Anyway, I agree with you- this isn't a bad thing. Svensson's gone home to Sweden and Huckerby is now a left winger, so another striker was needed as back up to Ashton and McKenzie. The only thing is I'd like to see Jarvis get a chance this season. When he broke into the team towards the end of the 02/03 season at the age of 16, it was looking like he was going to be something special. But he wasn't really given much of a chance, despite becoming the youngest scorer in the club's history early on in the 03/04 season. He played a few games this season when Worthy had no choice but to play him during the injury crisis around Christmas, and scored a great goal against Liverpool, but he still hasn't been given a chance. I'm worried that with Thorne's signing he is not going to get a look in this season either.
I may as well give an opinion on the other signings while I'm rambling on about Norwich, so here goes. Mathieu Louis-Jean. I don't know too much about him, but I will say that this is a good signing because a right back was needed. Edworthy was not offered a new contract, which I find rather stupid because I'd rather see him play than Helveg, and Helveg is being constantly linked with moves back to Denmark and possibly even Germany. His national team manager isn't too happy with him playing in a league that plays 'kick and rush football', so a new right back was definitely required, and so Louis-Jean should hopefully be a good signing.
Gary Holt went the other way in that deal, and I'm not too sure about that. He was rather poor last season, but he was struggling with lung injuries. In the promotion season the year before, he was one of the best players. He always works hard, but he is not the most skilful. In the Championship, his lack of ball skills was not really shown up too often, but in the Premiership where skill is needed more, he was exposed. He should be a hell of a player in League One though.
Finally, Jason Jarrett. Wigan wanted to keep him, so they obviously feel he's Premiership quality, but he wanted more regular first team footballl. It does concern me quite a bit though- he's a good player, great physically, a box to box player, similar to Damien Francis. This signing means that Francis is off, most likely to Middlesbrough or Portsmouth. :(

So it seems that ignorant tosser Morten Olsen has his wish, Helveg is leaving a league of 'kick and rush football'. I'm not exactly glad about him leaving, although I wouldn't have cared at all really if Edworthy would have stayed. I would love it if Worthy did a major un-expected u-turn and offer him a new deal, but unfortunately it just ain't gonna happen.
Portsmouth want Francis (http://skysports.planetfootball.com/list.asp?hlid=289678&cpid=8&CLID=45&lid=&title=Pompey+still+want+Franci s&channel=championship)
Is that all they are prepared to pay- £1.75m? I hope that this offer is rejected out of hand, because it is not enough in my view, because he is worth about £1m more than that. But I wouldn't want to see him leave for any amount of money.

The Emre saga takes yet another twist. (Source (http://www.sportnetwork.net/main/s342/st76533.htm?fromrss=1))
To be honest i'd grew tired of the constant delays of this transfer. It would appear that the fee was the stumbling block, i've heard reports that Inter wanted £8m for him, i don't believe he is worth that much, and the money would probably be better spent on an attacker or defender.
Hugo Viana has announced that he has no intention of leaving Newcastle, this will feel like a new signing as it seemed he was on his way back to Portigal after his loan deal at Sporting. It also means that the non-arrival of Emre isn't such a blow as previously thought. He was never really given a chance under Robson, hopefully Souness will have a look at the lad, he can't be any worse than Bowyer or Butt.
The fact that we haven't signed any strikers could force Souness into a difficult decision regarding Bellamy, the two clearly despise each other but we currently only have Shearer and Chopra as fit strikers, Bellamy staying would be a massive boost.

Well that's just typical, hours after I thought Bellamy was staying and Emre wasn't arriving it turns out to be the opposite. My previous point still remains however, £8m is too much and i hope the money for this transfer isn't used at the expense of other positions.
I'm not happy about Bellamy, although he'll probably fit in well at Blackburn, with the likes of Dickov, Savage etc.

Well Gary you guys paid 6.5 for Parker, and I can't see any reason why Emre should be less than 8. Infact it should be more, as he can play in the left wing as well and surely better than the current midfielders in Newcastle.

Apparently Emre is close to signing, and the whole thing could be concluded by tomorrow(Source) (http://skysports.planetfootball.com/Article.asp?id=290395)
Although don't expect to hear anything for a few days, as has become custom in this deal. I don't know what to believe, I hope he signs but i'm tired of waiting.
Chelsea are drawing out their transfers as well, although many expect SWP and Essien to be signed, sealed and delivered in the next few days.
Bumped into our new left back Asier Del Horno at the Chelsea Court Hotel. I'm taller than him, which was incredibly surprising. The last time I was up close with a professional footballer I used to be about waist height to them, even Dan Petrescu and Zola were giants in my eyes back then. To suddenly be taller than them was a bit of a shock. I think new signings are put up in the Chelsea Village until they have their houses bought and sorted out. Asier didn't speak much English though, probably didn't really understand what I said, but hopefully my stargazed eyes and eagerness to shake his hands conveyed my message.
More sillyness from NOTW. AC Milan will let Chelsea buy Shevchenko for £60m, as apparently Milan have an agreement for Gilardino, they just need Chelsea's money to buy him.
Naturally, being a tabloid, there's a few blatant flaws in that theory.
We're not going to sell Sheva for £60m to buy Gila for £20m when we've already been able to offer £18m. If we did sell Sheva, I'd hunt down Berlusconi, currently my adopted father.

Why can't others see the sense spoken here, and which I have tried to touch up on before. Emre is also hugely inconsistent and can have a big mouth. Reminds me very much of one Laurent Robert.
i think he is just like robert and it might turn out to be another bad move by souness. but i cant disagree that on his day he is worldclass.

You can hardly blame Robert on souness, any manager would struggle to contain him, it's just that Sir Bobby was too lenient with players, Bellamy would still be here saying what he likes if Bobby hadn't went.

Emre latest...
After a transfer fee was agreed with his club Inter Milan, midfielder Emre Belozolgu has now arrived on Tyneside ahead of his medical on Tuesday.
Interviewed outside Newcastle airport in the company of Graeme Souness, Emre told the official website:
"I am so happy because Newcastle is a very big team and for me, the Manager is a very important person."
Meanwhile Souness spoke of "a few loose ends" to be tied up before the deal can be completed and we start to re-invest the Bellamy cash.
and whos this Dutch keeper Newcastle want, and why??
Fansites of Dutch side Den Haag carried stories over the weekend claiming that Newcastle had agreed to sign their young goalkeeper Tim Krul (pictured).
The Dutch youth international turned 17 in April and is said to be out of contract at the club following his failure to sign on pro terms after the expiry of his apprentice contract.
From what is being reported in the Netherlands this sounds like it could be a re-run of the Charles N'Zogbia and Le Havre situation which is currently being looked at by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

He was inconsistent at Inter because he had an injury and he had strong competition for his position. Now that he's fully recovered and will certainly play at Newcastle, I'm sure that he'll do well at Newcastle.

Don't see the need for Crouch. Liverpool already have Fernando Morientes whose heading is unrivalled in the Premiership. Add Milan Baros and Cisse to that, as well as Luis Garcia and there doesn't seem a need to add Crouch, especially for that amount
Figo would be much more appropriate to Liverpool. Figo's pinpoint crossing combined with Morientes' superb heading, and that'll be a main source of Liverpool's goals.

I know Chelsea have been loosely linked with Gilardino, but since no big stars want to go to Chelsea, I think they should do everything possible to get Gilardino. They need a good attacker, Drogba was not as good as everyone expected, Kezmen is gone because he was absolute crap, and Gudjohnsen... he's ok, but not a the ideal starting attacker for a team like Chelsea. I think Gilardino wants to stay in the Serie A, but goign to Milan would be a bad idea, haveing to face Vieri, and Inzaghi for a starting position alongside Shevchenko.
Quite frankly, I tyhink the transfer market has been too quiet so far this summer. Everyone is settled at their clubs or aren't being let go by their clubs. Vieri and Viera were like the biggest signings so far and they are both in the declinign phase of their careers. Van Bommel was pretty big, but not that big.

Precisely. IF we sign Gilardino and IF we then don't sell Shevchenko, they will be the first choice partnership in attack. Vieri will be just behind them - his injuries don't help him - and Inzaghi will be fourth choice....if he ever gets fit. Rumours are that Tomasson will go to Benfica this weekend in order to make room for Gilardino on Monday. We shall see.

You took it too literally, and I didn't explain it well. Vieri would be behind Sheva and Gila in the pecking order i.e. third-choice striker. Didn't mean he'd line up as a playmaker behind the front two.

West Ham have signed Yossi :)
West Ham have completed the capture of Israel international Yossi Benayoun for £2.5 million.
The Hammers and Bolton were vying for the 25-year-old's services, but it was Alan Pardew's side who won the race for the former Maccabi Haifa star.
Benayoun, who has signed a four-year deal, is believed to have undergone a medical at Upton Park on Saturday before penning a deal with the East London outfit.
"We are delighted to have signed such a highly-rated player who was being chased by a number of other leading Premiership clubs," said managing director Paul Aldridge to the club's official website.
"I am sure he will become a huge favourite with our fans."
While Benayoun played for Racing Santander last season the fee will not be paid to the club as agents Pini Zahavi and Ronen Katsav recently bought the player for around €3.5 million (£2.4 million).
The Israeli midfielder rejected a move to CSKA Moscow earlier in the summer as he was aiming to clinch a transfer to The Premiership

Arsenal are set to land Bastia's much coveted Cameroonian youngster Alexandre Song.
Following the sale of Patrick Vieira, Gunners chief Arsene Wenger has wasted little time in moving for the highly-rated defensive midfielder.
The 17-year-old, who rejected Middlesbrough at 13, has been tracked by Manchester United, Internazionale and Lyon in recent months.
However, Wenger has now stepped in and is firm favourite to land Song - nephew of former Liverpool star Rigobert Song.
"Indeed Alex wants to play in England," confirmed Bastia chairman Louis Multari.
"We have started to talk with Arsene. I think we will make it happen. We should sell him."
Song still has three years left on his current contract with the Corsican club, but they have now agreed to sell him for €4 million (£2.7 million).

The only thing with Anelka is his attitude, which is a damn shame as he is a top-class striker. Although you could argue that if he had the perfect attitude then he would be at one of the big clubs still, and Real wouldn't have sold him, thus we certainly wouldn't be in for him.

Bollocks! Don't give me that, ''he's gotta be good if he plays for England'' crap. Old-Heskey & Ricketts were even better than him during their call ups and how shite were they?
It's just England exploiting strikers of height, as our class ones are mainly midgets. They'll go for any tall striker nowadays, so they can finally have someone on the end of those Beckham spinners.

Gilardino deal looking hugely unlikely:
GALLIANI: 'No news about Gilardino'
7/18/2005
MILAN - 'I've not heard anyone from Parma and we will not call anyone. We are waiting.' This is what Adriano Galliani had to say about Alberto Gilardino's negotiation. The Milan vice president left the club headquarters at about 1pm CET to reach the Lega Calcio where a Serie A extraordinary meeting is scheduled. He added: ’If they call us, it is good. Otherwise we will focus on an alternative from tomorrow. I repeat: either today or nothing.

there is a rumour of ljungberg going to chelsea, i got it from a friend who is in the arsenal fan club in hastings,
First of all, that is bullshit. Chelsea have signed Wright-Phillips, who is much better than Ljungberg, and so Chelsea need no more wingers. They already have Robben, Duff, Wright-Phillips and Cole, only two of them can play so why Chelsea need another winger- especially Ljungberg because Chelsea can afford better- is beyond me.
I still think Crouch is utter shite on the ground. He's unbelieveably slow, has no pace, he's just wierd and stupid. And his temper is pretty crap.
He is a good player on the ground. He has a very good touch, and is very skilful. He isn't the quickest I admit, but the other strikers in the England squad do have a bit of pace (Owen, Rooney, Defoe) so if Crouch can flick the ball on to them then there would be a threat. As for im being weird and stupid, yes he does look weird but that hardly matters, might make the opposition laugh so that's a good thing, and if you think he's stupid, you should listen to some other players, like Damien Francis example. Good player, but sounds as thick as two short planks. His temperament is usually, but he does for some reason react when he shouldn't, but he'll grow out of that soon.
Bollocks! Don't give me that, ''he's gotta be good if he plays for England'' crap. Old-Heskey & Ricketts were even better than him during their call ups and how shite were they?

Heskey isn't a bad player either. As for Ricketts, yeah he is crap, he just had a good season that's all, but besides that I agree. Back to Crouch, I don't see the problem in having a player in the squad just because he's big. If you're running out of ideas, or are chasing a goal, just launch the ball up to his head and something may come of it.

See! This type of mentality is why England are yet to have won any major competitions for nearly 4 decades. And probably never will.
Do you really think that putting some lanky striker, of no quality, upfront against the likes of Brazil, Italy, Holland, Argentina, France, Czech Republic etc. Would be of any effect? Fuckall is the answer. He looked shite against a fucking ''second-string'' Colombian side for heaven's sake.
They need to accept the fact that they have midgets for strikers and work around that. Instead of playing the stereotypical ''route one'' football. That football itself has drastically grown past.
I thought this was a transfer thread?
GILARDINO JOINS MILAN!!
7/18/2005
MILAN - It is finally official: Alberto Gilardino has signed a contract with Milan. The striker announced the deal himself in a phone link-up during the 'Studio Milan' talkshow on Milan Channel: ’I'm very happy, it was a long negotiation that fortunately ended in the best way. Everything of this team fascinates me: the club, the history, the top players who are part of it. Why did I choose Milan? Because they are the strongest club in Europe and for me it is a great honour to wear these colours.'

Julio Baptista has insisted that he will not be leaving Sevilla, despite bids from Premiership side Arsenal.
The striker, nicknamed 'The Beast', has always been reticent to complete a big money move, with his Spanish citizenship just 12 months away - and he has told a press conference that he will see out his contract.
"I have never said that I wanted to leave or that I didn't want to stay at Sevilla," said Baptista.
"I have come here to work and to play here a further season. I don't know what is going to happen this year, but I am calm.
"There is interest from several clubs but I am happy here and I have to take that into account.
"In August, I will get my papers in order to get Spanish nationality and I will no longer take up a non-European place, which is very important for me.
"I have already adapted to the Primera Liga and to adapt to another league would be complicated."
Baptista has talked to Arsene Wenger - a move which angered Sevilla - but he confirmed he had passed on the same message to the Arsenal boss.
"It was a fast conversation, in order to get to know each other and that is it," he said.
"But I told him that I had the opportunity to get my passport, which is very important for me.
"I couldn't [have already signed for them] because I would be fined by Fifa.
"The only contract that I have is that with Sevilla."
Baptista also confirmed that he was highly unlikely to sign a new deal with Sevilla, saying: "We've been talking about that possibility for a year and a half but nothing was done.
"I believe it's going to be very complicated to prolong my contract with Sevilla."

Neil "Pie Man" Shipperly has completed his move from Palace to Sheffield Utd (Or wednesday, one of the two)
He shall be sorely missed as the fat bloke that won us the play-offs. May your remaining career be a happy one.
Sheffield United have completed the capture of Crystal Palace striker Neil Shipperley.
The 30-year-old hit-man has become part of The Eagles' folklore after scoring the goal that took them to The Premiership but has now been adjudged surplus to requirements at Selhurst Park.
Shipperley has inked a two-year deal at Bramall Lane - in a move that has delighted Blades boss Neil Warnock.
In a well travelled career Shipperley has enjoyed spells at Chelsea, Watford, Southampton, Palace, Nottingham Forest, Barnsley and Wimbledon and his new taskmaster is confident the powerful forward will prove his worth next term.
"Whilst this might not be a big money signing I'm absolutely delighted because we have needed someone like Neil since 'The Chief' (Wayne Allison) left,'' Warnock told the club's official website.

If you have issues with me as you seem to, either PM me or stop moaning. You have a big chip on your shoulder and your constant whinging is simply boring. Personally, I couldn't care less if this forum goes through a decline or not - its only an internet forum.
As for unprofessional websites, I'm sure you go to Sky Sports which posts a complete pile of bullshit every day but if you can do a better job, go off and do so.
This is the internet, it means fuck all. It's not my fault you "were going to move abroad but it fell through" - like I cared in the first place.

Robinho may finally finalize his move to Real M. by the end of this week or the beginning of the next. Real are offering 30 million dollars, and Robinho is giving up his 40% of his image rights to make the total sum $50 million, the price Santos President Marcelo Texeira demands. FROM TODAY'S CHRONICLE:
GRAEME SOUNESS is trying to bring in Australian international Craig Moore to bolster the heart of the Newcastle United defence.
And if he succeeds then the 29-year-old centre-back will be reunited with United’s Jean Alain Boumsong, the pair having briefly lined up alongside each other in the Rangers defence at the start of last season.
Souness admitted today that he has targeted Moore, who is a free agent after having his contract cancelled by Borussia Monchengladbach.
Reports from Germany say it was because Monchengladbach alleged Moore turned up for training drunk although the player himself denied it and threatened legal action.
Souness said: “I have heard all about that. It was an isolated incident and something which has been completely taken out of context.
“Last week, I was up in Scotland at the wedding of one of Rangers chairman David Murray’s sons. Former Rangers managers Dick Advocaat and Walter Smith, who both had Craig Moore in their teams at Ibrox, were both there.
“And when I asked them about Moore they both said the same – sign him.”
Before moving to Germany, Moore spent 11 seasons at Ibrox but after falling out with no-nonsense Rangers boss Alex McLeish over a club v country controversy, he left for Monchengladbach.
Moore has also had problems with his knee but he is now fully fit.
Indeed, he said: “I have just played for my country in the Confederations Cup in Germany and I am not only fit but match fit. I am a free agent and while things did not quite work out for me in Germany, I would love a crack in the Premiership with Newcastle.”
With Aaron Hughes and Andy O’Brien sold to Aston Villa and Portsmouth respectively and Titus Bramble nursing a broken elbow and out for the start of the season, United are now in desperate need of a new central defender.
Souness added: “We got £2m for Aaron Hughes and Andy O’Brien and if I can get Craig Moore, who has captained his country, in for nothing, I will consider that a good piece of business both on and off the field.”
cheers Graeme looks like your turning a corner and you do this piece of shit

I wouldn't be so sure that Baptista goes to Arsenal. He already stated that he wants to stay for one more season to get European citizenship(or summit) so he may reject the move until next season
Yeah, that seems to be the biggest obstacle:
A stumbling block could be that Baptista is thought to be in favour of spending one more year in Spain in order to qualify for a European passport.
He could then move anywhere in Europe without the need for a work permit.
Please remember that Sevilla seem to be willing to sell him. Anyway it looks like his time at Sevilla is over, which I think is good for him. It's time for the Beast to move forward.
It also seems like the Sevilla crowd booed at him during a friendly, maybe this means there's no coming back for Baptista.

I sure can't blame they also won nothing the last 2 years and especially this year was dramatic losing the competition title in the last couple of weeks and losing the champions league final after leading 3-0.
About Baptista, that's the kind of player Real Madrid really need, he's their first choice. I would be very glad if they'd sign him.

Sabastien Viera coming to Arsenal?
Arsène Wenger intends to sign a goalkeeper before the weekend.
The departures of Stuart Taylor to Aston Villa and Graham Stack on loan over the summer has left the Frenchman with only Jens Lehmann and Manuel Almunia as his recognised keepers.
On Sunday Wenger admitted that Uruguayan international Sebastian Viera was among his options. Speaking exclusively to Arsenal.com this afternoon, the Frenchman did not name names but he did reveal the deal would be concluded quickly and the new keeper would challenge the present incumbents for their spots in the first team squad.
“Certainly I will bring in another goalkeeper,” said Wenger. “That should be decided tomorrow or Friday.
“You don’t take a goalkeeper to sit on the bench, you take them to challenge everybody. That is what we intend to do. It is fair competition.
“At the moment Lehmann is No 1 in my opinion but we live in a competitive world and everybody accepts that you are only as good as your last game. You always have to prove yourself again.”

im am fed up with people saying Davids is the ''master class passer?''
compared to Gerrard, Alonso and Lampard he aint! i mean Alonso is one of the passers in the world and not forget-ing Gerrard and Lampard. My point is that he is nothing compared to some of the midfielders in this league, the greedy-craic-head wont make it in this league!
Davids will just end up a flop, like anyother big name who came to this Country. IMO - English football is the hardest in the world and the best.
What people need to wake up and realise is that Davids probably will fail in England - because he's not a great player anymore. If he doesn't, fair enough to him, but I don't particularly like his attitude in either case.
Davids, though inspiration for Barcelona when he was there on loan, is much, much worse now than he was even at that stage, and during his time at Barcelona he still wasn't at his best. He was a complete flop for Inter.
By the way, plenty of "big names" have come to England and been a success. A lot of so-called big names have gone to Italy and Spain and failed - Henry is a good example of someone who couldn't do it in Italy. Each of the major leagues is difficult in various ways, though I do think the Spanish, being a mixture of both the Italian and English leagues, seems to be a bit easier for players to adapt to.

Hey Ballymoor, I guess you can argue England has the best league in the world, but Italy is the same level. You Europeans are so proud of your leagues, but the best players, at least most of them are from different countries, outside England, that is why your national teams can never seem to really please anyone; look at how bad the national teams of the top 4 leagues are: Italy, SPain, maybe on a lesser scale England and Germany. So don't be so proud of your league because it is far from a purely English product. Even the best coaches are foreign, Benitez, Mourinho< Wenger. Not to mention the fact that a Swede runs your national squad.

The simple fact you are stuck to steretypes makes your entire argument invalid. Milan only defend don't they? with a playmaker in a defensive midfield position, another playmaker in a playmaker role, two strikers, two wing backs....nice and defensive isn't it? They don't try and win until the last five minutes do they? That's why Spain has more goals than any other league in the last 15 minutes.
Anyway, on a transfer note, hasn't Figo's move to Inter been called off after their failure to agree personal terms?

GRAEME SOUNESS will today sign Italy defender Francesco Cocu to shore up the leaky defence he blamed for Toon going out of Europe.
Robbie Elliott’s kamikaze backpass let in Deportivo’s Pedro Munitis to wrap up victory in the Intertoto Cup semi-final.
Boss Souey groaned: “You can’t legislate for the way we gave away the second goal.
“I would hate to think we will give more away like that during the season.”
Cocu will arrive on Tyneside today with a view to a season-long loan.
The Inter Milan full-back, 27, has 17 caps and played in the last World Cup at left-back with Paolo Maldini, the AC Milan star, moving inside to accommodate him.
Newcastle clearly see this position as a problem with Celestine Babayaro constantly breaking down.
But Cocu’s arrival is too late to save Toon’s Euro dream.

if cassano must leave roma i'd rather he went to juve that chelsea :realmad:
e awaiting news from the Court of Arbitration for Sport, who are deliberating on the Italian club's transfer embargo, so any talks on a possible transfer would have to wait until next week.
However, reports in the Italian press suggest that Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon will fly to Rome within the next two weeks and is prepared to offer around £8.5 million to sign the talented but temperamental front man.
The Stamford Bridge side will have been encouraged by the former Bari player's reported unrest with the Giallorossi and the fact the player's contract expires in 2006.
Roma have attempted to agree a contract extension with Cassano but the player's financial demands have scuppered any attempts at brokering a deal.
In contrast, Chelsea would appear only too happy to accommodate Cassano's requests and are reported to be willing to offer the player a five-year deal worth £4.5 million a season.

P.Neville has signed a five year deal with Everton, he said "It was the hardest decision of my life"
NEWCASTLE UNITED believe that Jermaine Jenas is on the verge of submitting a transfer request.
Tyneside was awash with rumours on Wednesday night that Jenas had been involved in a heated argument with Graeme Souness after being asked to play at full back in the Intertoto Cup defeat by Deportivo La Coruña should Stephen Carr have failed a fitness test, but that allegation has been denied. “This is absolute nonsense,” Souness said.

oway Codename mate... what was Beckham?
Don't get me started on that one
I think that other than saviola, owen, baros, and cassano, transfers for this coming season are pretty much over with only a few lesser known players moving around here and there. I really want to see where the 4 I listed are goign to end up though. I think Saviola will stay in spain, probably go to Espanyol ( i really hope not), Atletico Madrid, owen will probably go back to england for manchester or newcastle, or maybe even liverpool althogh I think liverpool have pretty much closed their squad. Cassano has been heavily linked to Juventus, involving a trade for Chiellini and Miccoli. As for Baros, I don't know where he's headed, he has been pretty crappy since Euro 2004.
Owen could be goning to Liverpool as Manchester United and Arsenal has pulled out of the race and he snubbed Newcastle

I think if United get Owen it would be a great signing for them. They could use him to play alongside Nistelrooy with Rooney behind him. I think he'll probably start alot of the matches on the bench but if he impresses he could be a regular. I'm sure Fergie will find a use for him with Smith in midfield and Saha out. I think Owen would move Saha down the pecking order and Saha will probably go to Lyon.

Malbranque + Boa Morte are not leaving!Newcastle will not play more than 4.5 mililon and Fulham will not sell just a few days till the big kick off. Plus Chris Coleman will bring Postma on loan and will sign Duoala.
A few paragraphs above...
Luis Boa Morte will sign for Newcastle after a player plus cash offer was accepted by Fulham. Fulham will recieve £3.5 million and Steve Harper to solve their goalkeeping crisis. This will then make newcastle sign either Paddy Kenny from Sheffield United as Harpers replacement. The fee will be £3 million. This is 100% true as I work near Souness at St. James Park and overheard him telling Freddy Sheperd about it !*!*!

Trying to find a source but despite reports in england lyon have reiterated that essien won't be joing chelsea :)
The summer's longest-running transfer saga appeared close to ending earlier on Wednesday when reports suggested Lyon had finally succumbed to Chelsea's advances and were willing to sell the Ghana international for £24 million.
However, Aulas - who has been quick to criticise The Blues for the manner in which they have conducted their transfer dealings - has spoken out to deny any deal is near.
The l'OL supremo insists the transfer is no further advanced than earlier in the when he claimed no deal would be done.
"Contrary to numerous reports in the English press, Jean-Michel Aulas confirms that there is no agreement between Chelsea and Lyon over midfielder Michael Essien," a statement on Lyon's official website read.
"The president of the four-times French champions remains committed to the position he laid out in Monday's chat with www.olweb.fr."
Despite Aulas' assertions to the contrary a deal to take Essien to Stamford Bridge is still expected to go through before the transfer window shuts at the end of the month, but the French club have made it clear they will only sell on their terms.

Brazilian right back Cicinho is 'at talks' with Man Utd. Alledgedly, he's in Manchester. If they get him... good dealing.
Juventus: We will get Cassano (ffs shut up and get him then) (http://www.goal.com/NewsDetail.aspx?idNews=79342&progr=0)
I saw that saviola is joining sevilla, I like the sound of that. He'll form a good attack with Luis Fabiano

NOOOOOO! We must get him! Not Sevilla.
Anyway....
Arsenal have accepted a transfer request from winger David Bentley.
The 20-year-old spent last season on loan at Norwich but on his return to Arsenal, he found his first-team opportunities remained limited.
Bentley therefore asked to leave and manager Arsene Wenger confirmed: "I will let him go.
"It's a bit of the risk you take when you send a player out on loan and he gets the taste of what it's like to play every week in the Premiership."
He added: "He comes back and thinks it will not be easy to play the same number of games this season as last season.
"Then he becomes impatient and a bit nervous about the situation.
"I understand that as David Bentley is a flank player or a second striker.
"In these positions, we have Robert Pires, Jose Antonio Reyes, Alexander Hleb, Freddie Ljungberg, Robin van Persie and Dennis Bergkamp."
