im glad to see Richardson still in the squad as he has impressed this season and he can give us a different option and he's left footed
I thought Andy Johnson might be in but it would be hard now with Darren Bent playing well.

yeah Darren Bent is much better than Andy Johnson anyway

so alan smith is a surprise but peter crouch isnt, he hasnt scored a goal for fuck sake!
Good squad there. Dont agree with 'The Other' Neville being there tho. Beckham has just hit form so he deservadly will start.

He's injured. ;)
And there is no way Bent is better than AJ. AJ (alone up front mind you) managed to score 21 goals in a team which basically had no midfield and got relegated. Think before you jump on the Bent bandwagon as.

No Danny Murphy, thats a discrace. Hes been the best midfielder in the premiership this year. Sven Out, never really liked him!

He's not there to score 20 goals , hes there to knock the balls down for the goal scorers.

Crouch is a target man, he's there for everyone to aim for so he can nod the ball, flick the ball or whatever on to Defoe, Rooney.Owen.

Exactly and he does his job relatively well.
Heskey should be given a chance too, scored a few for Brum' and is a good target man too with decent pace and great strength.

what like he did for liverpool against chelsea yeah that would be great NOT bent would win just as many balls in the air as that lanky prick and he would probably score
Sutton would be a good targetman for England, in my opinion. Honestly (Im not just saying that 'cause Im a Celtic fan like)

Bent could really do damage from that injury table

Bent could really do damage from that injury table
what table all he got was a little bang on the head curbs said he will be fit for england
Murphy has done very well this season and deserves to be in the squad, but I doubt Sven would play him over Lampard or Gerrard, which is who'd make way for him.
I hope Sven puts Greeno on the bench unlike last time, because he makes a lot less errors than Kirkland plus he's been in the squad longer.
I think that Heskey should've been included, because no matter what people say he is a decent striker, and would be just as good or better than Crouch. Why not have them both and have two big strikers?
I also think that Nicky Hunt is a better right back than Luke Young. Not that Young is bad, mind.

Agree on all accounts there mate, exept maybe Nicky Hunt, I think hes great defensively. Still worth a try though with WC 2006 approaching.

Yeah, not to start but would be great cover atleast.

No Jamo in that England team. Stupid Sven. Blame it all on the keeper. Have a keeper who cant get in the Liverpool first team and a guy who plays in the lower league instead of someone whos experianced and a premiership first teamer. I think Crouch doesn't deserve to start. He's just a tall, white Heskey.

WHAT DOES SVEN SEE IN PHIL NEVILLE??
he's crap! He's given England NOTHING but bad luck! He sucks! On PES he is the only player I have put that rediculous monkey hairstyle on cos he deserves it!

I reckon the reason Parker wasn't picked was cos Sven's been playing PES5 and in the game Parker is down as a CMF and a SMF but not a DMF ;)
Hopefully Gerrard and Lampard can find out how to play together otherwise I reckon it's time to stick one on the left side at the expense of Cole and bring in a DMF.

Scott Parker should be in the squad rather than Phil Neville, as Carragher can cover at right back and Richardson at left back. I'd rather see Emile Heskey in the squad than Peter Crouch. Jermaine Pennant is unlucky not to be in the squad, he has been fantastic since joining Birmingham, but I suppose he won't get in no matter how well he plays as Joe Cole and Wright-Phillips play for Chelsea. Paul Konchesky has put in some brilliant performances for West Ham, and is also unlucky not to make the squad, although it's understandable because of Richardson's form, but we now have 3 good left-backs (4 for those who rate Wayne Bridge) who could all do a good job for England.
Good squad really, I am happy Alan Smith is in there.
I am also happy that Phil Neville is there too, he gets stuck in. Parker would have been a better choice than P.Neville like, just I'm a fan of his.
So with this squad in mind, what would you pick as a starting 11 ?

I'd have Carragher over Young at right-back, despite Carragher being far better in the centre, he is still better than Luke Young at right back. Usually, Ferdinand and Campbell is our best partnership, but as Ferdinand is in such poor form and Sol and Terry are in great form, they should start. Beckham obviously needs to start on the right after his recent performances for Real Madrid.

Good line-up but even though Ferdinand ain't on there he's a liability and he's hardly been convincing so I think Terry-Campbell is our best partnership anyway-solid defence and a high chance of goals. Why the hell Murphy ain't in the squad? Probably Sven can't in those glasses. Or more probably he's crap. And to the guy that said Crouch should start not for goals but for chesting and heading the ball down to Owen. That's just STOOPID. If want a big guy to cause havoc, just get James as an attacker.

No one said that, just that some one said that he shouldn't play because of he hasn't scored this season but its not his game to score 20+ a season.

I don't see why, you can count John Terry's excellent performances for England on one hand. The Ferdinand-Campbell partnership is probably the best in Europe alongside Cannavaro-Nesta. Terry has been in excellent form for Chelsea over the past year or two and is one of the best defenders in Europe now (although Campbell and Ferdinand are aswell), but that does not mean he should break up a partnership that has been superb for England, although he probably will, knowing Sven.

Probably will be the team but who will play up front in the first game since Rooney is suspended?

I was forgetting he was suspended, probably Jermaine Defoe then.

Overrated Richardson over Cole!?

Cole's injured. He will miss the Austria game, Stephen Warnock has been called up to replace him, but I assume Richardson will start at left-back now.

I think Richardson should be given the left-back role in these games as he's been playing well there for Man U. Also his attacking instincts will give us more bite than we ususally have

A.Cole is probably one of the first names in the starting line up for Sven, couldn't imagine him being dropped for an in-experienced Man Utd reject.
Heard that its Crouch who will start the game along with Owen.. wtf is in sven's mind this time? England need to win this, its no time for experimenting.. hope Crouch proves me wrong though..
that's quite a small number of full backs , more centre backs than fullbacks
