

That's why I'm suggesting squad numbers 1 to 15, so it will be easier to draw the numbers.

If you give them all inknown teams, they wouldn't be enthusiastic to continue this. Anyway everyone's picking EPL players without a problem, I haven't seen any complaint from anyone yet.

Anyway most of the folk in D2 are probably british or know the EPL well so why are you taking the best players from that league and leaving them with leagues they may know nowt about?

My Reasoning- How much fun is it for D2 to pick from the crap players? Leaving them some cream of the crop will make the competition more fun.They are picking from crap anyway and taking more of the EPLs best players isn't helping. How many of D2s players are educated on French, German or Dutch leagues? More than they know the English? Doubt it, I'd be doing them a favour by picking players from Germany and Holland etc.
I'll change Recoba no problem as he is a big name, but I AM NOT picking from the EPL or Americas.

Simple. You might not agree with my rules, but they are fair. I'm also having to pick from the EPL, but you don't see me complaining. Infact, I know very little about players outside of La Liga, and Serie A.
I choose EPL due to the amount of players they have, and the variety, and the popularity.
If you do not agree, or want to comply with my rules, then drop. This goes for everyone, this league is ment to be fun, for everyone. D2 will end up picking horrid players that are left if we pick from where-ever. There are plently of good players left, I'll name them off if you'd like. I'll name 8 players for you two to pick if you want. (Colt and Pier) I will not re-start the picking. I dropped the bidding idea, due to a few people disliking the idea, but I will not change this rule.
If you are thinking of quitting, think about it over night, and then I'll discuss it with you tomorrow, as it'd be a shame to loose your team, and realize that there was no point in loosing it, as you'll still have your favorite 11.

I've made these rules to help them. This is 40 more players that they can pick. You might say 40 less from EPL, but La Liga, Serie A, and so on all have great players as well.

He plays for FC Nurnberg and that fact that you had to ask gives me the impression he would be less likely to be picked that Keane or Defoe etc and if I pick Mintal it would give D2 a top EPL player to pick.

I think you just pick any player who hasn't been picked yet by D1, though there's a possibility of picking a repeat player as currently D1 is picking the subs and D2 is picking their teams simultaneously.

I guess no date has been set yet, as we haven't completed the picking and the transfer window yet.
The transfer window should last around 1 week to 2 weeks , during which friendlies can be played as well, then the league starts.
