This is the thread for a great updated option file for PS2 Winning Eleven 8: Liveware Evolution. All player names are translated in to English, all transfers are done, team lineups should be correct and kits are edited to suit the Gangsta patch - so the numbers are the right colours and positions for this patch.

Thanks to people at evo-web, here is a good option file you can use for the meantime until we get a proper file.
All player names are in English and shop items are unlocked.

Holland players have english names but appearances are not fixed.

Well worth using right now.

You use the Max Drive or X-Port to transfer it to your Memory Card... simple as that. No installation needed.

I thought it was supposed to have english language to choose from including the other european languages that are on pes4.

No, you just get commentary options, no text. Text is all in Japanese. But to be perfectly honest people, there really isn't much difference in gameplay, just a couple of tweaks, think twice before you spend $60 if you already have a prior version.

God there good, I mean officially the game didn't even get released until today but they've already done alot. It look's really good aswell alot better than WE8. Not taking anything away from that cos I couldn't do it, but they've really excelled themselves this time. Well done lad's!

Reefur and Fernando are making the translation, tools will become available soon to. Made an improvement of that option file.

99% English names for players (can't do ML default players), clubs, leagues
Most formations done
All winter transfers done
Flags included but not linked to clubs (because of oncoming patch)
Everything unlocked in shop (not to my liking as I don't like the classic players in my Master League)=> will be fixed by Reefur in oncoming patch

Did not change appearences or stats.

=> Option file based on the one made by wecg999999 and louis of wecg.

If you see some mistakes, post them here. I'm only human...

There will be a new file coming out soon. I've helped out by fixing the names and appearances of the Holland and Czech Republic players. And updated Beckham's hairstyle ;)

The file has been edited to look best with the Gangsta patch for WE8:LE.
And Scorpio will also insert JEFFT slowdown fix too.

- Little errors corrected in names (not many) ;)
- Appearances for most German and Czech national players (and Becks new hair) thx to Zygalski's option file
- Slowdown fix by changing the default hair and faces, thx to JeffT for his option file and Kezz the mailman :p
- Duplicate players replaced by new players who weren't in the database but are in real life at those clubs (checked ages and stats to make it as good as possible) -> took me all day to do this... :)
- Classic teams are locked again in WE Shop
- Players from We Shop are still unlocked, but can't find them in Master League (fingers crossed) -> I changed the name of a couple of players like Koeman etc to see how they come up in the Master league at young age.

But a question. Why cant we have default ML players translated to english? I play ML with defualt players only and i would really appreciate english names for Castolo, Minanda and dulic etc.

The game doesn't let you edit the ML player names.
Hopefully someone will fix it so that they can be changed on a pc editor.

the option file that comes witht he gangsta ole mix, is that better then this one, or you'd suggest this option file for the gangstaolemix? thanks :)
what do option files determine exactly, doesnt the patch determine player, stadium, team names and looks, or option files do this? anyways i hope someone can answer me, thanks again

Is it possible to just download the option file onto your ps2 max drive & then put it onto your ps2 with the real patchd kits or will it just be the internally edited real kits?

The patched kits are located on the patched disk and not on the option file.
This option file has kits set to default so that the patched people can see the patched kits. If you're not using a patched disk, you will only see the default crappy kits.

dude,eventhough i've been playing WEseries since we5i, i'm ashamed to say that i'm new to all this "patch&optionfile" business.i've got liveware & I've got the pro evo+we8 from thailand with boots,kits,everthing.but how do i get this shit on to my liveware evo? can you help?

1. Buy a max drive and download the max drive version - and then transfer it to your memory card.
2. Buy an X-port and download the x-port version - and then transfer it to your memory card.
3. Try the CD2mem method where you burn the bin+cue version of the file to a CDR and load on a chipped/modded PS2.

I'd recommend number 1.

Got the disc from thailand,they call it "pro evo4+we8i.got all kits etc,etc,plays like pe4 but smoother.they recon it's liveware but i got that & liveware has newer gameplay,tackles,headers& better volley's.

I loaded this option file and I found that nedved is not in the zcech national team. Does anyone having the same problem? I used the CD to Memory method. Thanks!

Both v1 and v2 I used are the same, except for corrected faces of baros and van nisterooy. Would anyone play zcech if Nedved is not there? :)

You have to play one season first, then robinho,adu etc become available :D

Also Vando if you really want nedved that bad stick him in yourself, it'll take you 2 minutes ;)

Razor - I don't know all the players but it will be mostly the high profile players like Ronaldinho, Shevchenko etc. You can pm scorpio at www.evo-web.co.uk he will know :)

Delete your old option file from the mem card first and then transfer the newer one.
Otherwise try to load the file manually from the Options menu.

Any news of there being an option file update for x port with decent kits on it for premiership, cant do patches no dvd burner so need option file, any help any one want to post theres?

I doubt anyone will take the time to manually make all the kits in-game.

You can also patch your games and rip it to CD - and burn on a CD-writer. The CD-ripping method is a sticky in the General Editing section.

Edit: Has someone tried to import the pes4 club badges from the pesfan option file into the WE8:LE option file? Would make them look a lot better than the default badges.

You can use this option file on any patch. The kits are all set to default. If teams are changed on the patch, their kits will be visible.

The players will be a little different but overall it shouldn't be too bad.
But reefur has spent quite a bit of time with correcting the database so his is good too.
