View Full Version : Half-Life/Half-Life 2
I know Half-Life isn't the newest of games as it originally came out in 98' on the PC but i got it about 1 month ago on the station and i think it's a better game, storyline is great just wondering whether there's anyone out there who shares my view. I know it is one of the biggest selling games of all time and i've read and seen some stuff about HL2 and they've actually had to invent a new system so the game can run on it. I mean this sounds dead good cause i've been told there's load of unanswered Q's at the end of this one but it doesn't look like it'll be out on the station anytime soon, any thoughts?

Half Life is undoubtedly one of the greatest games of all time. (I own it on the PC BTW) Looking forward to the release of HL2 although as you say it doesn't look like it's coming out for a while yet. :( Especially after reading an article on www.computerandvideogames.com. From the screenshots I've seen on the net and the vids, it's looking good. :)

Sorry anyway paul he just pissed me off, i've got Half-Life on the P2 i hadn't actually heard the game untill a couple of months ago but it's a class game just a bit gutted that they've made a system just to run the game but i've seen some screens that are really impressive

half life 2, halo 2 and doom 3 are gonna be the best games ever.
I've only had a quick go on Halo at me mates and it wasn't even walking round shooting stuff i was in some mad flying thing which was a bastard to control, good graphic though.

There are loads of add on's for Half Life, Opposing Force and Blue Shift to name a couple. I have Blue Shift, it's good, the story runs along with the one in the original but it's a very short game and didn't take me long to complete. Blue Shift includes an enhancement pack which makes the scientists and guards etc look more realistic, these changes actually affect the original game as well I believe.
Then theres the online game, Counterstrike, which I haven't played although I've heard it's another top notch HL game.
Team fortress is another good one
but there are loads of mods patches and stuff that are real big changes of the game

I don't think i'm goin to be playing on it for a while anyway after my order has been confirmed and posted by Play.com :D

half life 2 is in circulation , hackers got into the developers hq, so ts somewhere.

the game IS half life theyve just changed the character, map, gun, whatever images and that to make it a new game
and i definately dont belive that ^ - seen as the release has just been officially delayed
the game isnt even finished yet and would be unplayable

great. it was on game central on channel 4.
game cental used to be digitiser and its the best and most reliable games read out there.
I think i need to get me a better PC than the one i've got at home cause my PC is shite. Thats goin to be the only way to get a chance to play some different Half Life games i mean the PC at mine hasn't even got the net or a graphics to my knowledge it was actually just given to me.
anyway i read somewhere that the system for HL2 had been hacked but i think it could be a ploy by the company to bide their time cause they said it was goin to be done by September

HL2 has been delayed for april now. Ive played a demo thing for it and it is AMAZING!!! U can interacte with n e thing and u gotto use ya brain to kill things or to solve things. U've got this mad gravity gun which can lift things up like boxes, radiators, (u shoot the radiator 1st and then when its loose u get it) oh and n e thing in site.....LOL!! I played counterstrike and, i too had heard good things about it but when i played it i was dissapointed with tha gameplay and stuff. I thought to myself there is waaay betta online games like "soldier of fortune", "unreal tournament", battlefield 1946" etc etc; but then i was told that its a very old game consedering how old it was i thought it had preety good graphics!! Ivejust got max payne 2 and that tooooo is amazin, cant wait for HL2, Doom 3 and Halo 2!! :D :D

i know this is an old threead now but i have to agree with hammer, counter-strike is a boss game! Best online game ever i've been playing it for 3 years and im stil lnot finished with it
