It's the vacant team, that Rasheed Sharq used to manage. It's being called 'Cranie's Scarred Penguin', and i'm going to look after it throughout the transfer window, trying to make it more competitive, and then we'll look for a new manager to takeover.

Yeah, too many thrashings going on. Rarely see any upsets in the Cup competitions, which make them interesting. I'll be voting for a few of the underdogs who I think have a sniff.

It's still better than one or two seasons ago though, when the divide between D1 and D2 teams were clearer and the only question was the goal difference. Now lower division teams have better chances of beating those of one division above, especially if they have strong starting elevens.

Matchday 9 will be posted tomorrow evening, folks. Make sure you have your formations ready. I'd like to see some updates with the squad rotation stats as well. Any Division 1 or 2 teams found guilty of breaching rotation rules will be punished, so it would be easier for everyone if the stats were up to date. If you're unsure of something, just ask.

Don't worry Mat, these things happen.

Looking at the stats you've posted, Palacio and Llorente have to play in the next game, as does Hitzelsperger. Even in that case though, the latter will only have played one game. Albiol also played 7 consecutive games earlier in the season. Aside from that, you seem to be in good enough order.

Once we know what we're going to do about it, we'll get back to you.

Edit: Grygera has to play as well.

1. I like Nilmar, but Rocchi probably has the edge at the moment.

2. I prefer Yossi Benayoun.

3. Gareth Barry

4. I'm tempted to say stick Sidwell in there, but the balance is probably better as it is.

5. D'Alessandro or Benayoun would strengthen the attack, in place of Tom De Mul, I feel. I don't think you have a lot to be worried about - it's an impressive team all over the pitch.

I've been impressed with Ronaldo Naldo this season; he could become some defender. Your defence could be what gives you the edge over the opposition, as that's probably where Division 3 promotion contenders most lack strength, but it's sure to be a close call for both promotion spots.

He does have some excellent firepower, but Drogba's decline is just around the corner - the drugs will wear off soon, and he'll be back to being a donkey ;) Even good backup on the bench, though.

Sullivan is in a good position and if his front three keep scoring the goals, he can take one of the spots, and I wouldn't rule out Wellzy, as he's quietly got himself together a well balanced side, with a lot of depth, that can pose a threat.

I don't know. Cali had an incorrect lineup against Dragonfly in a Cup game before the transfer window opened, but because it finished as a draw and neither manager complained, nothing was done about it.

Several formations still need updating. The games will be posted somewhere around 8 or 9pm, so those managers that need to make changes, better get a move on.

I fully support the idea of restricting the goal boundaries as proposed for season 4. Hopefully that'll cut down the number of draws. It's a tad ridiculous as it stands, in my view.

I just checked the archives and discovered that I drew 9 league games last season - more than anyone else in Div 2. I think you drew 7, Chris. So you've already matched yourself after only 11 games, and we'll both no doubt break our record by the end of the season.

EDIT: I don't think the voting blind idea is possible, so that's most likely a no-go.

People vote for the result they think is most likely, Si. There's no mass vendetta against anyone. To be frank though, you're probably not doing your cause any favours by reacting to every lost vote.

Both Nikos and yourself have good squads relative to your divisions, so there's no reason why either of you can't survive. You'll both undoubtedly have good days and bad days, the same as everyone else. Just keep plugging away and I'm sure you'll get a break soon enough.

Well forgive me for stating the obvious but maybe those people aren't fans of your squad, at least in comparison to what your opponents are fielding. I'm sorry that you're unhappy with the way your season is going, but criticising other people's voting trends without any proof of foul play isn't going to do you any favours.

Edit: Precisely, Chris. Hell, someone voted against me in the last game partly because Downing and Ljungberg are apparently better than Hleb and Giuly. It's a personal preference that I disagree with, but it's every voters right to make their own decisions. It's the nature of the game.

Yeah, it´s natural, but a lot of times fuck me.

It´s anything personal with Top Gun, he has a very good squad I´m sure of that, but in my match vs him a lot of people said "I go for a draw" and vote for him because he was losing in votes. The worse was that for that, in the last hour when the thread was going to be closed, I finally draw the match with TG.
Like I said Top Gun has a great team, he improved a lot and I don´t have anything with him, he is a great manager and member of this seite, but if you post a comment and said "A draw for me" don´t vote for the manager that is losing. Maybe in some cases I vote for a manager if he is losing for a lot of votes, but no when he is losing for 1 or 2 votes and then the match ends a in a draw.
It´s only a personal comment, is not anything personal with any manager or member of this site.

My game with Utd4Ever before I left it was 9-8 to me, an hour before the thread closes, it becomes 11 to him. :erm:

People say they didn't like the 4-5-1 formation (Utd was posting Anelka alone up front) and they prefer 4-4-2 formation with two defensive midfielders and two decent strikers (Like what I did). Yet, that gave me nothing, but a draw. If the combo of Tevez and Villa can't beat Escude and Cordoba (who are good, but how do you rate Tevez/Villa?), then I find that Villa and Tevez can pretty much not beat any defence in my division. I think that game was the most important one.

I'm last, no wins at all (not even the Cup games) and relegation threatened, can't get any worse.

I'm not bitching anyway, as Rich said, it's the nature of the game. Unfortunately it's hitten me every time.

While you have a point, G, it was mostly because the WCL is the most unbalanced of the competitions, often seeing huge imbalances between the teams as they come from three divisions. It's highly unlikely that we'll see a huge amount of draws at this stage in the WCL.

A reminder to all managers that matchday 12 games will be posted tonight between 9.30-11pm BST/GMT +1. Make sure you have your formations ready.

Edit: I've also noticed in the Squad Rotation thread that some managers have a few errors. Del Piero for instance, has listed the midseason signings he made from other clubs, i.e. Javier Zanetti, as only having played 3 games all season. Any player who played in the first half of the season must carry their rotation stats on to their new team, only free agents start afresh. Check and update your stats, folks.

I've done Cafu for you as I was going through Calculus' earlier.

It's always worth sending a PM to the manager you bought a player from in the hope they still have a record of rotation. Worst case scenario, it shouldn't take too long to look back through 9 matches per player, as annoying as it may be.

Boohoo. I'm sure that's the case for most managers. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and as Rich said, i'm sure most of it is just their honest opinion, rather than them having a grudge against particular managers.

I don't know who the hell you think you are, but going around saying "fuck off you cunt" in reply to some banter from Joel, and "im not moaning fucking cunt" and then giving negative rep to Cranie with a similar message, when he was merely doing his job as moderator, is not acceptable. Likewise, the posting you have been doing in your recent matches has been unacceptable, and a ridiculous attempt to gain some votes, and this, along with the bumping of match threads (not pointing the finger at just you here, as there's other culprits) when the result is not to your liking, must stop. If it doesn't, we'll be forced to not allow managers to post in their match threads, which would certainly be a step in the wrong direction.

It´s anything personal with Top Gun, he has a very good squad I´m sure of that, but in my match vs him a lot of people said "I go for a draw" and vote for him because he was losing in votes. The worse was that for that, in the last hour when the thread was going to be closed, I finally draw the match with TG.
Like I said Top Gun has a great team, he improved a lot and I don´t have anything with him, he is a great manager and member of this seite, but if you post a comment and said "A draw for me" don´t vote for the manager that is losing. Maybe in some cases I vote for a manager if he is losing for a lot of votes, but no when he is losing for 1 or 2 votes and then the match ends a in a draw.
It´s only a personal comment, is not anything personal with any manager or member of this site.

I'd always vote for a manager which is behind on votes (unless it's only a 1 or 2 vote difference, which I could see being erased) if I feel the game is a draw, which could be said for the majority of managers, and I think it's the right way to go.

There are some teams that look capable of clinging onto a hard fought point, but not having much chance of picking up all 3 points, so if they then receive a lot of comments saying they could get a draw, and then receive no votes because they're not viewed as capable of winning, we'd be seeing a lot of one-sided contests.

I'm sure this has also benefitted all managers in the past, aswell as disadvantaged. It usually balances itself in the end, as it's used across the whole of the League.

My game with Utd4Ever before I left it was 9-8 to me, an hour before the thread closes, it becomes 11 to him.

People say they didn't like the 4-5-1 formation (Utd was posting Anelka alone up front) and they prefer 4-4-2 formation with two defensive midfielders and two decent strikers (Like what I did). Yet, that gave me nothing, but a draw. If the combo of Tevez and Villa can't beat Escude and Cordoba (who are good, but how do you rate Tevez/Villa?), then I find that Villa and Tevez can pretty much not beat any defence in my division. I think that game was the most important one.

Well, it could. You could have 11 losses out of 11, and your arms and legs might have dropped off through the agony of it all ;)

There were a lot of late votes in the last set of League fixtures, but whether he had 11 votes, or 9, in the end, makes little difference as it doesn't affect the scoreline.

Perhaps with Vieira and Emerson protecting the defence, that was a significant factor for managers in predicting a draw or a win for MU4E, but I can't speak for anyone else.

As has already been said, you still have a chance of survival, so you should wait and see how it goes, and then, along with everyone else, can moan and groan about how the season went for your team once the season is over. There's still a long way to go.

Part-time manager of Rafa's DTL side, part-time pathetic little cunt who needs to go and find himself some sort of life. The match between Sdav and Rafa has been cancelled, partly due to Sion's actions, but also due to the blatant dodgy voting, which will be dealt with appropriately, once it has been discussed with Victor and Rich.

There seems to be a lot of animosity around the League at the moment. I hope, for everyone's sake, that this stops and we can get on with enjoying the League. This is just a bit of fun, there's no point getting upset about it. Although it's frustrating when matches don't go your way, and you are in a position you don't want to be, there's always some enjoyment to be had out of it, so let's not start getting into bitter and petty feuds, which has ruined the FL to a certain extent in the past.

Whilst I disagree with certain managers feeling there is a vendetta or grudge against them, it has to be said that lately there has been some very obvious tactical voting, which there is no point denying. I'm not going to highlight particular cases, as it's across a lot of matches and all three divisions, but it's a shame if we're going to start going down this route, as it seemed we had moved past that this season, if the first half of the season was anything to go by.

We have, without any shadow of a doubt, the best set of managers in the Fantasy League we've ever had, with it's popularity at a high, and a number of members waiting for a team. There have been a number of great improvements to the League this season, and it should only go from strength to strength, so let's cut out all this petty bullshit, and start enjoying the League for what it is, can we?

The battle for the second promotion spot in Division Two is looking pretty good, four team who are in with a chance of going up. The Division Three battle isn't looking too bad either, should be a great second half of the season.

Indeed, it is very tight at the top of both Division 2 and 3; will be interesting to see how it pans out. Good possibility of the fight for promotion in both divisions going right up to the final day. Same can be said for the relegation battles in the top two divisions, aswell.

I have to say, I'm honestly disappointed I didn't beat Cali. I felt I had the better tactics, if not team, to get at least a one goal difference victory. I guess others felt differently. I hope those who voted for Cali didn't automatically think Cali has Drogba and Saha up-front, easy choice.

I'm not sure exactly what's happening tonight. As far as I'm aware the draw for the division cup competitions hasn't been made, although I may be wrong about that. I assume it will either be league fixture 13, in which D3 aren't involved, or we will have a postponement until tomorrow night. I'd update both your cup and league formations just in case though.

I'm off out in an hour or so, and will therefore be unable to post anything up tonight, so games will only go up tonight if Scarface or HP are around.

At the moment, there are no free teams, but we're considering replacing Sousa21, as he's not been active enough, and the team is severely underperforming. It's also worth considering whether to expand Division 3 next season, seeing as there's so many top candidates to manage teams.
