Moved to the Football section.
I'd say Henry or Vieira maybe.

Inter don't need Crespo, they have Martins, he really is something special and he's only 18!!! Does anyone know who Inter loaned Ventola to??

I only watched the goals go in but that was fun enough for me!

Argh, where do I begin? Well, actually, I missed the first-half due to transmission problems with the station that was showing it (very annoying) so I ended up watching the first 45 minutes of Juventus and Galatasaray (good match) before transmission finally returned a few minutes before the second half. As I'm eagely awaiting kick-off, it hits me, I see the scoreboard display, and I'm utterly gutted. A real sinking feeling. After the initial shock died away, my first thought was how we were going to get back from 3-0 against a team as defensively great as Inter? There was only a very small chance and, in the end, it didn't amount to much.
I've read some reports and it seems we had a good enough start until Lauren was left hapless for the first two goals and the third was a stupid error by Gilberto. Thierry missed a penalty, which could have made a difference, too.
The second half was definitely more promising. Inter laid back and got few chances, Cruz's free kick and Martins close-range fuck up come to mind. Kanu had that golden oppurtunity, from a great Cole pass, which he missed. Freddie had a few, Pires too. The final balls, generally, were pretty tame. Final crosses were lacking. Through balls enticing a low cross weren't up to par, either.
You have to hand it to Inter though, they played very, very well. We were out-classed. Didn't let us play our game.
As for best player, I'd go for K-Lo, easily. He was jumping around very impressively against the Inter attack and looked very sharp. On a night where Sol wasn't playing well, he did his job pretty well albeit the defense, in general, weren't exactly world class.
Vieira was everywhere, as usual.

Well i dont think ne1 can really pick out a best player from the crap that was on the pitch yesterday. They were sloppy, lazy and crap. They were crap at passing, ok they got a few gd chances near the start, but they died after inter scored and really the game was over then and there. But on a sort of larger look, not including last night, id say viera is there best player caus he has an extremly high work rate and is a great midfielder to have in a team.

Sloppy, yes. Crap, most likely. Lazy? Hardly. They worked their asses off to put some pressure on Inter in the second half but they were just too good.

I imagine it's not air fare. ;)
And judging by your recent gambling related posts, I'm guessing it has something to do with that? :)

Well, Sol, you're a very brave lad. You played on against a tough Italian side despite your father being seriously ill and now you are facing a major loss.
Sadly, Sol Campbell's father died today following a stroke on the eve of the Inter game. Sol fought on, but now, very understandably, he will miss the clash at Old Trafford and has been given all the time he needs off away from football.
My thoughts go out to him and his family. This must be very tough.
AS much as i dispise sol campbell, my thoughts are with his family today. I wouldnt really mind if sol was injured or suspended. But i would really like to see him play.

I echo the sentiments. It's very tough to lose a loved one.
I remember a few years back when ian walker played for spurs only 3 days after losing his mum. He conceeded 4 goals at anfield. Maybe its best that he doesnt play.

Shows you that there are a few things more important in life (and death) than football.
Do you remember Titi camara, the ex liverpool striker who scored then cried? His father died as well but he payed tribute to him by scoring the goal.
pictureperfect, actually it was Juventus - Galatasaray. It was a pretty good match indeed. Well, the score wasn't...

I wonder if Henry will have one of his t-shirt messages ready for when (and if) he scores. I expect a minute's silence at the start of the game.
I remember France's tribute to Marc-Vivien Foé after his death. Very touching.

Yes, yes, of course. Thanks for correcting that mistake. I had my mind on the Inter game and got the names muddled up.
On that game, I really thought Bülent was going to make it end 2-2 from the header near the end. The ball didn't look offside and he was very close. Alas, sometimes luck isn't with you. You're playing Febernache soon, right?
