Why not put Xavi and Mascherano on the same line and then push SWP and Robben one line above them?

:)

Seems odd the way you've got it set up at the moment.

Thoughts?

Mascherano is great in that position, but Xavi doesn't usually operate as a playmaker.

loren , better more experienced midfielders , one of the best defence in the league , and better strikers overall

OK I'll play Tevez with Rooney in future, at first I thought they were too similar but I realise that they would have a great patnership like Yorke and Cole back in 99, similar players but have a great understanding of each other and link up to perfection.

Loren would win this one. His defence is stronger, and so is his central midfield.

Defense?

Lorenzo could win this match, but it wouldn't be due to defensive abilities and remember the keeper people, no-one ever comments on that, I might of well picked Glen Johnson to go there.

I do feel his defence is stronger, the centre backs of each team are equally matched but his full backs are slightly better.

You do make a good point about the keeper though, because the keeper has never influenced my vote in any way, and I think this goes for a lot of other people as well.

2 very closely matched teams, but overall I feel Haribo would edge it. Both attacks are excellent and would create chances, but Haribo's defence is marginally better equipped to deal with the opponent's attack. Down the wings, I think SWP and Robben would cause more problems, as Zanetti is just about the best right back around to mark Nedved, and although Joaquin would give Jankulovski difficulties, Heinze and Salgado even on their best form might not be able to stop Robben and SWP. Also, with one of the most in-form 'keepers in Europe between the sticks, Cech could keep out most that's thrown at him.

Also, I agree with what has been said about keepers not being looked at when comparing teams, they are arguably the most important part of the team, and how they organise the defence and shot-stopping abilities would go a long way to determining how the match pans out.
