Ashley Cole's pretty soft, after all. He was on the worst divers list if I remember right (worst divers thread). Well, Rooney is tough, but not when tackling and playing normally imo, but only when he gets aggressive.

Where is Blackburn Rovers? They really have to be the most annoying team in the Premiership. Duncan Ferguson, Kevin Muscat, Danny Mills and Robbie Savage have to be in the top ten. I havent really seen Cannavaro or Emerson do anything wrong.
Sinisa Mihaijlovic is a dirty little nazi and should be placed No.1

Ruud is tough, offensively, he actually runs into defenders and knock them out of the way. and his quick turns spins the defenders off. ruud is definitely a tough player. he is also deady and powerful in the air. Tough

Er... why ain't Bergkamp in there?
Paul Scholes?
He's quite tough sometimes, but usually you can't see it happen. He plays just at the edge of fouling. but this is just my point of view.

True. It's not a list of violent aggressive "Dioufs". The list concentrates on European footballers (and ex-european: Simeone).
Er... why ain't Bergkamp in there?
He isn't tough, he's just violent.
Gary Neville plays a very tough game mentally and pyshically.
how the fuck do you spell Gattuso..am i right there..he plays tough for AC.

What about Walter Samuel and Martin Keown.
What a crap list. Vieira ? He used to be, but is now a severe grass kisser.
i can see how Ruud Van Nistelrooy got on ahead of Alan Shearer
van Nistelrooy, Vieira, Scholes?
The first two are frequently diving cheats and what they hell as Paul Scholes ever done to be categorised as tough?
Savage?!

Gattuso has to be in the top ten, Cannavarro is a tough bastard though. One person conspicuous in his absence, Edgar Davids? The worst has to be Montero, 16 my eye! He's a right tough bastard.
Why the heck isn't Ayala on there ? He's a tough guy. Is the turkish veteran Bulent still playing ? He was the dirtiest bastard to ever set foot on a pitch, just behind Gentile.
edgar davids has to be the toughest foorballers ever , playing football with him has got to be like playing rugby
Is Gazza not playing these days, not even in the Ryman League or something? He used to be king of this sort of competition.

Nice to see Duncan Ferguson in there. But trust me Rooney isn't hard. I watched him every home game when he wasat Everton, and he just gets angry, and squares up to them, he'd get banged in a fight.
And Gravesen is solid, you wouldn't pick a fight with Gravesen.

Vieira is a lot tougher than half the guys on the list. It depends what you class 'tough' as, I don't think it's a list of hardmen, as if it was, half of them shouldn't be on there. This year his been out of sorts partly, but how often have you seen him outmuscled or dominated in the past? You can hardly say his a poof, as no offence, but I doubt you or many others on this forum would stand much of a chance against him physically, despite the fact he goes to ground on the football pitch rather easy at times. ;)
Ayala and Keown should be on the list in place of van Nistelrooy and Dario Silva, who aren't ''tough'' in my opinion, just dirty.
Walter Pandiani is quite tough aswell.
Keane should probably be higher on the list...and yeah..a bit questionable soem of the entries. Viera is physically quite imposing, but these days he seems to have trouble staying on his feet...ha!
