Summary of suggestions already made (updated April 24th, 2003):
- Names on backs of shirts (implemented in WE6 FE so this should be in PES3)
- Better commentary scripting
- Commentary from better commentators (such as Martyn Tyler, Clive Tyldsley or John Motson)
- More designs in the kit editor
- Ability to apply custom badges and sponsors to shirts
- Full leagues for the top leagues in europe such as La Liga, Premiership and Serie A
- Having the ability to put players on the transfer list in Master League
- Players refusing to extend their contracts at their current clubs and becoming free lance players
- Indoor stadium for 5 a-side
- More weather coditions, rainy and sunny arnt enough, how about snow, fog, hail, icy pitches
- The pitches to change quality through a match, ie if it is terrential rain the pitch should tear up and become very muddy
- Improved colour choice in kit editing, why only go up to 5 columns in kit editing when there is 7 in badge editing
- More control over the goalkeeper, perhaps by using Right Analog stick?
- Quicker thow-outs by goal keepers, you should not have to wait for the computer to decide when the best time to throw is, it should happen instantly when pressed... even if it does go to the wrong man
- Ability to have control of an attacking player when off the ball (ie. just before a goalkeeper kicks it out you should be able to try to charge it down)
- Ability for the goalkeeper to kick the ball up when it runs to him instead of always kicking it
- The goalkeeper should be able to drop the ball when he has possesion in his hands instead of having to kick or throw it
- Variation of goal/net structure in the different stadiums
- Referee and Linesman visable on screen
- Different colour kits for referees
- Free Kicks and Penatlies given for handball (which does appear to happen quite a lot in the game but free kicks are never given)
- Less Free Kicks given for challenges which are seemingly non-human controlled such as the "Push" fouls
- Dirt appearing on kits as the match goes on
- Some form of tactics management screen where you can define custom set-play moves (ie. decide which players go forward for corners)
- Ability to send the goalkeeper forward for corners in the final minute for example
- More stadiums
- A new tackling system
- Ability to transfer players between clubs
- More realistic crowd chants
- Improved AI defence's, and easier defending for human players
- Proper looking 3D crowds, no more of the flat cardboard looking fans. At least make them sit down and stand up.
- No more auto-filling of the shoot bar when attempting to play a long pass
- Animations such as those for substitutes and managers should be added
- Bigger range of support flags, not just the club badge
- 3D stewards and cameraman instead of the cardboard cut-outs
- A volley stat so that players who can volley well, the ball will go closer to the goal than players with a bad volley stat. As it stands it seems like luck whether or not the ball goes close when you volley.
- More varied injuries ranging from niggly kicks to full blow broken legs also what about accidental collisions
- Improved shooting animation; players really connect with the ball and both legs leave the ground to generate the power.
- In Master League, you can use your points not only to sign players, but to improve your stadium, thus get more fans coming to your matches, providing you with extra revenue.
- Ability to call players up to the national squad without having to base copy them first
- Penalty kicks should be like normal freekicks (using the power bar, adding curve or power, high or low) That would be more realistic than the current penalty kick system that's been going on in the WE series for some years now
-Club teams should have three or four uniforms depending on which team... for example home and away for the league and home and away for european competitions (Roma)
- Real time: instead of having the option day or night, it would be better to have a range of time say 12 noon to 9pm, in this way the shadows in the stadiums would change and the light of the day would also change if I star playing a match at 5pm (daylight) after halftime I would be playing the match at sunset, and a few minutes later at night
- Dirty socks and shorts after slide tackling and falling down in rainy weather
- Hair colors should be more natural and not so solid and rich
- Different size pitches (Highbury small and pitch, Nou Camp large pitch, etc, etc)
- Being able to select with which foot I'm going to take a set piece with (for "both footed" players or certain both footed players).
- Better computer management. For example in the last minutes if their team is winning they could bring off strikers for defenders, especially if under pressure.

i think the most important update for the next pes would have to be the licenses and national leagues. i would also like to see -a bigger database of players
-Having the ability to put players on the transfer list
-players refusing to extend their contracts at their current clubs and becoming free lance players
-how about an inside stadium for 5 a-side.
-more weather coditions, rainy and sunny arnt enough, how about snow, fog, hail, icey pitches.
-the pitches to change quality through a match, ie if it terrential rain the pitch should tear up and become very muddy.

i think the 5-a-side indoor idea would be amazing. this hasnt been in a decent footie game since fifa 97. every good game since (other than crap like puma street soccer etc) seems to have over looked the idea of 5-a-side games. and i also agree with pitch quality changing, i think something like this was in actua soccer 3 (i remember players sliding in and leaving a mark on the pitch which was a good idea).

I THINK BEING ABLE TO CHOOSE THE TEAMS FOR THE MASTER LEAGUES AND CHOOSING HOW MANY LEAES WOULD BE GOOD. ie having 5 leagues of 8.(sorry bout the caps) ps does ne 1 know what isthe name of pele in the classic brazil team

I think Pele's name is Perles
By the way hitmanuk2k keep up the good work... this is a blinding site so don't let it fold.... I'd offer to help if I had any idea of webdesign.
As for suggestions the 5 -a-side is a blinding idea. Also the FIFAPro Licence is a must. Not ground breaking ideas I know... when I think of anything else I'll let you lot know.

Hi guys!!
Well first thing to say I'm happy sgo forum got back.
i've have already read all new interesting changes kcetyo has apported to fe.
Fortunately they have made lots of things i've hoped to see in the game which already is getting across perfection and It's really a killing curiosity to see what could be implemented more in pes3.
Compliments apart, i'm especially involved to gameplay, if also kit editing, badges, commentary, leagues and everything included in the fashion of game is important, but it seems in something of these things to have already been satisfied in we6fe. Don't you? (Names on shirts or colors to put on boots..)
For example I've read about sidedefenders attacking, new options of challenge between attacker and defender and a more physical contact, a faithful curving response which on me is lacking in pes2; why don't use a button to curve together the joystick, so you wouldn't have problem to govern trajectory of ball and the player receiver, pressing r1, could run in the best position to shoot on goal.
Personally i'd like to see a more real way to volley ball with a foot planted onto the ground instead to see players exploding in a fly kick, which is rare in a match.
Probably substitute volleys with bycickle kicks which give more satisfaction.
Another thing could be the time to press the square button when taking the shoot, it could respond in the right time you press it, so it will oblidge you to be tempestive, neither a second before to miss the ball, nor a second after to be anticipated.
I would implement dribblies like "veronica" (fast turning round) or drags inside, tossing ball with round circle without giving a direction as in iss64, or the chance to toss ball across the player to avoid defender pressing.
A more speedy response of players in general which lose time, on
me, controlling the ball when try to dribble; lob balls and shots reach too fastly the max speed; I lose too many ball when I press l1 with right analog stick, or kicking with the unpreferred foot of players.
Oh, someone complaint the fact that console crashes sometimes while editing, or loading second half? It sometimes happens to me...
Colors have to be more brilliant when you edit them.
Something else at next time. Good bye, have nice new year and thanks for your attention also if you think i've said stupid things.

What Konami should do is combine FIFA and PES.
ie. all the glits'n'glammer from fifa with pes2,
official kits, names, stadia, squads, sponsers, leagues etc.
EDIT MODE:
They should expand the edit mode too. because David Beckham and Freddie Ljungberg change their hair so often they don't always have the right style so, you have to settle for a similar . And maybe you should be able to put more than one hair style one a player. like in the Smack Down games, for example David Beckham's hair in the World Cup was light brown with a blonde mohawk. So in theory you could put a light brown french crop for hair style one and a blonde mohawk for hair style two. Also there's a hair colour that isn't on the game. Steven Gerrard has this colour. It's slightly browny grey-ee colour. All the browns on the game are either too rich or too dark. You should also be able to edit the keeper's uniform and club teams should have more than two kits because Man U, Liverpool, Arsenal and quite a few other european clubs have a 1st, 2nd and 3rd strip, and one other thing SPONSERS!!!
In the kit/team editor the colours ARE NOT RICH ENOUGH! Black is not black it's extremly dark grey and navy blue is nowhere near navy, its dark royal blue.
Another thing, why is it Liverpool and Manchester can be called by their names but Arsenal and River Plate are called London and Buenos Aries?
Also why is it they can put Adidas on the Japan kit but Argentina, Sweden, Turkey, Spain, Germany and all the other countries that have a kit made by Adidas don't have it on?
ANIMATION:
They should also do something about the shooting animation, because the shooting animation in PES is much better than PES2. I'm primeraly talking about the animation where the player just blasts the ball and the force of him shooting makes him swing his legs 90 degrees and jump completely off the ground and land on his shooting foot. Which is the way Aston Villa's Hitselsperger shoots.
Also when you chip the goal keeper the player animation could be better it should be like David Beckham's against Macedonia and you should be able to curl the ball round the keeper like Michael Owen and Thierry Henry does and they should include an animation that is like the way people shoot or play a long ball, where the player just knocks the ball out of his feet and then kicks it. Just like every player does and has done since football was invented.
There is another thing I've noticed, when a player takes a free kick or a shot rebounds off someone the player that kicked the ball will just stand there and watch the ball be dibbled or kicked away! This is extremely frustrating! Especially if the player that kicked the ball is the closest to the defending player because you can't tackle him so he's free to clear the ball!!
There should also be a free kick where one player will lay the ball off a short distance for a player the blast at goal, ie. Didi Hamann, John Arne Risse and Alan Shearer because that free kick is used alot in football but no game has it! And a free kick animation like Ronaldinho's against England in the World Cup.
SOUND:
The crowd sound in PES2 is far better then PES but I still feel that Konami can improve on this vastly. They should make normal matches a bit more intense with a constant crowd noise that is quite loud and in derby matches they should take their cue from La Liga matches between Real Madrid and Barcelona which is the best derby match in the world. Also when players score the crowd celebration should be louder and when an attacking player goes on a run and takes past a couple of players to deliver a cross, open himself up for a shot or plays a through ball the crowd should say "GO ON" in unison because EVERY crowd at a football match does this and it'll really add to the atmosphere!
And finally just general things like more club teams or there should be national leagues like The Premiership and La Liga. More internaional teams and you should be able to play international quailfiers like for the World Cup or Euro Cup etc.
The Official Adidas Ball would be good too!!
P.S. MAKE IT AN OFFICIALLY LICENSED GAME!!
Anyway even if they don't put these improvements in I'm sure Konami will yet again find some way of making PES3 far superior then PES2.
Nice year to everyone on SGO!
I haven't had the pleasure to test WE6FE, but i've only read about his great improvements.
Well, I've played an entire afternoon to Virtua Striker 2002 on Gamecube and i've appreciated the general atmosphere of the match, but in particular that groovy way to underline the presence of grass with players feet and ball a bit sunk in the ground and ralented by the natural friction, demonstrating a fatiguing in moves.
I hope that a similar feeling could be captured in next version of pes.
Aside graphics, I'd like to have a prompter response in dribbles and especially in passes, to cut the distance and prevent anticipations.
The selection cursor could be applied also to keeper to attempt manual saves and manual positioning on corners or freekicks.
It could seem a complication, but keeper, on me is boss of the box and could better express his authority if controlled like a normal player.
I'd distinguish keeper funcion buttons to serve mates, x for ground manual pass, circle for mid-air pass and square for punt and the amount of curve to put. Maybe triangle to play ball with foot. Also the obligity to release the ball in the 6 seconds, to avoid the penalty kick.
In sunny days they could wear cap..
In set-pieces, I'd implement a new way to aim, maybe with a golf swingomenter or something like this, to precalculate direction, power, curving and height. In a freekick or corner, curving after kicking is a bit unreal; is more plausible during in-game situations because of continuity and complexity of action.
I've always dreamed to see in a game the difference between a field and another one not only by grass stylemaking or stadium structure, but also from nets colours and goals type.
Strictly in terms of gameplay, to me is better have one button to sprint in all directions consented and use the others for dribbles and feints, especially the shot feint, which is too hard to perform in rush time, pressing "square and pass", frequently causing a simple shot. Shoulder buttons are safer.
A chance to jump freely, opportunately to stop crosses from side of the box; the possibility to touch or deflect the ball with hand and for cleverest and scared players like Inzaghi and Cassano, the fowl simulation.
To exagerate, dirt on kits and bodies after a ruinous fall and the overclass heel lift.
Lot of these things have already been implemented in Iss series, but well mixed and overhauled, would confer more interactivity, increasing casuality and reality to the game which, in spite of all, is lot more than just a videogame...

i think there should be a new option in the formation section where u can allocate how many players go up for corners. ive noticed that on my crners only 3/4 players go up for the corners. This is not good if its the 90th minute and iam losing. And how about an option where u can chuck everyone up for a corner aswell as the goalie. It would be brilliant scoring a last gasp goal wth your keeper to stay up or win the league etc etc.

How about a stadium editor?, so you could make your own stadiums. This would be brilliant, you could make the stadiums of the team that you support. There is a option like this on LMA manager. it has like 40 stands to coose from, you can make your own unique sadiums or try to recreate your own clubs. This would mean that liverpool, westham and chelsea could have their own stadiums and not have to play at the north east stadium. And secondly it would be good if you could name your new stadiums. This would mean that you can name all the current stadiums on the game to their real names, i.e. turn red brick stadium into old trafford.
And i think their should be more designs in the kit editor, there is very little to choose from. A option like in this is footbal should be taken, where you can overlap designs to make the most outragas designs possible.
What if they could put in a layer potion mode for the kits? This way they wont have any lisence problems..It could work like the way in works for the edit flag options. You could yust tipe O2 or vodafone in the chest...what do you think?

Does anybody know if there is a cheat or gameshark thing to add new and original kits to pes2?? I have seen pictures of the game with original kits and real names for the stadiums...dont know if its pes2..
I like what all the other people have said about adding original kits, stadiums, names etc. I also like the point about the players falling to easy, the entire tackling system needs upgrading! This is the stuff I would like to see fixed:
1: Uniforms with sponsors.
2: Better comentary
3: New tackling system.
4: More stadiums.
5. Better graphic.
6: More crowd chants, reactions etc.
7: Transfere between clubs.
8: Nationale league w/league cup.
9: CHAMPIONS LEAGUE!!!!!!!!
10: And please add more options to the ingame music! Also the replay music makes me go insane somtime...:)
Ps: Pes2 is far the best soccer game I have ever played!!!

yeh, tackles are a disgrace!
as for kits, if you have an xport you can download option file updates, but you cannot get proper kits on pes2, not with sponsors anyway. well, you may be able too by editing the bin files etc. but i have no idea how to do that. post in the editing forum asking for help if you wanna try.

Well, I would like to see more dribbling moves. That would be great. There are many new tricks that can be added, and that would surely improve authenticity.
Keepers must be carded like any other field players, and more prone to going for a ball and droping the player thus causing a penalty. That's important too.
The DPS (Dribbling shooting passing) models shpuld be easy to master, and the difficulty level raised even more. Give us a good challenge.
AI should be done in a way that teams play like in real life. Man Utd, for example, should play a lot of wing attacks. Ajax should play short clever passes, Juventus should play a solid game, finely balanced between attack and defence. Match the styles of the teams in real life to that of the CPU.
Individual players should also play like in real life. Beckham should be a quick passer-thinker, and always looking to send a good long ball of a wonderful insightful cross. Alessandro Del Piero should play in a very imaginative style, combining Clever passes, rainbow shots and wonderful skill moves. And so on...
It's a lot of research, and I would love to help.
Signature scoring celebration ways for star player would be nice. A better looking audience with more songs could add a lot to the atmosphere.
Easy-to-control 1-2 passing method is a must.
Improved off the ball movement is also important. When players who are not in your control at a specific time spot a good place to run they should start running and signle with their hands or shout something, like in real life.
More flexibility in formations and tactics is important, as well as individual orders for players. (support more defence or support more offence, marking, tell a defender to go into the box to score from set plays, etc)
Good foot - Rivaldo, for example, should not be able to shoot well with his right foot, whether you're controlling him or the CPU is.
Assigned captain is important.
More injuries to players, mainly in very cold weather when it's easy to get injured.
Referees should know that fouls aren't just mistimed sliding tackles, but also small things sometimes. Excessive shirt pulling, for example. Use real games to see what I mean.
Getting past the keeper in 1-on-1 situations should be there. Keepers are usually in the forward's mercy in real life, so why not here? Chipping the ball over a keeper should also be a part of the shooting system.
A more interactive transfer system would be nice. If a player is discontent with too few playing minutes in his club, then he would be more willing to transfer.
When the next game is released, rosters must be well updated, unlike what happened in PES 2, as Ronaldo was still an Inter player.
Add Euro or Copa America to the tournaments if possible.
Career mode - Seasons go by and players age, new players pop up, etc.

I fully agree about the one-two system, it has to be easier thatn it is now. Wasn't it L1+X in ISSProEvo? That was a great system even though it was a little easy to get past defenders with it. Surely it would be better to increase the defenders awareness of this tactic instead of making the move more difficult to perform?

you are joking, right?
the one 2 system is awesome! the old isspe2 system was poor. now you can control when you want to play the one 2 and everything, its great. you can even do it multiple times so you have players running all over which completely baffles the defence. the old one 2 didnt require much effort and was not very rewarding in my opinion.
1st off i think before adding little extras like pitch deteriating and such they should fix all the main problems first.
One thing that really pisses me off and never happens in real football and is so simple to do is when you have a freekick and press pass it SHOULD go to the player. What kind of smuck would miss his player 5 ft away and give it to the opposition. I also think you should be able to pick who you pass to.
Another thing that should be changed is keepers use their feet to save much more often. When the ball is shot right to the side of them they try to dive on top which is obviously impossible when they could just block it with their feet.
Defending should definitely be made alot easier, now the attacker just has to press up down left or right fast and he will find a way past to the defender who is helpless.
The AI needs a hell of alot improving like when your on a fast break they should really sprint instead of jogging to get in the box. The defending AI should also needs to be vastly improved instead of just splitting when an attacker is running at them leaving them with a easy goal
This is all i can think off at the mo but i'm sure i will find more when i next play. I for one would much rather this lot fixed than eye candy for the game.........but thats just me

What is the new one 2 system, Hitman? I get by very well without it but it's always good to get another string in yer bow...or something...
Do you hold L1 and then pass with x, and then press x again when you want to return the pass? Does the original player run into space then? Or is it L1 then triangle?
Please enlighten me as I have a tournament on Sunday 16th Feb and I would really like to "sparkle out there"!;)
Well i've just come back from the field and have found some more bugs or stupid game making that really needs to be sorted.
For starters i hate how at random the wall will not jump with a freekick and just watch it go in the back of the net. I don't know a team in the world who would do that. This is supid game making and who ever thought they should put this in should be shot.
I also hate how they will sometimes not pay attention to where you want to go. You could press down but they would go diagnol down and then down but other times would just come straight down. This is pretty stupid and shows you never have 100% control of the players.
Another point is the AI on changing player for you. This is appauling you will be just about to intercept the ball or have a defender coming across and it will change it to someone who has no affect on the situation. This has lost me many a goal.
The fouls are also appauling aswell sometimes there greatly timed but a foul is given. Others are a really bad challenge but this time it isn't given. The worst for me is how they come running through the back of you. In real life this would be given for a foul everytime.
With all these bugs and appauling out of date players. I mean fifa came out the same day but had all the rosters to a key. I really think Konami have been lazy this edition with the appaulingly bad kits and rosters. IMO this is a step back for the PES series........which i am very sad to say:(
The licensing needs sorting. I'd also love to be able to play English Prem and Div 1, 2, 3 in the master league. Can't they do a deal with the Championship Manager boys to feed in the data and keep it up to date? The edit mode should be restructured - pool of editable players, who you can then assign to club and country. Presentation overall is poor.
Gameplay is the key thing though.
Tackling needs to be improved, especially pressuring a player. To counter it, I'd like to see L1 used to shield the ball, both in possesion and letting the ball run out of play.
Crosses need to be whipped in more, with my strikers making runs to the near post. Automatic curl on crosses and shots for players with high curling ability kciking with their good foot.
Duration of button presses - I hate doing a long ball to find that it has decided I will fill the bar to max. Set pieces could be better, e.g. free kicks with pre-set plays.
Shooting could be improved. Pulling the joystick away from goal to keep the shot down is not intuituive to me - to me that should be used to lift it over the goalie. If you are unpressured, then pointing towards goal and hitting the button hard shouldn't automatically blast the ball over the bar. Same with headers - should be easier to header downwards. I'd rather see greater percentage of hooking and slicing for players with poor shooting ability or under defensive pressure.
Through balls - crucified in PES2.
Still, love the game!

I think coach and bench animations should be added, as well as referees and linesmens..
More players should also have caracteristics moves like beckham and roberto carlos. Figo's hunchback style, etc....
Player's hair could move while running and turning..
I think in pes3/we7 should exist the option to play "league-mode" with club-teams either, or the "round-robin in konami-cup" in a full-season mode (first half-season and second half-season, home and away) to play like in real national-leagues!
what's it worth having the whole teams of a national league downloaded or hardly self-constructed and then there is no possibility to play a full season, that's boring...
or does it even exist in pes2 and i haven't found out yet? don't think so, what about we6fe?
nice day
OK here are some improvements for pes3 I'll try not to say ideas that was already mentioned
1) obviously better commentery , actually a new commentator would be better
2) better crowd reactions. if the home team is winning then maybe the crowd could cheer every pass after 60, 70 minutes
also crowd chants and songs like in fifa 2003 and if the crowd chanted players names such as 'KEANO' etc
crowd could look better too
3) better edit kits option, like this is football 2003
4) how about getting rid of the flags in the corner of the screen and replacing it with the actual names for the scoreboard.
5)shots and long passes should be much faster. maybe in the options you could speed up or slow down gameplay
6) in fifa if u press L1 then a player makes a run perhaps something similar in pes3
7) better graphics with camera men at intro
8) referees and lines men. and in injury time the 4th official could hold up the board indicating how longs left
9) design international kits and design boots
10) design-a-club
11)transfers. there should be a option where you can update teams.
eg. rio ferdinand went to united but u cant really change it
PS CAN ANY OF OUR IDEAS BE SENT OFF TO KONAMI

All great ideas........I would like to see a new system implemented that deals with the stupid pause after being tackled.
It would be better with a new system whereby the players react differently according to how tired they are. At the beginning of the match they would get tackled but immediately turn and try and win the ball back just like in real life, but after the 70th minute, or when the energy bar is low, they should just give up every now and again. This could also be related to the players aggressivness.
What do you think? Not that hard to implement into the game is it?:)
The free-kick replays from the side (?) need to be removed before I go mad.....what is the point when the camera can't keep up?

i think that designing international club kits is a must, and so is an extended editing mode which allows modification of the player commentary.
I will update the first page of the suggestions soon...

I definately think that KONAMI should ditch the manual pass and make the R3 button a manual skill button. Depending on the movment of your player in relation to the direction the R3 button will determine a shimmy, or a Nutmeg, somthing like that anyway? what do you lot think?
I also think they should add some of the lower leagues, ie the Nationwide etc. taking you team from the depths of division3 or playing in the FA Cup is far more exciting than playing a shoddy world league. whether they design it as part of the game make-up or whether they include it in the editing suite i dont care but they should at least give you the option.
And finally, please sombody tell KONAMI to sort out the Commentary and Team Call names, Arsenal are Arsenal not London!!!!! as are Cetic, Cetic and not Celt!!!

What about a volley stat? Unless the ball goes straight to a player at waist height they don't do a decent power volley. Most of them tend to just poke a leg at the ball as the cross comes in. The likes of Robbie Carlos, Shearer and Hasselbaink would power it in.
1)The game does need more skills but only the selky players such as Aimar,Zidane,Rivaldo,Henry etc should have the ability to perform tricks at a hifg standard.
2) It needs a full liscence to allow for proper leagues such as the premiership, la liga, and serie A, but the master league should remain, as it is just pure quality.
3) refs and linesmen should be on the pitch, offside decsions should be controversial sometimes. And the anger should be shown from the bench with more animations as well as dis-allowed goals.
4) Payers should improve with age in championship manager way, o player such as Jenas, Rooney, Saviola stats will improve as they grw older.
Is there any way KONAMI CAN SEE OUR SUGGESTIONSger

As far as I know, Hitman is going to send the finished list of sugestions to Konami. He better get a move on though, Pro Evo 3 is released in November 2003.
Any chance of a final edition to print out and compare with the game when it's released?:)
all these suggestions are fantastic,
o woul d aldso like to see an option to adjust how left/right foted a player is, since frequently a player like van nistelooy who can score with either foot in rela life, will frequently fluff it in the game, while vieri who CANT use his right can still score.
HEADERS MUST BE IMMPROVED.
Vieri, nistelrooy, kluivert do NOT miss headers. Frequently in the game they cant even connect. Very frustrating.
wow lot's of great ideas there guys here's a few ideas i'd like to see
1.More varied injuries ranging from niggly kicks to full blow broken legs also what about accidental collisions
2.The ability for defenders to pull strikers shirts maybe have it where by the longer you hold the button the longer the player pulls the shirt obviously hold it too long the striker will go down maybe implement a dive option as well.
3.what about going to the corner flag and putting your foot on the ball to shield it i've seen this in Fifa
4.2 footed tackles
a more responsive dummy a lot of times you'll try this only to find it seems to take an age to get control of your player
5.zidan'e 360 swivel obviously only for the highly skilled player's
6.ability to chest the ball down on PES on PS 1 you can only head the ball when it's in the air never bring it down on your chest
Do you think KONAMI should implement new formations (or formation variations) and new positions in WE7? So far from what I've read, it seems that now we're going to be able to have wingers in the midfield like in real life formations (e.g 4-4-2)...
For starters I would like to see the default 3-5-2/3-4-3 formations corrected for once and for all. The real life formations have wingbacks and not sidehalfs...this will force the creation of a new position: wingback (duh!)...so no more unrealistic positions for players like R. carlos SB/SH------instead R.Carlos WB/SB... J. Zanetti is more suitable for an SB/WB/SH given that he can play in midfield in a 4-4-2 in real life...and so on
I know some people are going to say that all of this can be done by postion edit, fwd arrows, etc...but like in real life if there are WG'S nad SH's, I also expect to have WB's and SB's....
I also would like to see this new position: the 2nd striker/ the man behind the main striker...and therefore the famous 4-4-1-1 formation... again people are going to say that all of this can be done by postion edit, fwd arrows, etc either modifying the 4-5-1 or the 4-4-2....but again this type of player (it's actually more of a role) is not quite a natural OH (Zidane) or a natural CF (Ruud van Nistelrooy) is something more like in between (a half forward maybe?--- "HF"--- hehe). I'm talking about Raul, Jose Mari, Bergkamp, Totti, Del Piero...therefore Raul: HF, Kluivert: CF/HF, Bergkamp: HF/CF, Totti: HF/OH, Scholes: CH/OH/HF...and so on... given that it is a role it would be more like a position that you directly modify in the formation menu (like when playing with a lib or a sw) son by pressing to the rght or to the left when a CF is highlighted it will change...
These are my ideas sort of...

My Pes3 Suggestions
-First of all put Tottenham Hotspurs in the game, they are one of the more famous teams from the Premiership and they dont seem to be on the game!
-One other improvement that should be implimented into pes3 is most definately the kits and player liscenses having full fifpro liscenses,as a lot of people that prefer the fifa series prefer it because of the full player liscensing, and to make the kits as accurate as possible i.e the numbers and names from the particular league that they play in maybe even sponsors but thats not an essential the way the kits look and the names/numbers are most important
-More stadiums and atmosphere chants for the teams maybe some of the songs that the fans actually chant!!!, and pitch ageing so during the master leaue the pitch will be ripe and green at the begginin but the more use and the more damaged it becomes and also in the rain big chunks would be broken off! thats all I have for now but more will come soon!

Also with the new game i dont personally think that having shirt pulling and handball options will help the flow of the game none of your mates cheating there way to victory taking whats so special about pes out of the game just keep this in mind thanx!!

tottenham are very average, no offence. if only 64 of the best teams from the world can be in pes3.... i really have to question whether spurs deserve to be one of them.
as for licenses.... ive said it before and ill say it again. konami cant just go out and buy a license like they would candy.... its not only very expensive, but also hard to obtain since fifa will be reluctant to give it to any one other than the ea games.

special abilitis for some players, like zidane, veron and rui costa's 360 swivel;
also, diferent dribbling style as in real life for the most famous players (figo's hunchback, raul's face down, zidane legs spread, etc...);
a refere, linesmans and bench action;
and no more those stupid breaks of the players that are near the ball and just stand there looking with no reaction .

My suggestions:
- Improved shooting animation; players really connect with the ball and both legs leave the ground to generate the power. Also, when players chip the keeper, they don't just stop dead, but rather keep on jogging off to the side, like Beckham against Macedonia, making it look more stylish.
- Obviously, improved kits, rosters and licensing
- Ability to do the cheeky chip down the middle of the goal when taking a penalty
- Signature moves; Zidane 360, Henry chip-and-volley, Rivaldo chest and bycicle kick, Ronaldo superquick-stepover, Okocha's shimmy, Brazilian's Elastico maneouver
- In Master League, you can use your points not only to sign players, but to improve your stadium, thus get more fans coming to your matches, providing you with extra revenue.
- Improved volley system; when a player with high technichal and balance ability (bergkamp, henry, zidane) receives, say, a chest-high ball they are able to control the ball into the air, and volley it with REAL power. Not the crappy bobblers seen in PES2. Perhaps players could have a volley stat. Maybe something like the volleys in Fifa World Cup 2002, except more realistic.
- Ability for skilled players to flick high balls over opponents heads and run behind them Matt Le Tissier style.
- Players with extremely high technique stats can bring long balls down dead almost immediately. I was using Thierry Henry in PES2, who has a technique stat of 96, yet he still seems to take ages to control a simple chipped pass. Players with his skill should be able to take high balls on their chest, knee, or foot in their stride without losing alot of speed. A perfect example is when Solskjaer takes a long ball on his chest in real life. He takes it IN HIS STRIDE and the ball drops to his feet perfectly without a significant drop in pace.
- Implement a new star ability, called style. Players with this star simply ooze class and are able to do certain skills unique to that player that no other player can do.
- Unique player movement eg. Zidane's loping stride, Rivaldo's ungainly but effective movement, Figo's hunchback style, Vieira's gallop, Henry's gliding strides, Owen's arms swinging at his sides
- Ability to transfer players between club teams without hassle
- Ability to call players up to the national squad without having to base copy them first
- Better commentary; Martin Tyler, John Motson. I would just love to hear specific commentary for big teams eg. "Real Madrid are considered by many to be best club in the world. They have a tradition of excellence spanning a century, and possess some of the finest players on the planet. Let's see what their opponents can do stop the Spanish masters", or "Arsenal's football is some of the most attractive you'll see in England, and they are real contenders for major honours."
Also, commentators could really talk up big cup finals, perhaps show both teams paths to the finals, and some highlights of both team's campaigns.
- You actualy get to train promising players, in a kind of mini-game like the Umbro PTC, where the higher point score you get, the more attributes you can assign to the promising player.
- Certain strikers making more intelligent runs in behind the defence . In PES2, I find that most strikers just sit on the defensive line right next to their marker, making it near impossible to slide a ball through without it getting intercepted. Perhaps an 'attack movement', or 'attack awareness' stat could be introduced, so that certain strikers (eg. Owen, Henry, Solskjaer) bend their runs, make runs along the back line of the defence before peeling off, and pull out wide before cutting back in, leaving the responsibility of timing the through ball or chip to the user controlled player. This would make the through ball system alot more rewarding, and would also make for some stylish goals. All too often I find in PES2 that I can't put a decent ball through because my strikers are too static, and I finally get up to the 18-yard box only to be crowded out due to lack of space. More intelligent striker runs would be a very good idea to prevent this. Imagine someone like Henry, running along the backline into a space between two defenders, then starts to bend his run. As soon as you see him start to do that, hit ^, or L1+^ to put a ball through perfectly for him, and he leaves the defence for dead as he accelerates towards goal, just like in real life. Conversely, AI defence might need to be stepped up a notch to counter such movement, with defenders dropping off and keeping an eye on the runner, but only the most intelligent and quick strikers will be able to make the most effective runs. It would also make it alot more fun to defend against such runs, with the user controlled player having to judge when the opponent's striker is about to peel so that they can effectively play an offside trap or drop off and try to cut out the though ball.
- Ability to edit the names of the stadiums
Penalty kicks should be like normal freekicks (using the power bar, adding curve or power, high or low) That would be more realistic than the current penalty kick system that's been going on in the WE series for some years now....players should also take runs before they kick like in real life (Short runs: F. de Boer/Figo; Long runs: van Nistelrooy; Maybe some personal run styles for Rivaldo, Figo, Beckham )
-Instead of having only the classic uniform selection (home/home, home/away, away/home, away/away) there should be the classic uniform selection plus an option to combine all of the uniforms parts (shirts, socks, shorts) the way you like to simulate real life kit clashing (holland all in orange, inter in white shorts, man u with black shorts, france all in blue, etc)
-Club teams should have three or four uniforms depending on which team... for example home and away for the league and home and away for european competitions (Roma)
-Short socks (Veron, Blanc, Riise) accesories such as wristbands (Kluivert, Kovacevic) ,ankle wraps (Zidane), etc
-Real time: instead of having the option day or night, it would be better to have a range of time say 12 noon to 9pm, in this way the shadows in the stadiums would change and the light of the day would also change if I star playing a match at 5pm (daylight) after halftime I would be playing the match at sunset, and a few minutes later at night
Dirty socks and shorts after slide tackling and falling down in rainy weather and slide tackling and falling down in normal weather after several times----in this case it will be like 10 /12 times (like in euro 2000, ea game by the way, hehe )
-Accurate player models please!!!!!! no more monkeys, chubby/fat players or big butts please !!!!!!!
-Hair colors should be more natural and not so solid and rich
-Pitches were improved in WE6FE, but some night pitches are still way too dark (Amsterdan Arena, Highbury, Old Trafford, Nacional de Santiago Yokohama and what's up with Kashima soccer stadium's ugly ugly night pitch?)...also please elimate crappy looking fields (South africa stadium)
-I would love to see more stadiums and more realistic ones maybe 5 more or so, cause I know it's hard to have a zillion stadiums... especially I would love to see Stade de France back that's one of my favourite stadiums ever... Different size pitches (Highbury small and pitch, Nou Camp large pitch, etc, etc)
-Players should be right or left footed only (no more both feet) with an "opposite foot accuracy" stat (that would involve passing, shooting, dribbling, etc). This would be much more realistic (no more rivaldo or f. de boer kicking ocassionaly with their right foots, raul with his right or beckham with his left perhaps sometimes like in real life).
Also, I would like to be able to select with which foot I'm going to take a set piece with (for "both footed" players or certain both footed players). Therefore, we could have a new star/special ability like "PK/FK/CK both feet shoot" ability...Did anyone watch the Ajax- Milan Cahmpions League first leg? Late in the match wesley sneijder took 2 consecutive corner kicks, one from the right side with his left foot, and the other one from the left side, with his right foot...I haven't seen anyone do that since maldini at milan back in the early 90's, it was great!
So it would be sort of like this:
Maldini--foot:L /opp foot acc: 90/ PK/FK/CK both feet shoot special stat
Nedved--foot:R /opp foot acc: 93/ no special ability
Zidane--foot:R /opp foot acc: 96/ no special ability
Rivaldo--foot:L /opp foot acc: 56/ no special ability
Del Piero--foot:R /opp foot acc: 83/ no special ability
Ronaldo--foot:R /opp foot acc: 87/ no special ability
Overmars--foot:R /opp foot acc: 96/ PK/FK/CK both feet shoot special stat
and so on...

this ideas are awesome and it would be brilliant if they wer granted. another addition tho is more commentary names and the ability to edit commentary names ie.. dutch players (if u look in the commentar names ther are names that sound similar to the proper name, "daves" sounds like "davids" and "ronny de boo" meant to be "r.de boer")

All tings mentioned here are great but i really have 1 major request for konami and i think i havnt heard it here. Let us choose more than one human player in the masterleague mode PLS PLS KONAMI This is really one simple option and has only be able to do in one soccer game i know of and thats sensible soccer.
Soccer games are the best games if you can play it with youre friends by choosing a little club in division 3 and both with a different club and try to go to the premier division. THATS all i am asking for now

This is a suggestion EL CHE made on the Soccer Gaming ISS/WE/PES forum.I think this is an important suggestion.I edited it to make it sound plausable. Here is EL CHE's suggestion.
I think if Konami and the guys who make This Is Football/World Tour Soccer series got together it would be sooo cool... forget EA I mean the This Is Football/World Tour Soccer has way more leagues plus lower divisions.Just imagine all those leagues with the Winning Eleven 6 Final Evolution gameplay??WOW..even the editing options would be cool. For e.g. the kits from World Tour Soccer(guys who own this or TIF know what i mean) would be terrific..also when it comes to player options Winning Eleven 6 Final Evolution has way more options. Now just imagine those options with the realistic face and player models of World Tour Soccer/This Is Football?
I'll add some info of my own to this great suggestion.I would sure like it if 989 Sports/Sony,Konami and Sports Interactive games combine for the Winning Eleven series only.Since they all have games of their own and I'm sure they want to continue their footie or manger series. This is what the different developers would basicaly contribute to the Winning Eleven Series:
989Sports/Sony:
WTS/TIF
Leagues
Stadiums
Kits(Club&National)
Konami:
Master League
Gameplay
Sports Interactive:
CM4
Other Leagues(All which are not in WTS/TIF)
Options(Player,Team&other)
That is the base.Along with the rest of suggestions.Hitman2UK please send this suggestion to Konami along with the rest.If this and other suggestions are implemented into the game the Winning Eleven 7 and over would be great games.

Yes it was abit Imaginative from EL CHE .:D
One thing i would like to see in the PES3 is a better A.I. in certain situations.
example, if your beating a computer controlled team in the cup or an important league game with time running out, the computer team should sacrifice defenders for strikers and push men forward in a desperate attempt to score.
Also someone mentioned injuries, players should get hamstring injuries and maybe clash heads for more realism.

All of the suggestions are great and it would be brilliant if Konami could do half of them! I have a few of my own, some might already have been mentioned but i'll put them down anyway.
1. More injuries-and different ones.
2. Completely new crossing/long ball system.
3. Make the gameplay more flowing.
eg. When playing fast, 1 touch football the ball always bobbles around and isn't wuick enough. OR Say when a cross comes in and the defence heads the ball up in the air to the edge of the box, then someone like Scholes or Veron would lash in a volley. This would be brilliant.
4. A better Computer Brain. eg. Don't bring off someone who's playing a blinder. OR If the human player is getting in a lot down the wings, then change the formation and play 2 wing backs.
The brilliance is that Konami have got the different aspects of play pretty good. eg. Passing, Off the ball runs, Control, Shooting. But what the game really needs to make it unbeatable is all of these aspects linked together with a bit of commentary. I hope you can understand what i am trying to say, and I would like to hear what you think of these small ideas.

Improved off the ball running is probably the most important thing. Most players like a fluid passing game but often this broken up by a lack of movement. The existing tatical system is pretty good, but a whole section could be devoted to the runs made by off the ball players when in possesion. Developments in varying technique and playing style would also help so the gulf in style between Zidane and, say, Paul Lambart would be more marked.
Ultimately the aim has to make a more crisp and realistic game. Allowances for moments of genius from star players shold be made...........

I think a new shooting system is a must. it is impossible to score a 25 yard drilled shot in the bottom corner. also you should be able to shot any where in the goal, i feel in pes2 that the shots are limited. i dont think you shoud ever see the same shot.

I think that there should be doemestic leagues whith tournements such as the champions league. I also think that the celebrations should be improved as some of them seem a bit to touchy. I would also like to see official sponsers for club and national teams which would add lots more to the game.

more classic teams eg. Brazil '70, Brazil '94, England '66, '90, Italy '94, Man U '70, Liverpool '70, etc.
Play quailfying matches for tournements, World Cup, European Championships, Copa America etc.
proper boots, adidas, puma, nike, umbro
they've got the umbro and in WE:FE the seem to have the adidas boots, but they should try and push for nike and puma or have really good look-a-likes.
more rest of the world teams like Albania, Armenia, etc.

hahahah lol. No but i like boots a lot, i knew actually who plays on which boots ( DONT ASK ME WHY I KNEW THAT, i dont understand it also;) :D )
So for me its important that umbro reebok etc etc will be in pes3.
That adds a lot of feeling to the game for me;)

if they are going to do real boots, then you should be able to customize them, with player names, numbers, colours, make, size etc. like beckham could have the Lunar Predators with "Beckham 7" on them. you get my point.

I think writing on the boots is a little too far. Don't know too many of them with writing so it wouldn't be used very much.
I like to update the boots in game too when I see them changed IRL.
If they provide some empty shoes design slots, I'm sure patchers can fill them in with everything you can desire.

What about the shoelaces? Yeah, I want a shoelace editor! Fair enough to have like a few options on boots and a pattern editor perhaps... but I agree with Zygalski. Who needs to have names on boots. I would rather they spend that project time and money doing something more groovy.

Lisbon67Seville03
24-05-2003, 01:16
especially when you beat off when playing SOCOM! just kidding, but that is a good point about the second yellow, that would make the game all too real. i doubt a striker would do a celebration like that if he was already on a yellow, so maybe if he was unbooked he could do one and then get booked. i dont know, something like that.
As other companies look at PES for improvements PES should look at the competiton for its improvements.
Sensible soccer season mode and tournament builder.
As many clubs as possible all leagues and divisions. If you cannot afford the teams just put them in but under a different name. If you can have dutch players with orange you can apply the same rules to other leagues and teams.
All Internaional Teams and there national Anthems.
Be able to select each player for each International Team
Be able to add and save teams one at a time.
Be able to edit any player and change there name and announce name to what you want.
Example if youn don't own the rights to use giggs name you could name him geggs and have the announce name geggs but also have the sample giggs on the dvd so that we could change the announce name to giggs.
Be able to have multiplayer competition where you can select as many teams to be controlled by humans.
Camera:
-------
You should have 2 or more user defined views. You can select the X, Y and Z. For example you could have a birds eye view like the fourth view in the action replay.
Harddrive:
----------------
This can save all the goals scored in the game and free up some memory for other uses.
As each replay takes around 350K of memory and there are about 6 replays at the end, the memory taken is about 2.1 Megabytes. You could double or triple the replay length and cache them to the harddrive. You could then use the memory left for other uses.
Realistic Weather:
---------------------------
This is affected by where your team is playing. If in hot countries such as spain or brazil there is more chance of a hot day than a cold day but in manchester there is more chance or rain. This is also affected by the time in the month the game is played. Example if I am playing in england and it is summer there is more chance or sun but in winter more chance of snow or rain.
Variable weather it may start sunny but it may start raining.
If it rains the pitch get wetter until it gets soggy.
If it is sunny the pitch drys out.
Rain - Variable from light to heavy - this effects how fast the pitch becomes water logged. Players will slide tackle longer. Lightning. Thunderstorms.
Wind - Variable and affects ball when high in the air.
Sun - Variable from mild to heat wave.Affects stamina and pitch the pitch will dry out.
Snow - Players wear gloves . Orange Ball.
Managers for each team:
--------------------------------------
Managers can be fired just like you
Each manager has a certain way of playing , buying and selling players. (Championship Manager 4)
You can choose the way your manager will look.
Managers also respond to the scores on the pitch. If they need a win they will choose a more attacking option, but if they are 1-0 up in the fianl minutes they will choose a more defensive formation.
Each team should have at least a ultra defensive, defensive, attacking, ultra attacking and normal formations.
Animation:
----------------
Different type of injuries.
Broken legs, pulled muscles, Damaged shoulder etc.
Physio/Cart or stretcher may be used depending on injury.
Players that are slightly injured are taken to the side of the pitch.
The stadium crowd should also reflect the game you are in. if you are at the bottom of the league there may be less supporters in the stadium. If you are at the top of the league there may be more supporters. This will also affect how loud your support is in the stadium.
Players arguing with there own players, opponents, refs, linesmen, manager.
The game will also be played in real time so that it may start when the sun is out and no floodlights, but may end in the evening when the sun has set and the floodlights are turned on.
Not all stadium have ther exits at the side of the pitch, some have there exits underground.
Animation of subs coming onto pitch and time remaining.
Players can be injured even if no foul is given. Players may hobble or just lay on floor.
Diving if your player is fouled you can move the right analogue stick , to do different dives. i.e rotate the right analogue stick and you player will roll around as they have been shot.
Statistics:
---------------

Shots, tackles, Passes, runs , offsides, freekicks, corners, fouls etc should be stored. This can then be used by the commentary.
User statistics:
fastest goal, most goals in game, most goals scored in season, fastest hat trick, heaviest defeat.
The statistics could also be used by the CPU when playing you for example if you have player always getting the ball , you could man mark them.
Commentary:
---------------------
May include
Number of fouls , throwins corners, shots etc by players.
More information about the club i.e country, trophies won, history etc.
Where the team is in the league.
If the team is relegated, promoted, on a losing streak, on a win streak.
Top scorers, Assises etc
Recent transfers.
Results between teams previously.
Players injured.
Players nationality, history.
Weather.
Number of subs used, or being sent on.
Which team has had the most possession.
Refs:
--------
Refs should see like the enemies in Metal gear solid.
Refs should have stats on sight, strict, speed etc.
If the refs see you they will book you. But if the foul is behind them then they will not.
If the ref does not see you the linesman may and will put up there flag. The ref will then go up and talk to the ref and make there decision.
The further away the ref and linsmen are the more likely they will make mistakes. i.e miss offside, give fouls , not give fouls , give offsides when they are not. This will also affect players. If you score a goal and then an offside is given the players may run up to the linesmen and complain, this will also apply to penalties and feekicks.
More than one player can be booked at one time. Other players, manager, sub react to refs decision.
Accumaltive fouls: if a player fouls more than 4 times the ref may give a warning and if they foul again the ref will book them.
Sound:
-----------
Each team can have there own crowd chants i.e west ham I am for ever blowing bubbles.
Maybe they can ask users to send them in. There are websites which have football chants for football clubs.
There should be both supporters in the ground where the team with the most supporters is the loudest.
Different football chants for teams winning , losing , drawing , winning league or relegation.
Reaction to players on pitch.
If I pass the ball more than 20 times in a row and I am winning the game the crowd may start cheering for each pass you make.
If I play away and foul a player I may get boo's from the crowd each time the player gets the ball.
Crowds whistles if time is running out.
If I make a substitue the crowd will react to how they played. Boo's if poor or applause if good game.
Control:
------------
If you lightly tap the circle button with the R2 when standing the player will flick the ball in the air, and you could volley or do an overhead kick.
When no one has the ball by holding the x button your selected player will run to the ball.
You should have the option of deciding what the cancel button is ie R2 and R1, any speed button or any movement of joystick.
Also make the R1 button the same as R2 button in moving players towards ball.
Option of turning off clearing with the square and circle button.
Option of turning off goalie clearing as soon as you get the ball you get control of the goalie.
You should be able to turn off or on automatic clearing, jumping tackling by your players. A lot of times the computer will kick, jump, head without you pressing any buttons.
You should be able to substitute at kick off.
On any dead ball situation you should be able to switch and move you players anywhere for example: On goal kicks you can run up to the goalie and slide tackle him.
You should be able to control the direction the ball goes when you chest it. If you don't press any direction button they will chest it down, but if you hold a direction button they will try and chest it in that direction.
Freekicks:
----------------
4 or more tactics each for defending and attacking freekicks.Select which players defend or go up like Championship Manager 4.
If I have a two footed player you should be able to switch feet.
You should be able to rotate 360 degrees.
Add, Remove players from the wall. (R2 and digital joystick up and down).
Move wall forwards or backwards. (R1 and direction of joystick). If wall is too near ref may push us back 10 yards, or give you a yellow card.
Control any player on the pitch so you could move the goalie to any place you want during freekicks.
Penalties:
---------------
If I have a two footed player you should be able to switch feet.
Should be able to move goalie left, right, forwards and backwards. If I bring out my player too early the ref may book me or speak to me.
Goalie:
-----------
Example
Triangle Goalie can drop ball on floor.
X Goalie rolls ball out to player.
Square goalie throws ball to player.
Circle goalie kicks ball to player.
If you hold the R1 button for Throw or kick you can select the height and power of the throw and kick.
Example you press the R1 button and you press throw or kick buton for height then after you press that you press throw or kick button for power. R2 will cancle the power and height.
The defending team should be able to switch players and foul.
ThrowIns:
----------------
The team taking the throwin should be able to switch throwers and receivers.
The team taking the throw should be able to move the receiver anywhere not just move in an arc.
Example
X button throws to receivers feet. If you hold on to the X button this controls the power of the throw.
Square button throws to receivers head. If you hold on to the square button this controls the power of the throw.
Circle button throws in direction you are facing. The first press of the circle button sets the height and the second sets the power R2 will cancel the height and power.
The defending team should be able to switch players and foul at any time.
Corners:
--------------
4 or more tactics each for defending and attacking corners.
Example R1 + R2 and either Traingle , circle or square to select tactics.
Both teams should be able to switch and move players around.
If I have a two footed player you should be able to switch feet.
Passing:
--------------
If you tap the X button the ball will go to the player. But if you hold on the X button the bar will charge up the power of the pass and will go in the direction you press using the left analogue stick, just like the Right Analogue stick.
Through Ball:
---------------------
If you tap the triangle button the ball will be passed just in front of the player. But if you hold on to the triangle button the bar will charge up and the higher the bar the further the ball is passed in front of the receiver.
Slide Tackle:
--------------------
As soon as you press the slide tackle button your player should slide tackle, as there are times in the game that when you press the slide takle button the player does not slide as when you are chasing the ball against the goalie or oponent.
When you slide tackle the direction the ball goes is based on the direction you hold the left analgue stick.
Headers:
--------------
As soon as you press the header button the player will jump in the air in the direction you are moving or direction you are holding the joystick. while in the air you can select the direction of the header i.e I could jump forward but header to the left of me.
While in the air the following buttons are used.
X pressed pass to players foot.
tap X pass to players head.
Square head to goal.
Triangle head in direction you hold joystick
Celebrations:
---------------------
Running to different parts of the pitch i.e manger, goal, centre of pitch.
Players taking there shirt off.
Players running to crowd.
Special celebrations for unique moments i.e scoring the golden goal in world cup final, or any final.
Tactics:
------------
There should be 4 or more tactics for defending and attacking corners so we can decide which players defend/attack and where they go like Championship Manager 4.
Tactics for when you have the ball and when they have the ball.
Tactics for Goal Kicks, Kick Off (Defending and Attacking)
You should also be able to see the X and Y coordinates of the players position.
Set pieces for freekicks.
You should be able to have any tactic you want from 2-3-5 to 1-1-1-3-4 etc.
Morale:
------------
If I am 2 - 0 down and I score a goal my team will get a boost in stats for a fixed amount of time while the opponents will loose theres for a fixed amount of time.
The morale of team is also based on where they are in the league and winning streak.
The number of weeks a player is injured should also be shown.
Transfers:
----------------
Instead of having random transfers you should be able to haggle the price when bidding for players, also you should be able to swap players so for example I could bid for a player and offer money and two other players in return. If they reject you they should say why i.e Wages too low, Not high enough, they don't want your players, your league is too low or they have a better offer. The response to the transfer is instant so that you know that you have the player rather than hoping you get the player after the game.
Rules:
----------
If 4 players get sent off the opposing team gets a win of 4-0 minimum.
Bugs:
---------
Speed cheating. Why is it my players when chasing for the ball are always slower than the CPU.
When you lighly tap the chip button, the bar still charges up to its maximum.
The switching of players is poor.
If you are behind a player challenging for a header some times your player cannot move backwards, sidewards.
If the computer puts your player on the line to defend the goal such as on corners if you switch to that player you cannot move the player.
Why does the computer still transfer players when I cannot.
Sometimes if you run towards the ball at full pace you player will become uncontrollable and run round in a circle.
When the ball is intercepted, there is a delay of 1 to 2 seconds and your player cannot do a slide tackle.
Attackers running away from goal when you are attacking.
Defenders running away from goal when you are defending.
Players response to rebounds and looses balls is poor.
Special Moves:
--------------
All players should be able to try and do all special moves. The difference is the probablity of them doin it. If for example a player with no skill such as Tony Adams tried it, 99 percent of the time lose the ball or fall over. But if a player such as Okacha, Zidane tried it there will ba a 20-90 percent chance of it working. The special moves should also be based on timing and position of the ball and player. So you will have to time the moves perfectly just to get it to work. For example to do a 360, rotate the right analogue stick and push backwards the left analogue stick when the ball is closest to the players feet and push forwards on the left analogue stick when the player has done 180 degrees. During the special move the opponent can still be foul and tackle you, and your ball control is decreased.
Extras:
-----------
Improved face designer to be able to choos nose, ears, eyes, lips etc.
Restart a friendly match any time you want, match instead of going back to main menu.
Bonus points for not conceding goals.
Bonus poins for a win streak i.e games (won * 50) for each game example if I win my 5th game in a row I would get (5 * 50) 250 points.
Team Work Attribute:
--------------------------------
The more goals you score the faster the team work rises for attackers.
The less goals scored against you the faster the team work rises for defenders.
The higher the possession of the ball the faster the team work rises for midfielders.
Harddrive Version:
-----------------------------
Stadium Builder either PC os PS2. Could hold a competition for the best ones. Should be able to add them to the game so that eventually you could have all stadiums for all teams.
Add football chants to the game.
Improved Kit editor badges logs could be added by users.
Download kits, stadiums, players from internet.
Change the style of the pitch for any stadium.
Advanced probably for PS3
------------------------------------------
Subs , manager, physio are seen on subs bench and react to game.
Turf on pitch digs up after heavy slide tackles.
Online league.
Ragdoll Physics (Half Life 2)
Tv Cameras
Cheat Codes which might be added
------------------------------------------------------
Play all games at night
Play all games at day
Play all games in the sun
Play all games in the rain
wow... this plan is even more ambitious than mine!
if KCET were to add all these changes to PES3, no-one would ever go see/play the real thing anymore :)
i hope they would at least add the possible ones
anyway, let's keep on dreaming...

Maybe some of these ideas can be made reality if someone emails Konami enough.
Or you could try the PESFAN as it seems they have links with the makers.
What is Konami's email address?
there are really some great ideas in there!

my god, someone's been thinking long and hard about this, huh? but certainly some good ideas there, very well done and well structured, you get an official A+!

That list is more worthy of a gold star!

i think the "Advanced Ideas" could be the best, i really agree with you 100% on both the pitch getting cut up(especially in rainy conditions) and i believe that manger reactions/subs bench reactions would be priceless. come on konami, look at this boy's list!

transfer a player to another club more freely as in Fifa, as it was said by some others, cause it's a real struggle to edit all the players in pES 3
Lisbon67Seville03
26-05-2003, 22:14
definitely. pes online could change that tho. easily downloadable updates and stuff.
Zygalski
26-05-2003, 22:26
Can you imagine doing a lot of editing then accidentaly clicking on the online 'download updates' button which would over-write your work in a few seconds?
Hopefully there will be some safeguards to prevent that.

like an "Are You Sure?" option.

YES: X NO: O
Isn't this standard? You always get the choice to undo something, up to a point.

Yeah sure but anything can happen.
You could sneeze and drop the controller or something.
Maybe they should allow more than one option file per memory card.

You're right there. I've actually dropped my controller before whilst playing Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven (f**kin' great game by the way!) and pressed a button that I didn't want to press!! Accidents do happen (and some mumpleasers do 'ave 'em)
Lisbon67Seville03
27-05-2003, 14:01
that can happen to anything like that, you've just got to take a chance.
one small difference which might help would be to change the amount of added time at the end of the match.we all know when the match will finish now but add a few more minutes here and there and it would help.also, lets have unpredictable refs, when have we seen a real life ref make no mistakes.and lets have some offside goals allowed,no that would get the tempers flairing.imagine against your mates "that was offside"....ah,but the ref didnt see it!! 1-0..
Lisbon67Seville03
01-06-2003, 13:58
i like the offside thing. maybe they should ref just like mike riley who always gives man utd a penalty. "and ryan giggs hits it over, no wait, riley's given a penalty and sent off the goal keeper for distracting giggs!!!"(that didnt happen, but it could)

I would like to have better crowd chants introduced into the games , I mean who didnt get excited when they were playing Netherlands on iss pro 2000 and the legendary brass band started playing their tunes
Zygalski
03-06-2003, 23:04
There are a lot of great chants available on patches which are better than anything Konami could come up with.
HOW ABOUT AN ITALIAN BUTTON? AS SOON AS AN OPPOSING TEAM MEMBER COMES NEAR YOU,JUST PRESS R2 AND FALL OVER. IF YOU HIT CERTAIN BUTTONS IN ORDER,YOU COULD EVEN ROLL IN AGONY OFF THE PITCH...SEEN STRANGER THINGS HAPPEN
rebusrahman
04-06-2003, 12:29
Or an England button? If you are winning... you press it and choke. Or it instantly goes to penalties and choke.
I just played a match and there the referee accepted a offside goal!!!!! im sure that it was meters offside but it was a goal and so i lose:(
Zygalski
04-06-2003, 14:19
Apparently the game sometimes makes mistakes with offsides to make it realistic. Somebody else thought it was a good idea.
I seem to do badly on penalty shootouts, particularly against other people. Any tips?
(Besides hiding the controller which everyone does anyway)

It does make ref mistakes... which I do like. Pens... I try to go one way and then change at the last mo. Also look at their power and acc to decide whether to play for top corner (diff I think), bottom corner (best bet) or down the middle (if you have the balls to do this 5 times!)
