It's hard to say which team is better, it's extremely close. I think both teams can be improved, though.
For RF's team:
Rio Mavuba is a 10x better holding midfielder than Alan Smith, he excels in the anchorman role, so I think he should replace Smith. The midfield is a bit unbalanced in my opinion, it has too many attacking players who won't do any defensive work. I'd drop one from Alex/Del Piero/van der Vaart and bring in a more defensive minded player, but with the players you have at the moment, i'd use this as a first-choice starting XI:
-------------------------Leo Franco------------------------
---Maicon--------Marchena----------van Buyten---Dede-----
---------------------------Mavuba-------------------------
-----------Del Piero---------Alex----------van der Vaart----
--------------------Villa------------Saviola-----------------
Deki,
I'd like to see Sergio Ramos at right back, Ujfalusi partnering Bonera, Manuel Fernandes in place of Aldo Duscher, and a diamond shaped midfield.
-----------------------------Frey------------------------------
---Ramos---------Bonera-----------Ujfalusi---------Evra--------
--------------------------M.Fernandes-------------------------
------------------Stankovic------------D.Pizarro---------------
-----------------------------Aimar----------------------------
----------------------Cassano-------Toni---------------------
2 more very good D2 teams, who are capable of putting in a strong challenge for promotion. D2 should be great next seaosn, there are 5 or 6 teams all with a strong chance of promotion
Ranger Fuereva as they have a better team overall.
Both teams are looking strong. Well done, gents.

Cheers for that James. That formation was actually my 2nd choice, but the only difference from mine was you'v switched round Alex and Del Piero, and replaced Kaladze with Van Buyten.
Greats teams....very strongs.....but I prefer Deki, because have a more balanced team in all areas......
Keep up the good formation presentations :D Though RF could do with bigger words
Good front 3 from RF, and perhaps Morientes would be a good partner for Cassano as they abilities compliment each other's well.
I think Deki might win this one as he's likely to have more possession in midfield because Alan Smith can't handle it all by himself, against Duscher and Pizarro. RF should score one or two goals though.
