Yeah - and if there were no adverts we wouldn't get any money. The only way to remove adverts if to recieve another form of payment - which is what this is. This forum isn't free to maintain (I think...)

Because someone with 3500-ish posts should know better.
If the admins weren't such clueless noobs you'd realise how you could get much more people to join your elite thing.
You'd have to take a hit and up the filesize for avatrs to 50...if you did that people could see the sort of shit some people can make and everyone would want stuff like that for there avatar so they'd hand over the money.
You should see the stuff Quiche from srk makes it's completely crazy.

Becoming an Elite seems quite a sensible option from what I gather. The price seems very modest and what you get in return definitely seems to be worth it. I have been looking around for a good forum in which I can discuss football in addition to many other topics and this seems to be a good place. Sadly I am not too fond of the layout and skin but I guess by becoming an elite I would no longer have to use the default skin. There is no guarantee I will be around for a long period of time as I am quite busy but for 5 pounds I can't quite lose. If an admin would be as kind as to give me a link then that would be very generous of them and I can get straight into some discussion.

Yes, you can get banned. But they usually just give the Elites a yellow card or whatever you call it.

grrr I am trying to upload a new sig. Firstly... Now I am "elite" I should be able to have a 500x150 sig right? And also it's allowed to be a gif, and it is only 24kb so it doesn't conflict with the "must be less than 100kb" rule.... It then goes on to say "you are only able to post images up to 450x150 in your signature"
any help? I just spent a while doing it at 500 you see...

I'm sure that's the standard pixel requirement for well, normal members.
It says that Elite members are allowed bigger sigs. I have also had this problem. I've seen some Elite's in the past with supposedly to the eye bigger signatures then 450x150, so I'm wondering why us Elite's can't upload bigger images.. ?
Not that I'm that worried about it to be honest, as I don't mind the little nifty Signatures.

The sig uploading doesn't work. You have to do it manually at image shack I think for the time being.
Sig images used to be controlled by a plugin but after upgrading the forum software this functionality was lost so it's now all done manually (if an admin spots a nonelite with a gif it's removed).
Just payed my high credit card bill. May get elite.

To be fair, when a lot of people signed up at a fiver... the Elite section didn't have anything like the amount of stuff it has now.
