View Full Version : Premiership Salary Cap ?
If there was a salary cap in the Barclays Premiership, do you not think it would make the league much more exciting to watch and be apart of.
If their was a salary cap, then the League would be more open, it would give everyone a chance for success. The League winners could change possibly every year.
What do you think ....
In an ideal world a wagecap would be introduced to the Premiership, but it isn't going to happen. If they clubs are prepared to pay the players' ridiculous wages then so be it.
The players would revolt, i think they tried in the NHL, went down like a lead baloon.

The only way that a salary cap could be introduced is if it was virtually global, who the hell is going to play for Arsenal on £15,000 a week when they could play for AC Milan and get £50,000 a week? All a salary cap on the Premiership alone would do is mean it was less attractive to players, English clubs would become worse and fail in Europe and the Premiership would drop out of the top four leagues.

That is what the salary cap would do in a nutshell. It would make it more competitive but not necessarily better.
I also agree with Original. But if it was worldwide, then football would become more competitive and better.
