Peter Kenyon has quit Manchester United... and wait for this... has join... CHELSEA.

Now this is big news, well for me it is as i am a man utd supporter. I think that peter kenyon has stabbed us in the back and moved to our biggest rivals (financially). To be honest im shocked and quite annoyed by this move. This is the biggest sign to the football world that perhaps chelsea are on the way up. I hope to god that they fail and peter kenyon regrets the day he leaved united.

Peter Kenyon told Veron that he was unwanted and that he would not play for any club he was working at. (supposedly!!) Should be interesting. Least the tight gits out of manchester now!

So I guess all that 'true Red Devil' and 'lifelong fan' amounts to nothing in the end, eh? Apparently, Fergie and Peter were having troubles sometime before with the misdealings in the Ronny fiasco. Something to do with a horse too contributed to the final move (http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2003412900,00.html).

It makes you raise some questions, though, noh? How Veron's departure was handled and how, unbelievably, Man Utd. never signed Ronaldinho. Even Fergie said the latter was a done deal.

I cooked up a little conspiracy theory when Quieroz went to Real and this just gives it more life. Think about it? Quieroz probably had some form of say in the Beckham deal and then just about a week or so later he joins Real to take over the reigns there. And now, enter Peter Kenyon, when Man Utd. sell Veron to Chelski for cheap and two weeks later, the man in charge of transfers and much more leaves the club attracted by big wages and an ego boost.

I'd love to see some reactions from the Man Utd. fans on the boards. My mate says he's not too bothered but slightly anxious. He does admit to Kenyon doing good for United, though (Nike sponsorship etc.).

I suspect it's another reason to hate Chelsea who are probably second to United in terms of hatred in England now.

Interesting theory there. It's amazing what £1million does when it is waved in front of you huh? I would be most worried about the players United were tracking - e.g. upcoming youngsters like that 14 year old kid from America. Chelsea will now have the knowledge of the rising talents United were scouting and I have no doubt they could out-bid them.

To be fair we can't blame him too much. Don't tell me you wouldn't have been tempted by £1million a year. And we do not know the full story behind the scenes such as this horse story. I don't think loyalty and business can be put in the same sentence personally (spot the irony there ;)) This could possibly prove to be Chelsea's most vital summer signing.

ooh... controversy!

It should be interesting, though it's not something you see every day.

Now to add more to the chelsea hype, in the manchester evening news they have reported that roman abramavoich approached sir alex during the summer and sir alex just blatenetly turned it down.

As long as utd have sir alex at the heart of the club, i think we will continue to strive to new heights and continue with our winnign ways.

Also there are tlks about utd's lawyers trying to prevent peter kenyon becoming chelsea chief exec till after the january transfer window. And just to add to the stroy many believe that with kenyon chelsea will try to get ruud, as ruud's wages are reletively low (45-50 thousand a week)

Id keep your eye on this situation as it can only get more interestin

Sir Alex's first instructions to David Gill (the new chief exec) were apparently to get Ruud's new deal sorted by the end of the month, and to elevate him to top earner alongside Keane. Smart move.

Kenyon going is a doube-edged sword. I think most United fans see/saw him as a poor negotiator when it came to transfers (paying too much for Rio, Veron, Forlan, not getting Ronaldinho) and replacing him won't be too hard.

On the flip side, he has intimate knowledge of all our future transfer targets, youth targets, player and staff wages, sponsorship contracts, link-ups with foreign clubs and all sorts of other matters, and he can use all that to Chelsea's advantage. He's also very good when it comes to the corporate and sponsorship side, although Chelsea hardly need the cash.

It's a bit worrying, but nothing too major just yet. We'll be able to get our revenge though, as Chelsea will need our vote to get into the G14 elite and that looks very doubtful now :D

Another thing that's worrying is they have apparently agreed a £22 million deal for Lucio, who in my opinion is the best defender in the world!!!

I've heard from a few united fans I talk to, that they're happy about this move, so, hey, what can you say? No big dealio to me, it's no news that everyone knew about Adu (14 year old kid from america), i'm sure he won't change his mind to join Chelsea just coz Kenyon is at Chelsea? I'd hope not at least.
