Play-off change (http://www.itfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10272~673551,00.html)

Not as good as my idea of just giving the team that finishes third a goal advantage for every 4 points they finish above 6th place team.

What does everyone else think of the play-offs, is putting the third place team straight into the final a good idea or is my idea better, has anyone else got a better idea or maybe they don't need to change?

The current idea is good I think. The third placed team shouldn't be given an advantage because if they were good enough then they'd have got automatic promotion.

But if I were to suggest a rule change, then I'd say keep the format, only make the semi-finals a one-legged tie at the ground of whoever finished higher.

And I am not clicking on that link, simply because of where it is to.

I think the playoffs are great. And surely the teams finished 3rd and 4th having the second leg of the playoffs at home, should be a good enough advantage.

Yes, but as this year proved having the second leg away proved to be a disadvantage because of West Ham being a bogey team and having a better away record than their home record, so it ended up us being disadvantaged for finishing 12 points above them, then you could say it's our fault for not making it count.

Play-offs are great for the neutral or the winner, but hell for the other 3 teams.

I like what you're proposing but I think the same should be applied to the 4th and 5th game in which 4th has the advantage. Sheepshanks' suggestions will be dismissed as bitterness and being a sore loser so any result would be unlikely.

I'm not sure. In some ways its great having that outside chance for your team, and then the excitement of working your way into the final.

But then again if one team is 3rd by quite a margin, and doesn't win the play-offs, it's a bit gay.

Personally I’m not fond of this rule (playoffs). It’s something that you can either empathize with or not.

I wouldn't be so sure, he's pretty high up in the fa, he did get the away goals taken away after we lost out on them as well.
