View Full Version : What is your favourite driving/racing game?
Driving games are my favourite gaming genre. I own Gran Turismo 3, TOCA Race Driver, Colin McRae Rally 3, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2, Burnout 2: Point of Impact and Formula One 2003. I like all these games but if I had to choose my fave it would probably be Burnout 2 closley followed by NFS:HP and CMR3.
I'm looking forward to the release of GT4, NFS:Underground and CMR4.

In my opinion gt3 is the best. Now I'm waiting for gt4. I also have v-rally, f1 2003 , stuntman and nfs hp2 but I think that gt3 is the best

yep, GT3 for me also, but haven't played many of the others so can't really say. What were they thinking when the brought out GT Concept?
You could complete it in a day!
but you could get credits for GT3... :)
GT3 is undoubtedly the daddy in terms of graphics, realism and cars. I just find that Burnout 2 has the highest fun factor.
Nice thread Paul B, and i have to say GT3 undoubtedly. Its Lifespan is absoloutely amazing! I have had it 2 years and I've only recently come close to completing!

Yes. that's why it's the best jag cause you have to play a lot to finish it. and the most difficult is the endurance races (lot of patience) and to get all the licence tests gold. I've been playing for almost 2 years and I am at 87%.
Can't wait to get gt4 in my hands.
Anyone played Le Mans 24hour - just wondering if i should give it a try.
Also what is TOCA like. Are the cars still a bit twitchy to steer?

I've played a demo of Le Mans 24 hour and I didn't particularly like it.
TOCA's a good game, it runs really smoothly. The story mode is pretty addictive and keeps you playing.
Here's PSM2's verdicts:
Le Mans 24 Hour - 73% - Can't compete with GT3 in an already crowded field.
TOCA Race Driver - 82% - Stylish storytelling - but just not as good as GT3.

I have to say Burnout 2 is very good for a laugh, although wouldn't hold my attention for more than 2 weeks. And Colin McRae seemed alright but after playing the rally stages on GT3, i never decided to buy it.
How about classic driving games on old machines, or are you guys all to young, eg Microprose Grand Prix and Jaguar XJ220 on the Amiga are 2 of my all-time greats.

I've played all of the Grand Prix games apart from the most recent one (GP4), great series! :cool: I used to own GP3 and the add-on until recently when I sold them both.
ive just got all golds in the b licesence - it was very hard to follow those racing lines!
It would seem that GT3 is by far the favourite looking at the poll results. I've got the latest Colin McRae (No.4), it's excellent as are all CMR games.

Freaky! I just got Colin McRae 4 today. Won't be able to play until Monday, I reckon, but it should be a good as the others I hope.
Well, I love it that's for sure. It's worthy of it's 92 rating in PSM2 IMO.
A defining moment for rally games. Everthing has really come together for 04. If you've any interest in racing at all, you should get this game.

My fav game overall is gran turismo 3 but.......i like burnout 2 alot. Its alot more fun but i wouldnt wanna play burnout2 for over a yr unless ya got sum1 to play it with casue once i unlocked all tha cars and things i didnt really have much to do with it. Whilst your trying to unlock all tha cars; its tha best racing game but that dosen't last very long casue its a very shortgame. I think burnout 2 would be tha best multiplayer racing game but overall its a abit too short but still worth buyin!! ;)
I think the inclusion of the crash mode makes the game all the more better. :) :cool:

Haven't heard anything about BO3. I'm sure we will hear plenty soon though.

Have you guys heard of Initial D? thats a classy driving game.
Maybe coming from HK and knowing what is is makes it one of my favorite driving games. and Tokyo highway challenge zero anyone ??

and even on ps2 one, you played the first one, second one or the third one? cause the third one is only avaliable in japan

Hey patrick, Mario Kart is the same as turismo in funplay but its not as good as turismo in graphics! But if you forget about turismo and mario kart lets bring Colin Mcrae Rally 3 into the subject. Have you ever played on it if you have do you like it or don't you!
Does anyone know where i can find the GT Force Pro Steering Wheel found here? It needs to work in the UK.

Talking of Mario Kart. My mate has a Gamecube and will be getting Mario Kart: Double Dash when it's out. Can't wait to play it, should be good. :)

heyyyyyyy y isnt the bets racing game on there. Dare i say it better the BO2 and that was my current favourite. The new need for speed OH MY GOD that is the ulitimate game. It is the most fastest exciting gmae there is. In gt3 all the cars (if neva put cheat in) would just stay in lines and saty behind each otehr. In this every1 tries winning and does anything they can to win. i was racing and there was this "road works lighting thing and i was driving and i was hoping i wouldnt crash into it but thne out of nowhere this car boosts on with NOZ and smashes me into it.
For all of you who enjoy turbos and stuff this is the ulitmate game for u!!
