So Graeme souness thinks that lucas "damn my forehead is abnormally big" neill's tackle on Carragher was unlucky, :mad: :mad: well Souness i think u can go and fu*k a goat!!! :mad: :mad: Souness is one jealous mo'fo that is still angry about be sacked by us way back, that's why we did'nt get Damien Duff and that's why neill did that horrific tackle on carragher, :mad: :mad: even the most die-hard Blackburn fans cannot defend the tackle, now the PFA are blaming Houllier!!! :mad: :mad: For calling neill a coward, but if it was neill's leg that had been broken u can guarantee Souness would have been ranting and raving the scottish asshole and he would have been in every paper telling us about it.... Anyway does anyone think that Neill should be suspended until Carragher can play again??? It has been done in France where one player was suspended for 2 months.

What's the point it was just one of those things that happens in football. From what I have seen of Lucas Neill he is not a dirty player, it just seemed his adrenaline got the better of him.
I think both Souness and Houllier should have both acknowledged it was a bad challenge and left it to the FA to sort out. Houllier coming out branding Neill a 'coward' is hardly mature, or wise for a professional person in such a respected role.
I agree that managers making excuses is childish and pathetic but didn't Houllier once claim that Robbie Fowler was mimicking Rigobert Song eating grass, when infact he was taking the piss out of Everton fans?
It is time the FA became more stern toward bad challenges and managers making excuses!

And by the way I support Newcastle, and when Gravesen fouled Bernard last season, yeah I was upset but I didn't go crying to everyone and start branding Gravesen a coward. Like I originally said things like that happen sometimes in football. After all it is a fast contact sport played by men!

If Shearer did say that it was probably because he was a pundit on TV and couldn't really speak the truth. Shearer is a better finisher, can hold the ball up, win things in the air, score in the air with conviction, and challenge back as well. As soon as Owen loses his pace like Shearer did his career is over. This is because he doesn't have the qualities Shearer had to fall back on.
So we've had a poor start to the season, I'd rather that than pay to watch Liverpool play. Infact I'd rather watch paint dry 38 days of the year!
And if Carragher is so good how come he ain't in the England squad eh? Oh yeah I forgot that's cos he can't play football without having a nose bleed every time he gets near the halfway line.

Owen is 10 times better than Shearer u really know nothin about football, Shearer plays in a team that can provide crosses so he scores owen plays with a midfield that did'nt do that last season, if owen played for newcastle or man utd he would score 30+ a season, i'm puttin an end to this arguement i think he has scored more for England than Shearer , and if u knew anything about football u would admit owen is better at everything about from pens.

I'm agreeing with Blue. Neill's challenge was bad and did result in a broken leg for the coin-chucker but to call it a coward's challenge after Gerrard last year? If anything, THAT was a coward's challenge.

Well then I must personally apologise to Mr.Shearer for playing in a team that actually plays football. And I can easily do that seen as I support my local team!
I am sorry to have upset someone that doesn't think I know anything about football and that I should believe the tabloid press that praise Owen.
Since the 98/99 season Owen has only scored 1 more goal than Shearer (83 to 82). That includes Shearer being crippled through injury for at least a season and a half!
Michael Owen is a decent at best striker, but Baros is twice the player Owen is (even crippled).
Fact is Shearer is miles better than Owen and I recall him being captain when he played for England, even ahead of beckham. That's because he can lead something other than a dog.
When Owen has scored 228 goals in the Premiership and counting you can come back to this arguement and back it up with some facts and common sense.
I am sure that all neutrals will agree with my previous post comparing their talents!
Looks like you should stop thinking your a character from a TV programme and learn how to watch and appreciate good football!!

The only good forward in Merseyside is Wayne Rooney, even Shearer said he is better all-round than Owen. And he can actually play a bit too!
And I must admit playing football since I was 5 and being a season ticket holder since I was 7 has lead to me knowing nothing about football. I guess knowing nothing means talking the truth in your eyes doesn't it!

Interesting stat last season. Shearer: 46 apps 24 goals. Owen: 56 apps 34 goals. Last season exactly the same yet newcastle were better, so should'nt that mean Shearer should have scored more?

What the hell are u on about reb?? they are exactlly alike just because owen is smaller does'nt me they are'nt the same, owen gets alot of headered goals. they are both OUT AND OUT STRIKERS, owen does'nt do much apart from score, Shearer does exactly the same.

Owen does not supply strike partners often. Shearer does. Owen rarely holds the ball up. Shearer does. Owen is not known for getting a large share of his goals off his head (although recently that is changing). Shearer is.

They are 2 different types of striker. Owen is like Henry and Shearer is like RVN. But I would say that RVN has the most complete strking game of all of them. This is not saying he is the best b4 anyone goes nuts!!!

Okay I admit I was a bit harsh about people from Leeds, and I withdraw the statement I made. Leeds is in general a pretty nice place although they are too interested in Rugby League and Cricket for my liking.
I apologise for calling you a twat, that was just me being stupid in the heat of the arguement. I didn't mean to cause offense.

My final post on this thread justifies my whole arguement. In the FA Premiership Decade Awards Shearer swept the board winning:

These awards were voted for by the public and therefore eliminates the need for your suggestion on the vote of who is better!
