Having been a Toon supporter all my life and attending games since I was 11, I have been proud of the achievements of the club over the last three years. When Robson came he took us from a club that was about to get relegated, to a club that became the first to lose their opening three Group stage 1 games in the Champions League and still qualify for stage 2.
With signings such as Bellamy, Woodgate, and Jenas the future looked bright, but this season saw the Toon sit back while every other club dabbled in the transfer market. The only signing we made was Lee Bowyer on a free, and what I have seen of him so far hasn't exactly impressed.
The thing that pissed me off most though, was when we were being strongly linked with John Terry and William Gallas before the mickey mouse cockney wankers got saved from the shit by the Russian mafia, was indeed the fact that Sir Bobby was certain we had 6 good defenders at the club. Well excuse me but who, barring Woodgate, who does look class who the fuck was he referring to?
When you look at the depth in the squads of Man Utd and Arsenal it's easy to see their still light years ahead of the Toon and Bobby needs to be more ambitious. For example if van Nistelrooy gets injured Solskjaer can step in or if Thierry Henry is out Wiltord can cover. Then look at us, Bellamy picks up a knock and who replaces him but Shola 'The Circus Clown' Ameobi, who isn't fit to polish Shearer's boots, nevermind make the same runs as him and get in the way. The boy couldn't finish a bag of chips!
If we are to keep moving forward we need to sign 2 good full-backs, another class centre-half, and a ball winning midfielder who will give license to Dyer getting forward and supporting the front two. Only if we do this can we make an impact on the league and strongly challenge for the title!
On a final note who would Toon fans like to see arrive at St. James' Park over the course of the season?

Not a Toon supporter but I agree with many of your points. I think u need some players in attack, MF and DF. Sorry to be harsh but you seem to be about 5-7 players away from a good enough squad to win the Premiership. Your team needs some steel... Plus you will have to replace Shearer someday.

I agree with wot has been said too. U seem to have had a very crap start to the season and im not too sure wot the reason is, but i guess it would b that u havent strengthed. I must admit u do lack experience in defense and really need to get a gd striker, one that will b able to take over shearers role in the future. I think plain and simply u need to strengthen caus u do lack experience in vital areas.

I think that there is not the strength and depth in the squad. Arsenal haven't really bought anyone but their overall squad quality is better. And you still need some steel!
